First of all, I feel that I need to address all of the reviews of First Watch that were written by people who clearly don't know how bacon is supposed to be cooked. Saying that bacon isn't supposed to be cooked crisp like a potato chip is like saying the cheese on a pizza shouldn't be melted. If you pick up a piece of bacon and it falls limp over either side of your fork, you, my friend, are eating raw pork. Good luck with that. Million Dollar Bacon: I am a bacon connoisseur. I have eaten all types of bacon all sorts of ways, and have been to bacon festivals and been in bacon eating contests all over the country. This bacon is in the upper echelon of taste. One half of the bacon was cooked perfectly, and the other half off each slice was slightly less cooked. I fear that First Watch may be caving to the above-mentioned weirdoes who like raw pork. Don't listen to them! This bacon is fantastic! I had the Steak & Eggs Hash, with Iced Chai Cider. Both were spectacular. I also had a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy spices were different than what I am used to, but they were still very good. My wife had the Cinnamon Chip Pancake Breakfast. Very crowded so plan ahead. We put our name in and came in closer to our table time and still waited about 10 mins. Food was delicious and staff was extremely friendly. We ordered the bacon and returned it bc it was complete burnt and inedible. Read reviews on it being bad recently but my sister said it was a must. She said the quality of the bacon (thickness etc) has gone down considerably since they opened. The carrot crush was good but I would ask for less ice. Hubby and I went there for a late breakfast on Saturday and discovered an amazing menu filled with deliciousness and infinite options. With their own little twist to some classic dishes, there was absolutely nothing that we didn't like, or felt indifferent about. Even their Tomato Basil soup was to die for. First things first, in times of pandemic this is important info: all servers wore masks and gloves. On our way out, we watched one of the staff thoroughly cleaning their menus - super fun fact, they have their menu on their app, so if you want to be super safe, you can always opt for that instead of the regular physical one. There's also social distancing markings on the floor for when you're waiting for take-outs and paying for your bill. The space was open, welcoming, AC was keeping the space cool enough (it was a hot and humid Saturday afternoon). There was no wait line, and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was absolutely awesome, gave us enough time to get acquainted with the menu and finally pick (which took us about 15 min, yes we're serious when it comes to food). She apologized for our food running later than usual, but we were deep in conversation and enjoying their coffee to realize it - to be fair, they were pretty packed, so even then it would have been understandable. We chose to do the option of choosing a half a sandwich and half a salad so that we could try different things, along with a portion of grits and the tomato basil soup. We hadn't eaten all day, yet, we still couldn't finish our half portions, or the soup. The serving was generous, and the price was fair. It's definitely the kind of place you can find healthier options that actually taste more than just an iceberg, tomato, onion salad. We highly recommend, and will definitely be coming back very soon. Second visit and the food is always really great. The service is always pretty slow but they are incredibly busy and it looks like have large sections I usually go when i have time to relax and eat so I'm ok with that. Today i have the potato hash . I believe farmhouse style ( sorry if I'm wrong) you definitely get your monies worth. I can make breakfast at home. So when I go out, I want to relax, have great service and know that the restaurant I choose to patronize is well rated. This morning I was served by Scarlett. Who did a good job as a server. However, the glass of water I was served had a big glob of something on the rim. Scarlett apologized and brought another. When the meal was served by another staff member, I opened my silverware only to find dried food. At this point I asked for the manager and told her about the uncleanliness. While she did apologize, the apology felt flat and terribly insincere. However, the food presentation was good and only after beginning to eat did I realized the order was incorrect. I brought this to Scarlett's attention and she again apologized and offered to bring the correct item. But since I had already began the meal, I told her to forget about the mistake. Now I don't know about you but three mistakes for one person in one visit is a bit much!! While checking out, the cashier asked how the meal was. I told her that while the meal was good, (still not sure why I ate it) the cleanliness was an issue and that I would not return. She asked if I wanted to see the manager again. I felt that if the manager had wanted to make the situation right, she would have offered to comp my meal if not the other person in my party for the check total. Everything was underwhelming from service, to food, to drinks. Last visit halfway through breakfast we were asked to rearrange how we were seated (party of 3) because they had to seat another group that would not have given the 6 ft distance between customers. As I looked around plenty of other tables did not have 6ft between them. We complied but a few mins later we were asked to shift our entire table about 1.5 ft spilling our drinks in the process. Its almost like we were being forced to finish quickly despite the fact that we waited 20 mins to be seated and another 20+ mins for our food. Summer crab omelette for her (and let's face it for me too) and million dollar bacon, a bargain at $4.99! Serving breakfast, brunch and dinner this is really what this area needs. The omelette was light and fluffy with just the right amount of crab and the bacon was peppery and sweet at the same time. Coffee is brought to your table in stay hot pots and there's even an area you can dine outside with soon to be installed canopies. The portions are of good size and they offer a regular menu and a small seasonal one. Healthy breakfast bowls are also available but did I mention the million dollar bacon?! I mean who doesn't like bacon or a million dollars? I'm thinking about rewriting that bare naked ladies song 'If I had a million dollars' to 'If I had million dollar bacon' it was that good. My first time here & I had the Bacado (Bacon Avacado omelet with greens, sour cream & pico). It was delicious. Bacon was not crispy, so if you like that you should specify. Very good flavors. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The water has a good filtered freshness. I'm low-carbing it so I only had a bite of the toast but it was a nice fresh multigrain. Quick caveat to the following review: at this particular location, I picked up and the process was easy and all the staff appeared to be wearing masks. So, this is not a reflection of the limited interaction I had with this restaurant, but First Watch in general. First Watch seems to be the apex of the failure of the commodified chain restaurant industry. The food is simply not good. It's not terrible, but it's basically a hair better than fast food quality, and at exorbitant prices. For instance, a single Belgian waffle that is identical in taste to one you'd make at a Days Inn free continental breakfast, will set you back $8.50. I had their seasonal hash, which was about 75% potatoes, for a cool $11+. The greasiest spoon diner would deliver more flavor for less money, and certainly less pretentiousness. It's so strange to me that Americans seem to prefer bland food at chains that exist to enrich shareholders over better food at local establishments. I had limited choices this morning, but will make the right choice next time: cooking at home. read more

I took the cinnamon roll home with me 3 weeks ago it did not have that gooey sweet stuff on it, it was in the bag separately and I threw it out. I bought another today as take out after a great meal. I just tried to scrap the stuff off along with the cereal and it's not coming off easily. Cut a small piece and it's not fresh. The first one soft and delicious, bad choice today...NOT HAPPY!!! If this place were open for supper, I'd be there. As it is, I was there in July had a fantastic salad. It was the Sweet Honey Pecan salad. I love salads that loaded with lots of little bits of crunchy things. This one was generous with the bacon and chicken. Saturday Morning and time to try out a new place. First Watch is a place I drove past Las week and the place I'll stop at this morning. Upon walking in I was immediately struck with That Hipster Vibe that I am not a huge fan of. The faux rustic look screams hipster to me. Cast Iron on the walls drives me nuts. Cast Iron belongs in the kitchen not on the walls. This wasn't even vintage cast iron either. First Watch has a unique menu for sure. They have the usual offering such as: Egg dishes; Omellettes; Waffles; and Pancakes but not in the way most are used to. Seems like any chance they had to add an item from Earthfare across the parking lot they did. Items such as beet toast and chai pancakes to ingredients including farrow, wheat germ, avocado, hummus, crimini mushroom, granola, whole grains, goat cheese, zucchini, and kale that scream hipster. Don't get me wrong. These are fine but much like beards, beer, coffee, thick rimmed glasses, and wool, they have all been overdone and almost ruined by The Hipster. I am more the Old Diner, Greasy Spoon, or Truck Stop Breakfast type Guy and I had a hard time finding something more Traditional. Look, all this is simply a difference of opinion concerning atmosphere so I can't let that affect my thoughts on the service and meal I had this morning. First off, the employees were all very friendly. It was early and I got right in. The hostess seated me and handed me two menus. Hmmm, two menus? The small one on top had the beet toast and hummus. That's different, I thought to myself...appetizers offered for breakfast. I set that one aside. Not long after hitting the seat I was greated by my server and she had a coffee thermos in hand and brought a glass milk jug of cold water. The coffe was good. Much better than most in this area. I ordered the Farmhouse Skillet Hash. It only took about 10 minutes for my food to arrive and it looked good. Small and plated up kind of artsy but good. Nice thick well buttered whole grain oat toast. This was a plus because I cannot stand the toast arriving with a tiny bit of butter or those little butter packs you put on yourself that won't melt into the toast because it isnt warm enough by the time you received it. The hash was pretty good too. I have no doubt that the ingredients were fresh and you could taste it. I have to admit that although it was a portion of the smaller size, it tasted pretty good. A poor review wouldn't be fair just because it wasn't my type of atmosphere, menu, or clientele. Based off of the meal I had and the employees that I dealt with on this visit, this was a pretty good meal. If Hipster is your Vibe, you'll love First Watch. read more

So stinkin' cute! Although this place is a chain, it doesn't have that kind of feeling. I felt like I stepped into an HGTV version of a breakfast/lunch restaurant complete with the cutest coffee stand I've ever seen (helpful if there's a wait), pendant lights, and open shelves with chic accessories separating the dining area from the kitchen. Our waitress was incredibly nice, funny, and patient - we made her come back three times before the fella knew what he wanted to order. That wasn't because the menu is overwhelming; that's because everything looked good. In the end, the fella went with the farmhouse skillet hash (10.99), and I went with the healthy turkey (9.99) because I'm trying to dial it down post-vacation. Both our meals were great, but I kept drooling over the waffles and french toast as they came out of the kitchen. And my favorite part was that they leave the pot of coffee on the table for you! No more stopping servers every 5 minutes to ask for a refill. Hallelujah! There's a group table if you have a bigger party, and parking is easy since it shares(ish) a lot with other businesses including Earth Fare. We have been here several times and the food is great. The problem Is the service keeps getting worse. This morning we arrived after checking in on Yelp and were seated within 10 minutes. We were greeted and our order was taken. We ordered the million dollar bacon but it wasn't delivered because, as the waitress explained, it was delivered to another table. My daughter has a severe food allergy and she was very specific with her breakfast tacos - no avocado. Nearly 30 minutes later when our order finally arrived, the tacos had avocado on them. They were promptly sent back and she still did not have anything to eat for another 20 minutes. It took several requests for them to finally bring her food. I tried to engage the manager but he provided no help. Nobody came and apologized or tried to do anything to make the situation righ There are several places in Fort Mill where we can get a good breakfast. Service like this is making it harder and harder to come to here UPDATE MAY 2020 - Trying to help out local restaurants during these times but a simple take out order is taking longer than an hour after they said it would be ready. Wonderful brunch. Had a Market skillet that was perfect. Love the whole grain toast. My friend had the lemon ricotta pancakes...nice dollop of lemon curd. Place was super busy and Jenna was very gracious. Took excellent care of us. Next time you get upset about a long wait, just remember that tables that don't turn in a reasonable amount of time means minimal tips for the servers. And it isn't something they have control over. So don't get grumpy with them. We were very pleased with our service and food. Tip of the day...go online and do a "check in" ahead of time. It limits your wait time at the restaurant. read more
