First time there. Ordered hash brown potatoes and bacon. Received both in a timely fashion except the potatoes were refrigerated cold and so was the bacon. Sent them back and received warm bacon and hot potatoes. The manager apologized and made things right. As someone whom has worked in a kitchen, hot food should never be served on cold plates. The cook took the potatoes out of the fridge, plated them but never cooked them. Waitress was very nice and this was not her fault. Wow! Don't even know where to begin on this one! My wife noticed this location had opened while out and about a few days ago, and I had seen the good reviews for the one in Smyrna so suggested that we should try it one day. We dropped by for breakfast this morning and it was great! The only complaint that we had was that the service could have been a bit better, but that was due to not being able to get beverage refills without asking a manager. My wife ordered three blueberry pancakes with bacon. The pancakes are a multigrain type and are HUGE! She said that they were great and as she put it, "were the size of a hubcap". She was only able to eat half of her meal due to the size and what was left easily filled a full size to-go box! The pancakes were served with a tasty fruit compote that tasted like a mix of blueberry and blackberry. I ordered the Chickichanga. This arrived plated up with what I would refer to as skillet potatoes and fresh fruit. The fruit was great and the potatoes were awesome - cooked with onions, mushrooms and did I catch some tomato in there? I think I did! The shining star was the Chickichanga. It didn't look much bigger than a standard two, maybe three egg omelet, but it sure filled this fat boy up! It's like an omelet that has been deep fried similar to a chimichanga and filled with chicken, avocado, onions and such. It's topped off with what the menu called a Vera Cruz sauce and a dollop of what had to be the best tasting, freshest sour cream I've ever eaten in my life! I would definitely order this again, but will probably try something else because their menu had so many awesome sounding choices! On a side note, they have really great coffee and a little bowl on the table with not just half and half, but hazelnut and French vanilla creamer. I just hate that I didn't get more of it. With the refill situation being what it was, I decided to switch over to water since it came out in a quart milk bottle and you filled your own glass from that, which was pretty neat and worked out well since I was thirsty. If the service is a little better the next time we come in, I can easily see this being a five star place! read more

They take FOREVER to seat you, to take your order, and to give you your food. Ive waited 25 minuets for a KIDS to-go order. No one communicates with each other. The order is not usually correct. Well, I loved this place the first time I went. It's gotten worse and worse over time. Half their menu is available with GF bread and for our family that's important. Today, AFTER we seated 3 kids, and AFTER the kids were drinking juice which comes with any order from the kids menu which I didn't care if they had or not but since it's free on kids menu, we got it, waitress told us they were out of GF bread. We always get the same meals here, all 5 of us based around GF bread. We don't normally even eat bread at all so what a treat. Well, there was nothing dairy free and GF on the kids menu so I had to order oatmeal for all 3- at $8 per kid. Fine. My husband waited to stir his coffee for 10 minutes after asking waitress for utensils. We were finally told after getting up to ask again that they had run out of silverware sets and were wrapping them that very minute. :o On the check, they charged us 2.69 for each apple juice, on top of the $8 oatmeals. We had to ask to have it removed since we only found out there was nothing on the kids menu after they were drinking it! Worst experience ever! I seriously don't think I can ever go back in here. The worst thing in a restaurant's profile is inconsistency. I have to say to go from being one of my favorite places to one of my least happy dining experiences, it has to be pretty bad. Today however my waffle was cold, my bacon burnt and the air conditioner was broken! 100 degrees outside. It would have been nice to at least have a couple of fans scattered about. If i could give two and a half stars, I would because I have to say I had a pretty disappointing experience with First Watch after several good ones. I have dined here previously and found the menu interesting and different for breakfast and brunch. The eggs benedict are usually spot-on, especially the Florentine, with spinach and avocado. This morning, though, I tried the Farmhouse Skillet and found the potatoes to be overcooked, mealy and too large. Not only that but this dish comes with two eggs on top, cooked your style, and be forewarned, they keep on cooking on top of the hot dish, so you get overcooked eggs, too. Points for there being plenty of tasty bacon in the dish, but that didn't make up for the rest. But it goes beyond ordering one wrong dish. The One Who Loves Kids And Dogs was not happy with her order, either. I honestly can't remember what it was, but we were both left wishing we'd gone to City Cafe instead for a Thursday morning late breakfast. We were also put off by the customers at the next table, whose dishes were being cleared when we were seated. These three women and two children then sat at the table and lingered over their water glasses, not eating or ordering another thing for nearly the full hour and a half that we dined there, talking loudly, passing their phones back and forth to each other, and ignoring the 2 and 4 year olds with them, who were clearly bored, unhappy, cranky, loud and disruptive. I know there are limits to what staff can do in these situations, but neither is the staff powerless to drop subtle hints to move on (e.g. offer to take the check to the register, make frequent stops at the table to see if they want anything more, etc). Instead they just left them alone while the kids screeched and bounced around and under their table. I cant say we won't be back, but I can't say First Watch will be my first choice any more either. read more

Just got back from one of the best breakfast experiences so far living here. The vibe of this place is so great. It's clean, staff are super friendly, free coffee while you wait, and more. Our waiter, Michael, is one of the best I've had here in the area since moving 8 months ago. He made great food recommendations, proactively provided us juice samples (we walked away with two for the road), and he was delightful to speak with. We now live in a world where it has become acceptable to charge almost $5 for a glass of orange juice. Squeezing an orange or opening up a bottle of Minute Maid OJ should not be happening in America. Things like this are the reason that America's population are finding it harder and harder to make ends meet and end up living under a bridge. Also, for some reason there are not bagels served at an establishment that only serves breakfast or lunch. Bagels are an essential part of many Americans mornings. This was my first visit to First Watch, but unless they add bagels to the menu, I'm not sure I will be returning. And let's be real, I have a better shot of growing a third arm than getting first watch to lower it's outrageous OJ prices. But the OJ did taste good. read more

We pulled up and saw a handful of people waiting inside and outside of the building...To me, this is a good sign. The wait time ended up being estimated at 30 minutes and it was spot on. The girls up front were very courteous and friendly to everyone, even with a few of the hungry customers who were very impatient about waiting and kept pestering them about it. You can give your phone # to them and receive a text when your table is ready. In addition, your name will be called as well. A free, little coffee bar is available while you wait. Much appreciated! The inside of the restaurant is in-line with the latest "rustic modern" look. It is on the smaller side but an open concept makes it seem much larger. Once seated, our server was friendly and attentive. Despite my earlier guzzling of coffee, I ordered coffee again (don't judge me!) and was brought my own little coffee pot. An assortment of creamer was already available on the table. I also ordered a "Morning Meditation" juice. Not only was it pretty but tasty with turmeric, orange, ginger, and beets. We quickly ordered as we had already scouted out the menu hanging in the entryway. Great menu, lots of traditional and healthy options. Our food came out quick, hot, and fresh. Had the bacon, avocado omelette with bacon and the potatoes and toast. I was glad to try something different for breakfast than just scrambled eggs or pancakes. Menu has several options for breakfast, brunch or lunch with reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food. It appears they have some limited-time special food items to keep the choices refreshed as well as a standard menu. They have an app to allow ordering before arrival, I think, but I haven't tried it. When we're seated the server was there quickly to get the drink order and not long came back for the order. The food was delivered quickly after being ordered. Will definitely go back. read more

It's decorated nicely and has a nautical theme to it. Once we were seated, we were handed menus and found a plethora of options. I opted to go simple with a chocolate chip pancake and seasoned potatoes. Now, the pancake was delicious. But the potatoes just looked like boiled potatoes with onions. Don't order them, they are disgusting. I was expecting something a lot better than that. The coffee was mediocre, as was the service. Absolutely DELICIOUS!! I could eat there every day !! I got the chia bowl and it was the most tastiest breakfast and the gluten free toast with the peanut butter and sea salt was so good. My daughter got the huge piece of French toast and loved it! I also enjoyed the chai cider (unfortunately they ran out of cinnamon sticks so I only had a tiny piece in it ; a half a stick would make a huge difference. I can't remember what my husband got but I do remember none of us had anything left on our plates by the end of breakfast. There was a wait but definitely worth it !!! Update I've been to this place more than once since my last review and I have to say that their service has definitely improved. I went there most recently with a friend and wanted to change the menu offerings a little bit. They were willing to substitute French toast for the pancakes. As last time, the service was very friendly. The wait to be seated wasn't quite as long as I have experienced in the past, but this definitely is not a place that you want to go to on a time crunch.
