Awesome rooftop spot in Seattle! The vibes are great with plans all around, nice decor, and a pretty rooftop deck outside with a nice view of the city. The cocktails are delicious with unique options. Staff is always friendly! I'd make a reservation if you're coming during evenings or weekends it can get busy.

The ambiance was amazing but the service could use some improvement. I'm usually not super hard on service, understanding how busy times can get but the server rarely came by and it was not busy. He seemed to interact with some tables frequently and others not so frequently. We definitely would have drank more if we had been checked on just a little more often. Regardless, we had an amazing time because the view is incredible. The clarified milk punch I got was great! The cocktails are strong too. Could use a better dirty martini batch too! But maybe that's just preference :-)

Don't know if it was just an off night, but the service was terrible. It was fairly empty for a Saturday night, but somehow we still weren't helped for a while. A party was seated after ours and helped before we were even acknowledged. Even when someone came by, the waiter ignored me completely and instead just looked at my partner the whole time when asking what we wanted to order. No one ever came over after our drinks were delivered so we just decided to not get another drink and just be done with the evening. We were excited to try Firn out but after this experience, we are likely not going to come back. The drinks were fine but pricey. Combined with the above experience, it makes it even more disappointing overall.

A hot new rooftop bar that's quickly becoming a favorite. Located on the 6th floor of a hotel, it welcomes you with friendly service right from the lobby. The moment you step inside, the chic interior and stunning views pull you in. The vibe is casual yet stylish, with comfy seating and super friendly staff that make us want to stay a little longer. The cocktail list is creative and perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening out. The menu is mostly light snacks, making it a great spot for drinks and small bites. The only downside? Parking can be a challenge--especially on game days--so plan ahead.

Pretty aesthetics and long wooden table!

Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful view! Firm is inside the Populus Hotel in Pioneer Square and it's very much new! This is probably the best rooftop bar in Seattle in terms of greenery and sustainability! You do need a reservation secured and it's done thru OpenTable. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and they point you where to go in order to head up to Firn. Their drinks are spendy...however, there are a few drinks that serves 2 ppl. So you split the total price of it. We tried the 'Get Schwifty' drink which has Japanese melon, honeydew, lime, mint and vodka -- quite refreshing and bright green! It is definitely popular, especially on a decent nice day!

The atmosphere was perfect on a summer day. Giving NYC rooftop vibes for sure! Loved the crab dip to pair with our aperitif, but I admit the Get Schwifty was wayyyy too sweet! I love a sweet drink but I definitely had to water mine down to drink it

Firn knew exacttllyyy what they were doing opening right before patio/rooftop season in Seattle. And Pioneer Square's first (and only) rooftop bar, no less! I visited the hotel because a friend of mine was in town and was staying at Populus and she insisted we check out Firn. After only being open for like four days, there was a HEFTY line and the place we packed. We got in quickly due to her having a reservation (yes, they take rezzies!) and we were able to order quickly from a sweet bartender. The place itself is gorgeous. Decorated beautiful and the atmosphere is fun and lively and SCREAMING summer. We started by sitting indoors at the bar and got to move to the rooftop space eventually and sunset is THE time to be out there. It's still warm, but the sun isn't blaring in your eyes, and you're getting a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline against the sunset. So gorgeous! You won't catch a lot of water views here, but how many skyrises do you really see in PI that are gonna boast water views..... Not many (if any?). So honestly, this view is STELLAR. I tried an assortment of cocktails and was wowed by them all. The Seatini was a fun and fruity option with a pretty stamped ice block. Loved the hibiscus flavor in it. I think my personal favorite though was the Seattle Freeze, a blended boozy coffee drink that's essentially a play on an espresso martini but boy is it strong. I had literally 2-3 passersby say "watch out, those sneak up on you," LOL and they do! They also have light bites here (very limited menu) but it all sounds delicious. I opted for the Dungeness Crab Dip and it was sooo good. Definitely recommend. Overall, Firn is one of theee summer spots to hit this season for rooftop drinks. You won't regret it!

Drinks ordered: - Green acres - Letters to the forest - Seasonal cobbler Overall, the drinks are overly sweet for my preference, in an artificial syrupy way. Wouldn't necessarily come back for the drinks, but it's a nice spot to hang out and chat. Food options are very limited. I had outdoor seating on a typical sunny Seattle evening, there's no shade at our table, so we were using menus to fan ourselves and cover our eyes. It's unfortunate because the view of the skyline was beautiful. Really enjoyed the neutral zen furniture and being surrounded by plants. Automatic 20% tip charge on the bill. Driving in this area is a NIGHTMARE, especially if there's a mariners game going on. I took the link and walked, which was a much smoother experience than my friends who'd drove and dealt with finding and paying for parking.

Firn has been on my list for a while, so I was glad to get a chance to check it out over the weekend. We booked a reservation over a week prior, but this really wasn't needed as the lounge was only about halfway full when we arrived. As we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted and seated quickly and given the choice between indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered a round of cocktails, one tequila based that was extremely tasty and two gin based that were overly sweet and had a bit of an artificial taste. Unfortunately we could not make it through the gin-based craft cocktails and had to order standard cocktails instead. We also ordered the crab dip which was a decent size for sharing and pretty tasty. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout our time there. Firn has a warm and cozy vibe indoors and is definitely cute for a date night. The rooftop unfortunately does not have fire pits or heaters but has a nice view of the space needle. I'd come back for drinks either before or after an event if I was trying to impress someone or wanted an excuse to get dressed up.

Beautiful location, beautiful cocktails, firn is a rooftop bar in an unexpected location in Pioneer Square. Located in the new Populus Hotel, a visit during a cool fall weekday was fantastic. The space is gorgeous with a decent sized bar and interior as well as the rooftop patio with great city views (loved both the day and night views). The menu has some creative cocktails, although I stuck with my usuals - a Manhattan and a Martinez served in nice glassware. They have shaved ice cocktails that seem a little pricey but then I saw the ice shaver which is all manual! Food menu is limited but the charcuterie board we ordered was quite good. The staff here was professional and on point, with a good balance of being friendly but also focused on delivering service to the everyone. Firn is a great addition to Pioneer Square, either solo or for a group.

Their Expresso Martini with Tequila is DELICIOUS. That, and an order of crab dip is a great way to start a night out, especially if you're making your way to the WAMU theater for a show.

Beautiful new rooftop bar in Pioneer Square with a stunning view of downtown. You can also see fireworks from T-Mobile Park if you're there during a Mariners Game! The service was really friendly, though a little slow, but I didn't mind since I was there to lounge around and hang with friends anyway. I ordered the Diamond Sea milk punch and Minute of the Hour. Both fabulous cocktails and not overwhelmingly sweet. It's very nice that they provide blankets if you're cold. It would be even nicer if they added a few heater lamps! The drinks are a little pricey ($20-24 before tax and tip) but it was worth it for the ambiance. I would definitely come back!

Came up for a light afternoon bite and a few drinks. Had an amazing espresso martini, and a Hugo spritz. The bites we had were super tasty and the service was quick and attentive. Loved the view from the rooftop and the decor of the restaurant. Perfect backdrop for photos!

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

When the city reopened in 2021, I was eating here almost every day; partly because of convenience, but mainly because the food and service never miss. I've hosted everything here: birthday celebrations, after-work hangs, and dinners with friends and colleagues. Every single time, it's a hit. People walk in, fall in love with the vibe, and walk out talking about the food. The consistency is unreal. They even order food to go. The flavors? Bold, intentional, and layered in a way that makes each dish feel crafted, not just cooked. The presentation is always stunning; plates that look as good as they taste. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they send out. Drinks are equally impressive. Their cocktails are balanced and creative, the kind that make you slow down just to appreciate the mixology behind them. And for anyone planning group outings: reservations here are a breeze. They're incredibly accommodating with large parties, and the service stays sharp even when the place is packed. Attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced; they know how to take care of people. Dead Line checks every box: atmosphere, flavor, presentation, service, and seamless hosting for big groups. It's easily one of the most reliable and enjoyable spots in downtown Seattle, and it's stayed that way for years.

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
