First Watch is a phenomenal place to eat if you like fresh food. When we go back to Chattanooga we will definitely come back.

My husband and I ate at First Watch for breakfast. They said a 20-25 minute wait for two people so we opted to sit at the community table. It was a little out of my comfort zone to sit with strangers but I was so hungry and the other customers were really nice. Service was great considering that table had so much turnover. The server was really on his game! I ordered the tri-athlete and hubby had oatmeal and eggs. He also had the most amazing blueberry muffin, full of blueberries, moist throughout, with a light crunch on the top. i absolutely adore this place. they have the most wonderful little restaurant and service, the inside appears very clean and service is excellent. the first time i went, which was a couple weeks ago, i ordered the power wrap with a side of fruit and it was so good! such a great portion, i could barely finish both halves. the second time i came, today, it was phenomenal. checking in on the app and we got seated almost immediately. my mom and i were looking for a light lunch before we went grocery shopping and shared the smoked salmon eggs benedict, subbed the poached eggs for egg whites and ordered a bowl of fresh fruit. both times the fruit had been fresh and the eggs benedict was delicious. the smoked salmon had a nice crisp edge and the egg whites had been cooked perfectly. also i wanted to mention, the smoked salmon eggs benedict i split in half, moved to a second plate the waitress brought for me, and i just grabbed fruit from the bowl on my mom's plate. the server did not bring me the plate looking like the pic lol i 100% recommend this place. our servers both times were amazing as well, so kind and patient. read more

After fasting morning labs, this is my reward. I am usually on my own. I never have to wait. They whisk me away to my table quickly. The food and drinks are always spot on! The staff are listening and make sure I get exactly what I want. I like the place. It is busy with morning chatter and quick moving service. The service is always excellent. The avocado toast breakfast is my favorite with a side of pork sausage. The morning meditation is the only good thing I will do that day. LOL. Just great service and great food and drink. I didn't even know we had a First Watch in Chattanooga. Turns out, we have three. On Gunbarrel, on the North Shore and in Hixson. I have been wanting to try their Parma Skillet Hash and let me tell you, it is even better than I was anticipating. It comes with 2 eggs (cooked to order), potatoes, mushrooms and a piece of wheat toast. I got my eggs over medium. The combination of all the flavors was heavenly. When you walk in the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The staff is very courteous and friendly, but also efficient. It was a very pleasurable experience and I will be going back! We should have walked out when the hostess was rude to us. She was unfriendly and would not answer our question about where was acceptable to park at this location. We asked her if she could ask someone else she did not . The parking situation is crazy either way only about 12 spots labeled for first watch. All the others were labeled guardian which was the name on the building. The restaurant was also out of glass cups and was serving drinks in kids cups. The food was fine. It has been a wile since I had been to first watch before today and prior to this I was not super crazy over it but now I would definitely recommend people to go here while visiting I got the biscuits and gravy which was good the gravy was kinda bland but the biscuit itself was great I also got a muffin of the day (today was blueberry) and it was really good and flavorful and the last thing I got was the million dollar bacon which as well was incredible overall 5/5 stars great ambiance and a solid brunch place would recommend read more

We were visiting family in Chattanooga and we all like to eat. Taking us the the airport on Saturday, we stopped at First Watch on Gunbarrel for breakfast. The food we saw passing us and menu looked awesome. The pancakes looked awesome but after several days of gorging myself, I decided to stick to something healthier. I loved the A.M. Superfoods Bowl. It was delicious and surprisingly filing. Loved the coffee but even more, the Purple Haze non-alcoholic drink was awesome. They were really crowded and the wait was 45 minutes. But, there was a Community Table that seated 8 and only one occupant was seated. We joined him and had no wait. Additionally, we engaged this local gentleman in super interesting conversation. He eats there 4-5 times a week. If you have the opportunity to pick who you want serving you, be sure to ask for a seat in Lyric's station. She was awesome with the service, prompt, very pleasant and adorable. Lastly, I would like the thank the gentleman we sat with, who we only knew as "Rob, the carpet recycling guy" who secretly paid for breakfast for all 5 of our family members, then left. Meaning that you are paying for way more than what you were getting and overtime the portion has decreased a little while the price has gone up. Today, we arrived to a not even full restaurant and were seated immediately. We sat for 15 minutes and no one took our drink order or even came to our table. If you must have First Watch, avoid Gunbarrel and go downtown. My husband and I ordered the same thing, but it was not served the same. Server Rachel was rude when it was pointed out. She never checked on us and basically threw the receipt on the table long before we had finished our meal. Never had a bad experience at the other location. Very frustrating. read more

I would just like to say how much I appreciate this beautiful breakfast menu. It's extremely trendy with flavors and popular dishes. (Looking for avocado toast?? They gotchu) I'm one to be faithful and loyal to my menu favorite, the Elevated Egg Sandwich, but the have huge pancakes, or healthier quinoa power bowls. First, positive news. The food is delicious! I've eaten several things at the Gunbarrel, Chattanooga location (Benedicts, frittatas, etc) and all have been well-prepared. If I were to be critical, I would say the potatoes were not as good as the rest. The service from the host(esse)s and servers likewise has been friendly and responsive. The last time we were there, we had to ask for half and half and for pepper. I don't know if that's the responsibility of the bus staff or management, but the servers end up making 2-3 times the trips when the tables aren't fully prepped. read more

Me and my lady friend tried this spot for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning. We arrived around 11am and they were pretty busy. We were greeted by the host and told it was going to be a 15 minute wait. No problem. We were escorted to our table and greeted within a couple minutes by our server who promptly brought our drinks and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I had ordered their standard breakfast plate (eggs potatoes, sausage, a biscuit and gravy) my companion ordered an omelette. The food came out pretty quick, less than 10 minutes and tasted fresh. I did have to remind the server I ordered sausage and she quickly brought it out to me. Overall the experience was nice, no major complaints would eat there again. read more

The food was pretty good, what you would expect from a First Watch. The sides of greens were missing dressing and were looking rough, but the rest of the meal was delicious. I got the French toast as well and the crust was divine and the softness on the inside was perfection in my opinion. I also got the purple haze and it was like a sweet lemonade. I've been a couple of times and both were disappointing. On this visit, I had the shrimp and grits. The grits had sat under a heat lamp for so long they'd developed a skin. The shrimp were extremely salty and had a fishy taste. This dish is supposed to be served with ciabatta toast, but it took so long I was nearly done with my meal before it showed up. The service was terrible and never checked back the entire meal and I never received a single refill on my soft drink. read more
