The service we receive from Christi, Olivia, Meg, Jessica, Beth, Abigail, and Charla has always been excellent. Jeff and his staff run a first class operation that makes it enjoyable to dine there. Sunday morning breakfast with the family. Busy restaurant with a small wait. Staff was pleasant, friendly and attentive. Enjoyed free coffee while we waited. I got the traditional breakfast with eggs, choice of meat (I got 4 slices of bacon), potatoes and thick slice of toast. My daughter got the banana pancakes. Son got the tri-fecta breakfast with eggs, turkey sausage and chocolate chip pancake. We all shared and sampled the assortment of foods we had. I'm sooooooo happy they opened a first watch in Hixson. The decor is vintage industrial and it's beautiful. They have both outside and indoor seating. They're consistently busy but it's relatively easy to get a table. We got the Floridian French Toast, the eggs Benedict Florentine, and the morning meditation juice. I'm all about this place; especially the new location on Hwy 153 in Hixson (I just live a couple miles down the road!). Tasty food for breakfast with a healthy kick. I'm not a big organic food eater but I do enjoy knowing what I'm taking in is good for me. The atmosphere is good but if you're coming, choose early before it opens or mid-morning because it's always packed. At least they provide a newspaper to read if you have to wait. read more

You know how they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? I should have thought about that before going to yet another First Watch with any sort of expectations. As with most of my previous visits at their Chattanooga locations, they have good food, but crappy service. After being seated, it took a while for our server to come over and then a while again to get our drinks. I let those small waits go, but was super annoyed when our food took over 30 minutes and we barely saw our server once during that time. I couldn't even inquire about our food as she never stopped by the table! Listen, I understand that the kitchen can get backed up or other things happen that hold up your food but seriously-- just tell me! Oh, and all of this with a cranky one year old at the table. If I have to visit again for some reason, I know what I'm walking into. I won't expect a different result. read more

Enjoyed lunch at First Watch on Tuesday. I arrived around 12:15 and had only a few minutes to wait for a table. Both my friend and I have food allergies. Being gluten free can present some difficult choices when dining out. First Watch has a number of items that accommodate my diet. I informed the waitstaff upon ordering and she was able to answer my questions about certain items. They did end up putting a pack of wrapped gluten crackers on my plate which were easily removed. My friend has an allergy to avocado. She informed the waitstaff and was told the salad was made fresh and the avocado could be left out. Unfortunately some of the avocado found it's way back into the salad. The salad was returned and redone. The staff apologized for the error and due to the issue lunch was on the house. Will definitely be going back to First Watch. read more

Mother's Day! The best way to celebrate this holiday is to meet for breakfast or brunch. I met my friend there, and we both enjoyed this place that we have never been to. I have been to another First watch a couple times. I can say I like the Hixson location better. The potatoes are cooked better and not over cooked. The Mother's Day menu was so good. The hospitality was very good. We got there around 8 am, and we got in right away. On the top of the great food we got small boxes of chocolates. How sweet it was! I think from now on I will go to this location. It is closer to my house, and the food looks better and tastes better. And I really liked the art inside the building at Hixson. A new location in Hixson. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff that were not only welcoming, but greeted us with a smile every time they stopped by our table. Great menu with healthy options, along with new takes on classic hearty breakfasts. The farmhouse style skillet hash was absolutely delicious and the bite of my wife's "chickichanga" was great too! Our service was excellent, wait time for food wasn't long at all despite them having a good steady flow of customers. Overall great place for a good breakfast. This is definitely one of the first and most Yuppie places in Hixson I've been to in a while. And I say this is a compliment, not an insult. There are not a lot of breakfast choices in the style that First Watch offers. They have a lot of new age food and a huge selection of different styles of eggs benedict. If you don't hear expecting cheap prices, you're going to be disappointed surprised. You get a good selection and variety have your favorite breakfast foods are really good. They're also very costly. You will pay over $10 for a meal most likely. The only reason I give it 4 stars because the service does take a little while. They are friendly when they're around, but they are new and still learning the ins-and-outs. Good place, they need to speed it up a little bit which will come with experience. My wife and I will definitely be back here when we have the money for it. The time we went, it cost us about 40 bucks. Now granted, we got some additional bacon and I got one of their fruity drinks. So it probably could have been about $7 cheaper. read more

Best non-campsite breakfast I have ever had! This restaurant just opened in this location about a month ago - I had the traditional breakfast - two eggs, potatoes, toast and jam, and crispy bacon. It was soooo good! The toast was a thick and hearty bread, the bacon so thick and good - eggs were perfect. My boys each had pancakes - just order one as they are HUGE!! Great coffee as well - I will definitely back - they have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and there were a number of things I want to come back and try. I have been to this place a couple of times and have had an issue every time. Every time. This morning, I asked for the traditional with a fried egg white. The guy seemed fine when taking the order. When I get the food, it a scrambled egg white. I tell the guy that's not what I ordered and that I want a fried egg white. He goes back to the kitchen and then comes back and says "we can't do that." Like I had asked them to bake a birthday cake. . If I had asked for a regular fried egg and you brought out a regular scrambled egg, is that what a I ordered? It's not hard to remove the yolk before frying an egg and more than it is to scramble it. The attitude and refusal is just odd read more

I really tried to like this place. Their service is great. But the food is horrible. I went twice just to be sure. Firstly the quality of the food is sub par compared to the prices. They charge farm to table prices with walmart quality. The Turkey gravy and biscuits tasted like cat food. The texture was grainy and I didnt actually see any meat. It was like pieces of sand. "Seasoned" potatoes are never seasoned except when you put salt and pepper in them. I got the florentine the first time and was hardly edible. Tomato was hard as a rock and eggs severely undercooked. I only ate my food bc I hate wasting food and there are starving people in the world. I complained the first time and got a discount so I thought I'd give it another shot. Food is good, but selection is modest. If you're an avocado lover, pretty much ever meal seems to have it in some form or the other. Service was impeccable. Ambience is nice, especially early in the morning. Why was I up at 7am again on a weekend ? I'm not sure the cook knew how to cook an egg over-medium - my eggs were definitely on the over-easy side, but they were good. Bacon was the best I've had in a long time. Food was average breakfast food. Nothing special. Certainly not worth what they charge. The coffee was HORRIBLE. So bitter and burnt tasting. Service was decent and restaurant was clean enough, but the bathroom looked like it hadn't been mopped or cleaned well in quite some time. Sweet tea was good. Syrup is flavorless. No seriously I could barely taste it and cheese on my eggs... I don't know what kind they use, but it was bland and pointless. $13 for one egg with cheese, one basic waffle, 1 sausage and a horrible cup of coffee... no thanks.
