Love Fireworks! I recently stopped in here with some friends and sat at the bar. We went in an hour before closing and they didn't rush us at all. We ordered a margarita pizza and Caesar salad to split and it was delicious. We also said we wanted to do a shot (how fun of us, right?!) and the bartender was happy to create something for us. We had another drink after that while chatting with the bartenders. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. I actually had my rehearsal dinner here in 2016 and it was wonderful. Stopped in for a burger with a friend. Burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly. The star of the show, however, was our server, Savannah. She was truly excellent, and I say this as a retired chef of 28 years - with high standards. Here's the plot twist: great servers are hard to come by, but as it turns out, this was Savannah's FIRST TIME BEING A SERVER! I was very impressed and so was my friend, who himself worked as a cook for about 10 years. Way to go, Savannah! We were super happy with everything. Newbie servers aren't supposed to be that comfortable or skilled at doing that job. I found myself giving level 5 coaching to a level 1 server and I was happy about it. I'd hire this girl anywhere customer service is important, especially sales. We had a great time and I hope they stick you with great shifts at Fireworks. read more

Had my first dinner here a couple weeks ago. Thumbs up for the cheery staff and nice ambience! Sadly, the food left me completely underwhelmed. The Southern fried chicken was from a South I don't recognize. It was dry as a bone, apparently reheated, and the gravy tasted like bouillon instead of sausage. My iced tea wasn't refilled until we were nearly ready to leave, which I put down to them being busy, but I needed to wash down that chicken. read more

Solid place for a drink and a bite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, offering table service, bar seating, or large chesterfield couches and chairs. The drink menu is varied and interesting, with spins on popular cocktails as well as original creations. The wine list is also manageable but thoughtful, organized between cheap, food, great, and staff choice. The menu caters to all kinds of tastes (though I think someone has a fascination with black olives). I ordered the NY strip, and the kitchen accommodated my keto lifestyle by substituting the mashed potatoes for roasted Brussels sprouts. Everything tasted great. The steak was cooked perfectly (though the fat cap was tough), medium rare. It was a nice size cut too, leaving me leftovers for breakfast. Service was also very good. Matthew our server was attentive but not hovering, and other people periodically asked if we needed anything. The cost for 2 cocktails, a glass of wine, and a steak was under $50. Not bad. Next time we come to Keene, we'll consider this our backup if we don't find something new and interesting. read more

Sadly, this isn't the restaurant it once was. And it has nothing to do with COVID. Our hostess was very nice and sat us right away. Our waiter did his very best with what he had. The main problems were with the food quality coming out of the kitchen and what appeared general mid management. Our waiter advocated for us that my steak was the 4th of the night to be sent back. I normally enjoy this restaurant however the past few visits have been very disappointing so I can no longer recommend it. I went this evening with my family we waited two hours for our food and ended up having to take half of it to go because we had other plans. I ordered a salad with salmon which is not exactly appealing as a "to go" dish.... another person got salad with chicken on it which came out like a hockey puck. My son ordered a pizza and never ate a slice in the restaurant...Not a single word of apology from the manager they didn't even check in with our table or offer to comp it. Fireworks has some super unique food and cocktails. They have a hearth baked feta appetizer that is to die for. Their pizzas are amazing and cooked perfectly in their brick oven. Fireworks continues to be one of our favorite go to restaurants...we love their pizza...their mushroom and cheese is sooooooo good...but there's so much more to choose from. Gorgeous hamburgers, beautiful pastas, and such a lovely array of salads can usually please everyone in our party. A recent favorite was gnocchi with duck and squash...oh my goodness! My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary and had an amazing meal! We got the Hearth Baked Feta Cheese appetizer which was incredible to say the least and was really good sized portions for two people! I got the Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken and I'll just say I was very impressed! Don't let the price on it turn you away, it's worth every penny and I gave my compliments to the chef because it was so delicious. My girlfriend got the Fresh Cut Pappardelle and she was very satisfied as well! I tried a bite of hers and it was really yummy. The pasta wasn't sticking together and the sauce had a flavor that wanted me to keep going back for it, but I had to resist to save space for my meal. Don't order the chicken sliders. They seem to be made from the scrap parts of the chicken that weren't used for other dishes and they come out chewy and gristly. Gross! My sister's dog didn't even find it appetizing ... The rest of the food tends to be quite good, which should be expected since this place is on the expensive side. The service always seems to be a step behind though: host, server, bar, food; you always wish everything was about two minutes faster. read more

I ate at Fireworks restaurant yesterday as I was driving through Keene. It's amazing that a restaurant of this quality can be found in such a small city. Not sure what the negative reviews are about, but we had a great time. The food was awesome, the service was perfect and the place itself is really beautiful. We had the roasted Feta appetizer, Blue Moon pizza and pappardelle pasta with wild mushrooms, yum, I love me some wild mushrooms. W also got two fancy cocktails which were excellent. The prices were very reasonable. We are from NYC and we liked this place as much as any place we go to in the city. All in all, a great and unexpected experience. read more

Overpriced. I was told to seat myself at the bar (any place) and wasn't given a menu. I thought the food would make up for the service. Alas, it did not. It's yuppy but not quite up to par. The Moscow mule was bitter. I couldn't taste the ginger beer. The pappardelle was al dente but lacked flavor. I had to ask for Parmesan, which came in a pizza shaker (:0). The calamari was equAlly without flavor; my midnight Skittles tasted better. I used the salt shaker liberally, which should make any self respecting chef uncomfortable. The only saving grace was the stir fried broccoli rabe. Nice touch with the raisins. But the veggies could not save Fireworks. No Fireworks went off in my mouth, which one would expect it should, judging from the crowd. Perhaps I should have ordered the pizza from the brick oven. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in awhile. First off, the two hosts were extremely stuck up and staring us down. Granted, we are musicians who were playing the Keene music festival, but they should expect that. They were very rude. Our waitress was nice, though. That was the only redeeming quality. As far as the food goes, most of us had the pizza. Mediocre reactions at best. I love a good brick oven pizza, myself. This one was BY FAR the worst one I've ever had. Came here on a cold blustery night last month with some friends, and we found our new favorite place in Keene! I am so glad this place opened, it really brings a classy affordable place to eat to Main Street..usually our friends debate between Margaritas or Athen's Pizza. We started with drinks, and I was very pleased with their specialty cocktail list. It was very unique & nothing I'd find anywhere else. The dudes in our party stuck to beers, and the waitress was more than happy to let them sample 2-3 different ones before choosing (I always like that level of customer service). I ended up starting with the Pomegranate Gimlet (to die for and came in a very unique glass!) and then had the Arch Street Sparkler (limoncello, fresh mint, pomegranate liqueur, prosecco & sour cherries). Sometimes I feel like it's easy to be disappointed with specialty cocktails but I definitely felt like I got my moneys worth. Appetizer wise we had the Baked Feta Cheese which I was a little unsure about because it sounded like a LOT of Feta but my friend assured me it was tasty. She was right! We could not stop eating it, it was like nothing I've ever had before. We split two pizzas, the Beautiful South (a BBQ Chicken pizza turned up) & a Margherita Pizza with pepperoni. Both were good, and next time I want to try the Fig & Prosciutto or the Funghi. After all that we contemplated dessert but were just too full..we'll leave it for next time aka We will be back! *They have Gluten Free options, but alas no gluten free bread for dipping with the Baked Cheese Appetizer. *The bathroom is in a very strange place since this restaurant is attached to a hotel...you have to go outside the restaurant in the lobby...but it was very clean and nice so no bad news there. read more

When we visit Keene we usually try to stop into this place... each visit has been a good one. While it's a casual place (jeans ok, but maybe avoid the sneakers), the vibe is good and feels more trendy than casual. I am actually surprised with the serious mix of reviews from other Yelpers. The bar area is fairly small but has several bar stools and pub tables. We have never had trouble finding a spot. The dining room includes one long communal table plus several booths and low tables. Plus you can see into the kitchen, always a bonus in my book. The cocktail menu is fun and the wine list has some notable choices. We have tried several apps and entrees and all have been pretty good. The plate size is reasonable and the prices are reasonable. During our last visit, I tried the Butternut Squash pizza and that has been by far the best dish I have had here. The crust is thin and crunchy and the veggies on top were roasted to perfection. With its cool vibe, good food and fun cocktail menu this place wins in my book. Next time you're in Keene, stop in for a glass of bubbly and a pizza! read more

The mister and I had our first night out without the kids since, well, feels like forever. We wanted to do something grown-up and nice, without being too stiff, and Fireworks sounded like a good choice. SPOILER ALERT: it totally was! Good cocktails, a little on the pricey side but since it was our wedding anniversary, we didn't care. Generous gin martinis, and the mister's mixed drinks were well done. The waitress brought out a little foccacia too, which the mister really liked and I thought was okay, but not worth filling up on when I had big plans for the night. We started with the hearth baked feta and calamari. The calamari itself was a little blond, but the caper-etc-mayonnaise that came with it was absolutely stunning. I saved the rest of it for my frites. The feta was good, but the star of the dish was the tomatoes and onions and olives that surrounded it, yum! It came with flatbread, which was pretty good though the mister thought it had too much powdered garlic parmesan stuff on it. I had the steak frites, ordered medium rare, and while the thickest part was true, the thinner part was definitely medium and not as tasty. Very good frites, very good broccoli rabe. The mister had a pasta special with scallops. I am not a scallop fan, but these were cooked perfectly. The pasta, on the other hand, was a little under to the mister's taste, and the portion felt small (but with all the other food we were splurging on, it wasn't an issue for us). Dessert I ordered a local German altbier that I loved but can't remember the name of, and the espresso creme caramel. Very smooth, very tasty, but the coffee flavor actually made it taste like waffles, that toasty burnt note. I liked that, personally; I'm a big waffle fan despite reports to the contrary. The mister got the almond torte and pretty much HATED it. The cakey underpart was okay, but the blanched, slivered almonds on top were AWFUL. The ice cream served with it tasted like Haagen Dazs, nothing special. He was really disappointed and stole more than half of my dessert. We went relatively early, around sixish, and on a weeknight, and it wasn't too busy, but it still felt a bit too grown-up for kids despite the perfunctory kids' menu and stack of high chairs. Stopped in at Fireworks for a late lunch with my Mom and JT. I was a little bummed because after 2:30 PM they only serve their "bar menu" which features a smattering of apps, salads and pizza. That said...there was a fair number of yummy sounding pizzas to choose from so I went for it. I ended up ordering the Bianco - a white pizza featuring ricotta, mozz, garlic and pepper. It was pretty tasty and my Mom kept stealing my crust so I know they did that right as well! JT ended up getting the Meat Pie (chicken, sausage, pepperoni, and a multitude of other meaty products) and said that it was tasty as well. We also ordered the Sea Salt and Black Pepper calamari and it was a little bit too seasoned for our tastes...not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either! All in all, a positive enough experience that I'd be willing to come back and try the full menu on my next trip through Keene! read more

First time coming in on a spontaneous date night. The ambience is casual but nice and very comfortable. Reservations on a Friday night would've beem a good idea but even without them we did not wait the 30 minutes the host told us. The staff were all friendly, polite and pleasant. They seemed to work as a team which meant the meals were delivered piping hot and we had frequent checks from our server as each course was brought. Great service. We started with turnip fries (yes, turnips) that were sweet but were tossed in a horseradish, rosemary olive oil that really balanced them well. Also we had the wild mushroom risotto cakes. The risotto cales were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside and oh, so delicious. I could have made a meal of those alone. Next I had the cheese ravioli served with butternut squash. I am not a fan of ravioli as a rule but these were delicous! The cheese was very savory and not sweet, the pasta was either made there or made nearby. The squash replaced any sauce amd was sauteed with butter and brown sugar. My wife had the homemade noodles with wild mushrooms and homemade Italian sausage. She loved the light sauce and the balanced flavours. Dessert consisted of an espresso and the homemade New York style cheesecake with fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream. My wife had the tiramisu, which I had to sample. All very good. Drinks were fun. My wife had a berry and pomegranate infused drink made pomegranate vodka and proseco. My mother booked this restaurant for a large family dinner to celebrate a milestone anniversary for my grandparents. I grew up in Keene and come back regularly to visit family. Therefore, I have been to most restaurants in Keene over the years. Upon entering Fireworks I was immediately impressed. What used to be a dated, yet upscale restaurant in the bottom of the E.F. Lane hotel, is now an upscale and trendy bar and restaurant. The decor definitely makes a lasting impression. Especially finding this sort of restaurant in lil' ol' Keene, NH. The bar is the first thing you see when you come in the restaurant and it seats about 20 people. We sat 8 for a pre-dinner cocktail very comfortably. Beyond that was a nice lounge area with comfortable couches to sit, chat and drink. The bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgable on their signature cocktails. I tried a cocktail the bartender recommended, the Golden Goddess, and it was delicious. My husband had the Bacon Old fasshion, a bacon infused bourbon cocktail and was talking about it all night. Also a great selection of IPAs, red and white wines. When our entire party arrived we were graciously seated in the restaurant. For a large party including elderly people, our server - Chelsea, did a phenomenal job! She did not rush us, she was helpful (she even sat down with my 84-year-old grandfather so that he could hear her describe the menu and I thought that was the sweetest gesture) and came back frequently to check on us for drinks, etc. She had another server assist her and we never felt that we were waiting for them to get something for us. The manager was in the background with my mom helping organize the whole event and he even granted her wish to have a champagne toast. Our whole party felt that the staff went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. I could not be more complimentary of their service. Everyone was satisfied with their dishes of pasta and brick oven pizza. My husband had the Meat Pie brick oven pizza with BBQ sauce and was raving about it. I had the Margherita Pizza with chicken. It was alright, perhaps could've used something to make it a little more exciting but not bad at all. I had the NY cheesecake for dessert and fell in love. The cheesecake texture was whipped and creamy and it was topped with real whipped cream and fresh strawberries - delicious! You may be wondering why I only gave them 4 stars if I have nothing but positive things to say about them. I left off 1 star only because I felt that the menu could use a few more items. I felt a bit limited in my choices. I'm not saying they need 10 pages of uninspired dishes like a chain restaurant, but perhaps more options than just their signature brick oven pizzas. From the start the guy at the front podium was rude, second they didn't have 4 things we wanted to order, the fireworks Portugal was far from desirable- the muscles were dry and the pasta undercooked. This place is conveniently located in downtown Keene. Unfortunately the last three time I have gone with a group of 10-12 adults, the have majorly dropped the ball. Excessive wait times on drinks and food, wrong food, forgotten food, some items inedible because they were either overcooked or undercooked. We arrived happy and excited, then we leave angry and swearing we will never come back. Blame can be placed on both kitchen and servers. Manager seems indifferent. Not really interested in solving the problem but very willing to blame us for being too large a group or not remaining in our seats. The decor and lighting is nice. read more

I was expecting a Katy Perry themed restaurant. All I wanted was an "I Kissed a Girl"-tini, a brick oven Teenage Dream-izza and some nice service. I was disappointed. Instead, I found a ton of craft beers in bottles, a respectable draft beer selection, nicely made cocktails and some mighty fine pizza all while subtle techno music played in the background (yeah, we're talking about some Massive Attack). The pizza standout was certainly the Blue Moon Pizza. While having nothing to do with the beer, it was certainly covered in roasted butternut squash, pesto, chicken and gorgonzola. The fig and prosciutto pizza was as tasty as you'll find anywhere else. The balsamic was sassy and sweet, much like you'd expect from a Katy Perry themed restaurant. My advice? Ignore the name. Stopped in here after a business event in NH for a good dinner. Wow, it did not disappoint! We started with the Hearth Roasted Pear and the Risotto Cakes. Both amazing. Nice portion sizes and so flavorful with beautiful presentation. For our entrees I ordered the Bolognese. Amazing, creamy sauce packed with meat and flavor. Pasta was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil. While it was good, there was a very heavy hand with the bread crumbs. So much so, she had a small ant hill of them left over on the plate after finishing the pasta. Service was on point and cocktails were tasty and inventive. We will be back! read more

While I only stopped by to have a bite-to-eat while passing through town, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. This place has a trendy, but somewhat casual, atmosphere that would have been great if I was with a group of friends ready to knock back a couple of drinks. My chicken sandwich with avocado and chipotle mayo exceeded expectations. Normally I dislike most mayonnaise, but I'm a sucker for anything with the word "chipotle", and probably would have dipped a spoon straight into it had I not been in public. Food on other tables looked excellent as well, and if I had no social graces I would have reached my fork over onto strangers' plates. Huge, expansive drink menus feel overwhelming at times, but I refreshingly found an appropriately-sized menu with enough variety I think to satisfy most everyone. The wines are divided into categories, such as "cheap", "decent", "great", and "staffs' favorite", which I found clever. Essentially, I can see a place like Fireworks being just as successful in an urban market such as Boston. We ate outside, which was lovely. I am recently gluten free after a new diagnosis. The waitress was very understanding and helpful, and helped me pick out a dish. I got the vegetarian risotto, which was good, but I think I make better. My husband raved about his food!! He had an appetizer special bruschetta, and then a chicken sandwich with a yummy sauce. My daughters shared the calamari, which they loved and then each had the cheese pizza. We had ridden our bikes into Keene and stopped for dinner, so a very pleasant evening. Would love to do it again but it was expensive for a family of 4 with 1 cocktail, so it will have to be less frequent then we would like. read more

We started with the bruschetta...i dont know if my husband read the description of it wrong (or at all) but it def was not traditional bruschetta. I think it was made with chickpeas. I enjoyed it and would have even more if i knew what it was exactly. he did not. I ordered a pizza it was very bland. the crust had no flavor and blah toppings. ricotta jalepenos caramelized onions and garlic sounded good but it needed some acidity to it. prices are high i think the pizza was close to 15 bucks and it was about a 9inch pizza. we left and my husband suggested going to Eds Crossroads in Fitzwilliam on our way home and I would have but they were closed when we drove by. read more
