They have omelets on the menu to choose from with clever names like "Everything John Denver". The omelets are huge! You can also create your own omelet by choosing your protein and vegetables. And a variety of cheeses. And you get crispy hash browns and a bread of choice! Jelly is available as are hot sauces. If you like pancakes, these are the best. One pancake is big enough for two or more and is soooo tender. Served with warm syrup! They also have waffles! And protein bowls. The staff is always attentive and friendly. For some inexplicable reason, we ordered all of our food AND an extra chocolate chip pancake to share. We were soooo full. I broke from my tradition and got a lunch item instead of breakfast. I did enjoy my turkey avocado wrap though. I had a craving for country fried steak (or chicken fried steak). Finally settled on the Shack. Good decision on my part. The wait for a table was 15-20 minutes, but since I was dining alone, I just went to the bar and ate there. My server, Lindsey, was fielding the bar, bar tables, to go orders, and dietary questions on the phone. And she did it well. I never felt neglected. The sausage gravy on the CFS was delicious. I was trying to be kind about the situation but since this place doesn't respond to suggestions or complaints I'm putting a review! Had they not ignored me I would had left it private! My concern with this place is that the cook we had did not take my allergy seriously when I explained I was allergic to onions! The waitress was amazing and did everything she could to prevent the incident! When I received my plate I bit into several chunks of onion and spit it out showing my waitress! She quickly took it back asking the cook to remake it! Instead of the cook apologizing he had approached me saying there was no onion in the dish! I told him I pulled chunks out of my mouth and showed the waitress! He asked do I want him to remake it or what? I said yes, remained calm and understanding! About a minute or 2 later the remake came out! I ate most of it to find chunks of onion all over the bottom of the plate which tells me he took my plate where the onions were on the top and flipped it onto a new plate putting the onions in the bottom! When leaving my throat was swollen just enough to make it difficult to swallow the quinoa that was stuck in my throat... after leaving my face began to swell mainly my left eye! I had to ice it and take allergy meds when I got home! My face was sore for a few days after and when trying to reach out and suggest the cooks be better trained on allergies and to take it serious before something more serious happens I have been ignored! I have Celiac Disease and my boyfriend has wheat and milk allergies, so I really appreciate so much that there are restaurants like this that take food allergies seriously. They have gluten-free menus. I love that they can prepare allergy-friendly food separately and that they identify gluten-free food with little wooden sticks. This keeps me healthy and lowers my anxiety about eating out. I also like the free adjacent parking lot. Unfortunately, my recent experience did not meet expectations. First, you can't make a reservation. You can either show up and wait or go to the website to join the waitlist. We got on the waitlist pretty early on a busy Sunday morning, and when we signed up, it said we would wait anywhere from 75 minutes to over two hours. This made planning our day very difficult. We had to keep checking the waitlist online status and then made a decision to physically drive there. Once we got there our online waitlist time was "over" but we still had to wait a moderately long time to be seated. Previously the menu included a lot of specials (yes, even the gluten-free food) and I remember LOVING a huge Elvis-themed pancake special with a bunch of toppings. This time, when I looked at the gluten-free menu, there were no special entrees. Very basic food. We were really only coming to this restaurant for the gluten-free pancakes, as I can't tolerate eggs/omelets. After the long wait and finally getting seated, I got ready to ask our server some questions about the menu since items aren't labeled as whether they contain milk or not. She said, "before you bother ask, we don't have any more gluten-free pancakes today." Then she looked at my boyfriend and said, "not that you care because they contain milk." I was shocked. I never would have waited over three hours to eat here if I knew that they did not have GF pancakes. We ended up ordering two skillets: The Kitchen Sink for me (I gave the eggs to my mom) and the Corned Beef 'n' Hash for my boyfriend, plus a side of bacon for the three of us to share. When the food arrived, it was greasy, unappealing and did not taste good. I typically love hash browns and bacon. Despite the menu's description that the skillets are "on a bed of hash browns," it was tough to find any hash browns in my skillet. We didn't get sick from allergy cross-contamination, but, sadly, I don't think I would ever return here again. read more
