Solid every time. Breakfast or lunch both are amazing. I have favorites but mostly everything is fixed perfectly every time at each location. It's shocking how consistent they are. Occasionally you get some fruit that isn't ripe or a fork that isn't clean but seriously it barely ever happens. I take friends, family and clients here all the time.... Beechmont, Hyde park and downtown. Best item is the banana crunch pancakes and kale tonic. read more

First watch is delicious. My regular order from here is the chicken salad melt, which in my opinion is some of the best chicken salad in the city. I love that you get a little bit of everything in this meal.... a little salad, a little fruit, a few potatoes and a delicious sandwich. One of my go-to places. read more

First Watch is the kind of place that makes breakfast and lunch the way YOU would make it if you had access to unlimited ingredients all the time. It is honestly difficult to describe First Watch's menu because it is so diverse. They have all the traditional breakfast options but have several unique twists if you're game. They also have an entire portion of the menu dedicated to healthy options, which is a huge plus in my book. I love the tri-athlete omelet, the power wrap, and the lean machine. Last time I was there, I tried a bacon-cheddar pancake that was every bit as good as a McGriddle. If you are planning on going to First Watch on a Saturday or Sunday, be prepared to wait for a while. That being said, Rookwood offers plenty of cool stores to look in (there is a cool bookstore next door) while you wait. read more

Never disappointed on there breakfast. I went with my girlfriend Toey for breakfast here. I ate at the First watch in Crestview hills, it was good. My girlfriend never been here. I always ordered the avocado egg with diced potatoes my favorite I take the English muffin and make a breakfast sandwich....yummmmy. She ordered a breakfast sandwich. I took a bite of it, it was good. This is one of my favorite breakfast places besides Crackle Barrel. I will be back. read more

I realize that First Watch is a chain, but it's about the best breakfast I've had at a chain restaurant in a good long while. The options are extensive and all the food I've had there has been delicious. Best yet, they leave the coffee pot on your table - it's like they know me! This is truly a home town staple for Cincinnati. Their omelets are to die for. I always start with fresh coffee, followed by a small cup of fresh squeezed OJ. I usually go with the Acapulco Express omelet and get it with only egg whites. The chorizo sausage and fresh avocado makes for the perfect blend. This is all topped with fresh salsa. I always enjoy the breakfast potatoes and freshly toasted english muffins. Their jam for the muffins is amazing! We also tried the new Chickichanga which had whipped eggs with chorizo sausage and fresh white meat chicken. All of this was engulfed with fresh cheddar cheese. I've never had to wait at this restaurant, but then, every time I've visited it's been an "off" hour. The food here is excellent, but the prices are way too high. Yes, the food is healthy, not all that greasy fried food, but it's still too pricey. Give the price, I'd expect the portions to be huge, but they're mediocre at best. The only thing that really fills you up is pancakes or a waffle, and that's because it's starch. read more

This is easily my place of choice for breakfast. The price is a bit higher than I prefer to pay per person for a breakfast, but really the food and the specials cannot be beat. The product is consistently excellent, although the dining room is also consistently busy! Busy, busy, busy!! Be prepared for a wait on the weekend. However, despite the wait, the servers are always attentive and friendly, and the food is fresh and fulfilling. My go-to here is the Caps, etc (Crimini mushrooms roasted and topped with shredded cheese), but I've tried the omlettes and some of the other specialty dishes - everything I've had here has been perfect. read more

We were traveling through the area and stopped for breakfast on a laid-back Sunday morning about an hour after they opened. There were several cars in the parking lot but inside there was plenty of room to still feel like private dining. The waitress was very quick and attentive even though we were in no hurry. The food came out quickly, everyone had a smile on their face, the place was clean, and the food tasted great. Not much more you could ask for. read more

We had the most delicious meal today. Unable to decide between the seasonal specials we chose all of them. The mushroom and squash frittata was outstanding. This is my wife and I go to spot for breakfast. We eat here nearly every Friday. My favorites include the Trifecta with waffle and bacon, Ham and Tomato Benedict, and Cinabun (seasonal) pancake when they have it. My wife really likes the AB&J waffle and the trifecta as well. My wife is a vegetarian and they are always willing to modify her plates to suit. The wait staff has always been friendly and service excellent for us. Weekdays are much better than trying to get in on a Saturday or Sunday. read more

Unsafe food practices observed from frontline. 2 cooks repetitively touched face, wiped sweat, scratched head, wiped nose in view of us without changing gloves. They just continued serving! Terribly unsafe and the board of health should drop in. read more

While the food is good, I'm extremely disappointed with the service and host stand. Our mother is diabetic and after seeing only a 21 minute wait, I put my name in the line. We arrived only a few minutes later and checked in and they quoted us 15-17 minutes, GREAT...NOT! We waited 15 minutes and after checking in with the host, they quoted us 21-26 minutes! That puts our wait at 36-42 minutes, DOUBLE what we were quoted. I spoke to the man at the host stand with glasses and scruff stating that we were given an incorrect quoted wait time. With our mom diabetic, this was causing a huge health concern, and we chose this venue based on the short wait. I am usually a huge fan of First Watch, but after the exchange of "I can't help you with your problem and you will just have to wait", fully acknowledging that there was a diabetic in danger, I will never come back here ever again. Either estimate your wait better... or be respectful of this type of situation but they did neither and you have lost our business. Extremely poor business practice and too many other options to ever come back. read more

Normally first watch hits the mark each time but the last two times I have been to this location it's terrible on the service. I don't know if it's peak times they can't handle or what but just a smile and I'm sorry would be nice for when they mess up. Today after inputting our reservation in on the app that they promote and waiting 1 hour, we go to check on our table bc it said no more wait for us on the app "YAY" we thought! To our surprise we walk in and the male host asked our names and we said, he looked and said he didn't have it, we said it was mobile app and here is where I started to cringe at his lack of empathy for my caffeine deprivation. He said oh our app is down.. it's ok it's only 15 minutes, he proceeds to write our name at the end of the list. I said we already waited and hour and he proceeded to say it's only 15 minutes. No apologies no empathy, just a dismissive comment about it only bc 15 min. My suggestion here is don't be dismissive and rude to people, that's rude and impolite when your service is lacking. We finally were sat and our waitress was wonderful. Food was great so it ended well but began terrible. A different process should be reviewed for mobile app issues and then of course overall customer service when things don't go as planned. read more

I had the special Italian Benedict which was amazing. The hash my partner got was disappointing. Restaurant was under construction so can't comment on facility. Also their text system while waiting for tables was not working and they didn't make any announcements to anyone that is wasn't working, found that strange. Went there this morning to meet a friend, and was very disappointed. I ordered the steel cut oatmeal, and it was not good. It tasted like an instant pouch of maple and brown sugar oatmeal with some fruit and nuts on top. Definitely not worth $10, and not something I would ever order again. Service was ok, but the waitress was really rushing us. I understand that Sunday mornings are busy, but we should be allowed to have a nice breakfast even if there is a wait at the door. There are so many other places nearby that offer better food, better service, and an overall better experience. Don't waste your time here. read more

I would be remiss to not put in a great word for this location and the special service of Chris who is a longtime waiter here. My in laws have long visited this location and always requested Chris' area to sit. He would bring my father in law his whipped cream with hot chocolate. I say that because the more whipped cream the better for Jack. Whenever we visited, we would have to go to First Watch and sit in Chris' area as well. Ten months ago my father in law was diagnosed with cancer. He made as many visits as possible (due to his health) on Sunday mornings during this time. Chris was there with a smile and quick service with their favorite dishes. He and "the other Kris" from the Harrison location even visited Jack at home during his illness. One week ago on February 27th, 2018, Jack passed away. This past Sunday, March 4, 2018, twelve family members joined Jack's beloved wife of 57 years for brunch at First Watch. We had a seat at the head of the table left for Jack. And our server was Chris. He served us with a smile albeit I could tell there were some tears in his eyes. The service was quick. Jack's children and wife toasted Jack with our whipped cream and hot chocolates. When it came time for the bill, we didn't receive one. That super kind waiter Chris covered our bill (for thirteen people). He did it for Jack and his beautiful bride. He did it for one of his favorite customers. He did it because Jack had always come and requested Chris as his server. And Jack always left with a smile as did all his children on that beautiful morning. Chris also slipped in to see Jack when we all celebrated his life at his funeral the following day. Thank you First Watch and thank you Chris. We will all be back again. read more

This was an excellent choice for families where taste may vary. We ordered waffles which were warm and fluffy, pancakes, omelets, potatoes and bacon. All were above par although the portions seemed smaller than normal. Visited on Sunday around 11 am and had about an hour wait. If you don't have the time to wait on a weekend or can't make it early I would look for other options to avoid frustration and perhaps visit midweek. Service was fast and thorough, with our dining experience being half of the wait. read more

No Stars. Breakfast this morning was inedible. The omelet was made from some pre-whipped egg mixture. The eggs were the color of unripe bananas which is impossible if the eggs are fresh. I asked and was told the omelets are not made with fresh eggs. They are made from pre mixed eggs. What a shame. FirstWatch used to make them with real eggs. Disgusting!!! read more

First watch has always been a favorite of mine up until my last couple of visits to this particular Hyde Park location. Today, I order the pesto chicken quinoa bowl with smoked salmon. It was very tasty but to my surprise there was chunks of glass throughout my dish. I didn't realize this until I took a couple of bites and experienced some sharps pains on my tongue and jaw. The dish is served with feta so until I looked closely I didn't realize that there were chunks of white glass all through the dish. To me this is a huge sign of neglect. Maybe a dish was broken where food was being prepared and the cooks lacked in the clean up area. Regardless of what the matter is no one deserves to go sit down and pay to swallow glass! They didn't have a manager on duty so I guy came over and said "my name is Mike I'm acting as the manager today". After having glass in your food that is the last thing you want to hear! I was very disappointed and upset with my visit! Someone needs to be spoken to, accidents happen but glass in a guests food should not be taken lightly. read more
