It was a quick easy stop while I was on my way home from the Winter Garden area this weekend. They specialize in fresh baked Tigelle sandwiches which is an Italian flatbread. As someone who is watching my carb intake, I really like this thin, light bread. So far, I've tried the Bella Vita and the Picante (spicy) sandwiches. Both are amazing! They use super fresh Italian ingredients like soppressata, mozzarella, mortadella, prosciutto di parma, burrata, and pesto. The to-go packaging for their sandwiches is also on point. They have the cutest little yellow boxes and it's like unboxing a present. One of my absolute favorite things on the menu is their pistachio tiramisu dessert. This is such a great place, but can be a little hard to find so know that you can get into the plaza and have to park to walk around to the front of the building to get to the location. This place is my new comfort food. It's a small restaurant, but they certainly make the most of the place with simple decorations. It always smells of baking bread which is lovely. Northern Italian Sandwich shop tucked back in a new center just off of Colonial Drive. The meats and cheeses are top notch and I believe most (if not all) are imported. The bread they are on is tigelle which is a northern Italy staple. The place is smaller but clean with some nice decorations. The staff was REALLY busy but also friendly and were sure to greet everyone and let them know they would be with them as soon as they could. I had the Bella Vita with mortadella, stracciatella and cream that just melted in your mouth. The sandwiches are on the smaller side but I wanted to try the cannoli and Tiramisu. While the deserts were good but, I thought $6.80 for a single cannolo was a bit high and the $10.00 Tiramisu was not as large as I expected it to be. I first heard of Ispirazione when it popped up for a Yelp Elite event, but I was too late to RSVP. I ended up in the area after a dentist appointment and knew I had to stop by. A word of caution, the parking situation leaves much to be desired. I was there at noon on a Tuesday and had to park behind the Rusteak building and hoof it a bit. Not a problem for me, but just to be aware of if you aren't down for a stroll or if you have a bigger group of people it would be wise to carpool. The restaurant is fairly small but a decent amount of seating with two small bistro tables out front. The employees were very polite and offered help if I had any questions. I reviewed the menu and settled on the Divino. Prosciutto, pesto, pecorino cream and balsamic glaze. I sat outside as it was a beautiful day and it was very clean and peaceful. The sandwich was outstanding! All the flavors sang in harmony and it was exactly what I was craving, savory and salty and a little touch of sweetness.
