I've been here a few times and had a great experience each time! They do get busy so be prepared to wait for the goodness, don't worry, it's worth it. I had the hacienda hash and watermelon wake up juice. It was so good! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, the sauces were a little spicy but excellent. My guest had the Barbacoa Benedict and purple haze, she said it was perfection! My server, DaVita was so courteous she was quick to take our order and provide us with anything we requested. Been to a few First Watch locations and this was typical of most locations. This location was very nice with lots of windows to view the outside. My wife and I almost always order the same thing every time. She gets the avocado toast and I get the smoked salmon Benedict. She enjoyed her avocado toast very much but I thought the salmon Benedict was rather bland for some reason. The smoked salmon didn't have much flavor and the hollandaise wasn't that tasty either. The potatoes were fine, but I've had better. The service was good although between ordering and getting our meal the server disappeared for awhile when we wanted to order water. read more

My favorite go to restaurant. I love this place. It's clean, airy, open and very pleasing to my eyes. The staff are very efficient and nice. It's good for families with or with out children and for the worker bees like me. The food is always delicious and presentation is well done. You could never go wrong with any of the food in the menu. I love ordering different kinds to surprise myself and enjoy. Ordered a traditional breakfast and it was delivered without the eggs. Waited 20more minutes for the eggs to show up. Can't blame it on short staffing because there are loads of staff loitering around. Definitely not focused on customer service at this location. Honestly I was super excited to have this location open to enjoy their food like the one in Williamsburg. I was sadly disappointed that they did not meet the same standards. Their bacon was not evenly cooked. I got one piece that was delicious and crisp the other that was practically burnt. The chocolate chip pancake was good but again a bit burnt. The eggs over medium were nice and tasty. The hot cocoa was absolutely delicious and perfection. Went with my boyfriend and he said his food was delicious. The service was wonderful and that is what saved it. The whole restaurant is beautiful themed to farmhouse chic and carried through perfectly. Meh. Just meh. We really wanted to like this place. I have tried 4 times and every time I swear it's my last. Today was my final visit. Everything I have tired is just tasteless and devoid of any seasoning. Being a brunch centered restaurant, you would assume the bloody mary, or any brunch cocktails, would be top notch. This is not the case at First Watch. The bloody mary was a sad pint glass of bland tomato juice with a soggy piece of bacon in it. The staff is super nice and friendly but the food needs a jolt of flavor, badly. I'm leaving hungry and annoyed. This new branch in Chesapeake had just opened recently so when we put our names in at 10:45 AM, we got told it would be around an hour wait. Not bad, we waited outside as it was a nice day. There was a server/host who popped out and asked if there was a group of 4 or more available as they had a free table. This confused me because I thought that First Watch operated on reservations and being on a waitlist. From putting our name in at 10:45 we only got to sit down at 12:25 PM--almost a two hour wait. Good thing we had already looked over the menu and ordered as soon as we sat. I got the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito, my husband got the Classic Eggs Benedict and my stepdad got the Turkey Sausage and Biscuits. I forgot to take a picture but we also got the pancakes to share. I ordered the Purple Haze drink cause it looked pretty and had coffee. The coffee, great. They offered different kinds of creamer but only Sugar in the Raw for sweetener. The Purple Haze drink was a light refreshing drink--kinda like a floral lemonade. On to the meals. A quick disclaimer, not sure if we were just hungry because of the almost two hour wait but we scarfed down our meals pretty quickly. The burrito was very tasty and the sauce it came with was the perfect amount of heat. The avocado was fresh and the eggs and potatoes were cooked well. The carnitas was just ok, and the black beans were a bit too much for my liking (I just never really gravitate towards beans so its more of a me problem). My husband really liked his eggs benedict but he wishes that he ordered a different side than the salad it automatically came with. My stepdad's plate was clean, so I took that as a sign that it was great. The pancakes had a crispy bottom which was a nice touch. Overall the place and meals were great but hopefully after a few weeks the crowds will die down and we can come back and review the place again. read more

This establishment is new to the Chesapeake area. I absolutely love the vibe of this place. As with all things new, the place is BUSY. BUT the food will keep you coming back. We ordered protein pancakes for the kids and they demolished them. They offer mimosa flights and pitchers. This is a breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant and the hours reflect that. If you know you know just order THE bacon you can thank me later. First Watch offers the usual breakfast/brunch/lunch fare with a healthy twist. Here you can get freshly squeezed juices, açaí bowls, hearty salads, and lots fresh veggies. The staff here is very professional, every server knows the menu which is helpful when there are so many delicious meals to choose from. Decided to come to this location after trying our another location. It gets full QUICK! We had to wait a little longer than ideal for our food and by the time the food arrived, our stomachs were already full from our drinks. The food however was hot and delicious and ide even say it was worth the wait. It's busy but not insanely so... and yet we (3 of us) ordered our food 47 minutes ago... and nothing. We did the virtual waiting for 45 mins prior to coming here as well and had to wait another 15 when we got here. Stood at the check in desk without being acknowledged for about 5 mins. And now just waiting and waiting for our breakfasts. If it's going to be an hour wait for food AFTER you're seated then they should give a heads up. It's nice to get more brunch places in Chesapeake. It's in the up-and-coming area of Greenbrier. First of all, this place can get very busy, and I love that you can join the waitlist online. Parking can get a little tight, but you can park in the parking garage that is closeby and a quick walk. There is definitely a variety of items on the menu to choose from and caters to everyone. I love that they take into consideration many dietary restrictions. They also have several specials on the board as well. I usually get a skillet or eggs benedict, and my food has usually come out pretty quickly. Service can be spotty, I've had to flag down servers multiple times. I like the convenience of First Watch, but there are definitely other better places for brunch. read more

Visited First Watch on a busy Sunday and for 10 in the morning, the place was packed! So a little noisy was expected, but I give this place its props! They were punctual, fast service. Attentive, and super friendly. The place was also very clean and looked very modern and well decorated. The outside seating was so cool as well. A massive open window that opened up to a connected outside bar seating for such an amazing day with the perfect weather. And again with it being busy, the food came fast and was amazing!!! After waiting a long time to even be seated then a huge time after ordering the food the least they could do is make sure it's hot or at least warm?! 2. Portions are small for price. My adult trifecta combo came out looking the same size as my kid's meal. 3. Prices aren't even accurate! Look at your check- they tried to charge me 14+ for this dish that the menu specifically says is 11.49?! They said they updated their prices recently but all the menus they're using have the same prices....so they're charging customers for one price but making them think it's a different price with the menus they hand you. Kinda shady. Then they charged me 1.99 extra to add a tiny bit of cheese onto the egg. The waitress didn't mention an upcharge for cheese and the menu doesn't either so a meal (one pancake, half a cup of potatoes and one scrambled egg) that I thought would cost 11.49 actually rang up for 16+. I don't mind extra charges for cheese but it's outlandish to not let the customer know about them until they come to pay. 4. Huge wait- like 1-2hrs- says you can get in line on website but Chesapeake isn't even listed on there and you have to use the app. 5. Tons of flies in the restaurant 6. Table we were sat at wasn't even wiped down, there was spilled food and drink still on it. I've been waiting for this location to finally open its doors! The fam came here on a Saturday mid-morning for brunch. The parking lot is a bit awkward as it sits away from the main lot. There is a large parking garage right there on the premises but since construction is still going on, it isn't open at the moment. They were pretty busy, but we were able to get on the list by giving them our cell phone number and the wit totaled 30 minutes. Our server Kariana (I think that's right) was absolutely darling. I was the only one who's been before so we needed extra time to make our minds. Hubby went a little crazy on the drinks: he ordered a purple haze and a kale tonic. He loved them both. I ordered a BLT benedict. It was delicious. Picture this: grilled ciabatta bread, on top tomato, avocado, bacon, arugula with lemon, eggs with hollandaise sauce on top. This was wonderful. It was delicious. I asked for scrambled eggs instead of poached, the eggs were fried, but no worries, it was still good. Our little one had the kids chocolate chip pancake and sausage. He was happy and satisfied. Hubby ordered the elevated egg sandwich. Egg, avocado, cheese, bacon on a brioche bun served with potatoes. He loved this as well. It wasn't busy when I visited; however, the service was very slow. The bacon was over cooked, the cold brew coffee was watery, the lemon ricotta pancakes were good and so were the French toast. The potatoes were also over cooked (burnt hard pieces). I was provided with pork sausage that were cold--the grease was formed solid inside of the sausages. I don't see myself ever visiting this location, but will visit another location since I always hear great things about other locations. read more

After picking up our car at the local port, we decided to drop by here for a quick breakfast before hitting the road to head home. Upon walking in, we were quickly seated and drink orders taken. I ended up ordering their mimosa which was super tasty. I loved that they bring the little champagne bottle out for you to pour yourself however strong you want your drink. I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits from the spring menu and it turned out delicious. I will say it was quite oily but I loved the flavors and the large shrimp. Went here the day of my dads birthday which was a delightful treat for us both! We brought our car to this establishment right after Sunday mass and had a great time celebrating another year of life. I had a breakfast burrito and substituted the seasonal fruit for black beans to accompany my side potatoes. My dad had an egg and veggie frittata and we both had freshly made cocktails that were the best part of the meal! He had a coffee cocktail and I had a green one which provided a healthy dose of morning fructose. The dining area was busy but we didn't have to wait long for a seat. My husband and I had breakfast at First Watch on Sunday morning, 3/19/23. We were told by the hostess the wait was 30 to 45 minutes and they would text us when the table was ready. Well the wait was 45 minutes. Once seated we waited another 20 minutes to be greeted by our server. We both ordered the Tri-fecta. My breakfast was served with one Belgian waffle and my husbands with one pancake. It took 49 minutes for the food to get to the table and it was cold. The butter was not melting on my waffle. Twenty minutes later the server came back to check and I voiced my concerns. She asked if I wanted it recooked or another meal but by then I was no longer hungry, full off coffee an water. I drank part of a Coke - what a horrible experience. Prior to getting the food my husband and I discussed doing call ahead seating the next time. However, we will not be visiting the establishment again. I gave 2 stars because the server was gracious enough to take my meal off the bill. The bill came to $35.00 for 2 coffees, 2eggs over easy, fried potatoes, 1 pancake, bacon, 1 orange juice, this is my husbands meal. Overpriced and disappointing. I ordered the Eggs Benedict BLT The poached eggs came with a fully cooked yolk...overcooked. I guess it is the safe approach for a restaurant, but it was unexpected and warrants discussion or notice on the menu. The bacon was sparse. It's tough to find the right balance of price and product delivered. I would recommend a more forthright approach...a picture is worth a thousand words...the menu lets them be skimpy with the bacon. In the end it was good...but far from the best I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was good and the avocado was fresh. Another slice of bacon and not overcooked eggs would get a glowing recommendation from me. As is, I think it's too loud and so so effort at a classic American breakfast. read more
