The bread was soggy due to all of the mayonnaise and soggy lettuce. They filled up my sandwich with ham which was a positive but it was only put at the front of the sandwich to make it seem full. There was supposed to be provolone cheese in it but I couldn't taste it. The other half of the sandwich was just too much mayonnaise, and lettuce with no meat and I just couldn't eat it. The food is usually decent but you have to pay attention because they will try to give you a small cup when you order the medium. The employees are not great. Of the last 5 times I've been here, they never are polite and always act annoyed to have to actually work. They will note my order but always mess it up somehow. I tend to give places and people multiple chances because everyone has an off day, but it doesn't seem to get any better. It's usually not busy, which is why I like grabbing food from here, but not sure how you can mess up orders when it's one sandwich and the place is empty. Wish the attitudes would go away. I do not get this place. To me it is a slightly upscale version of a typical sandwich shop. The premium you pay for the upscale nature is reasonable for what you get. Hot sandwiches, fountain drinks, chips, etc are all good. What I do not get is how much others rave about Firehouse. My boss, based in MN, loves the place so much she wants to open one. Other managers in my office talk about this being the best sub-shop chain. I do not know, perhaps these people are amazed that a shop that gives you a dollar of upscale quality only charges you an extra dollar. I was so disappointed when I saw firehouse is gone on kirkman. But it was just moved to a new location down the plaza, it is now near Kim Wu . Just happy I accidentally found it again. I love the New York steamer. Now there is 3 size for the sandwich so price range from 5-9. A large sub plus drink will set you back about $11ish. But I personally think they are the tastiest sub out there. Maybe it's because I used to be a paramedic and have a little bias. But their sub is damn good. read more

We used to have a Firehouse near my house that closed 2 years ago. We have really missed it. After eating here the last two days, while in Orlando, I remember what we have been missing. The manager Trell is running a well oiled machine because everything runs smoothly and efficiently. I'm vegan, so it isn't very easy to find a good sub place. This is a pretty standard Firehouse, although it is a very large store. The day we stopped by they even had a Dalmatian themed bounce house in the parking lot. I love the pork and slaw sandwich but it's only available in the summer. That's probably a good thing because the sandwich is so unhealthy! When it's not around I get either the hook and ladder, engineer or turkey cranberry. I love the hot subs and they are always very filling. Staff is fairly friendly (that company forced, "Welcome to Firehouse" as every person enters). Call ahead your order for faster service. read more
