First trip to Harrisburg and Yelp highly recommended this place. Absolutely 5/5 coffee shop from the delicious coffee with a free refill, the tasty cookie the size of my head, the friendly service, and the really yummy and and cheese sandwich. Also probably not something yelp wants people to note but unreal people watching spot haha. Absolutely wild variety of conversations. Will go back!

We were highly impressed with our experience here! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon unexpectedly and we're glad we checked it out. It's a cute little cafe. The prices are decent, and they have a large selection of bistro/brunch style foods. We got the spinach, tomato, brie egg sandwich, Nutella and banana sandwich, and tomato soup, all of which were wonderful. We left with our bellies full and no complaints. The employees were kind as well. It took a bit of time for them to prep our food, but well worth the wait. Highly recommend!

A Hidden Gem in Harrisburg! I stopped by Yellow Bird Café for breakfast, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, making great recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food--the baked oatmeal is absolutely amazing! It was perfectly warm, hearty, and flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness and texture. You can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients in everything they make. Pairing it with a great cup of chocolate truffle coffee made for the perfect start to my day. The café itself is cozy and inviting, with a charming vibe that makes it a great spot to relax, read, or catch up with friends. Harry Connick Jr was playing on the radio!! If you're in Harrisburg, do yourself a favor and stop by Yellow Bird Café--it's a must-visit! I'll definitely be back! #YellowBirdCafe #HarrisburgEats #BestBreakfast #BakedOatmealPerfection

Cute little cafe. Lots of natural light. It's the kind of place where you order at the counter and pour your own coffee refills, which is fine by me. Decent food for a reasonable price. Big bonus for me - they offer gluten free options and are knowledgeable about avoiding cross contact. It's rare for me to get a GF breakfast sandwich away home. Coffee was good, too. Hubby and I had just enough time to play a word game we found in their game collection while we waited for our order, so it was an educational experience, too (LOL). If we find ourselves in the area again, would like to check Yellow Bird out later in the day.

My visit was great, and the level of customer service I received was good. I anticipate returning in the future.

Very cute, small, but definitely seats plenty. There's a bunch of board games you can play, too if you'd like. There's a huge wall where you can find the menu. It was very busy for a Friday lunch, but it was a very cozy atmosphere with customers of all ages. I really enjoyed their chocolate chip cookie. Their tomato soup was okay, and the Mediterranean feta and turkey sandwich was all right. I did like that they offered a half and half combo, but I felt the portion was not very large. Their cookies are massive, though! I will definitely be back for more! One st

Coda Rouge, I commend you for a superb Valentine's Day dinner…read more I've experienced lunch at Coda Rouge a few times, but this special occasion, the five-course prix fixe aphrodisiac menu, was next-level dining. Why? The opportunity to experience the live painting artwork by Bryan "Prolifik" Hickman, artist and creator of the Tuskegee Airman mural on the side wall of Coda Rouge. The added ambiance of Singer's Lounge, Phebe West, singing lovely, familiar tunes. And last but not least, the intimacy of meeting Coda Rouge chef, Sachiko Tashiana, who trained under renowned chef Wolfgang Puck. And all hands on deck from the chef's family, who helped make the evening special. Finally, the presentation of each of the five courses and the food was superb. If you have never experienced Coda Rouge, you must add it to your short list of Harrisburg fine dining experiences.

You can get lost in the stacks across multiple levels of the buildings. There is ample seating around a performance stage and overhead in the gallery. I appreciate the layout where people can gather in the main area around the stage, but then slip away into the stacks to browse or have a quiet chat. I can buy a book and a pastry and people-watch from a table overlooking the stage or just write in peace to the sound of jazz or the gentle rhubarb of polite conversation. In Harrisburg, it is a great place to meet people who share your interests, especially during these events. I've found it easy to talk with people about various subjects, which, as this is a "scholarly" bookstore, makes a lot of sense. I've actually managed to locate a few rare tomes and art pieces here over the years. Communication, however, is spotty. I've sent several inquiry emails that went unanswered. I've made phone calls where the callback with information never came. When dealing with the staff, they are cordial and professional with the immediate sale, but never seem interested in me or my money if they have to do additional work or communicate with me. I now only approach them looking for material if other locations fall through. But overall, if you want to spend some time with the kind of books you won't find at your local B&N, dive into a complex topic with the latest academic text, or just find something new and interesting, this is worth a trip to the city.

After Cinco de Mayo…read more It was a rainy day here in Harrisburg, PA. I took a job in Lancaster, but first, I needed my coffee--I think I'm addicted to it now! The day before, I had a great cup from Passenger, but today I stopped by Little Amps in downtown Harrisburg before hitting the road. The atmosphere was excellent; it reminded me of home in LA with the records playing, dim lighting, and vintage decor everywhere. I felt a bit torn, like one coffee house wanted me to stay and the other wanted me to leave, so I decided to "break myself in half" and visit both. After all, two of me is better than one! I highly rate Little Amps for the scenery. The vintage look and the outdoor seating make you feel like you're in Manhattan or Paris, giving you the vibe of three places all in one. If you haven't been to any of these spots yet, save your money and just visit Little Amps to get that "all-in-one" experience. The staff is very inviting and they do offer bagels, though I have to be honest: they aren't quite as good as New York bagels. I know New York bagels inside and out, and they know me! I hope my review helps you decide where to get your next caffeine fix.
