We've visited this restaurant multiple times and always leave satisfied. The food is consistently delicious, filling, and served in generous portions. They use fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It remains one of our favorite breakfast places, offering healthy and tasty options.

Let me start by saying the food is amazing, the place itself is very well done. The problem is the service. This old lady was running like crazy but the younger server was one minute with us and then gone. She was looking at her phone behind the counter. I would come back here. But I want younger servers to pick up their slack. I had to request fresh milk or half and half with coffee. They had those cheap half n half pods at the tables.

Sliced ham in omelette was cold, potatoes were hot & good. Toast was hot & good. Coffee was good. Waffle was a 5. Clean & bright.

We're regulars at the First Watch in Fairfax, and for good reason--the service is consistently fantastic, and the food never disappoints. The team here is always welcoming, efficient, and genuinely friendly, which makes every visit feel like a treat. This morning, we tried the Elevated Egg Sandwich and the new Wild Berry Lavender French Toast--both were delicious. The sandwich was perfectly balanced with savory flavors and just the right amount of richness, while the French toast was a showstopper: light, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with a hint of floral sweetness that really set it apart. It's clear the staff take pride in what they do, and that quality shines through in every part of the experience. Whether you're a regular or just passing through, this First Watch is a breakfast spot worth coming back to again and again.

Chocolate chip pancake and Farmhouse Hash

Although this place is a chain, I continue to come back. They have a great variety, sweet and savory breakfast options. It's typically busy on the weekends however they let you join the waitlist which makes the time go by faster. Their pancakes are one of my favorite, they also have sugar-free syrup available.

This location is a bit out of the way for me but with the drive. Everytime I go the wait time (if busy) is no more than 15 minutes or we're seated right away. I got the frittata and my partner had the trifecta. We also shared some million dollar potatoes (I think). Absolutely delicious. This location definitely draws an older crowd, college kids, older couples, adults really so it's a nice calm ambiance with people just enjoying a meal. Located in a rich shopping center so plenty to do in case there is a wait time. Love first watch drinks too - super refreshing.

A happening, friendly and delicious restaurant. Wait times were super reasonable and they have a coffee station to help you wait out until you're seated. A wide open menu offers everything you can imagine for breakfast from pancakes to egg white vegetarian omelettes. Endless coffee is fresh brewed and delicious with your own carafe delivered that holds 4-6 cups. Service is quick and friendly. Food is served beautifully and piping hot. Nothing premade about this place. Pumpkin pancakes were a big hit and best of all tasted natural not like the over top pumpkin flavor you often get this time of year. Egg white triathlete omelet was perfection when coupled with the spicy salsa provided. This is definitely a new favorite for me. Neat piece. They deliver your bill and you can pay with your phone by scanning a QR code on the bill. So easy and fast as heck. Keeps the server foot traffic down shuttling credit cards. Nice!

Hard boiled eggs on a benedict?
Jenny P.

First Watch continues to disappoint me every time I come back. This is the third time I've ordered an Eggs Benedict and have received basically hard boiled eggs. It had already taken about 20 minutes for our food to come out so sending it back and ordering another one was not an option. I just don't understand how this happens considering you can tell if a poached egg is overcooked just by touching it.

Don't come here on a Sunday at noon. Also the online website line reservation system is not real. You get in line when you check in with the host. Also they don't have espresso or steam milk for cappuccinos or lattes. The food was overpriced dennys quality, Sysco goods

Their food and drinks are good and their staff is nice but it's always crowded. I highly recommend you make a reservation online before you go out there. If not, you will be waiting for 40 minutes. If you make a reservation online, you still have to confirm your reservation when you get there and wait another 10 minutes or so. I started off with a beet, carrot, and green juice. It was refreshing. Then I had the lemon ricotta pancakes, which are so delicious! Then I had the scramble eggs with brisket and potatoes. It was good but it could use more brisket, hence why I didn't put it in the post. I will definitely be back You do have to come with patience as they did forget my main dish. It was crowded and chaotic

Stopped in at First Watch for breakfast this past week. The place was ridiculously busy for a Thursday morning. I had to wait a few minutes for a table - less than 5 minutes. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. It is served with toasted Ciabatta bread - and your choice of dressed greens or roasted potatoes. I went with the taters option. And coffee. The food came out in about 10 minutes or so. The Frittata was slightly overcooked and slightly under seasoned - for my palate. I added a bit of salt and cracked black pepper, plus a good bit of hot sauce (I put hot sauce on any and all egg dishes (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes, quiche, frittatas, etc.). Overall, it tasted very good. The roasted potatoes were also good - I had 3 or 4 potato cubes that were underdone - kind of weird considering all the rest were nicely cooked/roasted. I added some salt and ketchup to the taters. Service was good. You can pay at the register - or scan the QR code on the receipt - and pay via your smart phone. I opted for this payment method - works very well! #FIrstWatch

I thought their elevated egg sandwich was delicious however the chimichanga chicken was too salty for me. The service was pretty good.

The actual restaurant feels massive but decorated in a rustic way. I want to give a huge shout out to Alicia. She is such a knowledgeable, approachable, and receptive server. She was on top of refilling drinks, making sure we weren't left alone for too long when we were waiting for our food to come, and just had an overall amazing energy. While we really enjoy all of the servers we've had at Mikes, Alicia takes the cake. If there's any way to provide her with recognition, I would highly vouch for it. She could sell me anything on that menu with that kind of personality! Thank you, Alicia! I'm going to make sure we try to get seated at your table again.

I visited Mike's American after coming across it on Resy and was able to get a same-day reservation…read morefor two on Easter Sunday. As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.

Definitely make reservations before you go because this place gets packed! We ordered the chicken biscuit gravy with chorizo, and it was absolutely delicious. We also had the MMT Breakfast, which gave us a little sample of everything. The homemade biscuits were amazing, and the bacon was not that cheap, flimsy kind -- it was thick, flavorful, and so good that we added extra bacon. The price was just right, the ambiance was great, and even though parking can be a challenge, the staff was super helpful in telling us where we could park. It's also not far from DCA airport and close to other great restaurants and scenery. I hate that I forgot to take pictures of our meal, but we were so hungry and the food was too good to stop! We were seated inside, which had a decent amount of seating. I thought the restaurant was cute, and it had a nice ambience. We ordered several dishes, starting with the cajun crawfish Mac & cheese, crab stuffed oysters, and charred spring vegetables. All 3 starters were delicious, with my favorite being the crab stuffed oysters. The Mac & cheese was a close second - it was nicely seasoned and perfectly au dente. The vegetables were also very good, and the pita it came with was great. On the breakfast menu, we ordered the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Both were very good. I haven't had many chicken and waffles, but the chicken was tasty with the hot honey. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful. If I had to pick one though, I would probably pick the shrimp and grits. The service was solid, she was very friendly and came back a decent number of times. I would 100% come back again!

Vast | Service | Variety…read more Vast -- This is a very large restaurant. It's deceptively spacious. From the outside, it looks like it seats maybe 75-100 people, but once you walk in, you realize it's easily 2.5 times that size. The layout feels open without being overwhelming, which helps it handle the crowds well. Service -- We had excellent service, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. We had a primary waiter, but 3-4 other staff members also stopped by throughout the meal to make sure everything was going smoothly. Whether it was refilling waters, checking on our infant child, or making sure our food arrived on time, the staff was consistently attentive and helpful. Variety -- The menu offers a wide range of both drinks and food. The wine list, in particular, is extensive. There are plenty of options for both lunch and dinner, with a strong mix of à la carte selections and traditional entrées. There's enough variety that most people should be able to find something they'll enjoy. Pro tip -- The restaurant is located inside a very busy mall area, so street parking can be limited. Plan to add a little extra time to your commute and parking search. Pro tip -- There are approximately 10-15 Tesla charging stations within walking distance, making this a convenient spot to grab a meal while charging your EV. Pro tip -- Public transit options to this area are somewhat limited, so driving is likely the easiest way to get there.
