The cheese burger and Fries are Awesome The Fries are fresh cut so they are better than most places. Also the chicken fingers are served with honey mustard. But I always order ranch(because it's homemade) They have a cheeseburger salad that a couple of my coworkers rave about They also have daily specials which is usually a large portion of meat and 2 veggies. Driving through looking for a quick lunch and found Martha's on yelp. It was perfect, no frills, friendly service. Three of us had sandwiches and the fourth had the chili cheese dog. I will preface it with he is Australian and finds all of the bread sweet but that was his only complaint. It was the lunch time special, 2 dogs for I think $10. It was like going to my parents for lunch. Loved it so much my husband and I brought two more sandwiches for dinner. The sandwiches came with chips and a pickle. I switched mine out and paid $2 extra for fruit. (Banana,grapes,strawberries and a wedge of orange). They also served salads but these were not something that appealed to me. This seemed the sort of place that had regular customers. They even offered us more soda to go in a takeaway cup. read more

Oh my gosh, what a find! If I hadn't looked on Yelp I would have missed out on this hidden gem. They were super busy when I got here, however still greeted me right away. Everyone super friendly and you could tell by the regulars that is is the place to be. I ordered the hand breaded chicken tenders with hand cut fries. Soooooo good. I love honey mustard with my CTs however they were out so I went with ranch. All good. Apparently they are known for their chicken salad, and I was offered a sample. This place is homemade heaven. The chicken tenders, fries, fried pickles, and chicken salad are some of the best I have ever had. The pickles are dill chunks so every bite has maximum fried goodness. The staff is extremely friendly and prices are very reasonable. Everything on the menu is $10 or less. The atmosphere is not trendy or fancy but that helps keep prices low. What a freakin hoot! Yeah, Marsha's Backstreet Cafe is nothing to look at but don't be fooled Truly a locals orientated eatery, warts and all. They were having a "really bad day" thanks to a massive takeout order that arrived minutes before we came on the scene... It actually made our whole lunchtime much more memorable. My wife and I discovered Marsha's earlier this year and now it's our favorite place to eat. The food is always fresh and everything is homemade. Hand cut chicken fingers and fries, great chicken salad, hamburgers, chili, and much, much more. Marsha and her son Jimmy make everyone feel like regulars even if it's your first visit. All of the wait staff are polite and they take great care of you. I can tell you this for sure, once you try it, you WILL become a regular too. I had heard about this popular Brainerd Road place so we finally made it there last week for an early dinner. First, there was only one other party there at about 5:30--a group of 5 or so men who were yakking it up and having a good time, to the amusement of my husband. We learned from the owner, Marsha, that their busiest time, by far, is lunchtime when an empty table is hard to come by and the limited parking requires patrons to double park. No worries, we were told; staff will move cars as needed or announce whose car is blocking yours when you are ready to go. As far as the food? You can order burgers or sandwiches from the menu or choose the daily special, usually a meat and 3 option. That day it was pork chops, baked beans and potato salad. The chops were fork-tender and delicious. The potato salad was fresh and very good; the baked beans tasted like pork and beans from a can, a disappointment. If you are a dessert-lover, you'll have to make another stop as Marsha's no longer serves it. The decor in Marsha's Backstreet Cafe is nothing special. It could use some fresh paint and updating but apparently its patrons are happy enough with the food to keep coming back. We plan to go back to try another daily special before we give it 4 stars...I'm a veggie or side lover, so if our canned beans posing as baked beans proves to be just a fluke, I'll happily up my rating. read more

Nice family cafe that takes pride in their cafe. We made a little stop before Heading to Lookout Mountain to this little hidden cafe. The owner's son was very personable! Water pipe was broke before we arrived, but 10 min later everything was up and running. Personnel apologized profusely! I had a BLT, which was very tasty. I am not a big tomato fan, but this tomato tasted like it was just picked off the vine. It was really good and extra bacon made it taste even better!!! I, also, had the chili. If you are a Skyline chili fan like I am, it tasted pretty similar. My husband had wanted a ham sandwich, but the owner's son talked him into a toasted tuna sandwich. He, also, had a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Both were delicious! Just a note to the owner's son- Ruby Falls was more than a trickle today. It was actually a pretty decent falls. Visited Marsha's recently and wow. They've completely remodeled the place. The food is still excellent, but there is a totally different feel. New paint job, trendy lighting and decor. It's gone from dive-bar to family-friendly eatery. What's more - they told me the change was due to what they'd read on Yelp. Feels good to make a difference. Absolutely disgusting. I've read several reviews online that say this place is good but obviously they must be written by relatives and friends. I saw that this restaurant was listed on Dinner Delivered.com and decided to give them a shot after some research. I ordered the cheeseburger salad (which has been reviewed on some other site) while my bf got chicken strips, fries, and a chicken salad sandwich. The cheeseburger salad is not a salad. It really is just a cheese burger without the bun... and by that I mean it has a tiny amount of lettuce, a tiny amount of tomato and 2 small slices of cucumber (wow). For $7.00 I expect something that would fill a large bowl or a plate. This barely filled the box. No flavor whatsoever. I could have bought a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato from McDonald's and made a better "salad." Tried some of the fries, strips and chicken salad sandwich and again it was just a bland disappointment. The chicken salad is no better than what you can get from Walmart. Fries were like cardboard drenched in oil. The strips were the same. We tried to give a french fry to our dog and even she sniffed at it hard and long before deciding to take it. And when she did eat it, she gave me this look as if to say, "where did you get this $%#?" Needless to say, we didn't offer her another... and she didn't beg for anotther. Maybe we should have ordered something else, or maybe they just shouldn't be in business. This "café" is no exception to the rule to avoid food from restaurants in a run down part of town that's located next to a seedy liquor store. You'll have to drown the food in sauces to make it edible. That being the case, you'd be better off cooking your own food. read more
