Everything on the menu looks delicious, and it was very hard to decide. I ordered the Summer Blush drink from their seasonal menu. Watermelon, pineapple, Fuji apple, lemon, cane sugar, and mint. It was tasty but I didn't like it enough to order again. For my entree, I had the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. This is quinoa with kale, shredded carrots, roasted tomatoes, grilled lemon chicken breast, basil pesto sauce, feta crumbles, and fresh herbs. It tasted even more amazing than it sounds. It was a very generous portion, but I would've eaten twice as much if that what I was served. A definite winner! I also had a muffin - lemon. It had seeds in it - chia? Poppy? Can't recall. This has been my favorite breakfast spot for quite a while but my experience on Monday was terrible. First of all they don't take anyone's temperature or make them wash their hands or use hand sanitizer, which I think every one should be forced to do everywhere right now because people are still spreading this virus. Secondly I ordered a blueberry pancake and it tasted extremely disgusting I couldn't even finish it. The grits were fine but the pancake completely messed up my appetite and I've had a sore throat every since I ate here. I no longer recommend this breakfast spot, sadly! read more

My husband ordered a side of potatoes with his lemon pancakes and the potatoes were half the small bowl. Previous visits the portion was much larger. Not worth my dollar. My server didn't come back to see how our food was only to drop of the tab, she seemed to be in the front most of the time. My frittata was cold and it was too late to get something before she came with the check. Wait time was outrageous. Never again! I like First Watch. I'm going to break my "no chains" rule again because it's unique in it's own special way that makes me like coming here (plus I'll be review #200). The food here is amazingly fresh. You won't find heat lamps here! And the portions considering its a cafe are very nice considering the prices that are offered. I like the Eggs Benedict, the Bacado omelette, and the Monte Cristo sandwich here. Yes, they do have your other regular items like waffles, pancakes, and French toast. The muffins are amazing too but you gotta get here early for those! Just be careful somewhat because the food here can be a bit runny at times. Overall this is one restaurant not to miss. Get here before it gets busy because you can be in for a real long wait if you come in too late. Also it's only open until 2:30 so don't put it off. If you're looking for IHOP quality food, you won't get that here. But I think you'll be pleasantly happy with the fare they have and want to return for more. read more

When I joined the waitlist the wait time was about an hour but we were seated in about 30 minutes. The menu has a nice selection of both breakfast and lunch options! I opted for the Florentine Eggs Benedict with a side of potatoes. Everything was delicious and very fresh! The potatoes were perfectly seasoned. The others in my party ordered the Vanilla Chai Pancakes, which they also loved! The only negative part of my experience here is I felt a little rushed. Amazing brunch place! I thought it was going to be overhyped but noooo. So I came here and I got the Tri-fecta with over easy eggs, pork sausage, and the waffle. Everything was so delicious but I really loved the Belgian waffle because it was so light and fluffy! You can tell the batter is made with love!! Plus they sprinkle some powdered sugar and cinnamon so when you eat that with the butter and syrup they give you- oh my goodness it's heavenly! My sister got the Eggs Benedict and while I didn't get to try her Benedict, I did eat a lot of her potatoes because they were that delicious too. Service was wonderful as well- we really loved our waitress. Next time I come back I'm trying the chicka-changa. It looks like a popular option! This was all of our first times here, so we went with the classics - The Traditional, Biscuits and Turkey Sausage Gravy, and I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict. While mine was tasty (who can say no to smoked salmon?), it definitely didn't wow me. It was just plain and my mixed greens barely had any dressing. I actually asked for some on the side later, because I thought they just forgot to add it. I tried the Biscuits and Gravy and I enjoyed those flavors much more. The turkey gravy was a lot lighter, which was nice! Unfortunately both the potatoes on the Biscuits and Gravy and the Traditional were underdone. One thing that I did really like was the Kale Tonic Fresh Juice! I would order that again! It was extremely refreshing and a great way to start the day. The poached eggs were fully cooked through so I received hard boiled eggs on my Benedict. I never received my breakfast potatoes. It was two eggs, with two slices of bacon, on a slice on French bread, with some greens on it, and hollandaise. I am a stickler about Benedicts. If you are going to have them on your menu then you better know how to poach them. Nothing ruins a Benedict more then having a hard cooked egg. The salad was assorted greens with barely any vinaigrette. Since there were not any potatoes it's been 4 hours- and I'm starving!!!!! Another great experience at First Watch. Prior to this visit I had the opportunity to go to there other Fairfax location, however this location I think was a little smaller but less crowded. If you come around 1:30 when they close an hour or so later it's much less crowded which is something I would recommend if you want a late brunch. The food options were great and everything was fresh and excellent. Our server was such a sweetheart and she helped us with our food restrictions and made sure we were okay while she was very busy which we appreciated. Their sweet tea is a must try. It's not something you would think to typically order from a breakfast joint but it's worth it! The works platter is very good and filling fill of protein. The ricotta lemon pancakes were unique and tasty if you love a hint of ricotta with lemon crud this is for you. Their biscuits and gravy was the favorite of our table as it was nice and fluffy and the turkey sausage we got it work gave the biscuits a nice fluffy savory taste. If you don't mind a cafeteria style rush with good food then you won't mind First Watch. The service is always fast and it follows the ihop model and you pay at the register. They offer complimentary coffee as you wait, just help yourself. The hostess was friendly. Our server was very kind and attentive. Restrooms are in the back and clean. There is plenty of indoor seating available, but this place does get packed during weekends. They are also only open till 2:30 pm daily. We tried the Parma Hash and Chickichanga. Both dishes were made with quality ingredients and had good flavor. The servings are generous. I appreciate that nothing was overly salty. Their menu also has lots of healthy options. The most recent time: they forgot a specialty drink ($5), they forgot a pancake we ordered ($4), and didn't listen to special directions (we ordered English muffin instead of toast and got toast with no jelly either). My absolute favorite place to get breakfast/brunch/lunch. I have been going here way before it opened in the Northern VA area. I use to travel to my grandparents in Orlando about 3-4 times a year and I would always suggest to go to a First Watch for breakfast. It's always delicious and nutritious. So when I found out a First Watch was going to open up the street from my house, I couldn't have been more happy. I told everyone I knew about it and how good the food was. And this experience definitely did not let me down one bit! I literally crave the bacon and onion hash. It's potatos fried perfectly with melted cheese on top, crispy bacon, grilled onions and two eggs (I like mine sunny side up). Ahhhh my mouth is watering writing this. It also comes with fresh fruit and toast on the side. I know it's funny because this place is very healthy but I literally get the most unhealthy thing on the menu. I can't help it! Some other items on the menu thats good are the chocolate chip pancakes, chicken salad melt and really all of the salads. The service here is great, the employees are so courteous and friendly and the managers are very nice also. The smartest thing they do here is give you your own water pitcher so you can get water anytime you want. Genius!!! Now I try to make it here at least 2-3 times a month. I have only eaten the Tri-Fecta (Eggs, meat option, large pancake), although I'm sure other dishes are good here as well. Eggs have always been cooked exactly as specified in my order. First time visit and came away pleased wanting to come back again. On a Saturday morning there was a 20 minute wait which is actually not bad for NoVA. They will send you a text message when your table is ready if you don't want to hang around. Once seated, we were promptly greeted by our server. He was not that outgoing but ultimately took good care of us. We were able to place our order quickly but then the wait ensued. It took about 25 minutes for our meals to arrive. They were hot and super fresh though and worth the wait. I had the Floridian French Toast piled high with fruit. The flavors were wonderful and not overly heavy.
