Have frequented this location a handful of times and have always left full and with a smile on my face. Today was the first time I had the trifecta for breakfast & it was a 5 out of 5 for me. I come here often and the food is always incredible. As someone who used to work as a waitress, I really value kindness and good service--and this place never disappoints. Mercedes was our server today. She's new but doing an amazing job. She went above and beyond to make sure my daughter and I felt comfortable and taken care of. We're usually served by Jose, who is also fantastic. Both Mercedes and Jose have such calm, caring energy and you can tell they truly care about giving the best experience possible. The managers, Stacey and Kelly, are wonderful too. They always greet us with a smile and make us feel welcome. My daughter loves Kelly and Stacey so much she always wants a hug. The menu has a plethora of choices that please the hearty carnivore to the super-conscious vegan. I love their house-made juices. Came here around noon it was not very busy, we got seated outside right away. 15 minutes went by before I had to check with the hostess to see if I should come inside to be assisted. It seems they didn't know we were outside. Our server came and took our orders, he was very friendly. Strong Coffee seasonal menu items and breakfast and lunch options that hit thespot . Things have changed for the better . Several years ago I'd agree with the one and two star reviews but they have come a long way and drastically improved. The waitstaff that I'm used to seeing at this location is super helpful give great service and are pleasant to chat with . The food has gotten consistent and the kids menu is equally good. I personally like trying new things on the seasonal menu especially the drinks like the Cranberry crush but there are serval go too dishes I have to recommend. For one if you want something healthy and hearty the oatmeal breakfast is perfect it comes with fruits on top with milk and brown sugar on the side so you can add what you want . It also comes with a fresh baked muffin or your choice of toast . The Million Dollar bacon is my next recommendation, skip the regular side of bacon and treat yourself to some sweet and salty goodness ! Third is the elevated egg sandwich which has avocado bacon egg arugula and Gruyère cheese with a side of potatoes and never disappoints. As for kids mine particularly love the waffles and yogurt bowl but they have grilled cheese and pancakes as well if they aren't into that . There is a half sandwich and soup option and many other items for even the pickiest of eaters . If you don't believe this place has changed you need to see the line on the weekend which brings me to the next point . If you reserve a place online don't think that means that when you show up there is no wait . That just means you have put your name on the waitlist list.There are still people that have been there before you patiently waiting so don't barge in like I saw some lady do and act like she was blown away and upset at having to still wait a few minutes as if she was royalty and was being inconvenienced. One of the cool things about this place is that they have a community table at the front and it's first come first serve. So if you don't want to wait and the community table has enough seats your alway welcome to sit at it and enjoy the company of others and immediately be served . Don't be shy it's a great alternative to waiting 30 plus minutes sometimes and you get the same full service and menu as other tables . Enjoyed my breakfast with my brother at this location of First Watch. We were greeted promptly and seated. I ordered the Floridian French Toast while my brother ordered the Bacado Omlette. I love this restaurant. It's one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. Service is always top notch, and I love how open and welcoming each location is. The bench seating is my favorite. I tried a new drink this time, the tangerine dream. It was the right balance of tangy and smooth. I love that they use coconut milk in it. This was the first time I have had the frittata rustica, and it won't be the last. It was so yummy with the mushrooms, cheeses, and sun dried tomatoes. (They remembered to cut the onions for me.) The lemon vinaigrette on the spring lettuce was a nice counterpoint to the substantial frittata. I also enjoyed a slice of gluten free toast with house made strawberry jam. Yum! I've been eating at the First Watch on N 183 since they opened. I have always received excellent service and the food is above above average. Usually my family and I come here for breakfast. The granola pancakes rock. Today we came at lunch. I had the Roast Beef and Havarti sandwich. The beef was perfectly cooked. The bread had a layer of hard melted cheese on the outside and soft gooey Harvarti cheese on the inside. It came with a side of mild horseradish. The horseradish was well balanced with just enough spice to sting my nose. Very enjoyable meal. This First Watch local will continue to me on 'My Keepers List'. read more

I used to LOVE this chain in Chicago, but it's terrible down here in Austin! I've given them 3 shots and each time...epic fail! My partner and I went this Saturday morning and were shunned at the door for not having a reservation, but were seated immediately. Ummm, ok Service was great, she was attentive and anticipated needs. Knowledgeable and friendly. Food tho, ugh! One dish was so greasy we left with stomach aches. We ordered the Barbacoa Chilaquiles special and a Brooklyn Breakfast Sandwich. The sandwich was very flavorful but oozed with grease...who sprays the top of a bun with cooking oil?! The barbacoa was delicious but sparse - over all a good dish. This was shot number 3 and the experience won't having me running back to any of the Austin locations. Watermelon mint juice was very refreshing and I love that it wasn't sweet. Carnitas burrito was more on the brunch vibe since it had pickled onion on it. Really good and filling, just wish the tortilla wasn't so thick. Eggs with biscuit and turkey gravy was good and plenty for one person. So that left the Parm skillet to make a really good lunch to split for 2 people. Overall everything was really fresh. They had a designated area for pick up orders. Everyone was wearing masks. 4/5. We arrived around 11am on a Thursday. There wasn't really a wait, only a couple in front of us. The waiting area and check-in are incredibly small and it's difficult to move. Additionally, the counter where you pay (for some reason) is right next to the area where you'd wait to be seated. So we noticed as we were leaving there was a line to pay and it was in the way of everyone trying to check-in and get seated. Very inconvenient design. The food was very good. I ordered the millionaire's bacon and the avocado toast. My girlfriend ordered the banana's foster french toast. No complaints at all about the food. It was decently hot (bacon could have been hotter) and tasted great. It was seasoned well and fresh. One thing we noted as how all the staff looked fairly miserable. No one was smiling, no one was being necessarily friendly or chatty. All the employees just looked stoic. Our waiter was nice but we didn't see him much. He took our order and rarely showed up, he didn't even bring us our food. Mainly, I'd go again to try more of the food offerings. We tried again on a Sunday brunch but it had a line out the door and of course there was no room inside to stand or wait, so we just left. Let's be real. This is my go-to post kid drop breakfast meet up spot for sure. The staff is very friendly and even has a great sense of humor with folks like me who can be a bit much in the morning! They have great breakfast cocktail options for those of us who like to say "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" or while wine tasting refer to a crisp white as a "perfect brunch wine". The food has been hit or miss with each visit. I'll either comment that it's like Dennys quality or that it's trying too hard. The ambiance is super casual and overall it's a great breakfast. I have yet to go later in the day, so I'm sure there will be an update needed once that happens. My one bit of advice Re: biscuits and gravy? Have them add a sunny side up egg on top! We tried First Watch for the first time today. We went for breakfast, and my companions split the Million Dollar bacon, which they both enjoyed (no comment, as I'm a veggie). I had the veggie omelette and they each got a version of the eggs Benedict. Everyone liked what they had...nothing was left on anyone's plate. My husband also had a Bloody Mary, which was unmemorable. The service was good. They were busy, but our waitress, Amy, was patient, attentive and offered suggestions when we had questions. The manager, Kelly Ann, stopped by to check on us as well. The restaurant is attractive, and the music was a good selection at a good volume. Portions excellent for your money; and the Pomegranate Sunrise was super tasty!
