I'm probably a little biased because First Watch is right around the corner from our house, but my wife and I eat breakfast here quite a bit. The food is always good, especially the smoked salmon Benedict and the lemon ricotta pancake. I also didn't realize how much I liked having a small side salad with breakfast, but it really balances out the heartiness of the main dishes nicely. And it sounds basic but the multigrain toast with house jelly is also very, very good. In all, First Watch is just a solid place to eat breakfast. Had a fantastic brunch. Hostess team set good expectations for when we would be seated. Our waitress was outstanding. Breakfast tacos are served in soft shells and pack a very mild spice/heat. Whether you try to pack the black beans in the shells or eat them separately they are pretty good. This business is definitely one for the aesthetic. The food looks very pretty and so does the layout of the place. This restaurant is quite an asset to Springfield. The menu is up to date and has many healthy options. The prices are reasonable. I had the avocado toast with two eggs and my daughter had the oatmeal with fruit on top. We used the Yelp waiting list before we arrived so we were seated very quickly upon arriving. Our waitress was so friendly and quick. She noticed my daughter had been given the wrong muffin with her order (someone else delivered the order to our table) so she brought out a new one. She let her keep the other one and we ate it as well. Both were superb. My avocado toast was some of the best I've had. The way it was seasoned really complimented the flavor of the avocado. I always see a line outside first watch, but after looking at the menu I was concerned. I'm vegan and it didn't appear to have very many options for me. My partner suggested we try and see what they can do. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. My meal was amazing and I could not be happier. They also have non dairy coffee creamer. I knew from a preview of the menu that this was going to be our kind of place. I don't drink alcohol so I was totally stoked to be able to order a cocktail if you will of juices and spiced. I had a seasonal drink (sorry forgot the name of it) with pomegranate juice and cinnamon and it was delish. the food was on point and very unique. I've been to this first watch more times than I could count and have never had any issues until today. Our server was amazing and so friendly, but we ended up waiting an hour and a half for our food. Then, as soon as we get our food one of the hostesses starts bringing over a group to sit at the table beside us and looks around like something is wrong. She goes to get the other hostess working with her and that hostess was very rude! Apparently, they thought we had moved tables (I guess they forgot where they sat us?) even though we hadn't moved at all and was very hateful about it. It was just not the best experience and will probably never be coming back to that one. read more

Really great food, but the coffee isn't great* (which is a key part of my experience) and I think their potatoes are pretty salty--which is fine as long as they are mixed in with some type of sauce. The restaurant is super farmhouse, which is great if you're into that style, and it's loud, with tables along booths set a little too close to each other without separation. You kind of have to work at *not* eavesdropping on your neighbors. Overall, the menu choices are top notch and I have yet to have a dish I don't like! *I like drinking my coffee black so as to experience all of its flavors, and generally only add cream and sugar if it's bad. This one would probably be decent if they brewed stronger cups, but overall it's on the same level as IHOP'S. read more

I had a date for brunch, which seemed the perfect opportunity to try this new franchise in town. It was a Sunday, 11 am. I expected a wait, and got one: 30-45 minutes. As my date was running late, I put my name on the list. The hostess took my phone number, and let me know that I would be texted when my table was ready. It was all handled very efficiently. 28 waiting parties were processed in the 30 minutes we waited. I was impressed. After seating, my date and I were quickly served drinks and we soon put in our orders. Prices were a bit on high side, but who wants to look cheap in front of your date, am I right? Service time took around 17 minutes; not too bad, considering how busy the place was. Portions were generous, so prices no longer seemed quite so steep. We both had omelettes, perfectly prepared. Ingredients were notably fresh. I quite enjoyed the coffee; they leave you a carafe on the table, so refills are not a problem. We ate, and we talked, filling up 90 minutes of time. Never felt rushed. I am looking forward to another visit soon, as I believe I have found my new go-to place for breakfast and brunch. read more

My family and I come to first watch all the time. The service is always great, the food is delicious and the servers are attentive. The food portion is great for the price and the decorations/environment is family friendly! Menu selection has a great variety, including vegan options if that's what you prefer. My sister got the breakfast tacos and substituted the beans with bacon. I got the farmhouse hash and it was very good. Everything is fresh and the coffee is strong but delicious! The food was terrible. I ordered something that had poached eggs, one of the eggs was cooked so long, the yolk resembled a hard boiled egg, the other was cooked so little, the white was still runny. My husband had a skillet with potatoes in it, and the potatoes weren't even cooked. Our waitress came to the table to take our order, bring us our food, and then bring us the check, that was it. Before traveling back to Dallas from a nice holiday weekend in Springfield we met my parents at First Watch for a meal before getting on the road. We made a great choice in restaurants. This is one of those cafes that is only open from 7am-2:30pm. We were there on a Monday afternoon and it was very busy which is usually a very good sign. And it was. This is the type of restaurant that is into quality, fresh ingredients and so am I. My dad had the Eggs Benedict which is served on toasted ciabatta. You get the choice of organic mixed greens or seasoned potatoes. My dad selected the potatoes and he said they were really good. You can choose between Classic, Florentine, BLT all $10.99 or Smoked salmon $12.99. My dad went with Classic-smoked ham and tomato. My mom had the Classic breakfast which comes with 2 cage free eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast and she thought the serving size and taste were just right. I know that her plate looked really good. I ordered a seasonal fruit cup $3.99 which came with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and pineapples which are all quite good for me. I also ordered the Million Dollar bacon which is served crisp and seasoned with organic maple syrup, brown sugar and black pepper and it's wonderful. And I love the way they plate it up. The food comes to the table looking prepared for a glamorous photo shoot in a food magazine. And looks are not deceiving. The cooks are doing their job very well. There is a Juice Bar section of the menu. It has Kale Tonic ( kale, Fuji apple, cucumber and lemon) one size $3.99. My daughter ordered it and she liked it enough to want another. She said it tasted like a crushed kiwi to her. I ordered the Morning Meditation, also $3.99 ( orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet) and I had them leave off the beet because, well yuck, I just don't like them. The drink was delicious, tasting like spicy orange juice and I love that it has both turmeric and organic ginger. I definitely recommend First Watch. We were in Springfield for the weekend and considered going here on Saturday but after reading reviews we went somewhere else. The reviews left the impression that we would be waiting in line forever unless we used the app. Ain't nobody got time for that. Saturday night M said "hey, we are old and going to be up at first light. Let's go ahead and go there at 7 when they open and see what happens." We did and walked right in and sat right down. Our server was friendly and responsive. I ordered a Mexican corn hash thingy. It was delicious. Only issue was I asked for my eggs over easy and they were more like well done. But no biggie. So I was searching everywhere for a cute brunch place for my birthday in Springfield and decided on this one! When we pulled up the restaurant, we were initially shocked at how modern and adorable the exterior was and then at how packed it was. After reading all the reviews and seeing food pics on yelp I knew we weren't going to regret coming here. We went inside, the hostess got our name and number to text us when a table was ready, and we waited for maybe 10 minutes and got sat. Our waiter was extremely helpful in what we wanted like he literally had to come ask if we were ready to order like 3 times because we couldn't decide from all the yummy things on their menu. We finally decided on our choice of food. We waited over 40 minutes for our food but honestly it was okay because we were aware of how busy they were that morning. This place reminded me of brunch places I've been to in Nashville and I will most definitely be going back thanks to the great service and delicious food! read more
