    Wellington Cheese Burger
    Roger Renzo R.

I read many reviews recommending this place, so I needed to give it a try. The service took a bit longer, and finding a seat was difficult, but it was a busy day in the park. The outside seats were fine, but it seemed that nobody was cleaning for a long time because the tables were dirty. The wellington cheese burger tasted ok. Unfortunately, the meat was overcooked, tasted dry, but the vegetables tasted fresh. The fries were fine but a bit cold. I hope for my next visit I get better luck.

I'm giving this place 4 stars. The only reason why it's not 5 is because there's no mobile order and there's no indoor seating area. When it's 100 outside, a nice ac while eating is good. As for the food itself, it's about the best burger in all quick service around universal parks. It's not the best burger in the world, but it's good. Way better than next door comic strip cafe or even the burger digs. It comes with curly fries which are also good and the best, it's cheaper than the burger and fries combo at other locations but about 3 to $4. I took the burger with the include sauce. There's other offering at this place but I haven't tried them. If you want a burger, I highly suggest trying this place in the park.

It's not often you find a good, quick service burger these days. Well, here it is guys! We have passes to UO and honestly, never been to this section before, we aren't big water ride fans. However we learned of the little play area for kids and decided to check it out and came across this location. The only downfalls is that there is no mobile ordering and because it's by the water rides, all the tables are taken up by people trying to dry their clothes off. Took us 20 minutes to get a table and then had to hunt down a worker to clean the table off. Considering it's quick service and we know they usually have open seating or no seating I decided not to let this affect the rating, but just be aware. The service was ok, not a long interaction but nothing spectacular either. The burger was great by any standards but as a theme park quick service, it was amazing! Our kids also loved the chicken fingers. We were very happy with this location and look forward to coming back for more!

For carnival food this was really good! Burger slightly over cooked, but still tasty. The dole swirl was also great! Overall pretty good fast food!

I really like the cheeseburger at Wimpy's they put out a delicious burger for a theme park stand. The cooks do a great job. I wish the counter people would be more consistent. It's frustrating to watch them putting together inconsistent portions of fries, serving food out of order received and letting food die while they fumble around. Still a solid choice for a burger.

Pretty dry and overcooked, guess I should have tempered my expectations given that this is inside a theme park, despite the oddly stellar reviews stating the opposite. $18 burger and fries that can easily be split with someone since it's a large enough portion at least but the meat isn't well distributed so one of us got more than the other after cutting it.

Solid theme park burger and fries, good sauce and seasoned patty. Bun could have been more fresh though

After hearing about this place for years, and it often not being opened, we finally got to try the iconic Wellington burger! So worth the wait! This is a top notch burger experience. The meat is so well seasoned and the bun is soft and fluffy. The fries are amazing, well seasoned. Terrific. The portion size is quite big, we divided it into four and each had a really large portion. If you are not a big eater, or plan on eating around the park, get one to share, it is big enough. True it was pricey but most things are nowadays even outside a theme park. I like that they also offer a vegan option here. I have had their vegan food and burgers, and really enjoy them, so order it here is you do not eat beef. But if you do, this is definitely a must order item at least once in your Universal food adventures. You will not regret it if you enjoy a good burger.

Nice graphic representative of a old fashioned Popeye standard!

The real burgers are very good! For a quick grab-and-go choice, the burgers actually rival what you'd get at Universal CityWalk! It big on variety but certainly big on taste!

(Dined 03/05/20 TH @ 3:00pm): Surprisingly... these burgers weren't wimpy at all! On the grounds of Universal Studios Resort Orlando (Islands Of Adventure Theme Park to be exact), my friend and I decided to grab a bite as we attempted to dry off after we got off the soaking "Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges" ride. I loved the Wimpy character in the Popeye cartoons ("I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today!"), and the fact that they had a lone vegan option (I no longer ate beef while my friend recently became vegetarian/vegan) seemed like a win-win situation for us. Would this healthy meal warm us up while it filled out tummies!? PURCHASE Diet Coke Large ($3.99): I unwillingly bought this for my friend it didn't deserve a picture - ugh! Vegan Supreme Cheeseburger Platter w/Curly Seasoned Fries ($13.99 x2): Plant-based burger patty with slices of vegan cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, red onions, and generous layers of veganaise, this was one two-handed sloppy meatless mess that I enjoyed very much https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=003IUte3pMPlgF_LAVVSsg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! It was filling, hearty, and all ingredients were fresh. The meatless patty was close to meat in both taste and texture and didn't have that dry graininess I've experienced in similar products. As or the fries, they had a nice cayenne seasoning, crispy outside and moist warm inside bravo all around https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BxfHyRo9khVqrT_YsJrCNQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! SERVICE Greeted by a happy young man who was ready to take our order since we were the only customers at the time, we were ready since the menu was so sparse. Although my friend got her soda quickly enough, it took about fifteen minutes before our meals were ready when we got the shout-out from the same employee (they must've gone out to kill for these burgers!). With a gracious "thank you" and "have a good day" salutation, we were off to grub away - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) General parking for the massive theme park started from $25.00, but my friend and I took a Lyft ride in and skirted parking altogether. Also, I believed if you stayed at any of the resorts in the area, shutter services were available. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located in the "Toon Lagoon" part of the park, this faux wooden cabin motif was quaintly painted in pastels with two separate order and pick-up windows, a switchback easement crowd-control line, and several equally-similar decorated dining tables. Everyone who passed by made sure to snap a photo of the humorous stack of burgers on a platter https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=EuFzVbOdvV3qeF9swfIUcw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. There was plenty of natural lighting (duh... you were outside!) while tall electric light poles filled in the rest. There were no TVs while the sounds of conversations and roaring rides filled the air. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=WzSJBeD4z5uwHK9YPmTEvg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL If you visited Universal Studios Resort Orlando (specifically the Islands Of Adventure park portion) and were either a Popeye The Sailor Man or vegan food fan, then you had to check out Wimpy's if not for funny photo ops but a very good burger regardless of meat or not. Unfortunately, the menu was extremely limited (e.g. cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, salad, snacks, sodas, beers) and comparable if not slightly more than standard theme park prices. Sure, this was 100% a marketing tool (my career has been in marketing for over 25 years!) and jokingly felt spinach should've been somewhere on the menu for this world-famous character. I found very good value (the vegan option pushed up the rating) based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $34.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Looking around after the game, a smash burger sounded like just the thing we needed. Ambiance was nice. Good, chill vibes, a random door to a random next-door bar. Plenty of viable seating for my party of six. Service was pretty ok. The front counter worker was nice enough, but the food took forever to come out. Much longer than I would expect for the products we ordered. The food itself was dynamite. I got the Papi Big Mak (Two Florida-raised beef patties, smashed onions, lettuce, American cheese, sweet-heat pickles, tostone "Middle Bun" , Papi Mak sauce, Sesame Martin Potato Roll). This was a fun thing. The patties had a good crisp to them. The totstone did not, though, so it got a little lost in the bite and chew. Needed more sauce. And that sesame seed bun really helped out a lot, too. A little extra texture in every bite. I was a fan. I also got the chance to try the Umami Papi (Two Florida-raised beef patties, crispy bacon, white cheese, sweet-heat pickles, crispy onion, raspberry jam, Uuuumami truffle sauce, sesame buns). This one was a better topping combination. The pickles had a nice pop of acid, the raspberry jam really stood out, adding a nice sweetness, and the truffle sauce, never thought I needed it on a burger. I did. Standout burger. I also got the Papis Loco Fries. I forget exactly what these fries were topped with, but the cheese, just look at it. Congealed just perfectly. A good side item, for sure. Overall, this greasy meal is out there doing the good work for the people. Maybe this was a four star meal overall, but I'm not sitting, that Umami Papi was a standout for me, and the reason I now give five stars.

Nice, crispy edges on the patties, and I loved how many sesame seeds were on the buns. Great flavor. Cons: The only thing was that they waited for our whole party's order to be ready before calling names, instead of just serving them as they came. This lead to cold burgers. Tips: Make sure you arrive early! If you wait too long, they switch to a smaller, less interesting menu.

They offer beef, chicken, Impossible, and veggie patties, along with a wide variety of cheeses and buns to choose from. My Impossible Burger was tasty, but I'm not sure it quite justified the price. On our first visit, I got a very impressive looking shake loaded with toppings, unfortunately it wasn't on the menu this time around. It's not my top pick for burgers, but it's definitely not a bad option either.

To my surprise, I was disappointed by the food. I got the loaded frings and a 5 x 5 burger. I believe the burger is relatively new, since it wasn't on any of the pictures of their menu on Google. Ambiance: The staff was friendly enough and I do like the fact that you can see them cooking the burgers in front of you. However, looking around at the restaurant, it looks like there was no upkeep. There were broken tiles, tables weren't cleaned, and I believe there might have been mold when I was filling my water cup at the ice machine, like visibly on the spout. Food: Loaded frings- I'm not sure how you mess this one up, but they somehow did it. The fries were overcooked and the bacon was fried to hell. I think you can actually see how burnt the bacon was in the pictures. It tasted like charcoal. Lastly, the fries were completely soaked in cheese sauce, which I'm guessing was from a can. It tasted like the cheese you'd have at state fairs, except more watery. There was more sauce than fries and onion rings! I should have taken a picture after eating half of the fries. I could not eat the bottom half of the frings because it was all soggy Burger- the same cooked-to-hell bacon was used on the burger. Not much else need to say about that. Looking at the picture of the burger, you'd think that the patties were way overcooked as well. That was not entirely the case. The patties weren't extra dry, but they weren't as juicy as I would have liked a burger to be. I'd say it was just okay. Maybe a half step below average. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't able to. I'm not sure if I came by on an odd day, because the reviews say otherwise. I really hope management can fix these issues.

Now this review has nothing to do with that my father's name was Freddy and that my mother's favorite treat was frozen custard. But those little tidbits of information don't hurt. The warm feeling that I get when I eat frozen custard reminiscent of enjoying it on the boardwalk with my mom is renewed at Freddy's not because of the ambience of the restaurant, but because of that same delicious taste that my mind still seems to remember from long ago that I have not found anywhere else before this. But I digress. Freddy's may look like your typical fast food restaurant, but it is anything but. I already loved it for the burgers, the french fries with their wonderful sauce, and of course, the custard but now they have a salad as well. Really fresh greens with my favorite burger on top as a garnish. Low-carb great taste and totally filling. But not so filling as to not leave room for that wonderful custard. On this particular visit, I did run into an issue which I will not lower my rating because of, but want people aware of so it does not happen to them. If you have a coupon for a discounted custard, and they ring in any other item after that, it will restore the custard to the full price on their register. I did not notice that and paid the full price. The manager did give me a card for a free custard next visit so they certainly took responsibility but just wanted people aware to keep an eye on that. In defense of the staff, I don't think they noticed either that it had occurred, so I did not allow that to detract from my impression of five star service from their pleasant, friendly and attentive staff Of course the custard is a star. It comes in all sorts of different ways to serve it. I tend to usually be a purist indeed, as a soft serve, but sometimes their specials are so exciting that I cannot resist. I have never tasted any of them that I did not find awesome. Their steakburgers should not be left as an afterthought. These are not like other fast food burgers; the meat is actually very tasty and because there's not any "proprietary" seasonings on it I even order an extra one so that I can sit outside with my puppy and she can enjoy it. It is small enough to not be unhealthy for her and big enough to be a satisfying snack. Its fat content does not make her ill like the typical fast food burger would. I personally like the fries and find the sauces to be quite good. Prices are more than reasonable and they have hours that make them convenient whenever you're hungry or craving that custard fix. I am a Freddy's fan and wish they would open one closer to where I live in Miami.

The resturant inside was very clean, and the employees working behind the counter were very nonchalant. I ended up ordering their grilled chicken sandwich combo with their famous skinny fries. My mom got the Freddy's Original double combo with a Turtle milkshake and onion rings. The sandwich portion was big. The chicken was very juicy and tasted alright. The fries, however, were not seasoned. I had to get a salt and pepper packet to season them. At that point, they were very good, tasty, and crispy! Overall, the meal was okay. It was nothing spectacular but also nothing terrible either. As for my mom, she wasn't very impressed with her hamburger. She said the portion size was good, but she would describe the hamburger itself as "lacy." She said it was okay, but since it took us 27 minutes to get here, she said Culver's was better in quality and closer. She was underwhelmed by the onion rings. She said it was more of the fried breading and barely any onion inside. However, she did enjoy her milkshake, but struggled to suck it up through the straw. It was enjoyable to try a new establishment, but it was just a mid experience for me.
