This place never disappoints. TIP: There is usually a wait if you arrive after 10am. There's an app that lets you jump ahead of the line. Use it if you're in a hurry. Food comes out fairly quick and the waiters have all been very attentive. Prices are fair. Best part of this place is the freshness and taste of the food so this place is an obvious gem. I love this place. We had breakfast at the Laurel location before heading for the beach. The place is inviting. A good place to have breakfast or lunch with family and friends. This location is very busy. The wait can ve more than 35min, but it is worth it. Pancakes are humongous. Order them with real maple syrup. Syrup is over $2 but you will love it. Eggs and salmon is also a good choice, oh try the millionaire bacon. My friend said it was delicious. read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Laurel. Some pointers: * Never walk in on a Saturday or Sunday, they will be slammed and you will have to wait a really long time to be seated. Use their App instead to reserve your place in line before you leave your house. Try to arrive around when it says there are 4-6 people in front of you * Once you arrive, have a seat in the waiting area, help yourself to some free coffee with cream and sugar, and enjoy the energy of the place. The ambiance is warm and bright, staff is happy and friendly; and the restaurant is chalk full of diners enjoying the company of friends and family. The food is not going to win any michelin stars, but it is better than the typical diner food. My favorite is The Works omelet. You can get a traditional side of breakfast potatoes with it or opt for fresh fruit or greens. It also comes with a side of extra thick and meaty multi-grain bread - the kind thats hard to even find in a regular grocery store. There is always a generous amount of soft butter pre-spread all over it, instead of you having to mangle the bread trying to spread refrigerated butter over it. Also included is a metal tub with high quality preserves dolloped into it - instead of those cheap plastic jelly's with 3 year shelf lives that sit on the table and get dusty. read more

I had been meaning to visit this place for a while and I finally got a chance to. I'm always looking for great breakfast/brunch restaurants. While the food was what I expected the service wasn't the best. I went on a Saturday morning and waited on my table for more than 45 minutes because I never got the text saying my table was ready. Our waitress not once checked back on us after our food came but we definitely saw her go to her other tables. I never got my water that I had asked for in the beginning until I asked another server to bring it to me and the glass bottle was dirty. Lastly my food was wrong and couldn't even have her take it back since we waited so long for it and she nowhere near to get her attention. I was so hungry I just ended up eating what I got. Customer service stunk to high heaven today. We were in for a holiday celebration on a Tues AM and they were not at all busy. Idk what the excuse was. Service was slow only bc our server was terrible - I won't even cover all the points where she failed us except to say even basic things were missing from our experience. The food was great, though. We've been in here before and had great service, so this was really disappointing. Sigh. Would it kill you to check in on your table regularly and bring them the silverware(or anything!) they requested before they have to go walk around the dining room to find it themselves so they can actually eat the food that was just served to them? Look - the food is reliable. I've never had a bad meal at any First Watch. I went to this one today and the service while nice and personable was so. Damn. Slow. We walked in at 10:15am to a crowd and a hostess shoot in the shit with some people. I had to ask her if I could get on the wait list... hmmm. Should have been a sign but we waited it out. Turns out they could seat all the people waiting immediately if they bothered to a) bus tables in a timely fashion and b) stopped seating two people at tables for four that could be split apart so more tables of two could be sat. It was maddening to watch. Once seated we ordered and it took... 40 mins(!!) to get an order of biscuits and gravy and an order of pancakes and eggs. I could have made it myself faster. Further sitting next to the kitchen, you see things. I watched a waiter put an English muffin in the toaster without gloves and after he had touched all the things (pens, checks, trays etc). Yuck. I like this chain. But I'd suggest that this one isn't the one to go to. Bummer. read more

I had called in to place an order here at this first watch and I love the food here and great service but on 10/11/20 I fell short to that. I had placed a huge order of 94$. I appreciate the lady helping me on the phone because she explained everything it was paired with. I made a few adjustments and asked to be repeated slowly. She got it all right but I'm my two bags that I had I had received 4 orders of what I didn't ask for and missed out on 2 sides and 2 complete orders! Slow day should be better. read more

This is more like a 3.5 rating. I ordered the avocado toast with bacon. The avocado was very salty so I didn't enjoy it at all. The eggs and bacon were good however. My boyfriend ordered the chicken chimichurri and he really enjoyed it. For drinks I got apple juice which was just from a bottle and my boyfriend got an açaí juice which tasted very good. Good food but when it is busy they make big slip-ups. My girlfriend and I had a FirstWatch breakfast for my birthday and while I got everything I ordered, my girlfriend was no so lucky. Her Trifecta came with only pancakes, no bacon, no eggs. Since we ordered through DoorDash, there is nothing that we can do when food is missing since we obviously can't get the missing items delivered. First Watch was very busy so they were not able to answer my phone call either. All in all, it was not worth a headache but still like $8 of food was missing which is no small amount. I've worked in fast food before so I know things get hectic during peak hours, but when a delivery is messed up it is hard to fix. They need to take care and make sure their deliveries are not missing food. The food is not cheap! read more

I've always been a fan of First Watch. This was my first time have a chia seed pudding, it was amazing, but it was over 1000 calories. I tried replicating it at home with little success. It was fairly quick. Another delicious breakfast. Would like to see more vegan options though. read more

Luckily one of the staff members saw me looking clueless and asked if I had been helped and started me off. I would actually give this place more like 3.5 stars. The menu has some nice selections and I went with the egg scramble. Again it took a while for my food to come out, but it was a Sunday and I heard it gets hectic. My meal was yummy and I also got their fresh juice of the day (carrot, orange, lemon, and ginger) which was good as well. I used to frequent the First Watch restaurant in Laurel. Because I live in the Columbia area, I was excited to see that one had opened up here. However I was very disappointed with the service. Upon arriving, we were told that there was a 20 minute wait. The entrance was packed, as there were many people waiting to be seated. I noticed that there were a few empty tables that had not been cleaned. I think if there is a long wait, it's very important to quickly and efficiently get tables cleaned so you can seat guests that are waiting at the door. This was not the case. After 20 minutes, I went up to the host and spoke to the manager. I said "Excuse me, about how much longer is the wait? It's been more than 20 minutes." He replied (in the most condescending tone) "I know... it's been 26 minutes." I was definitely taken aback by his tone and his response. Eventually he decided to have the empty dirty tables cleaned and we were seated, so I got over it. But then... my pancake was burned. At that point, I just ate what I could of my meal, paid and left. But I was very disappointed. This place is not nearly as good as the First Watch in Laurel, MD... in terms of customer service or food. Originally thought this place was a watch repair shop as I'm sure a lot of people do, but once I found out they serve breakfast and brunch, I couldn't wait to try it!. Came here on a whim with my mom on a weekday morning and we were seated immediately. I like the laid-back yet clean and open layout of the restaurant. The greeters and our waitress were nice. My mom ended up having to run out to attend to some business and they had no problem with taking our order and waiting to make it until she was on her way back. While waiting, I ended up having a few sips of coffee. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but do drink it occasionally and the mugs and container were given to us upon being seated. However, I did not know that I would be charged $3 for a cup of coffee that I did not ask for and my mom another $3 for her cup. I thought that this was very outrageous (not only the price but the fact that the coffee was presented without stating that it would be an extra fee and the fact that it was $3 per person meaning if we had drank out of the same cup or I had drank the whole container it would have only been $3 but the fact that we both drank it doubled the price?). Anyways, it didn't make sense to me. I didn't make a scene though and was intent on paying the bill, however I expressed my concern to the greeter and he listened and even took one of the charges off, which I appreciated. On to the actual food, I ordered the waffle, eggs, bacon breakfast and my mom got a similar one with potatoes and toast. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and I was doing my happy food dance. The food was presented nicely. My only gripe would be the plates; they're colored and speckled which I feel could hide if they're dirty but I guess that's a minor issue and would only matter if they're not clean. First Watch is a place I usually see myself going back to. Whenever I go (which is usually in the morning times for breakfast) there are always long lines. However, with the NoWait app that they have it was much easier to be in line from the time I got in the car to when I got there. When we were seated the tables and utensils were always pretty clean, and the service was great. The food was always hot and tasty. Although, recently I went there for lunch on May 10th of 2018. Although seated before another group of ladies for a whole 10 minutes, the server took their order first. After finally coming to our table we placed our order. This FirstWatch in particular does have a lot of variety but if you're used to classical breakfast/brunch/lunch options like I am it can be somewhat difficult to find what you would like. Therefore, I did have some trouble finding what I wanted on the menu. After she finished placing out order she came to bring coffee for my mom. She noticed that the coffee was lukewarm at best and didn't enjoy it. So we just drank the water and lemon that we had asked for. Eventually when our food arrived (it was about 15 minutes) it was made to our liking and was everything that we had wanted. I was somewhat confused on why it took the usual time for it to come our when we had went at around 12:30pm when the place wasn't particularly busy.
