Avocado Toast w/ scrambled eggs
J David H.

On a crazy busy Sunday brunch with two nearby university parent weekends our group of four chose First Watch. The jump in line on the app has been in the past extremely reliable. We arrived in the time frame and reported to the hostess station. We were told 10 more minutes, but ended up only being 5. The friendly host sat us at a great table away from the crowds which helped noise volume. He set our table up with menus and tableware. The restaurant was packed! Every table occupied and staff hustling harmoniously. It was noisy as could be expected. Our super enthusiastic waitress brought a water craft and got additional drink orders. In short order she was back to take food orders. We put in an app of Million Dollar Bacon. However, the table required more time for mains. Within 5 minutes she was back. The app arrived in minutes and so good! If you've never got this it's a must! I ordered the avocado toast with scrambled eggs. My wife the traditional and son pancakes and bacon. Our fourth French toast. Food hit the table in under 15 minutes...wow! That impressed me. But moreover everything was hot and accurate. No complaints from anyone. My dish is always reliable when coming to First Watch. An overall above average experience that was made better by strong service. The performance of the staff stood out and elevated my rating. Checkout was smooth and I utilized a coupon promotion for buy one get one. I never have a coupon when eating out, so this was awesome to get $20 knocked off. So I flipped it back to the server for a larger tip. I think this is my first 5 star review for the breakfast and brunch chain and so well deserved. The GM should be proud of how the staff works together to provide such a high level of quality hospitality. I would return in a heartbeat.

The service and the food is excellent. Just a walk away from Drury hotel to First Watch. Thank you for a wonderful brunch. I really needed it.

Went on Father's Day and had a great experience. Joined the online waitlist and got seated immediately when we arrived. Our server was great and very attentive and answered all of our questions. The menu had lots of options with reasonable prices. The biscuit and preserves were very tasty. The iced coffee was good but did slightly taste like it had alcohol in it. We were concerned at first but I think that's just how it tastes which was good to us. Would come back and enjoy a nice brunch. Great location for me and close to some shopping spots.

Came in on my birthday 12/1 and the kitchen had my food out within 5 minutes of me ordering. I have never had any issues at this location. Kelli took good care of me and the entire cook staff signed a card for my birthday which made my snowpacolypse birthday even more special. Thank you!

The Traditional - potatoes

Service was good and quick at 1pm on a weekday. Only complaint I have is the potatoes were not fully cooked. Gross

Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos

My friend and I went here for breakfast and had a great time! We both tried the new Barbacoa Breakfast tacos and we loved them! I also upgraded my side of potatoes to the "loaded" option and they were AMAZING!!! We also had the normal iced coffee with some chocolate sauce lining the glass. The waitress was friendly and checked in with us a few times throughout our meal. The restaurant is decorated for fall and it's super cute. Go check out their limited fall menu while you can!

Always good food and great service. Was seated right away with a party of 6. Our server was Trevor. He was so nice, polite and attentive. I ordered a trifecta (waffles, eggs and chicken sausage) and a morning meditation( my favorite)! Everything was fresh and made to order. Very clean and open restaurant with plenty of seating! Definitely will be back to this location.

First Watch is literally the best and most consistent breakfast place!!! No one can change my mind. I love to try new things on their menu which usually isn't like me. At most places, I always go with what I know but everything I try is so freakin good. The last time I was in, I tried their Tri Athlete Omelet and I absolutely loved it. My boyfriend ordered one of their specials and was raving about it. (He also tries new things each time too) I love how the specials are always changing and leave you wanting more after each visit. I must add the service is always spectacular. Last time we were in, we were given complimentary donut holes since the wait on my boyfriend's entree was longer than expected. We didn't even notice or have this complaint either! Also, on his birthday months ago the server gave him a cute dessert with a candle on it. First Watch employees always going above and beyond for us and that's another reason we continue coming back.

I love a spot like this that a meal can keep me satisfied all day! The location is easy to find and ample parking is available. We didn't have a reservation however our wait time was minimal. The dining area is good for people watching too.

First Watch serves incredible food at a very reasonable price for what great quality it is. Coffee is served by the pot, bacon is highly visible across the menu, and there is a plethora of breakfast items and lunch spreads that will be served any time the restaurant is open. I've never had bad service here either. Definitely recommend going to any location of this national chain restaurant!

Not a huge fan of chains, but First Watch is definitely on my list of favorite spots. The farmhouse skillet (with goat cheese) is my go-to every time I go. The service is always on point and the staff here know how to make a birthday special. This location is a little loud & echoey and they don't have outdoor seating, but still light and airy ambiance with lots of windows.

The menu is the usual breakfast-brunchy fare, all which are prepared to order. No clean eats here, though, with the exception of having both oat and almond milk for coffee, which was a nice surprise in a diner style restaurant. I would love to see places like this offer GF bread and dairy free cheese options. I just don't think it's that hard to keep GF bread in the freezer and vegan cheese lasts forever. Just saying. Only downside is the parking. Their lot is very small and while there is a decent amount of free street parking you should anticipate the possibility of having to walk a little bit during peak hours. Recommend!

To be a last minute find a place... that was close by, easy to get into and DELICIOUS! This place checked all the boxes. We went in around noon. We bought parking close to The Arch but it didn't start until 2 PM so we were trying to time it just right. We were here just over 1 hour. It allowed us plenty of time to eat and drive time to Arch parking. It wasn't on purpose but we both ended up with chorizo. I had a chorizo bowl with sunny eggs. I did want some fruit so I ended up with a side of fruit and 2 biscuits. The biscuits are droolworthy; Not enough places make biscuits like that. My wife ordered the chorizo omelet. She loved it but had plenty to take for leftovers. They have a small parking lot but we parked on the nearby side street and didn't have an issue. I thought we'd have to wait for a table but we didn't have any wait. Maybe this is a hidden gem of St Louis. It certainly is to us because it was so tasty. This place deserves all the business. 269 percent worth checking out! What are you waiting for?

The restaurant is located on a quaint corner with a couple outdoor benches for waiting. We went for a busy Sunday morning brunch service. Staff was very proficient at getting diners in and we were very okay with the wait. The inside is very pleasant, a mix between a bar vibe and mom & pop diner vibe. Once we were seated is when our experience began to drift away. Our particular server greeted us fairly quickly, but after taking our drink order we waited for 15+ minutes for them to be brought out. Initially I gave the server some grace, assuming it was perhaps because they were busy. As our brunch continued it became apparent our particular server was either bad at her job or just didn't care and the initial wait for our drinks was pretty on par with the rest of this server's attentiveness to our visit. I will say the rest of the staff seemed amazing. The manager/owner(?) came and checked on us a couple times and seemed invested in our experience. The product itself was amazing. Great menu selections (food, drinks, boozy options, and the food and drinks themselves were outstanding. Fun environment. One of the TVs in our section was playing old GI Joe cartoons (right in my wheelhouse) while the other had sports programming on. My hope is the particular server we had was an outlier for this establishment, which is why despite her horrible service, I provided a rating. Our server brought our check out while we were still eating. My drink was empty and I intended on ordering another one but I wasn't asked. Despite this visit, I would certainly return and give the service a second chance.

Overall rating 3.5/5, even though I can't give half stars here on Yelp. One star for ambiance/vibes. This is a gorgeous, quaint little eatery in a lush area of Saint Louis County, right near Grant's Trail. One star for service. My server was a kind lady who made sure I was always doing well and kept my water glass topped off. One star for going above and beyond--I ordered gooey butter cake as a sweet treat and apparently whomever cut the slices made them too small so they gave me two but only charged me for one. Half a star for the gooey butter cake and espresso martini. Neither was the best instance of either I've ever had but they were the best part of the actual meal. Unfortunately, I think I made the wrong entree choice. I went with the biscuit (singular) and gravy and a side of sausage links. The biscuit is described as "jumbo" but didn't feel much bigger than what I'd consider a regular-sized biscuit. It also wasn't nearly as fluffy as I would have liked and was quite tough and hard at points, nearly requiring the use of a knife to cut it. The gravy was relatively flavorless and wasn't improved much by either salt or pepper. The sausage links were passable. I'm willing to give the shop another shot (and order something different) once I try some other brunch places on my list but I was a little disappointed on this visit because I wanted to like my food more.
