I have mixed feelings about my experience at First watch. The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant was quite nice. It had a farm house vibe, the tables were spread out and staff wore masks. But the food took FOREVER. We waited about 40 minutes for our food after we put in our order. My meal was just your average French toast. I was disappointed that it didn't come with eggs and sausage... you had to add it on if you wanted it. I also ordered one of their juices-the morning meditation. The drink was DELICIOUS, but I think it made me sick. About an hour after we left my stomach was not okay and I've felt pretty pukey since. So, this isn't a spot I'll be adding to my recommendation list. read more

Came here for a weekend brunch with friends. I like the layout of this restaurant, and it feels like a place I would go to in California. We didn't need to wait long, though before coming we did check in on the online wait list. Their menu has some solid options, and it seems like they even have a lot of gluten free options. I'm planning to bring my gluten intolerant friends here at some point. We ordered several dishes, and they were all great. Honestly, I wanted to try so many dishes. The prices are also reasonable. I split a sweet dish and a savory dish with a friend, so we got the best of both worlds. The customization is also a plus, with the option to do egg whites for omelettes. - Tried a bit of the morning meditation and it was delicious and refreshing! - French toast was a simple yet delicious classic. - Bacado with potatoes instead of bread and egg white substitution. Food looks really good but was not as good as it looked. I got the avocado toast. The bread wasn't toasted and was so thick it took from the avocado taste. Avocado was very thick and whole thing was pretty flavorless. Egg was a little cold when I received it. My friend got the asian bowl which was savory but a little too sweet. From start to finish, excellent food, service and atmosphere. The short is my food (biscuits, sausage and gravy) was beautifully cooked and flavorful. The new " Wake Up" juice is sweet with a slight mint kick, perfect for early morning. I am a single diner and came in around noon. They were very accommodating and staff was friendly and quick. It took about 4 minutes for my food to come back to me after order, so extremely quick. The food was all tasty. I got an over easy egg and it was actually over easy, not over cooked or rubbery. The biscuits were fluffy and did taste fresh baked, a claim I was originally skeptical of. The star of the dish was the gravy. It was sausage gravy, and had an interesting back of the throat spice. I had that gravy with the potatoes and eggs in my dish and it was all delicious. The side potatoes were good but nothing special. The waitress was extremely nice and quick with service without hovering. I was in and out with a full stomach in less than an hour, all for 27$ (tip included). If you are wanting the feel of an old-fashioned diner but with the food quality of a elegant restaurant, First Watch is your place. We have all been missing brunch during covid, and some establishments are really putting in the extra effort, not only adhere to CDC requirements, but also making their guests feel more comfortable. First Watch did just this. My boyfriend and I went during peek brunch hours on a Saturday, was instructed they would text us when we were ready to be seated and it would be about 25-30 minute wait. The only thing is, is right now with covid, there is no indoor seating for waiting patrons. And just how the building is facing, the outside bench seatings are unfortunately in direct sun. The side of the building in the shade was just along the outside dining area. I noticed many who chose to sit in their vehicles, in their air conditioning, which we opted for this not too soon after. We were seated outside, used their online menu option via QR code reader, and ordered. I wish I had made a reservation online as this location was very busy and required a 20 minute wait. Thankfully there was seating and menus so I was able to order quickly once seated. I ordered the half Monterey Club and half the Chicken Avocado Chop salad. The sandwich was overflowing with turkey and melted cheese, and I enjoyed every bite. The salad was immediately disappointing. For mentioning avocado in the title I would have expected more than two very small slices of barely ripe avocado. The flavors in the salad were nothing special, and the chicken was dry, although I enjoyed the tortilla strips that topped the greens. My partner ordered the açaí bowl and requested gluten free toast, when served the toast was glutinous so we had our server quickly remedy it. He said the granola in the açaí bowl was far too sweet, and the kiwi was complexly hard and unripe. The plating of the food served at First Watch is extremely novice and simple. I would have preferred my salad being served in a bowl as it would have made it easier to eat. I specifically did not order a dish that would come with syrup as the menu indicates an additional price to be served real maple syrup: this highly offends me. The decor is pleasant and reminded me of my Connecticut upbringing being surrounded by nautical rope and blue paint. The staff was pleasant and helpful and everyone wore UofA shirts as a uniform. I was able to stop in for brunch/lunch at First Watch in Tucson, AZ today. It's was Absolutely filling an soup hit the spot on such a chilly day to me! We were able to get right in and be seated very quick. A carafe of water was brought to the table within minutes and our waitress was quick. Very kind and courteous and ordered drinks were always refilled quickly. The restaurant was very clean and everyone was extremely nice to us. First watch offers a variety of healthy and classic items. I eat here quite often as a pick up to go order but staff is always friendly whether I am dining in or getting take out. My favorite breakfast item is the traditional plate with chicken sausage, it's very tasty and fresh. They also offer a seasonal short rib omelette that is pretty good as well! Based on my previous visits to their north Phoenix location, I thought it would be fun to introduce my mother to this excellent breakfast chain while in Tucson last weekend. Right away, the decor is familiar and inviting. Plus, the dining room is bright and airy. And to top it off, our server Reanna was awesome! My mother wasn't familiar with the menu and asked a lot of questions, but Reanna was patient and made some good recommendations. Her timing and pleasant demeanor made our breakfast very enjoyable. The more I explore the menu at First Watch, the more I'm impressed. And their Million Dollar Bacon was already pretty impressive! My mom enjoyed her Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and my Market Hash was delicious. And in case I've never mentioned it, the fruit preserves they serve with the toast is another impressive item on a long list. First Watch has demonstrated their standards are high. From the moment we arrived it was a pleasant experience. We pre-checked in on Yelp so our wait time to be seated was very minimal. Our waitress was very attentive & nice to deal with. Food was very tasty as usual :) I always forget tho that they put parsley on everything, which is gross in my opinion, but, I just picked it off this time. I talked to one of the managers and she apologized about the fiasco so I decided to update my review from 2 stars to 5 stars after giving this First Watch another shot. After my experience last time I called my order in rather than using the FW app to make sure they knew of my food allergy. I went inside to pick up my order and it was ready by the time I got there (15 min). I checked with the cashier that they made note of my allergy and she told me not to worry because she told everyone at least twice to be careful. I got to enjoy my food this time and I was happy that I did not have a repeat bad experience. My recommendation for everyone, especially those with food allergies is to call in rather than use the FW app. There really is no benefit of using the app since you don't get points or anything. read more

The best thing about this place is the great service! Not only do they check on you a good amount of the time, if you order coffee, they'll offer you a cup to take out with you when you're done with your meal. The menu has most of the common breakfast items with some Mexican inspired dishes. There are egg and omelette options, as well as French toast and pancakes. If you want a healthier option or gluten-free, they have that as well. They are very accommodating! I am allergic to melon, watermelon, cantaloupe and honey dew and they were able to separate it for me for my side of fruit. The chorizo omelette I ordered was a bit underwhelming. Nothing very special or outstanding about its taste. The chorizo was lackluster and it came with green chiles and onions. The majority of the filling tasted like the onions and green chili rather than the chorizo. The toast was delicious, including the jam they add to the plate. That is what saved the breakfast for me.
