What really impressed me was that we had a couple lamps with loose screws and were wobbly. We didn't mention it to our movers, we figured we'd fix them later. When the lamps arrived at our new home, the lamps were no longer wobbly. I asked our mover, Shane, about it and he said they noticed the lamps needed a quick fix so they tightened some screws for us. They did that without being asked. I know that seems so small, but we've never had a moving company go above and beyond like that. No damage, no scratches on walls, and they finished in less time than I was quoted. We hate moving, but these guys really made this day feel easy and smooth. Estaban and Key showed up promptly and friendly. We had worked with Nicole ahead of time to get an estimate, who also was fantastic. What was surprising is the care they took for every item. We had pre-packed all the boxes, but they inspected each one, and if there was room, they placed crumpled paper in the voids to make sure the items were safe. For the furniture, they wrapped EVERY item in at least two-three layers of crumpled paper wrap to protect the finish. For the loose items we didn't trust ourselves to pack, they came with all the materials to make sure they were packed safely. They were courteous the entire process, and after NINE hours of moving the finished and looked exhausted but satisified with a job well done. I should also mention some of our furniture was HEAVY (like Piano heavy) and they bravely and skillfully navigated those challenges with mental and physical strength! In a couple years once we find our new place in Spain, they already have all of our goods CUSTOMS ready! We just need to call them with our location in Spain and a few months later our goods will show up in the same condition they were picked up in. I will come back to review once our items arrive in Spain, but I have no doubts in Hansen brothers as I used them 20 years ago for another significant move, and also had an amazing experience then. We are SO lucky to have a company like this (around for 130+ years!) to lean on for the REALLY hard job they do - at affordable rates.

We chose not to move a significant amount of furniture and belongings but we still had a lot to move. We packed everything ourselves so we took responsibility for breakage but only 2 glasses were broken in a box where I did not pack enough newspaper around them. They were scheduled to begin at 8AM on a Thursday and 4 men and the owner of the company showed up right on time. The owner left after checking in and telling me we were in capable hands. Everyone seemed to know each other and they worked like a well oiled machine. I could not believe how much each man carried. Sometimes they would put 6 heavy boxes on a dolly or one man would handle a huge chest of drawers. They worked like demons and took minimal breaks. The truck was loaded by 11:30AM and they were at my new place by 12:30PM and ready to unload. They knew right where to go and what to do but there was some delay because the complex did not initially unlock one of the doors. They had to park the truck outside the building and carry everything through the parking garage, through an interior door and up 4 floors on an elevator. Then they had to carry back the same distance because our apartment was at the end of a hallway. We had a complex bed and set of office furniture that had to be disassembled and reassembled on site and that took some extra time. The work was done by 4:30PM and they billed by the hour for the 4 man crew. The cost was a bit more than originally quoted by that was the nature of the work. Everyone worked hard all day with great efficiency. As we left our old house, the last thing they said to me was to check and make sure we had not forgotten anything and I walked through the house to be sure. In my haste, I overlooked 2 boxes which I later took in my car the next day but more importantly, I overlooked a safe that I could not lift. I called the company 2 days later and explained what happened. they told me they had a crew working in the same retirement complex and sent them over to pick up my safe and stand at no extra charge. These guys are top notch.

There was no follow up from management either in how the move went or any feedback solicited. I wouldn't use them again purely for these reasons. Their prices are comparable to others in the area so why settle for mediocre service? Also, they charge you a fee for using a credit card, which was not conveyed in any of my quote prices originally sent from the manager. I found this out the day of the move.
