This place is adorable. It was a cold and rainy day so luckily we came after the morning rush and had no problem. Sitting at one of the small tables. The staff were friendly and smiling and made me feel very welcome. I got a biscuit and gravy and couldn't decide between spicy gravy or traditional sausage gravy so I was offered the opportunity for half and half and I jumped in it. Both gravy's were so flavorful with plenty of sausage. The biscuit was delicious. It was not flaky and buttery but held up well to the gravy atop it so I liked the texture a lot. I also got a hash brown and it was seasoned well and needed no ketchup or the like. It wasn't amazing, but compared to some others it was very good... but let's face it, I didn't go to a biscuit shop for the hash browns. I got a peach tea which was outstanding. Definitely on the sweeter side but that was so easily fixed by letting the ice melt to bring the sweetness down a bit to my preference. Overall I was very happy with my food and the staff and would definitely recommend giving it a try for both sweet and savory biscuits. Will return to try a sweet biscuit next time :) read more

I emailed this business in an attempt to have someone acknowledge their staff's poor service, but am frustrated with no response, and more people should know they have nasty service. There are plenty of breakfast and biscuit spots in this city. Don't spend your money here. I have been eating here for a long time and recently had a terrible experience on weds, Jan 28. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we chose to come here to start the day. It got a little busy after we came in , but asked for water and the jug never got filled. That's not even my complaint. Just a nod to the laziness. The staff seemed to come in and spread out everywhere at a table in the small indoor eating area. No big deal, but a little messy. There was no music playing and my gf said in normal conversation to me that there was no music and the vibe was off and that they probably focus on the patio being the vibe (which was covered in a foot of snow)...to which the man at the counter proceeded to ask us how things were and wrap it up with snarkily telling us we were welcome to outside. It was gross to talk to customers like that, and I am sorry that the ego of the employee caused them to interject themselves into a conversation that wasn't rude or loud or had anything to do with them. In my 20 years in the industry I would definitely not support my staff practicing such crappy service. And it really embarrassed us publicly in a quiet restaurant for no reason. Again. Honey Bee's is a local favorite, and the owners are the kind of people that make you want them to be successful. The biscuits are really large and come in lots of amazing variations. I'm really enjoyed my breakfast on the patio and I enjoy the variety of their garden. I will definitely be back to try a lot more of their biscuit offerings. read more

The food tasted great! I got the breakfast burrito and obviously couldn't wait for one picture before I took a bite. I have a fairly larger than normal appetite and still this burrito filled me up! Their indoor seating is unfortunately extremely small but if you go during a time of the year it feels great outside they have plenty of room. I was craving biscuit and gravy and I didn't have the ingredients to make them at home. I've been here before because of a Yelp event but I couldn't remember if I liked the biscuits or not. So I decided to give it another try. It's a cute corner resturant with plenty of outside seating and limited dining in. They had a lot of staff but a bit slow with taking orders. I ordered the biscuit and regular gravy with a mixed berry ice tea. The tea was so good. Not too sweet and the mixed berry flavor was just right. I wish they offered a bigger cup because I would definitely order a large. My food, very filling and the sausage gravy was really good. My biscuit, a little too hard for me. I wish it was a fluffy biscuit with a light crisp on the outside. It seems a bit hard throughout. I came around noon so maybe that's why but I feel this biscuit was cooked too long. I decided to come here on a Saturday morning to get a fresh biscuit. I was able to find some street parking, but there is a large public parking lot behind the store with available spots. It is a small restaurant with seating both indoors and outdoors. The inside tables are very limited and fill up quickly. I ended up finding more open tables outside. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, a blueberry biscuit, and the Bee Kind (iced vanilla coffee). All of the staff were very nice and respectful. The wait time for my food was under 10 minutes. The coffee was good, a basic vanilla coffee. The sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was my favorite thing I ate. The sandwich was warm, full of flavor, and filling. The biscuit did fall apart as I was eating it, but it was still good. The blueberry biscuit is what I won't order again. The biscuit was clearly overcooked, hard, and dry. It had a nice blueberry flavor, but I prefer my biscuits to be softer and flakier. Honey bees is a great restaurant for brunch in Kirkwood. It has lots of outdoor seating options and the rather long line moves quickly. I stopped by recently and got the pumpkin special which was delicious and came out quick. The last time I went I got the biscuit and gravy and it was a little on the salty side so I stuck to sweet this visit. My daughter got a honey butter biscuit and a side of bacon. They have some creative flavors for their coffee but the lattes aren't my favorite...although it hasn't deterred me from continuing to order them. Both were pretty solid, the only reason I rated it 4/5 is because I do think there are better spots if you're looking for biscuit meals that being said it still was delicious. Ooooh, I am a sucker food for comfort food and biscuits are just that. I came here a few times, and first let me start off with the experience. It's always a good time coming here. Everyone I encounter is friendly from the time I get out the car, to the time I get back in the car. Now for the eats. I usually get the coffee and I believe I got the Bee Salty, and the second time around, it was too salty. The first time was amazing, but I saw that it was consistent when it came to that. The sandwiches are huge, so I always end up taking half home. But, it's perfect! First visit after hearing a lot about this breakfast/brunch spot in Kirkwood. It's a small space but on this Friday we got right in and found a table right away. My wife and I shared an order of a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sammie with classic sausage gravy smothering it, and then a French toast orange biscuit with cinnamon pineapple compote. Sounds amazing right? The flavors were outstanding! I'd say the biscuit sammie was the bee's knees. The French toast was very burnt on the edges as you may see in the photo and extremely difficult to cut even with a knife and eat. It tasted great, but we had to pick around the burnt parts. Other than that we enjoyed our dining experience. The latte we shared was also really tasty with a smooth blend of rich espresso, velvety cream, and a perfect amount of syrup that wasn't too sweet. Overall, the experience was delightful--from the warm atmosphere to the attentive service and flavorful dishes and drinks.
