This tire shop is the best!! I have an RV with dually tires in the rear. Both Discount Tire Centers and Pep Boys just told me that they couldn't put air in my dually tire because they didn't have a dual chuck fitting, and sent me on my way. Firestone, on the other hand, was very helpful. Instead of just saying no, they told me to go to an auto parts store and buy a dual chuck fitting, which I did. When I came back to Firestone, they connected the dual chuck to their inflator hose and put air in all my tires. They even gave me the connector/fitting for the dual chuck so that it would plug into a tire inflator hose the next time I needed air. Firestone was very helpful, very friendly, and got the job done for me!! read more

I went here this morning to purchase a new battery, as mine is about to quit any day. The person over the counter was very condescending and short. After asking if they carried any other type of battery his response gave this customer the sense of "another dumb customer". After getting my info he did not explain to me what the battery would cost what the labor costs were, he asked for my keys put a sheet of paper in front of me asked me to sign without telling me what the costs were, I had to review it myself, normally I expect some kind of explanation before asked to sign. I didn't like that interaction and I feel that it could have been handled differently. I would rather let my battery die on the streets and call AAA for a tow than purchase from some one like that. read more

Decent repair shop and waiting area. Customer service is usually ok. Went here for routine maintenance, break & strut replacement. They did a good job on oil changes and maintenance. Felt pressured to buy a better quality strut than what was recommend by the manufacturer. After getting the struts replaced my car started making a weird noise when turning the wheel for the first time after starting up. Took it back twice and they couldn't find anything wrong. Weekends get pretty crazy but they do usually work pretty well to fix your issue. I have found a better place to go for car repair. read more

I went this morning because a flat tire and this is the only place that opens at 7:am after waiting like 45 minutes they came out and show me the tire and they told me that it cannot be fix because one of the nails came in in an angle so they cannot fix, they try to sell me a similar tire for $180, what it made me doubt is r that the nail was not on the tire wall so I decided to go down the street to American tires to get a seconds opinion and they told me that the tire was fully fixable, they fix the tire in 30 minutes and it was free, they don't charge to fix your tire, you have been warned no to go to Firestone unless you don't care to give your money away read more

Not sure why the ratings so far have not been good. My oil change this morning could not have gone smoother. They finished the job faster than I expected and they were super polite and pleasant. Great customer service. Not what you typically expect from places like this. Maybe there is a greater emphasis on customer service now given the poor prior reviews. I only came here because of the living social coupon I bought for multiple oil changes. I was waiting for lame service because I was using a coupon. But no. I haven't had any actual repair work done yet, but my husband and I are pleased with this store. We were tired of independent mechanics taking a really long time to assess and fix our cars and had heard good things about this place. I brought my car in for a $20 vehicle inspection. The oil changes here are reasonably priced at $31.99, so I threw one of those in too. They gave me a very detailed report of what I should get fixed and how much it will cost. It matched up with what we were thinking was wrong. I am really appreciative that they are open quite early. I was able to drop my car off and have a friend take me to work - I then stopped by on my lunch break to pick the car up, although the work was done much sooner than that. We will be bringing the car back to get the repairs done here. read more

This place ROCKS! I'm out for dinner last evening with family at the very fashionable and fun SMITTY'S in Pasadena and the valet comes in to inform me that there is a huge nail in my left rear tire. It's almost 6:30pm on a Friday evening. I call AAA, they come out and recommend I go to a nearby repair place to have the tire patched. I call FIRESTONE based on his recommendation and even though they were supposed to be closing at 7pm, THEY AGREED TO PATCH MY TIRE! They stayed later and they did not have to. For now, it is one star. We are giving Firestone a chance to fix the problem, but even so, it has caused us much inconvenience. My husband MUST have his car for work, and it recently developed a start-up problem. So, my husband arranged to take a vacation day on 4/30/13 and we dropped his car off at Firestone and my husband drove me to work in my car. Later that day, my husband picked me up from work (In my car) and we drove to Firestone so he could pick his car up. When both of us were home, my husband told me he had paid over $1200 for the car's repair. They had done numerous things and had tried to up-sell him on other services, which he declined. But, problem solved. Or so we thought. Fast forward to Saturday, 5/4/13. We get in the car and are ready to leave, and it won't start. My husband tries 4 times and finally, on the 4th try, it starts. I mention that I thought this was fixed! My husband then says he's had to do this all week. Well, then, they didn't fix the problem, I say. You need to call them and tell them that. Later that day, the car won't start at all. Sigh. It is now Sunday morning, and my husband has gotten the car to start, only to take it BACK to Firestone to have them fix it once and for all. Not so easy, though. Their 'diagnostic' guy isn't in on Sundays, so we have to wait for Monday. The rental car agency that Firestone contracts with is closed on Sundays, so no rental car for my husband until 7:30 AM tomorrow morning, one half hour AFTER my husband is usually at work.......in San Diego. At this point, I don't know if they have even apologized. IF Firestone makes this right, I will add another review. Right now, it's looking pretty dismal. read more

I'm completely frustrated with firestone I brought in my car for the this week because apparently a hose burst and they replaced. And it's still overheating and I had a heater hose burst because of the Heat and they were placed in a charge $130 for a $10 part and double the labor they have me wait 2 hours I was late to work and now my car is still overheating and I have to take it back this morning completely frustrated and I don't want to take my car here but they've already started work on it. Now instead of the mechanics and the desk clerk I'm not listening their names are Jose and Mike I feel like they're not even taking the time to actually listen to my concerns about my car and they're quick to charge overcharge me I don't trust this company and I really don't want to take my car here this morning but I have to Here's the survey paragraph that I've submitted with their company: My heater hose burst in Thursday & now I'm here again on Saturday morning dealing with this problem Mike is nice but doesn't explain what's going with my car. Jose has worked on my car numerous times and I'm convinced that he's an inexperienced mechanic who rushes and doesn't know his craft. Also on my Thursday visit they were chatting about schedules and weekend plans instead of working on my car if they were actually doing their jobs then I would have been over 2 hrs late to work. Also they claimed to have done a pressure check on my car but it was not logged in the invoice, on another occasion they invoiced me for a oil change without actually doing so and Jose was the mechanic who worked on it I don't want him to touch my vehicle again I'm here now on Saturday morning and I spoke to the manager George he explained to me what possibly could have happened he was courteous and patient in explaining what happened I'm not changing my review of what happened I'm just relieved that he's taking care of the problem for me. I'm only visiting when he's here I do not trust your other team members. I took my GMC Acadia to Firestone as I had been using them previously for my vehicles. Had a problem with the A/C not blowing cold. They stated it was the expansion valve, and replaced it. A week later it was not blowing cold again. They ran dye and nothing showed a leak. Recharged and left. Next week it wasn't cold again. Took it in again and they, after a lot of work, found the rear expansion valve was leaking. They replaced it and I now have cold air! Furthermore, these guys at this location do not rip you off! They do listen and do their best to resolve any problems your vehicle may have. Although I took the vehicle in three times (2 were appts, 1 a drop by), they wanted to do the right thing and therefore only charged me for one appointment! I came back about an hour and 15 minutes later only to be told that they hadn't even started on my car and that it would be another hour IF NOT MORE for an OIL CHANGE. I come here to get oil changes and alignments more than anything else. I got the life-time alignment deal. For around $200 I get unlimited alignments on my vehicle for the rest of its lifetime. This is a pretty good deal, but other than that, the place does not really stand out from other auto care centers. The service is good but my main issue is how long it takes. I understand they have a lot of customers, but I have made appointments before, been told to come back in X hours. I show up X hours later, and then they tell me they need 20 more minutes. The 20 more minutes end up being 40 more minutes. In short, I would be ok with the car repairs taking longer, but please try to give me an accurate time estimate so I don't spend close to an hour waiting for the repairs to be finished. I recommend just leaving your car there in the morning and picking it up towards the end of the day. That way you will guarantee that the service is done by the time you come back. Either that, or wait for them to call you. read more

TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!!!!!!!!!!! I joined yelp just to make this review because there is no other way to deal with this sort of problem. I had a tire that was leaking air. I was having to fill it up once a day so I took it to them to patch. They patched the tire then walked me out to my car and showed me a nail in a different tire and said that that tire needed to be patched as well. I had been keeping a close eye on my tires the week before and never found a nail or any air leaking from that second tire. Something didn't feel right about the situation. I told them I didn't have time to patch it at the moment. Low and behold, as soon as I left, that other tire went flat. I have no way of proving this, but I believe they placed the nail in my second tire. Ladies, please be on guard if you are heading to firestone in Pasadena. read more

I had what started off as a bad experience...then turned into a good one...my husband brought my car in for an oil change on Saturday...my husband said check the car from front to back, top to bottom...they gave us a couple of recommendations on things that needed to be fixed...we brought the car back on Wednesday due to the New Year holiday...they did the repairs we authorized...but also called to advise that we had a leak with our water pump...now hold up...why wasn't that noticed on Saturday and can this wait as this was an unexpected expense...we were told it could wait a little...well later that night we started having trouble with the temperature gauge...needless to say the water pump was on it's last leg...again I go back to why didn't this info get relayed on Saturday... Well today I can say that they resolved the issue...fixed the problem...and gave us a discount for the inconvenience...will we be back...UM...YES!...the manager, Jose, was very helpful and I would definately be back there again. read more

We were visiting LA in a rented minivan and began to have a severe vibration due to one of the tires having a separation. This is the kind of situation where it's easy to take advantage of a customer. However, the opposite happened at Firestone. Robert, the manager, treated us very well and did his best to get us back on the road quickly. He worked quickly through the red tape of getting the repair approved and paid for. The rental company wanted to charge us for the tire but he informed them that the tire failure was in no way my fault. I took my truck in for a oil change and vehicle check and was told I need brakes, motor mounts, fuel cleaning. Total $1150. I hesitated but said fine so I took the truck back next morning at 7am and was told it would be done same day by closing time. I called and they said it's a lot of work come by at 10am next day. I called at 9am and they said give us 45 min. I called at 12pm they said call back in 45 minutes. I called at 2pm not ready. I drove over there at 3 and my truck was sitting on the side of the building. I asked Javier why is my truck over on the side of the building he said it's not I said it is !! I just took a picture. I started recording and he changed his story and said oh they have other car their fixing give the tech a minute. I said a minute I have gave you guys 2 days of my time. Came in for a simple installation of 4 tires that I was quoted as being no more than 1.5 hours with an appointment prescheduled. Left 2 plus hours later let's just start there. From a customers stand point please don't quote us an "estimated" time if you can't at least keep within a reasonable margin. I get that things take longer sometimes than expected but when I see employees standing around and showing each other things on cell phones multiple times it makes a customer feel frustrated at the act of inconsiderate behavior. The customer service was courteous enough but at the same time very condescending, Javier must be an artist at his craft because he tried to show me a diagram of how my tires take longer to take off because I have a "lowered" car with low profile tires. I drive a car that's completely stock from factory, it's no where near "lowered". So from the time my car was in the mechanics bay it took an hour for my tires to even be taken OFF the car, from that point on they sat on the floor for a half hour with my original mechanic no where to be found. After he reappears from a back room he slinks around and finally gets back to the task at hand. Once at work more cell phone sharing in between dismounting my original tires and finally starting to mount my new tires. At this point I'm inside and and Javier pops back inside and tells me my tires should be close to being done, "he's just mounting the new tires now" 40 minutes later he's done with the mounting and I'm finally at the register being checked out. When I bring up the fact that this service took a lot longer than expected I'm told that when it comes to mechanical issues sometimes things take time. I'm trying to be reasonable about the fact that maybe it's a Sunday and people aren't in the best mood to be at work or hey maybe they're short handed, what do I know but the way my first interaction with this shop was handled was nothing short of disappointing. Long story longer, the work itself was fine albeit sloppy, my tires and rims have the lubricant they use to protect the tire and rim during the mounting all over all 4 of them, but hey the waiting room is newly remodeled I guess. read more

Meant to write this review yesterday -- anyway, I first went across the street to Pep Boys because my tire pressure light was on. I just wanted someone to help me fill my tires with air, and to remove the exclamation point signal that was turned on in my car. I don't know how to do that. The Pep Boys guy basically told me to read my car manual and it would show me how to do it. I was annoyed and left. The guy didn't seem like he wanted to help, so I went across the street to Firestone. The manager at Firestone was busy, but was friendly and didn't have a problem with my request. He told me to pull my car up to the second station where a mechanic kindly took care of my problem, free of charge. It wasn't a big deal to them and I really appreciate their service. Once I'm ready to get new tires, I'll be coming here. Customer Service goes a long way, and I'd rather give my service to businesses who make me feel welcomed and appreciated. read more

If you value your car do NOT go there. I drive over a large nail on the freeway and damaged a tire. As my car takes an odd size, i call them and pay over the phone.They call several days later saying the tire has arrived and I take the car in and am told it will take 45 minutes, so I kill time in the waiting room. After an hour I ask how it is going and am told they will get to it soon. After another 15 minutes I ask again and am given the same answer so when I step out for a walk I find my car across the parking lot with a new tire on it and no one even knew my car had been worked on. As I'm now late, I pay and quickly drive off. Besides the fact they left trash all over the passenger seat, the ride feels 'off'', which I think is due to the pressure in the tire not matching. the next day I have time to take it to a gas station to check the pressure and find THEY PUT THE WRONG TIRE ON MY CAR!!!!!!!!!! It was the right brand and style, but despite the correct model being written on the paperwork, they put a different one on the car. So the next weekend I go back to show them what happened and get the correct tire ordered, the guy behind the desk starts to make noise that as the tire is now used, I may have to pay for some of the milage on it. At this point I said he would have to explain the the credit card company why I should have to pay for the wrong tire and he then changed the subject.
