The food was mediocre, and the service was practically nonexistent. I waited for at least 15 minutes for a server to even approach our table and after we ordered, we didn't see that server again until we had to send another server to get our check and leave I will never enter that place again and they really need to train their cooks to cook eggs, especially in a brunch place. Another recommendation from a friend that lives locally. We grabbed Breakfast here before I hit the road to head back home. PURPLE HAZE: Lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and a hint of lavender. I instantly fell in love with this juice. I couldn't decide between this and the seasonal watermelon wakeup. However, I was pleased with this one. MARKET HASH: scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, zucchini, shallots, red peppers, baby spinach, melted Mozzarella and herbed Goat cheese. So yummy The crowd really picked up shortly after arriving so I would suggest getting there close to open time. Parking lot was really packed. There is a shared eating section for anyone dining alone that doesn't mine sharing with strangers. I do feel they have reasonably priced dishes. The restaurant was very active with conversation and people bustling about. The staff were sweet and offered menu suggestions to anyone who needed it. read more

A great place to eat in Hixson First Watch is a popular restaurant chain that specializes in delicious breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. It was founded in 1983 in Pacific Grove, California, and has since expanded its presence across the United States. This reach allows customers to find a First Watch whether they're in a bustling city or a suburban neighborhood. I have visited at least 6 locations in 3 states. One of the standout features of First Watch is its focus on health-conscious options. The menu includes a variety of nutritious choices, such as egg-white omelets, fresh fruit bowls, and whole-grain pancakes just to name a few. This particular location is right of Hwy 153 in Hixson. It shares the building and the parking lot with other shops. Parking can be a challenging due to the popularity of the restaurant. We arrived with a large group for breakfast. It was very busy and the restaurant is one of the smaller size First Watches that I have visited. They seated many smaller groups before us. A table with a large party cleared and the manager did an absolutely wonderful job of seating us as quickly as possible, even offering options of seating us at 2 smaller tables to get us seated faster. Now I have been to several of these restaurants but this one was the best service I have ever had at any of them. Our waiter, Blake, absolutely made our entire day. He was at our table constantly making sure throughout the meal that all of our large party was taken care of from when we first sat down to when we paid our bills. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend for anyone visiting the Hixson area and wanting great food, in a nice place with awesome service. read more

We always enjoy our visits and have learned several of the ins and outs of the First Watch menu. Unfortunately, one of their biggest issues is the freshness of their fruit. Understanding the difference between good and rotting produce is essential to a quality experience. I have ordered fruit in the past and noticed some would be rotten or starting to rot. This lead me to avoiding anything with "fresh" fruit when visiting First Watch. Fruit is a bit more delicate then a good deal of other types of produce and requires quicker turnaround. Utilizing better product standards and processes can help with this. Would like to see First Watch come up with a better plan for their produce and educate their staff to understand the difference. Everything else, as usual, was delicious and delightful. *Note: Ask for fresh fruit or just plain out avoid it. read more

My wife and I went this morning. Got there about 5 till 11am. Jessica was our server who has waited on us before. seemed like a long wait for coffee and water to start our order. It took her a while to take our order. We finally got our food at 11:30 which was at best luke warm. The butter on my wife's waffle would not melt and her scrambled eggs were barely warm as well and were supposed to have cheese. My order of toast was cold and still had to wait on my order 5 minutes. My eggs had apparently had been over cooked the first time and were reordered by Jessica. At 11:45 my 3 eggs finally came back and my wife's eggs were being carried around the restaurant by some another server. When I did get my eggs at 11:45 another server brought them and asked if everything was ok (not Jessica), I told her that was the worst service and meal we had ever had. We got up and left and went to pay our bill. I had noticed that Jessica never seemed to be anywhere to be found during most of this 50 minute meal. Two other gentlemen seemed to have about the same experience. When we paid, the cashier asked how everything was and my wife and I told him it was the worst service and meal we had ever had there. He offered to take the eggs off the bill. We paid our 44 dollar bill and left the server Jessica a 5 and some change tip. Not sure what happened but there was definitely a huge problem in the staff , the kitchen and food runners. It will be a long time before we'll go back. The manager and staff need to be coached a whole lot more. We live very close to this place and have enjoyed most meals and service in the past. but not at all this time. Met a friend before work this morning here since I'm in town for the week. We enjoyed a hearty, healthier breakfast in the outside patio area before 9 am so the summer heat wouldn't get to us yet. She enjoyed blueberry pancakes that are a seasonal special and I enjoyed a scramble of eggs, potato's, spinach, peppers, and goat cheese with a HUGE side of carrot cake pancakes. Such kind servers and delicious brunch food. The Bacado was good and not too salty or greasy. The strawberry jam that came with the toast was a good in between of tart and sweet but a bit too sweet for my preference. The A.M Superfoods bowl was tasty. The coconut chia pudding was a good amount of coconut flavor but not too overpowering or sickeningly sweet. The almond butter toast was delicious and simple but the toast kind of got stale over time, so make sure to eat that when it's immediately served. The ambiance was cute and comfortable. However, the service is crazy because of the long lines. Make sure to do the online waitlist first before you arrive because you need to then check in in-person. read more

Another Florida restaurant we used to frequent every weekend. I was excited to see a First Watch open in Hixson but worried it wouldn't last. I was wrong, they are always packed! We made a point to go one morning when we were up early enough to beat the crowd. This particular location is much smaller than what I'm used to, so I can imagine they go on a wait fairly quickly. Prices are around $10+ a plate, but you do get a ton of food for that amount. Everything is made fresh so feel free to add or omit any of the ingredients. The location is clean and staff is extremely friendly. The kitchen is open so you'll have a view for the whole meal. I'd love to make this a monthly stop if we're up early enough! read more

My eldest son and I ate brunch here Sunday, June 9th, 2019. We started with the Million Dollar bacon. The bacon is cooked with a sweet glaze and a slight spice. It was interesting. I'm in the 'Crispy Bacon' club, so while the flavor was unique, the chewy texture was meh for me...my son's only comment was the name of the dish had delusions of grandeur. My son chose the Trifecta, with chicken sausage. He said this was his first experience with cheese that added no flavor to the eggs and syrup that wasn't sweet, however he like the sausage. I had the Frittata Rustica. It was a vegetable frittata with a crispy slice of baggett and greens tossed in a lemony dressing. The salad was "trendy" but didn't add anything to the dish but the frittata was delish! My son liked it as well. The food is pricey, so we were glad we had a coupon. read more

We met another couple this morning and the service was terrible. I ordered the turkey burger with a side of fresh greens. My burger arrived refrigerator cold. I sent it back when we could finally gain the attention of our server. The server brought our check because everyone else was finished with their meal and I had no food! I frequent First Watch constantly when I'm home in Nashville. Their bacado omelette, their salad and sandwich combo are some of my favorites, but...... No matter how much I enjoy their food, I can NOT forget the dirty looks and uncomfortable feelings that I had when the staff looked down on me for wearing a mask in their establishment. If it is 1 employee, I could accept that, but to have multiple employees roll their eyes at my decision to wear a mask is UNACCEPTABLE!! It is 2021... if you are that intolerant of people making personal decisions that differ from you, you should not be in the service industry. read more

We walked in to First Watch thinking it would be an order at the counter kind of place. It isn't. It is full service and decorated nicely with the stainless steel infused yet rustic decor which seems to be the trend nowadays. Each First Watch has small touches to set each location apart and here at the Hixson location, there is a lovely mural depicting the area. Service was quick, efficient and pleasant. I ordered the eggs benedict w/ beef tenderloin and hubby ordered the chickichanga. It didn't take long for the food to come out and it was fresh and very good. I was pleased w/ the beef dish, which had just the right amount of each ingredient. The eggs did not overwhelm the beef and were cooked perfectly. The real winner, though, was the chickichanga. Light, crispy, flavorful and delicious - I swore I would order it next time because it was just so good. So good, in fact, my husband was rather stingy about sharing :-) First Watch is only open for breakfast and lunch. I think they close at around 2:30 each day. It is a nice choice when you want something a bit slower than a counter style restaurant, with a higher quality of ingredients. We really enjoyed it. read more

Man, I hate writing this review. I love First Watch and this is the 3rd FW in the Chattanooga area. This location recently opened and while you expect some hiccups, this is also a very well established chain. This location needs to get it together ASAP. Met my girlfriends for brunch. We arrived before the big crowds got there and were able to get a booth pretty quickly. Our server, Kristina soon came by with coffee and was very warm and helpful. Let me get this out there, Kristina was great. There's some sort of disconnect at this location. There is a complete lack of communication among the staff. Our order was taken and then one by one, different dishes came out at different times and brought out by different people each time. One of my friends ordered a breakfast entree and I kid you not, every single component of that entree came out separately on small plates. And at different times. So she was first given sausage, then later came potatoes, then later her eggs, and then lastly, her toast. WTH? Really? Seriously? Also, all three of us ordered the seasoned potatoes. Every single one of them had no seasoning and were quite undercooked. They were cut into different size cubes, some of which were huge. One of my friends asked for her potatoes to be done extra crispy. One server came out with part of her breakfast and said confidently, "I didn't bring your potatoes because I know you wanted them extra crispy and they weren't done like that." Awesome! I like that kind of communication. But then, we never saw that server ever again and had to ask Kristina for the potatoes. They came out, unseasoned and undone, definitely not well-done and crispy. My breakfast mostly came out together. I had bacon, and it was freshly cooked with lots of grease. I took a bite, and basically it tasted like uncooked fat. So another server came by (in total I counted 5 different servers/runners), and I told her that my bacon tasted uncooked. So she asked, "so you want it more crispy?". Ummmm. I want it cooked, not raw. So another person came by with more bacon. It was cooked, but was cold. Like cold cold. Oh well, I gave up on that. I will say my over-easy eggs were cooked to perfection. No overdone brown edges and just perfectly yolky. So one of us was done eating while the other was getting her breakfast as separate courses, it seems and I was served basically raw bacon. No one's potatoes were cooked. Every time Kristina came by we were asking for something to be fixed, or something was missing. She kept apologizing. Again, she was a good server. Finally she came back and said she talked to the manager and that our breakfast was free. Again, she apologized about the many mistakes. We made sure to let her know we thought she was great and none of her fault. Never once did a manger come over to check and make sure things were good or to apologize. It was left to Kristina. So, here are my thoughts - like I said, there is a great lack of communication. Why are the servers and runners not talking? We ask one person for something and then it doesn't get done. Or they bring out the meal piece by piece. None of us ate at the same time. One was finished before one even got anything while the third person was waiting for their different components. Why is the kitchen taking tickets and not making sure that a table's order comes out at the same time? That is just not acceptable. This is a well-established chain. I would expect that there would be experienced managers, cooks and servers on hand from other locations to make sure that everyone is properly trained. This is a sorely needed breakfast option in Hixson, but I don't know if they can make it if it continues along this path. I sure hope they do get it together, because I do really like First Watch. read more

Heard a lot about this place from folks who've gone to the Downtown location and from out of state friends. Had to give it a go myself. Parking should be adequate but it's a problem due to its success. It's pretty packed all the time. It should get better after they've been around a while and the holidays are past It's got kinda a rustic, man cave vibe inside. Being a victim of its success for now, seating is limited! Shouldn't be a problem once this dies down a bit. Staff are efficient considering the crowds. Waits aren't nearly what you'd think. Food is cooked to perfection. After several meals there, no complaints. I could use a few more choices though. My biggest gripe is drink costs. Over $3 for a glass of milk and around $2.89 for coffee. I drank water only after the first time. Anyway, great place and you should definitely try it out! You may want to wait until the crowds die down. Note: Only breakfast and lunch! read more

If you are looking for a high quality breakfast, but don't want to mess up your kitchen to do so... you need to come here. There's literally nothing on the menu which I thought "Ew, yuck" or "Nope." Instead my problem both time I've gone is what should I order. I almost didn't believe how good the food was until my first plate arrived and it didn't disappoint. Nor did the fresh juice, nor the coffee, nor the service. My second visit today was no different. Great service from the time I entered and until I left. We were so excited to see a First Watch open up in Hixson. It seems like restaurants either go to Hamilton Place or downtown, so it is nice to see some new restaurants in our area. We went on a Sunday morning at around 9:15. We were greeted and seated immediately, though by the time we left there was a wait. Or server came quickly and offered us coffee. No water was ever offered or brought, it looked like most of the other tables had water, but I guess you have to ask for it. Every single thing on the menu sounded great, but I settled the Carbonara Benedict. My husband chose the Tri-Fecta The Tri-Fecta was a multigrain pancake, two eggs and bacon or sausage. My husband said how he wanted his eggs and then he said for his pancake he wanted the banana granola crunch (which on the menu is listed as one of the flavors available for the multigrain pancakes.) The server made a show of ripping off the piece of paper on his order pad, like he had to start over. My husband said okay fine, he would just take the plain multigrain pancake. Our food seemed to arrive pretty quickly. The server brought my plate out and brought out my husband's pancake and bacon and said the eggs would be out shortly. My Carbonara Benedict was perfect. The poached eggs were still nice and runny, the bacon was super thick all on a toasted ciabatta. The lightly dressed greens on the side paired perfectly with the richness of the rest of this dish. My husband said his was good too, his eggs were cooked just right, the bacon was crispy and the pancake was good. I checked the menu online and a photo of the paper menu and they both list the banana granola crunch as on option for the pancake, so I'm not sure why the server acted like it was not available and made such a big deal of having to start over if my husband wanted that variety. read more

My first time at First Watch and I had an amazing experience! It was pouring rain and we were having trouble finding a spot when one of the workers lebron ran to our car and told us where a spot was, he even stood over there in the rain to keep the spot for us. Staff is okay. Food used to be good, however my last visit feel incredibly short. I have celiac, and yes, I can just stay home. But First Watch has always been great, and I've never gotten sick. Last visit- I ordered something that came with tortillas, asked them to not do the tortillas and that I had celiacs. They sent the dish with the tortillas. Flour tortillas. Alerted to the waitress immediately, she grabbed my dish, and returned with it rather quickly with sauce smear marks where the tortillas were. This is super frustrating for someone with food allergies. Needless to say- I doubt I'll be returning. read more
