FOOD: I got a turkey sub and it was ginormous! The "fixings" were fresh and the lettuce was so very green. It was full leafs of lettuce like romaine or maybe green leaf lettuce. The bread was thick and fresh. The quality was great. It was tightly wrapped to perfection. SERVICE: Family oriented. Friendly. Welcoming. I had to wait a little bit for by sub but the gentleman that was making it kept acknowledging me and letting me know he was working on it. I have been dying to try a little piece of home & I'm so glad I finally gave in. There aren't many places where you can get a chopped cheese or a baconeggandcheese but this is definitely the spot. Rays looks like any other strip mall privately owned convenience store. But the sandwiches they make are awesome! They pretty much have all the necessities of a 7-11 but the food is what was a surprise. Its near Cornerstone Charter Academy and the students have high praise for this little store. The sandwich is big enough that we cut it into quarters. The bread was fresh and the lunch meat had nice flavors. While it may cost more than a franchise sun location, it is worth it. My wife and on Sunday 2/16/25 was looking for some good eats and decided to look for a deli that was open that day! I found Ray's Deli & More while doing a google search and decided to give it a try. We drove down to the deli and ordered a chicken Philly cheesesteak and it was AWESOME!!! But was even better was the service and the love that emanated from the cook and his obvious passion for cooking and the owners who were welcoming and just a pleasure to meet. I drive by this place on my way to work and was always curious about the food at this place. When you see the word "Deli" on the sign outside makes you think....."should I stop and check this Deli out"? I decided to listen to the voices in my head and man, I'm glad I did. Good, good stuff. They don't use cheap deli meats here. It is a Boars Head shop. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham and bacon. It was delicious. It had the right amount of meats, eggs and cheese. The bun was good quality as well. I no longer will make the regular stops at the big gas station for one of their cheap breakfast sandwiches for as long as this Deli is open. They also have salads, deserts and a few lunch options. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients they use. It is located inside a convenience store in Edgewood, but don't let that scare you. Everyone in the shop was great and friendly. Oh! And you get a free cup of coffee with your sub! If you're from New York, like I'm from New York then this place looks and feels just like you're in the north! From the outside, looks like a regular convenient store. The inside is basic.. snacks, beers and tobacco/accessories. Then a fantastic deli counter appears! So many subs to choose from! They also have a hot case with freshly made food. Jerry and Kevin were running the show, unfortunately the grill broke and there were no hot subs available. Normally this would be a bummer, but Jerry and Kevin were so upbeat, positive! It was hard to be mad. I know I'll be back and try their hot subs. For now, I ordered a pastrami and provolone which was pressed. It was really good!!!!! I also got the pasta salad, which came loaded with olives (be still my heart baby). I did hear the lady in front of me raving about the lasagna. Well that sounds amazing too. I will be back. In town for one night. Drove all the way over here because of the reviews. Yelp page says they're open till 10pm - it's 8:45pm. Lights on, door is open, I open it and some dude with an obvious attitude is vacuuming. He doesn't say a word to me, we make eye contact, I say "Hi, are you still making sandwiches"? Ray's Deli is still among my top places to grab a sub. On our most recent visit, my boyfriend tried a pastrami sub and I did a build your own sub with turkey, capicola, and mozzarella (sounds like an odd combo, but trust me it's delicious!) Ray's always has a nice selection of deli meats and cheeses so you can definitely customize your favorite sub. The meat and cheese is always high quality. The fresh mozzarella on my sandwich really brought it to the next level. The subs are still huge and a foot long comes with a bag of chips and a can of soda. I also enjoy their other offerings which can vary depending on the day and time. I enjoy their rice and they also have an Alfredo pasta sometimes that's really yummy. The people working there are always friendly when we come in to place an order. If you haven't tried Ray's yet, you should definitely check them out! read more
