The best eel avocado roll I've ever had! The spicy combo was very good, too.
Andy M.

We had the calamari appetizer tonight, and it was phenomenal. The squid was cooked perfectly and the spicy sauce was fantastic. I love the house salad and miso soup in addition to getting sushi or an entrée. The ginger dressing is delicious and they don't skimp on it. As for the sushi, I think this place is top shelf. I really like the eel avocado and I often get more than one roll. Grea

This place is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant. I recently started a low carb keto diet and Ichiban makes sushi for me without the rice and it's delicious. I added some photos of Ichiban over the years

The complete lunch!

With restaurants closed for dining, Ichiban excels at takeout. I stopped for lunch, ordered and was able to sit and wait as they prepared it. I catted with them and even ordered some Ichiban Tshirts. Have to support the local businesses! The Bento box had shrimp and vegetable tempura, fried rice, a spring roll and California roll. Sushi. If you are loooking for something other than Mexican burgers or Pizza... head to Ichiban!

Shrimp Tempura Bento Box and a Crab Rangoon. Delicious.

This is my go-to spot in Sussex. I order takeout a couple times a month, and the sushi and hibachi are always fresh, tasty, and ready fast.

Good food. Atmosphere is a little strange. Service is a little slow as well. Fried calamari was very good

It is a great restaurant with fresh, well prepared food. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Take out is also great and reasonably priced.

We have been to this restaurant three times now and have been generally pleased with our…read moreexperiences each time. I usually get the sushi lunch set, and my husband typically gets the panang curry. We've also tried several appetizers; the gyoza were decent, the fish cakes were tasty, and the tom kha soup is quite good. Prices are a little steep for appetizers. The chicken in the panang curry tended to be rather overcooked, but the sauce is fantastic. The spicy tuna roll is good, the Alaska roll is standard fare, but the Fire Dragon roll was excellent. We also tried the Milwaukee roll and that was good too. My only significant complaint is that the sushi set has increased in price (by removing one of the items you're allowed to get with it). On my two previous experiences, you could get two classic sushi rolls, a miso soup, and either spring rolls or crab rangoon. On this last visit, they've redesigned the lunch set menu and now for the same price ($15.95) you can still get two classic sushi rolls, but then you only get a choice of one side -- soup or fried item or salad item. That's disappointing. They do offer the choice of getting a premium sushi roll instead of the two classic rolls for the same price, or for $23.95 you can get even more (though I don't recall the specifics). So while I previously thought the sushi lunch set was an excellent value for the price, I was bummed that they'd reduced the amount of food you enjoy for the price instead. And as a sidenote, the Thai tea is smallish in size compared to what you can get at other similar Thai restaurants. At $4.50 it's not that great a deal. All that said, I'll be back for that Fire Dragon roll. That thing was excellent.

Chicken Pad Thai + Pork Fried Gyozas…read more I wanted to love this one... but it just didn't hit like I expected The pad thai wasn't my favorite..the flavor felt kinda muted and it came with tofu (which I'm personally not a fan of), so that already threw it off for me. I was hoping for that bold, saucy, slightly sweet-tangy pad thai moment and it just wasn't giving. The gyozas were also underwhelming, usually they're crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, but these were kinda flat and forgettable 2/5

The staff was a bit hard to understand and when I explained we were first timers, she slowed down her speaking a bit and that helped. Be prepared to order you full meal right away as they then prepare the ingredients in the kitchen for preparation at the table. It appears to be traditional to be entertained by the chef, which we did expect, however I was not prepared to have a broccoli launched at me without warning. We each were hit in the face which was not a lot of fun. Maybe we could be asked first next time? I know many people enjoy this but we were in the middle of a conversation when the food started flying. Kids will love this! The food was prepared wonderfully well. A medium rare steak was perfect as was the medium one requested. A quick and efficient prep was impressive and there was a large amount of food on our plates before long. They have a happy hour that is really reasonable, M-Th 4:30-6:00. We will also be back to take advantage of that option. You can choose to sit in the traditional dining room or the hibachi area. We really enjoyed the hibachi option just for the pleasure of watching our food being prepared well in front of us. Plenty of parking in this relatively innocuous building near the mini-golf place. But it is worth a visit. The food is worth the reasonable prices.
