I ended up coming here twice while spending days at Universal. Each experience was quite different. I would suggest coming earlier in the day vs towards the end of the day as the earlier experience and food was better. I ate their Cuban each time. One lacked pork, but generally the taste was good. The bread was a little soft compared to other Cuban sandwiches I have had, but for what it was, it was good enough. On one visit, I had French fries, and on the other, I had tots. I preferred the taste of the tots over the French fries. Ketchup is rationed out, as you need to ask someone behind the counter for ketchup. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich for my daughter, which she enjoyed. It was 3 pieces of bread and had lots of cheesy goodness, which makes for a delicious grilled cheese. They had a couple of swinging bench seats, which were unique and fun for the kids to sit on. This was a good option for a fairly quick meal. I would eat here again.
Oooohhhhweeee delicious!!! I loved the $15.99 Turkey Pastrami. They serve it hot and with exactly 8 tater tots. I got $1.60 off for being an annual passholder. Easily the 2nd best restraunt at City Walk after Vivo Italian Kitchen and half the price. I want to try the grilled cheese next time! They do crank the a/c in here!
I thought I was not going to like this, but the experience was quite refreshing. We were waiting for our movie to start and decided to stop in. Very nice and quiet from all of the other packed restaurants on the weekend. Everything tasted fresh and the tater tots were OK. Overall, I would come back and try different sandwiches. Not sure about other menu items. Customer service was attentive and helpful.
This was way better than I was expecting it to be! My friend & I wanted to grab a quick bite that would keep us full for the day at Universal ahead. I went with the pastrami-seasoned turkey sandwich. It was really unique and tasty. Also super filling! The employees were also super friendly and refilled our waters for us twice while we were there. If I had one of these sandwich shops around me, I'd definitely be a regular.
We were surprisingly blow away by the Bread Box! Little did we know when we stopped in before heading to Universal. We didn't want to pay for a mediocre food at the parks so we stopped at Bread Box and have been dreaming about the burrata sandwich since. We shared a grilled cheese sandwich and a burrata sandwich and our favorite was definitely the fresh burrata sandwich. We even tried to re-create it at home. It's so good. Definitely take a moment to stop here before heading into a park and paying for some crappy food spend your money wisely and pick the buratta sandwich.
We waited quite a long time in long and to get our food but the wait was worth it. We got the bruschetta and BB sandwich. It was really good and fresh. A downfall is is that we only get 5 tater tot's but they were fresh so that's a plus. The inside of the restaurant was cold and clean which is why we didn't complain too much since we were out in the theme parks all day . And had a lot of room for our full party to sit. We will definitely be back and hope the service is a little faster.

It's a little tucked away, which can be a good thing if you're trying to escape the crowds. The interior has an interesting retro diner vibe, and the place is well-lit and clean. The staff were super friendly and greeted us with smiles. Now, let's talk about the sandwiches - they were amazing! We got the classic BLT and the Grilled Four Cheese, and they were both delicious. The BLT was everything you'd want in a BLT--crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, and perfectly toasted bread. The Grilled Four Cheese, wow, was it cheesy! The sourdough bread was light and crispy, and the cheese was perfectly melted and gooey. Seriously, huge portions and packed with flavor - we both left very satisfied. The only downsides were the wait time (we waited about 15 minutes, which felt long considering there were only a couple of other groups ordering) and the typical Universal prices (be prepared to pay a premium). They have a good selection of Coca-Cola products in the fountain, as well as bottled water, juice, and PowerAde. They even have beer available if you're looking for an adult beverage. If you're willing to shell out a few extra bucks for a great sandwich and don't mind a potential wait, Bread Box is worth checking out.
We had lunch at the Breadbox when we took a break from Universal Studios. The sandwich choices were great! We had the bbq brisket sandwich and the Sichuan Chicken sandwich and topped it off with a root beer float and a huge S'mores cookie. The service was great and very helpful. The ambiance had the feel of a 50s style diner and was refreshing. Highly recommend!
I have no choice but to give five stars because this was actually one of the best BLT's of my lifeee. Needed a quick bite before HHN so we stopped in here. Super low crowd levels so we ordered quickly and got our food in less than ten minutes. The BLT Is incredible. The bread is sourdough I believe and has such nice flavor. The bacon is delicious and perfectly cooked with just a little chew, a good amount of lettuce and tomatoes, and I don't know what they put in their mayo but it has so much personality! Great seasoning, and it was so juicy and altogether just an amazing sandwich. Also I love the chips! They have a fun little spicy seasoning on them and you get a good portion with your sandwich. I've already come a second time since my first time a few weeks ago. The BLT was just as good, so points for consistency!
A solid food option to keep you fueled for a day at the park. The food came out quick, was tasty, it's clean inside, and they bus the table for you. What more can you ask for.
Excellent BLT! On a recent trip to Universal Orlando, we decided to try a place we haven't gone to before within City Walk. Breadbox is located on the second floor of City Walk and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the BLT on gluten free bread with Sichuan Ranch chips. The gluten free options were limited since most sandwiches are grilled on a shared cooktop. The bacon was abundant, the L and T were perfectly portioned and had just the right amount of mayo. The bread is nothing to write home about but held together well for being gf. The chips were crunchy, and the flavor was a nice compliment compared to being a plain potato chip. My husband had the turkey pastrami on regular bread and said it was also very good, that it just needed a little extra dijonnaise it was perfect. We honestly could have split a sandwich, the portions were big. The service was quick and friendly, plus knowledgeable about gluten. The restaurant was clean. We will return!
Breadbox serves freshly hand made sandwich. The menu rotated since last year when I visited. The service is always really nice. You can either mobile order with the universal apps and then scan the table you sit on or order at the cashier and receive a number that you place on your table. You can also take to go. The place ressemble a small diner from the 70s with old school music playing. The music isn't blasting which is nice, it's really just there in the background. Enough to hear and enjoy it without preventing conversation. As for the wood. I tried the bbq chopped cheese. It's a sandwich made from ground meat, lettuce, fried oignon, tomato and a special.sauce served with sichuan chips. It was good! I tried the s'mores cookie. That was a big cookie, about a inch thick. Perfectly cookie, little crunchy on the outside but very soft inside. It was very delicious. My girlfriend tried de sishuan chicken sandwich. She was afraid it might be spicy, it is not which is very good. She said there's a little tingle in the throat but nothing else. For a good fast meal, it's a good place
I usually don't start the reviews talking about the service but honestly the service here was absolutely outstanding, I loved it every person I came across here was super nice. I actually had to stay for a bit longer than I was expecting . I got a BLT with added chicken because honestly I wouldn't get it with just the bacon but it was more expensive like $7 more , the ambiance is nice , I would go there again , the bathrooms were also very clean .
Excellent sandwich and tater tots. Search Google for a quick cheap eats in citywide. This place pops up. It was so good we came back the next day for lunch. Hard to find. It is located on 2nd floor. I guess all the cheap eats are on the 2nd floor. We ordered cheesesteak the first night to share. We came back and order BLT, and breakfast sandwich the next day for lunch. I like the cheesesteak the most. read more

Walking through CityWalk it's safe to say I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality and. Bread Box was a pleasant surprise although the prices were to be expected. Upon walking in, it's got a very chill vibe, part diner, part bar with some interesting decor. The person at the counter was super friendly even hit me with a "Go Birds!" followed by a brief chat about Eagles football. There was a bit of a wait after ordering the food, but I was in no rush. As for the food, I got the turkey pastrami sandwich and it really hit the spot after a long day at Islands of Adventure! And the tots...oh boy the tots were a nice touch as well. read more
Stumbled upon this place as we wanted something quick and easy. Had to climb a few stack of stairs to get here as it is at the top of the plaza. Staff were super helpful and friendly on the menu. Food came with fries or tots and they were super crispy and fresh. I ordered the Philly and overall I thought it was decent but not the best I've had. Staff gave us ranch and ketchup on the side so that was great. There were tons of tables to sit at including high tops. read more

These folks are super slow Once the food was prepared and delivered to our table (after my wife went to ask what was taking so long) it was pretty tasty. We I'll be back when visiting Universal at some point but not too soon. read more
The food was Amazing, the staff was very friendly & the place was really cute love the old school vibe. We had the bruchetta & the four cheese grilled sandwich. So delicious, crunchy & savory. We came here after spending the day in the theme parks. The location is definitely very convenient! We took advantage of the mobile ordering which helped to cut down our overall wait time. The food was overall decent and a fair price for what you get. There were a lot of different options, but we all got versions of a grilled cheese with tots! So after a long two hours of walking around at Universal Zack and I decided to dine at a new place. This cute little café is called the bread box; they have soup, salad, and sandwiches galore! The sandwiches are ranged from $11-$13 per sandwich; they also have drinks that are refillable. What I like about this location is if you have a universal refillable cup they also let you refill at the restaurant. Inside of the restaurant is very brightly colored but also very modern. They have a little boots in the middle that are on swinging chairs. They have a couple beers and a couple chairs by the bar. They have these really cool lights up above the bar that are different types of bread. This evening I ordered at the shop and Zach got the patty melt with fries! If you have an allergy you just tell the person taking the order and they write it on a little piece of paper and hand it directly to the kitchen. read more
After leaving Universal Studios park wanted a cool place to sit down for a quick bite to eat. This is tucked back and up a bit from ground level and fit the need! My Reuben was tasty and free refills of my lemonade were given. I have no complaints about the friendly and fast service. read more

I absolutely loved the neat retro style look of this place. We came here after a long day at the parks to get something quick to eat before a drive home. My only issue and why it didn't get 5 stars is it took a bit longer than expected for our two sandwiches. That being said the sandwiches were absolutely delicious. I really loved that they had gluten free sandwich options that were actually really good and I didn't feel like I paid an arm and a leg for it. We will definitely make this a place we visit when we come back for another visit to the parks. read more
Bread Box has earned a spot on our must visit list while at Universal. Eating while at the parks is a delicate balance of having enough on your stomach to not feel queasy on the rides but not so much that you don't feel like riding anything at all. Splitting a sandwich at Bread Box is a great option for this reason. The sandwiches are large enough to share without being too heavy of a meal. And when splitting, it's a lot more budget friendly as well. The Nashville Hot and Hot Turkey sandwiches with a side of tater tots are our current favorites. I don't know where Universal properties source their tater tots but I would love to find some like these when back home! If you've ever had them, you will understand. They're so much better than traditional tots found elsewhere. We have also had the brisket sandwich on many previous visits and enjoyed it as well. The bread is always fresh and toasted perfectly. And they pile on the toppings. This place is obviously most busy around lunch so trying to go a little earlier or later can help avoid longer wait times. They also offer mobile ordering that you can order ahead and have delivered to your table. Unfortunately on our most recent visit, we noticed many of the menu items were not listed on there so we were not able to take advantage of this option this trip. read more
First off, ordering ahead is 10X easier, so if you can, I recommend doing it! I got the Hot Vegan Sandwich and it was superb! Avocado, spinach, mushroom, and tomatoes with a tangy pesto and melty vegan cheese. Yum! When you order it is just the sandwich, so if you want any side, you have to order that separate. read more

My family and I were getting ready to leave Universals Islands of Adventure and decided to order and pick up some sandwiches. My husband used the app and put in our order in advance so that it would be ready when we reached the restaurant on our way out. This worked out perfectly. By the time we got to the restaurant our order was ready to go. There's seating inside and outside of the restaurant. I ordered the Grilled Ham and Swiss Melt which comes with shaved ham, cheddar, fontina, fresh mozzarella, peach jam, brioche. I got the melt without the peach jam and added some strawberry jam on it before I ate it. It was a really good melt. The buttery bread with the ham and cheese was delicious. I had a side of French fries that you could actually taste the potato. I don't think they had any salt on them and because of that they tasted natural. Yummy sandwich and fries. read more

Bread Box is located kind of in the land of misfit and forgotten toys of Universal Citywalk. Haha. If you see a wide set of stairs, tiers going up with strung lights, you're headed the right away. It's tucked up in the corner just before the food court with Moe's, Burger King and company, and in the same courtyard as the Hart and Huntington Tattoo shop, a fro-yo place, and certainly most memorable, behind Voodoo donuts. Well, bread box serves none other than... sandwiches! Made with bread! Amazing, right? They do have a good variety of flavors considering their main entree is the sandwich, however. There's also multiple kinds of bread to choose from. I got a ham and cheese with a peach jam inside. Surprised as I was, it was pretty darn good. The sweet of the peach jam actually offset the savory ham and cheese really really well. It's not a combo I would ever have thought of, but I may have to now! The store itself I absolutely loved. It was decorated in a clever way for a placed named the Bread Box, and we even sat at swinging chairs for our table. My good conscience couldn't quite give this 5 stars because of how weird (in a bad way) our service was. The cashier woman was clearly new at the job and was struggling, which is easily forgivable. That changes, however, when you are rude about your inability to adjust on the fly. Not cool, man. But yeah if you're looking for a fairly simple meal close to the Universal Parks but not inside, consult your map for BreadBox! read more
