I've been here several times , like others, hoping the quality of the food improves, but it never does: - the coffee is horrible - way too strong - I ordered the avocado toast. The "toast" was cold or frozen in the center. They made me a new one, but it was still cold. - eggs were watery. - Kale tonic tastes like it comes out of a box. - choc chip pancakes were good. I think the unhealthy options are all good...there seems to be a lot of unhealthy clientele, especially relative to Nalley Fresh. The menu looks great, but the execution is poor. We showed up at a normal breakfast time on a weekend so naturally, it was packed. The staff were very pleasant and it didn't take long at all to be seated. The waitress we had was cheerful and helpful, immediately coming back with warm drinks which is exactly what we wanted in the morning. Their menu has so many delicious items on it, it was quite difficult to choose. I wound up deciding on the lemon ricotta pancakes which were absolutely divine! Being Canadian, I covered them with maple syrup. I think they might have been a bit dry without it. Next time we're nearby we will definitely be going back! read more

Let me start off by admitting that normally I don't like breakfast. I know that makes me a bit of a misfit in most circles, but you need to know this so you can understand why it was so important to me to write this review about a place to eat breakfast. A group of 6 of us decided to eat breakfast. My daughter looked on her wonderful YELP app and said, "Hey, this place looks good, we should try it." Away we went, a menagerie of people with so many different eating styles that you almost feel sorry for the restaurant that takes us in! Everything from "I don't like breakfast", "I like plain food, nothing fancy" , "I need gluten free" and "I am out on a road trip, I want a ton of different flavors." And so on, that is how 4 of the six people are, the other 2 fall somewhere in between all those themes. We arrived at First Watch, they greeted us with a great big smile and seemed happy to see us. We were sent straight to a great big table and Tiffany came up and introduced herself. Looking over the menu, I couldn't believe the amazing selections. I actually had too many options that looked delicious! Everyone at the table was thinking the same thing. Our plain food eater was content that he could have his simple egg and cheese omelette, our gluten free eater found a savory mushroom egg dish that was a culinary masterpiece, there were two different eggs Benedict orders, one with bacon, one with smoked salmon, breakfast tacos and lemon curd pancakes with strawberries. We ended up sharing and trying each other's breakfasts. Oh and the Kale Tonic and the Meditation Medley juices were PHENOMENAL!!!! The place was packed, how we got so lucky to be seated right away, still is a mystery, but we hardly had to wait at all, the food came out fast and hot and perfect. They checked on us multiple times and made sure we had all we needed, it was just an incredibly delicious and friendly place! I would LOVE breakfast if I could eat at a place like this every day! We left and before noon had recommended it to 3 people! They do it right here! Can't wait to come back some day! I came here on a break from a class at Loyola, planning to try the avocado toast, but sometimes you just gotta have a waffle! I regret nothing. They were pretty busy around lunchtime, but found me a table for one right away. The server was sweet but a little distracted, first forgetting my coffee and then my water, but finally I was all set and enjoyed some subtle people-watching -- the elderly couple to my left was really a hoot, having a conversation loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear. "DID YOU ASK FOR MORE SUGAR?" "DID I ASK FOR MAPLE SYRUP?" "NO, SUGAR! MORE SUGAR!" The waffle was everything I had dreamed of: fluffy, light, perfect for drowning in butter and warm syrup. My side of bacon was just okay: I had requested crispy and it was . . . chewy. Which is better than limp, but not what I wanted -- though it was deliciously smoky and salty. My server redeemed herself by bringing me a second coffee to go, so I could stay awake through my afternoon class session. I had work done at the garage next door and had forgotten that there was a First Watch right there. Fully intended to go sit by myself and eat some crappy food at a nearby national chain, I walked right by and turned back once I realized it. I had never been before but have heard great things. I'm so glad I stopped in! I sat by a very nice couple who were seasoned vets of the place, coming in to do their Saturday crossword puzzles together. As I sat down, a nice man named Ron sat across from me, and we were immediately confused for having come in together, but had never met. We started talking and even the waitress confused us as being on the same check, and Ron was so nice and picked up my check! It was such a pleasure and really made my day! Sarah and Liz were quite busy with guests. The small dining establishment was heavily populated with diners, people coming and going. Along with prior waiting-to-be- seated guests, my friend and I were able to be seated rather quickly (~15-20 min). Our game plan was to peruse the MD Home and Garden Show across the street at the Fairgrounds with happy tummies. My friend and I ordered the Pumpkin pancake special which included eggs (cooked to our desired taste) and a sausage patty. Our waitress, Sarah, was awesome, enthusiastic, and efficient. A couple of friends and I went here for breakfast on Sunday morning. It was a group of 5 of us, including a 2 year old. The wait was a little long- ours was 30 minutes but by the time we got seated we heard them saying hour long waits or more. That's the only reason this place gets 4 stars though. Everything else was delicious. We got coffees right away and water with the waitress, and the food was relatively fast coming out, which is so great with a 2 year old. The waitress was friendly and inside was super cute! I got the chai latte pancakes-so, so good! My boyfriend got the chickichanga and he ate every last bite, and my 2 year old tore up their chocolate chip pancakes! Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff! Worth the wait. read more

Have had good service and food here in the past but today was terrible. The restaurant is usually very busy but today we were able to get a table right away. Waitress and greeter were very nice. Food service left a lot to be desired. There were seven in our party and the food was delivered two at a time over a period of about twenty minutes. So by the time the final meals were served, those served first had cold food when they finally started eating when everyone was served. Not the waitress's fault because the kitchen did a terrible job of completing orders all together. When we commented to the cashier at the end we got "the look" and no interest in hearing our concerns. Food was good once it got there. We don't mind waiting for our food, but bring everyone's out at the same time. read more

My brother and I came in for breakfast on a Thursday morning after a round of golf. We were seated almost immediately, but then there was ~10 minute wait until we were helped at our table. Our server Hannah was friendly, but also got our drink order wrong initially. We both ordered the French Toast, which took a reasonable 15 minutes to arrive. The french toast was fine, nothing special, but it did the job. My brother's iced coffee was good. During our meal, we heard another server complain at least three times about the sectional service assignments, and about how other servers had less tables while she was swamped. At the entrance/host stand, other customers were consistently waiting up to five minutes to be seated or to pay their checks. The restaurant's environment is pleasant, and the decor is nice. Though our server was kind, I would label the overall service as very poor because of the complaining server, the waiting periods, and the dirty tables around us that no one attended to during the whole meal. The french toast was nothing more than fine, and didn't really atone for the subpar service. I'd heard good things about this place from family/friends, but the experience was definitely lack luster. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Since moving north of the beltway, we have found a lack of quality breakfast places. Brunch has been tough, and Iron Rooster is good, but there needed to be another option. Staff is friendly and attentive considering how busy it is on a Sunday. The selection is pretty diverse offering items you would in "fancier" places in major cities. The power bowl- with quinoa.. sausage and kale was tasty while the ricotta lemon pancakes were amazing. My wife enjoyed her chorizo omelette- though she would have preferred more filling and the granola bowl with yogurt was a nice starter. I would definitely return for breakfast. But, I'd go early because at 1030 am, there was a line 10 people deep. read more

Sorry to be this harsh, but not having butter available is a deal breaker for me. I was so excited to see 100% maple syrup on the menu and then...you only have margarine??? Are you kidding me? The pancake was a decent-but crumbly-made from a mix version, the bacon was good quality but not crispy as ordered, the over medium eggs, however, were perfect. And the coffee especially good but was compromised by only having raw (brown) sugar or artificial sweeteners and non refrigerated half and half on the table. I'll be happy to change this rating when/if management makes appropriate quality changes. read more

One of the most disappointing breakfasts I've ever had. I ordered the farmhouse scramble, which looked absolutely incredible. I went to pick up my order at the store, and the staff were all very friendly. When I got home, I was excited to open it up and try it. I took my first bite and was met with the quintessential bitter and sour flavor of under-ripened potatoes. This is not a pleasant taste at all. Everything else about the dish tasted fine, but the potatoes ARE the dish. Each bite I took was a disappointment. Also, I love sun-dried tomatoes, but they do not make sense in this dish at all. I was so excited this morning to treat myself to a nice breakfast, and was very much let down. Maybe I would try again, but probably not considering their pictures of eggs benedict online are NOT eggs benedict. Why would you take a perfect dish such as eggs benedict and feel the need to put your own overly pretentious spin on it? When I order eggs benedict, I know what I want. I haven't been here since they opened in Pikesville years ago. Back then, we did carry out for an office lunch and no one was impressed. But my Dad has been going for years, and always enjoys his breakfast. He finally tempted me to try them again by describing their Millionaires bacon. My breakfast consisted of a healthy egg white omelet with diced turkey, 2 thick slices of their whole grain bread, potatoes, and of course, a side order of the Millionaires bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but the potatoes lacked any flavor (add more seasons and onions please). The bread was very fresh, nicely dense, warm and with strawberry jam was perfect. BUT - no doubt the star of the dish was the Millionaires bacon. I ordered it crisp, and what made it stand out was the peppery flavor combined with the maple glaze it was cooked in. Ok, adding the bacon may have made my "Healthy Omelet" less healthy, but I don't care. I'll go to they gym to work off the bacon. read more

The hostess sat our group of 5 immediately on a busy Saturday morning and our waitress was there to take drink orders within minutes. I ordered a cup of coffee, they brought me a whole 4-cup pitcher. They're fueling my addiction! The hash. They have several "flavors" of which I chose the farmhouse chicken hash (grilled chicken,onions, red peppers, zucchini, cheddar and scrambled eggs over roasted potatoes, topped with pesto hollandaise). If breakfast was like this all the time, I'd eat it more often. Great service, tasty food, and close to the climbing gym we frequent means that First Watch will become our go-to post climbing feast spot. After recently being introduced to the concept of brunch (yes, it is odd), we made the trek here last Saturday following the receipt of a two-for-one coupon to celebrate the opening. Well worth it. The space is well lit, open, and has a diner-level of noise (though without the flimsy booths and juke box), as well as a menu consisting entirely of breakfast items (omeletts, burritos, etc) and lunch selections. They close at 2 pm daily, so no dinner here. Our server was friendly, quick, and not overly aggressive (three checks throughout the meal). The food was excellent and, as a nice touch, you get an entire pot of coffee with your order. Good coffee too, with a nice wake-me-up burn to it. Prices are very reasonable, with the two meals coming out to less than $25, even before applying the coupon. We will be back. PS: There is free wi-fi if anyone needs it. read more

This is the best breakfast place in Timonium. They have some great choices on the menu that are super healthy. I like to eat as close to paleo as possible, and they have some great gluten free options. You can substitute a salad and fruit for the potatoes and toast with your omelet. I had the chorizo omelet with sauteed onions, mushrooms, yummy cheese, salsa and sour cream. It was awesome - I actually considered licking the plate. My hubby had "the works" omelet and he was really happy with it as well. My daughter had the kid's egg, toast and bacon combo. Everything came out warm and delish. The staff are pretty young and they messed up our order the first time we were there. Service is kind of slow. That said, I still give the place four stars because there is nothing close to the selection and freshness within 10 miles of this place for breakfast. Highly recommend this place! read more

Been here multiple times for Sunday breakfast with family. Never have had a bad experience. Love the different menus and selection from season to season. Some favorites are the avocado toasts- loaded with toppings and quality toast. I they are the called the power bowls, they are good- chicken or sausage with eggs, veggies and quinoa.
