Multigrain pancake

Solid breakfast. Lovely service and comfortable dining room. A sign on the door apologized in advance for flow service due to staffing, but we had no delay on a busy Sunday morning. The special--Godfather Bowl--was more of a plate, but delicious and flavorful. (Pepper salsa actually surprisingly spicy!) Multigrain pancakes are great and the syrup arrived warm. Coffee in a carafe is always appreciated.

This is a review of the holiday weekend I visited. Got in line on the app, showed up about the time it should have been my turn and still had a long wait. Kinda think they completely forgot about me and wasn't until I check back with them did they give us a table. Waiter was okay, probably tired and stressed from the day. Food was good standard first watch and I thoroughly enjoyed my stuff French toast when it arrived.

A Frosty cold Friday, a great time to have a First Watch breakfast after frigid temps and a snowstorm earlier this week in Central PA. A very personable Jodi provided an excellent dining experience. My menu choice was Multi-Grain pancakes with blueberries, and I ordered an order of Million Dollar Bacon. My daughter ordered Breakfast Tacos. First Watch offers a modern casual dining experience.

Chickichanga

I asked our server for suggestions and, of the half dozen dishes he said he enjoys, I went with The Chickichanga. It isn't what I typically gravitate towards, but was a great experience. The dish was a melange of flavors and textures; it reawakened how much I miss the use of hatch green chilies. The spices in the chorizo and on the chicken were tempered by avocado and sour cream. There was an unexpected pop of citrusy acidity in the chickichanga's sauce that cut through what may have been too heavily unctuous without it. The potatoes were texturally delightful. They were soft inside, floury, with crispy edges on some of them and bits of cooked onion. There was a small fruit cup with red grapes, sliced strawberries, and bits of pineapple, none of which had the tinny taste or soft texture you sometimes get in mid-December. My spouse had a holiday special, carne asada breakfast tacos served with a side of black beans. The beans had pico de gallo on top. He had no complaints about his food, after he removed some of the pickled red onions. The steak was toothsome and well seasoned. He loved the corn tortillas. We both had coffee & water. Our server left the insulated coffee carafe after filling our cups and said to let him know if we needed more. The carafe maintained a good temperature for enjoying the coffee. All of the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was busy with it feeling rushed. This location is very busy, but still good for groups as there was a table of ladies doing a gift exchange during their lunch across the dining room.

First Watch is always a fantastic experience! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with plenty of healthy and hearty options to choose from. Everything tastes made-to-order, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. The staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the whole visit even better. Whether you're there for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, First Watch consistently delivers great food and great service. Highly recommend!

Was seated almost immediately. The wait for the server was about 10 minutes-unacceptable. The drinks came fairly quickly but the wait for the food , longer than any other location I've visited-about 20-25 minutes. I ordered a turkey burger with no cheese. Burger came to the table with cheese. So I had to wait again for a new sandwich. Other than the wait times, the food was still good. 9/10 would recommend. Forgot to take a pic of the turkey burger

Ummmm, enjoyed The BEC. Bacon, egg, and cheddar sandwich was delicious! It costed $14.49. Service was good. The restaurant buzzed with lively conversations and happy people.

This place is amazing and the food is always good. The atmosphere is refreshing and it's so good to be able to eat at places that makes you feel welcome. The service is always friendly.

I took my sister to First Watch this week, and we ordered a seasonal Spring Lavendar French Toast dish to share. The flavor was just right and paired nicey with the complementary coffee. The interior was vibey and our waiter was friendly. We loved the lavender cream on top, not too sweet with the perfect texture. My usual go-to dish is the Lemon Ricotta pancakes, so I definitely want to take my sister back here so that she can try it! Highly recommend this place!

If I could give 10 stars I would. We stumbled upon this culturally rich and vibey black-owned…read morerestaurant today. The ambiance was beautiful inside and out. The Tuskegee Airmen mural on the side of the building told me that I was in the right place. Upon entering it reminded me of both my NYC and southern roots- from the beautiful woodwork, to the vibrant artwork, to the immaculate service from Estelle and her husband. They gave us a tour as well as a history rundown of the business and its owners. Now- on to the food. CHILEEEE!!! We started off with the spicy empanadas. They were delicious and not too spicy. They were juicy and seasoned to perfection. The sauce that comes with it is delicious! Me and my best friend had the boss lady- I had it with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese grits and lawd that is the best catfish I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried. Reminded me of my nana's cooking! She had her grits with gruyere and she said it was phenomenal. Now my man had the burger and that thang was beautifully plated and he said it was delicious and cooked just as he asked! He also ordered the roasted potatoes and that boy took his time with them thangs, okay?! This meal was eaten in SILENCE (IYKYK). Lastly, we had the peanut butter chocolate cake. When I tell you I wanted to take my bra off and sit in a secluded room with that whew. I can't wait to go back with more family and friends.

The last item to come out was the fruit, which should have been the quickest out. Luckily, we were there for a girls' day and weren't in a rush, but be prepared. Food was clearly made to order and made with love! Egg on the burger was a little overcooked for what I asked for and same for the special peach cobbler french toast, but both were flavorful. The house was built around 1913 and was renovated to keep that calm elevated aesthetic. Chairs were very comfortable! There's artwork for sale to support local even more. Once a month they do a special dinner pairing with music. I'd give it 4.2 overall.

Small menu with unique items. Dining room is very cold. Thought it might be me but heard numerous other guests also commenting on being cold. The dining room was nicely decorated and very Hostess greeted me warmly, could use more of that warmth! She was helpful and offered information on dinner and breakfast options. My server Cricket, was friendly but did approach the table initially with "what are you having" no hello or greeting or suggestions. Although I had asked for lemon with my water since tap water often varies in taste it was served without. Salmon full of flavor but a little dry, prosciutto wrap was very dry, it was served on a large portion of delicious risotto that had asparagus in it, the menu had made it sound like the asparagus was separate from the risotto. Being on a meal plan and watching my weight I would have appreciated it being served separately because I eat the healthy items first. I would typically eat all the risotto, but I did, the tase was exquisite! Bred was hard, dry and had no flavor Buffet, not offered or on the menu Hostess did take beverage orders for a young group that occupied a number of tables from a few tables away they had coupons for the buffet added to the high levels of disruptive noise in dining room. This went on throughout my stay because they were coming in at different times. Young group were using speaker phones in the dining room for the cost of the entree at $23 that was disappointing. Apparently the same venue being used for two very different atmospheres from cafeteria to a fine dining. The very small bar is located in a separate room at the entrance and has terrible acoustics because mid dinner it was so loud it was annoying.

After Cinco de Mayo…read more It was a rainy day here in Harrisburg, PA. I took a job in Lancaster, but first, I needed my coffee--I think I'm addicted to it now! The day before, I had a great cup from Passenger, but today I stopped by Little Amps in downtown Harrisburg before hitting the road. The atmosphere was excellent; it reminded me of home in LA with the records playing, dim lighting, and vintage decor everywhere. I felt a bit torn, like one coffee house wanted me to stay and the other wanted me to leave, so I decided to "break myself in half" and visit both. After all, two of me is better than one! I highly rate Little Amps for the scenery. The vintage look and the outdoor seating make you feel like you're in Manhattan or Paris, giving you the vibe of three places all in one. If you haven't been to any of these spots yet, save your money and just visit Little Amps to get that "all-in-one" experience. The staff is very inviting and they do offer bagels, though I have to be honest: they aren't quite as good as New York bagels. I know New York bagels inside and out, and they know me! Although we were able to take a seat immediately at the hightop table which we chose to do. As we peruse the menus, we were greeted promptly with glasses and a fresh carafe of water. I had the Ethiopian Gucci French press, which was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had a latte which was equally delicious. I opted for the rise and shine with poached eggs, dress greens the waffle and ham. The eggs were absolutely perfect. The greens were good, except there really wasn't any citrus dressing on them, but it worked out with my meal. The Belgian waffle was light and fluffy came with butter, which was more than enough for me. My friend appreciated the hollandaise on her Benedict. She said it was very good. Overall the meal was very satisfying. We had prompt service. The food came out rather quickly. It was hot. The waitress checked on us periodically without being overbearing.
