Went to Ray's again after taking a little detour, and they did not disappoint. The food was just as good as I remembered from my first visit, but this time I decided to try one of their breakfast sandwiches. I originally ordered sausage, egg, and cheese, but then I saw the bacon, egg, and cheese and asked whether I could switch it. The gentleman behind the counter said they could do both, then asked whether I wanted to add a hash brown too. Obviously, I said yes. He told me they would make basically anything I wanted as long as they had the ingredients, and I absolutely loved that energy. The sandwich was huge, super cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with sausage, bacon, egg, and a crispy hash brown. It was a very generous portion and completely worth the price. This is definitely going into my breakfast-sandwich rotation. My fiancé ordered the Godfather, which was also delicious. It is definitely on the messier side, though, so if you are getting it to go or traveling any distance, I would recommend asking for the vinaigrette on the side. Ray's has strong neighborhood bodega vibes, generous portions, and the kind of menu where they are willing to customize your order instead of making things complicated. My only minor critique is that one employee could have been a little friendlier, but everyone else made the experience enjoyable. Another great visit, and we will absolutely be back. read more

My girlfriend described this location as the closest Orlando will get to a bodega and they couldn't be more right. We both the steak, egg and cheese on a roll and they were made fresh. The service was quick, we waited about 8-10 minutes for our order. The egg was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. We both loved the cheese and the way it still dripped into the sandwich. The food is amazing and the staff is even better. Yesterday I called an order in, and when I got there to pick it up I got an emergency call about my grandmother not feeling well. Ray could tell I was rushing and something wasn't right. He carried all of my drinks and bags of ice to my car and they prepared the sandwiches as quickly as they could. I ran out of there forgetting one of the subs. Ray called me and told me to turn around and when I did he met me in the parking lot with the sub! Rays looks like any other strip mall privately owned convenience store. But the sandwiches they make are awesome! They pretty much have all the necessities of a 7-11 but the food is what was a surprise. Its near Cornerstone Charter Academy and the students have high praise for this little store. Stopped in to check out the place as we were in the area and ended up buying a large Maple Roasted Turkey sub, $11.58. They do not skimp on the meat or toppings. The sandwich is big enough that we cut it into quarters. The bread was fresh and the lunch meat had nice flavors. While it may cost more than a franchise sun location, it is worth it. If you're from New York, like I'm from New York then this place looks and feels just like you're in the north! From the outside, looks like a regular convenient store. The inside is basic.. snacks, beers and tobacco/accessories. Then a fantastic deli counter appears! So many subs to choose from! They also have a hot case with freshly made food. Jerry and Kevin were running the show, unfortunately the grill broke and there were no hot subs available. Normally this would be a bummer, but Jerry and Kevin were so upbeat, positive! It was hard to be mad. I know I'll be back and try their hot subs. For now, I ordered a pastrami and provolone which was pressed. It was really good!!!!! I drive by this place on my way to work and was always curious about the food at this place. When you see the word "Deli" on the sign outside makes you think....."should I stop and check this Deli out"? I decided to listen to the voices in my head and man, I'm glad I did. Good, good stuff. They don't use cheap deli meats here. It is a Boars Head shop. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham and bacon. It was delicious. It had the right amount of meats, eggs and cheese. The bun was good quality as well. I no longer will make the regular stops at the big gas station for one of their cheap breakfast sandwiches for as long as this Deli is open. They also have salads, deserts and a few lunch options. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients they use. It is located inside a convenience store in Edgewood, but don't let that scare you. Everyone in the shop was great and friendly. Oh! And you get a free cup of coffee with your sub!
