Crystal made sure our drinks were always full and we exchanged stories and laughter about living in Florida. I wish we had a local place like the River Road House where we live, love that local feel! The steaks, burgers, quesadilla's, and chicken salad were all fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by for a beer, some great food, all in a low key and down to earth little restaurant. And..as a side note, the ladies room was so clean! That is so appreciated! Thank you Crystal and all the staff at River Road House!

I still really like this place, but the service was way off on this particular day, even though they were not busy. We ordered three Road House Burgers, two with sweet potatoes fries, and one with regular fries. We were only served one burger w/ sweet potato fries, but we were charged $3 extra for each burger! And one burger was missing bacon. The amount of blue cheese crumbles and caramelized onions was minuscule. The burger patties themselves are unseasoned, so the toppings are key. Overall, it's a decent burger and I like their fries, but it's hard to overlook the mistakes with our ordering, especially when we were overcharged because of it.

Greek salad $13 was good with fresh cut up vegetables and of course the drinks were good A full glass of Riesling $9 and Sam Seasonal $14. Hopefully the menu will increase to maybe some sandwiches in the future. The best part was the happy go lucky server Lynne very pleasant to talk to and johnny on the spot when you needed something.

Done. It was an instant hit. I wanted the pastrami sandwich pictured on the website. Turns out, it was every bit as good as it looked. Probably the best I've had in the Capital Region. I think it came with coleslaw but they let me switch it for a small salad. The beer was cold. The server/ bartender was both friendly and efficient. The food came up relatively quickly. I was relieved and delighted. The tavern has just the right look. It's cute from the outside with nice signage. Inside, the lighting is dim-- especially at night--with the feel of a cool dive bar. If you want a more festive setting during the summer, there's outdoor seating complete with hanging string lights. That actually looked very inviting but my friends chose to stay indoors due to the threat of rain. As we prepared to leave, my friends were wondering why they hadn't been to the tavern before. One thing for sure is that we'll be back for more "good cheap eats" and great beer.

The server seemed confused and said it only came in one size. She did charge me the less expensive price. It was good but pasta was over cooked a tad bit. Also no bread on table or served with it. My friend had the mussels which were to be served with a crostini. They said they were being baked and would take ten minutes. It never came. The meal was average and I always give places more than one chance, so I will go back. I think it is worth trying. Maybe ask a few questions about the menu.

The appetizers were amazing, great meatballs, chicken & pastas. I had the Prime Rib for dinner which was cooked to perfection. My only issue was the "Instant Mashed Potatoes"! I found the service to also be excellent, water glasses kept full, quick delivery of hot food and cleanup.

The Point, I think refers to where the cafe is situated, at the point (or corner) of the street. From the outside, it could use some curb appeal. After entering, the inside could use some sprucing up as well. That being said, we sat in the other dining area and I couldn't wait to order the chilaquiles, my favorite breakfast from Mexico. The waitress took her time getting over and took our order, walked over to the computer to send it to the kitchen. I can't even begin to tell you how magical my breakfast was! Everything I wanted, fresh avocado, chicken and jalapeños, perfectly cooked eggs. Thank you for offering delicious meals. I hope to return.

Another one of the perks is they not only offer the usual breakfast menu items like omelets, butter milk pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, etc., but they also serve Mexican offerings like chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, huevos a la Mexicana. More menu items for a slightly cheaper price, sign me up. I did order the huevos rancheros...twice. I guess I liked them. Menu states the huevos rancheros consists of "2 eggs over easy, over fried corn tortillas, topped with homemade salsa and Mexican cheese. Served with refried beans and rice." The first time, they added sliced avocados. The second time...nada. Hey, they used what was available. I also adore that dining out sometimes can get one out of a funk. Sometimes, I get so used to routine and habit that even a restaurant dish that is slightly out of my wheelhouse can get me thinking, acting, and appreciating things a bit more. If you're looking for breakfast/brunch that offers more options, no need to go further than the Point.

Another great visit to Innovo Kitchen I've been to Innovo Kitchen several times over the years and have reviewed them before, and today's visit didn't disappoint either. One thing I really like about Innovo is that they frequently change the menu, so there's always something new to try, and I've never had trouble finding something that sounds good. Tonight I went with the Rigatoni Riggies with tomato vodka sauce and chicken, and it was delicious. The warm bread that came with it was also really tasty. We also tried the Dorito Cool Ranch tater tots, which were delightful. But the real showstopper was the peanut butter mud pie. Soooooo good. Definitely one of those desserts that makes you wish you had ordered two. What really made tonight's visit memorable, though, was our waiter, Matthew. He noticed the funny design on my T-shirt and struck up a conversation about it. We laughed and chatted for a bit, and eventually he mentioned that he's been a waiter for 27 years. It showed. Matthew was high-energy, funny, personable, and attentive without being overbearing. He checked on us several times and seemed to genuinely enjoy what he was doing. Watching him work was like watching someone who has truly mastered his craft. It was a master class in waitership, and it made an already great meal even better. Great food, a fun atmosphere, and an excellent server. Another very enjoyable visit to Innovo Kitchen.

They are always pleasant and attentive. However, the food is not as good as a story. Your "experience" starts by reading the menu and being greeted by relatively high prices - which isn't an issue if the food is stellar (spoiler alert, it's not). I have had multiple dishes here from a roast beef sandwich, burger, chicken Caesar salad, an onion pasta dish, and even a lobster Cobb salad. Every single dish lacks seasoning, culinary character, and is just bland. I want to like it, but they make it very hard. If you go here, maybe just have a drink at the bar and go eat some place else.

There is a parking lot behind the restaurant with free parking after 5. The menu reads exciting and includes a lot of fun and modern ingredients, the space is bright and inviting and we had great service. The cocktail menu was small and uninspired, but we enjoyed a few cocktails. My favorite of the night was a dirty martini with house stuffed blue cheese olives. Their aviation inspired cocktail called Flight 99 was okay, but left me wanting an aviation. We decided to get a few appetizers the share over some cocktails and didn't order any entrees. We started with the Shrimp Ceviche and the Foie Gras Torchon. Both plates arrived and the presentation left a lot to be desired. The shrimp ceviche was good but the baby corn and sweet potato were weird. It didn't belong at all. I don't know if it is traditional or what but it just took up space, made the presentation uninviting and added nothing to the dish. The chips were great though and the shrimp were large and of great quality. The Foie gras torchon was like a chilled pate, it was alright. 4 tiny slices of toast was not enough for the plate, the green strawberry compote was a good pairing, the dressed greens were fine but again, didn't add much to the dish. We heard the special of soft shell crab and wanted to order it. For the second round, we ordered the bone marrow and soft shell crab. The bone marrow was maybe 3 bites, the bones were very dry and didn't have much marrow to scrape so that was disappointing. The soft shell crab was a large portion and was very good and treat to have during the season. However, it was $65. Maybe our fault for not asking but that price is obscene for that dish. It was soft shell crab over spinach. We were pretty full and ended the meal with bread pudding which was fine. Our bill before tip was $280 for 4 appetizers, 6 cocktails and a dessert. I was sticker shocked. I really regret not asking the price on the soft shell crab. The food did not live up to the hype at all and I don't think I would return based on the quality and prices.
