The Second Level / Upper Floor is reserved for if you are going to be ordering/dining in for the pastas and/or savory foods. I only tried their coffee today on the first level. I did go upstairs to check it out and did see a bunch of people upstairs just sitting and chilling on their laptops with their coffees/drinks; so they may not really enforce their "reserved for pasta dining only" rule. Not sure. Ambiance (First Level / First Floor) - clean, nice, laid-back, chill, cool environment. Casual setting. Cool architecture, design, layout, and decor. Can get loud inside as ceilings are high and can get echo-y, especially if there are alot of people. Also, there is music constantly playing in background. Service (First Level / First Floor) - customer service was quick and straightforward. They were nice and polite. A+. No complaints here. Coffee (First Level / First Floor) - tried their "Korean Iced Coffee" for $7.25. It was one size only and one price at $7.25. It was delicious. Almost similar tasting to a Vietnamese coffee in my opinion (both are delicious). That strong, brewed coffee flavor with this delicious milky, sweetened condensed milk taste. I am not exactly sure if they used sweetened condensed milk in the Korean iced coffee, but it sure does taste similar to it. It's quite good. Also had a "Large Hazelnut Hot Coffee" with creamer for $5.95. It was okay. Total with tax for the two drinks was $13.99. Keep in mind that the WiFi is on your receipt as a QR Code at the bottom. So if you want to use the WiFi, ask for the receipt and/or keep the receipt so that you can scan the QR Code in order to use the WiFi. There was no password on the receipt, only a QR Code that you need to scan. Overall - Yes I would recommend this place for a nice little coffee stop. Check it out for yourself. Enjoy!

As for the shaved ice, the Black Sesame presentation was downright ugly (must deduct a point for this!)...but luckily, this dessert tasted refreshingly good! In any case, we did think the pancake tasted good...but it was just lacking in the creamy topping, as only the top layer had this creamy base. The lower 2 pancakes had no cream on it...and tasted quite bland. Even the strawberry sauce was minimal...so minimal, I went up to ask for more. Also, the decorative toppings, including the strawberry, were just BLAHHH. If you come here expecting the Strawberry Souffle Pancake of the past, you'll be disappointed. Entering First Watch on a seemingly serene afternoon, one would expect a pleasant dining experience. However, the true essence of patience is tested to its limits in this establishment. From the seemingly endless wait to be seated to the exasperating delay in receiving our food, First Watch managed to turn what should have been a delightful afternoon into an exercise in frustration. Let us delve into the details of this painfully protracted experience, shall we? Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lackluster host who seemed to be more engrossed in their smartphone than attending to the growing crowd of hungry patrons. The notion of prompt seating was simply a mirage, as we languished for what felt like an eternity in the cramped foyer, forced to make polite small talk with fellow sufferers in this sea of anticipation. Finally, after what seemed like an arduous wait, we were escorted to our table. Regrettably, the interior decor did little to alleviate our growing impatience. The lighting was uncomfortably dim, and the noise level reached such heights that it became impossible to engage in any sort of meaningful conversation. It was as if the atmosphere itself was designed to heighten one's frustration. Our waitstaff, though pleasant enough, appeared to be caught in a whirlwind of confusion. Their frequent disappearances left us pondering their existence, as if they had been plucked from another dimension entirely. As minutes turned into hours, we began to suspect that our forgotten existence might be a cruel joke played by the establishment itself. Finally, our food arrived, a glimmer of hope in this sea of discontent. Alas, the culinary creations presented before us did little to redeem First Watch's shortcomings. The dishes lacked any discernible creativity, instead resembling uninspired replicas of common fare found in countless other establishments. The flavors, while passable, failed to leave a lasting impression, as if they too were disenchanted by the overall experience. It is disheartening to say that the only aspect of our afternoon that matched the wait was the duration it took to settle the bill. We were left grappling with an inexplicable delay as we patiently awaited our check. It seemed as though First Watch had mastered the art of prolonging our agony until the very last moment. In summary, First Watch is a venue that tests the endurance of even the most patient diners. From the exasperating wait to be seated, the lackluster ambiance, the confused waitstaff, and the mediocre food, the experience left much to be desired. While some may argue that good things come to those who wait, in this case, the waiting only led to further disappointment. If you value your time and sanity, it would be wise to explore alternative dining options rather than subject yourself to the torment that is First Watch. read more

Despite our unexpectedly late start to the day, there was a steady flow of customers the entire time we ate breakfast. Customers ranged from young families, single guest and friends gathering in small groups, everyone we saw ordered a variety of breakfasts. There are options for all types of morning eaters. Small portions to big meals. You are bound to find something to fit your mood. While the options are typical choices you find in many breakfast diner type businesses, the quality of the food and the freshness was evident. Nothing was "greasy" or flavorless nor was anything "slammed " together to get diners in and out quickly. Care was taken to provide a good breakfast with warm southern hospitality. I ordered the short stack (2) of the blueberry crunchcakes. They were two large blueberry pancakes topped with granola. They were not overly sweet nor did the granola conflict with the pancake experience. It was actually my second favorite pancake I've ever had. They were large enough I only ate half the order. I requested a side of bacon and it came with three strips, cooked nicely. Not too crispy and not too floppy. My husband ordered the Western Omelette which had ham, peppers, onions and cheese. He also chose the oven roasted potatoes and the English muffin. He was pleased to see there was not a ton of cheese inside as he has experienced elsewhere, so you could easily taste the various flavors of each ingredient. The portion was hearty so he too only ate half. The potatoes were perfectly golden and tasted like potatoes. Nothing was greasy nor overly salted so it felt like a hearty breakfast. If you are in town and want a yummy breakfast of some classic breakfast favorites, make it a point to eat at J. Christopher's. You will taste fresh ingredients, get good portions and won't break the bank. I wasn't a fan of the hot or iced coffee though, which always completes my morning.
