Chicken Fried chicken with mashed potatoes green beans and a roll
Tom K.

Went to uncle Bill's for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was tender and crispy and well seasoned. It was very good. The white gravy was also well seasoned. My wife ordered the county fried steak but received a chicken fried chicken another steak was brought out but after we had finished our meal. We both thought the chicken was better than the steak. Our waitress was very good as she caught the mistake on my wife's meal on the way to our table. Uncle Bill's is a nice diner and a place you can get breakfast all day long if you like.

Pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, hash browns and sausage links.

Classic diner/breakfast food with that classic aesthetic. Very busy on weekends so expect a wait at times.

Spicy Andouille Sausage & Egga

Joined a large group of women here for a weekday brunch. The service was STELLAR and the amount of food you get for the money was good. It's a diner ambiance, so nothing special there. I didn't see anything on their menu that was "different" which is what I'm usually looking for. The spicy sausage I got was a little different, but it remained a basic breakfast. It's a good breakfast, but not necessarily what I crave. Wish they served cocktails!

Extremely Disappointing Lunch at Cooper's Hawk…read more After 27 years in the restaurant industry, I have a LOT of patience and understanding when it comes to dining out. But today's experience was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. We arrived at 11:40 a.m. for an early lunch and were seated directly next to a party of 12, despite the dining room being practically empty. Our server seemed to have absolutely no time management skills. We ordered a burger and a prime rib French dip. After being told our food would be out in "a couple of minutes," we waited a total of 49 MINUTES! When the manager finally brought our food, the plates were too hot to touch, making me wonder how long they'd been sitting under the heat lamps. My sandwich bun was so hard I could practically knock on it, and the burger ordered medium was gray and completely overcooked. I explained to the manager that my meal was inedible. To his credit, he took it back and removed it from our bill, which I appreciated. But here's what really got me. Our server NEVER apologized, never acknowledged what happened and then came over to ask if we needed boxes. BOXES?! For what? The food I didn't get to eat? ‍ We finally left at 1:15 p.m. That's an hour and 35 minutes for an early lunch, and I left HUNGRY. As someone who has spent nearly three decades serving guests, I understand that things go wrong. But communication, attentiveness, accountability and a simple apology cost absolutely nothing. I still left a (small) tip because I would never stiff a fellow server. But this experience was incredibly disappointing, especially for a restaurant with Cooper's Hawk's reputation.

The bartender makes a great old fashioned cocktail. It was so smooth. (It wasn't even my drink). They have lots of good wine options too. Meatball appetizer was okay IMO but hubs really liked it. Have to give that bartender a shout out because he was amazing. He did a great job of waiting on a full bar and a very party that came in for happy hour. And he was essentially by himself. No bar back. Sometimes other people did lend a hand but he did the bulk of it. When we sat at our table we also had good service. I again ordered beet salad but then got the gnocchi too. The gnocchi themselves were meh but the sauce was very tasty. The ribeye was very good and cooked just right. Side order of mushrooms were a little disappointing. We finished off with the brownie sundae. Best part of that was the ice cream. I mentioned my husband's birthday when I made the reservation but they didn't acknowledge it at all. That would have been fine except for the table next to us got candle etc for someone's birthday.

The staff is genuinely friendly that early and that fresh cup of coffee hits different. The Fall menu has arrived so you have to try a large pumpkin pancake! I like their fresh juices too. They pack a punch without all that sugar. The only complaint I have is that the music could be softer and a staff member should take turns managing the registers so you don't feel like you have to wait to leave and pay if you don't use the QR option. Accessibility note: the aisles are wide and the booths and tables move for easy access. They have accessible menus online too. The restrooms are unisex but the doors are a little heavy. In spite of the first person working the front did not even acknowledge me upon walking in up to the front desk to be seated. After a few minutes I was greated by a pleasant person who took my name and seated me. The Morning meditation juice is very refreshing. The Plain pancake (dry over cooked on one side). The BEC (substituted the bacon with turkey sausage). The toast was overcooked, was difficult to bite. The BEC sign out front is what drew me in to want to order. Unfortunately was told that there is a substitution on the aioli and that the sandwich is really no longer available as of 5/25. Yet there is still a sign outside the front door. After eating what I could, I asked for a to-go box and check which took some time to get. Packed up and left by that time the restaurant crowd was almost gone. Not sure if I will go back to this location.

Stevie was my server that night and she provided friendly top notch service. I ordered a spicy margarita for my cocktail. I was a little disappointed with the drink. It was very cucumber forward, had a nice heat, but lacked that signature lime flavor and tartness required of a good margarita. The brussel sprouts and cheese grits were a must try for me. The pork chop was the perfect entree to accompany these sides. The brussel sprouts were charred and crispy. The balsamic glaze paired nicely with the charred flavor. The pork chop is served in a very generous portion juicy and tender. The citrus sauce paired nicely with the pork. The cheese grits were creamy and delicious. All in all a delightful meal. The portions were generous enough for me to have hearty meal of leftovers the next day. The menu is fairly concise with burgers, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, beer/pork/chicken entrees, and salads. They have something for just about everyone. The appetizer menu offers loaded brussel sprouts with bacon balsamic and feta. This would have been too much to tackle by myself. I plan on bringing my friends next time to share this dish.

Just the right amount of food for us both that evening. Service was good and the atmosphere was relaxed and fairly quiet. Instead, I wanted someone else to cook for me and I knew just the place! I suggest to my hubby that we visit Polly's Diner and he was all for it! When we arrived, we had to park out in the back (I really hope the parking lot can be updated or repaired in the future becuase right now, it's so bad), but that's not going to stop me! When we walked inside, we were greeted right away and they had a table available, so we were seated quickly! Our server was already offering coffee and water to us which was perfect. She gave us time to check the menu and since I already knew what I wanted, I helped my hubby make a decision since so many items were on his list. He eventually ordered the western skillet and I ordered the strawberry pancakes which I could not wait to eat! While we waited for our food, the server(s) on the floor were checking in with us and chatting with us ehile they refilled our coffee. Once the food arrived, I was so ready to dig in! My pancakes were topped with strawbery glaze and so many strawberries, I knew I would not be able to finish, but that didn't stop me from trying. I did eventually need to ask for a box and broght them home for later. My hubby said that the skillet was really good and had all his favorite food items included. It was such a good breakfast and honestly, for the price, we know we were fed well. Once we were done, we went to the counter to pay and were on our way.
