Toadstool Café was one of the highlights of our visit to Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe. The restaurant is incredibly well themed, and it really feels like you've stepped into the Mushroom Kingdom. The décor, interactive details, and presentation of the food are all impressive and make the experience feel unique. The food itself was good, with generous portions and fun presentation, although a few items were a little overpriced for the quality. It can also get very busy, so expect a wait during peak hours. Overall, it's definitely worth visiting at least once, especially if you're a Mario fan. It was super cute inside and the moving projections of the toads walking throughout the town were cute. The tables and benches were all well themed. Even the food was super cute but it was definitely overpriced and I remember some of the food tasting just alright in Japan. It was a little weird though that they took the top of the toad cup/mushroom cap lid because they were worried people would steal it. We weren't too excited about the food as we weren't too hungry and just wanted to try something new here. We decided on the mushroom soup and the garlic bread bites. The garlic bread was pretty decent and paired well with the soup. The mushroom soup itself was strong in mushroom flavor and tasted not bad. Toadstool Cafe was an interesting experience. I would really say it was 3.5 stars. You stand in line to wait for a table. Once you are seated, you order from a QR code. There is no way to make any substitutions by ordering online. I waved down a manager and she allowed me to make a substitution through her. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatball, my daughter ordered spaghetti and I ordered the chicken Alfredo and garlic bread knots. Everything came out pretty quick. They said their food was okay. I actually really liked mine and loved that broccoli was in it. I would definitely order it again. We went smack in the middle of lunch time so it was packed. Five stars for the atmosphere two stars for the food, I'm giving this three stars. Everyone says go to pizza moon that it's the best place to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately, my kids do not care how good food taste they wanted super Nintendo themed meals. So I went in with a very low bar on taste. It is super convenient how you just find a table scan the QR code and order from there. Seriously I wish Disney did this. It got people in and out very quickly and it was so nice not to have to wait in line to order. At about 1140 we were able to snag one of the last tables. However, I never saw the line get too long because the restaurant is very big. My kids got the kids spaghetti and the kids burger. The little trinkets that come with the meals are a great idea. That's what made this meal so special for them. My younger son ended up eating my older son spaghetti. My older son didn't like the spaghetti and ate a bit of a side of fries. My husband ended up eating my son's burger. And I ate my son's broccoli. So it was everybody eating off of everyone else's dishes. I got the chicken and it was actually pretty good. The cream sauce that it came with was surprisingly delicious. Definitely not healthy but good nonetheless. The potatoes were very good as well that came with a dish which surprised me. This place is so fun for the atmosphere. There are windows to the "outside" so you see toads running all about the land. Every so often, Bowser comes and attacks them. We finally got to try Toadstool Café! We've been to Universal in CA and Japan, and we could never get a reservation at Toadstool Café, but we had no problem walking into the Orlando location. This place is super cute! The theme is on par with the décor and all the food. We tried the mushroom soup, the cheesy garlic knots, Bowser's fireball challenge and Yoshi mushroom alfredo. The mushroom soup blew my mind! I was expecting Campbell's cream of mushroom, but you could actually see the tons of chopped mushrooms. It arrived in a mushroom bowl, and topped with mushroom crackers. The knots were all mushroom shaped. They were soft and pillowy and came with a side of delicious marinara sauce to dip into. My daughter loved her fettucine alfredo, which came with ample amounts of grilled chicken breast slices, mushrooms and broccoli. It was a pretty large portion. Bowser's dish was surprisingly tasty as well! The meatball and sauce were both season well and packed a punch! The meatball was not dry at all and smothered in melted cheese. To end our meal, we ordered the Princess Peach's Cake. It was smothered in whipped cream with a few raspberries, strawberries and apples. The cake was moist, but nothing special. I had been reading reviews about this place for a while, so I knew it was going to be worth the wait and it absolutely was! There was a line when we arrived, but we only waited about 30 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. The restaurant is incredibly cute, and every single detail is picture-perfect. Absolutely adorable restaurant in the middle of a chaotic Super Nintendo land. This whole Epic Universe park is so hot, and we needed a cool spot to just relax, get a drink, have some really cute themed food. And Toadstool Cafe hit the spot! I'm not usually a fan of the whole mobile ordering thing, but since it wasn't too crowded in there yet we were able to find a table big enough for our group of 5. Once we sat down, each of us could order individually and then the food was delivered by wait staff. It actually worked really seamlessly. Just make sure you have a credit card linked to your account in the Universal app for the fastest check-out. The spaghetti and meatballs were awesome! And the Coke Freestyle machines are so cool, with very cold and fresh soda. The kids' meals come with a toy...so fun! My family and I shared the following dishes: - Bowser's Fireball Challenge: Actually had a nice kick to it. A big, thick, and moist meatball that is good for sharing. The pastry puff was a bit dry. Would've been good with some pasta. - Luigi Chicken Sandwich: Standard chicken sandwich with fries. Wasn't dry which was nice. - Yoshi Mushroom Alfredo: Tastes like something that could be made at home, but not in a bad way. The pasta was creamy, full of meat, and the pasta was cooked nicely. - Mt. So, I already saw the reviews on here and my fave theme park influencers (yes, I'm a nerd) talking about the mid-level food here. With that in mind, I knew what I wanted and was more than happy! The caprese salad was good! I like a softer mozzarella and a fresher tomato, but I'm not in a market right now, I'm in a theme park. Considering that, the pesto flavor was great, the salad was fresh, the plating was adorable, and this was a solid, healthy snack that will give you a great boost of energy. The bean pole cake? Yummmmmy! You think you're getting more chocolate at first, but then strawberry hits, and a nice balance of earthy matcha jumps in. This was moist, yummy, creamy, and not too sweet. An excellent and enjoyable treat. The ambiance? Oh my gosh, I lived. From the cartoon window installs, the famous plumber pipe in the center, down to the team members costumes, I lived!! The decor of Toadstool Cafe is great! There's also some scenes where Bowser's minions on a flying ship are in the area and all the Toads are running away. As with other Universal restaurants, you seat yourself, order through the Universal app, scan the table for your number, and wait for staff to deliver your food. Super Mushroom Soup: come with a Nintendo mushroom top and staff asks if you want a picture before they remove the top unveiling the soup. The soup is a nice creamy mushroom soup. Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots: I loved the flavor of the garlic knots as they were cheesy and garlicky. The knots themselves were very dense though and was more bready and drier than I expected. My son wanted to experience Toadstool Cafe and I must say - cool experience but taste wise- thumbs down. Venue: starts with standing in line, walls decorated with digital menu which I thought was nice. The menu is shaped in Mario characters which is awesome. Makes you want to order all (but I recommend not to). When it's your turn you be will seated- quite large venue than its entrance! So cool. Then you order your food online and the food will be delivered to your table. It is a sit down restaurant but not much service. Food: visually pleasing and really cool. But don't expect much out of taste. Cold food. Soup was at hottest warm. All good and dessert tasted..old. Either too salty, too sour, too stale. Service: they bring your food. That's it. Great atmosphere, not so good staff (on our visit). The mobile ordering app was messing up that day, but the workers at the registers did not want to take orders. They were there in case someone was paying with cash, but the workers roped off the ordering area and were standing around on their phones. We ended up having to order at the counter - the workers told us to go find a table and one of us would need to walk back and order with the table number that we had. Seems a little inefficient when the system is down but I get it because they need to know where to deliver the food. Fine. Lots of staff standing around chatting loudly with each other. There was one staffer cleaning the tables by herself; I feel like one of the guys joking around could have helped clean tables too but oh well. That woman was working hard for sure - I hope she gets a promotion. Food arrived, it was fine. The Mt Beanpole cake was delicious, I get the hype. The rest of it was meh. I had gone to get a vegan calzone from the Yoshi snack booth - not many vegetarian options in the actual cafe. Worth a visit to check it out, but there are soooo many more places to eat at Epic. I came here for dinner with my sister on a Friday evening while visiting epic universe at universal theme park. It was a very cute and well themed spot. The meatball was 1lb and I ordered it at my table via phone with the QR code. It came out pretty quickly and was hot. There was a large piece of gristle in my meat which I did not enjoy but it was ok overall. I was starved and ate the whole thing. It's little pricy (around $25) and it just comes with that bowser puff pastry. The pastry was pretty dry and underwhelming. The meatball was not too spicy. I really like themed cafes and wanted to try this place since we were in Super Nintendo World around lunch time. We went around 11AM and beat the lunch rush that came in around 12PM. We were able to easily grab a table! I did the mobile pickup order through the phone and it was seamless! I tried the chicken fettuccine and thought it was okay. The chicken was very salty but the pasta itself was not which led to a strange eating experience. The tiramisu cake was very cute and tasted good. My spouse got the Mario burger. It was a standard burger! I got the cream of mushroom soup and liked the Toad top that came with it. They do allow you to take a picture but they will take it away after (I bet you people were taking the tops). The soup itself was tasty. Once seated, you scan the QR code to let staff know you've arrived and to prepare your meal. Even around 3PM, there was a wait to get in and the dining room was packed. The soup reminded me of a home made style soup, comforting, warm and very delicious, the garlic knots went really well with it! Unfortunately, this place is more about ambience than food quality. The food itself was extremely bland, and to make matters worse, they do not provide salt or pepper if you asked. It's disappointing to say this because the restaurant's decoration is absolutely adorable. If you love Super Mario or Nintendo, it's a fun spot to walk through and take photos. You can also refill Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cups here, which is a plus. We waited approximately 50 minutes for our food. During that time, multiple tables that were seated after us received their meals. We eventually had to flag down a manager for help. Thankfully, once we spoke up, the food arrived within about five minutes. The manager on duty was very efficient and apologetic, which helped ease the situation. While the food looked incredibly cute and well-themed, the taste did not match the presentation at all! This is honestly one of the first negative reviews I have had to leave. The biggest disappointment was the Super Mushroom Pizza Bowl. Despite clearly stating that it comes with mozzarella cheese, both pizza bowls we ordered arrived with absolutely no cheese! We asked a staff member if cheese could be added, and they told us they could not give us any. If they had run out, that should have been communicated instead of simply refusing. A pizza bowl with no cheese feels like false advertising, especially since it stated in the descriptions it had mozzarella. What we ordered: Yoshi Mushroom Alfredo: $16.99 Fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, and a Yoshi egg parmesan crisp. This dish was extremely bland with no seasoning at all. It had zero salt and no depth of flavor. We ordered two plates and did not finish either one. Unfortunately, both of us ended up getting sick and throwing up a few hours later. The dish honestly reminded me of a frozen microwave meal. Super Mushroom Pizza Bowl: $17.99 Pizza bowl with mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom marinara sauce topped with a Super Mushroom pizza crust. Our table ordered two. The bowl itself was adorable, but neither dish had any cheese, and we were told we could not get any added. Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots: $8.99 Mini mushroom-shaped knots brushed with garlic butter, parmesan cheese, parsley, and served with marinara sauce. These were decent, but nothing memorable. Block Tiramisu: $8.99 Tiramisu layered with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and topped with a chocolate power-up. This was the only item everyone at our table truly enjoyed. It actually had flavor and was genuinely good. Overall, waiting nearly an hour for food that was extremely bland, lacking basic seasoning, and missing advertised ingredients made this experience very disappointing. Spending about $88 here did not feel worth it, and we would not return. The concept and visuals are super cute and great for photos, but that's about it. If you are visiting Epic Universe, your best bet is heading to Yoshi's Snack Island for a shell calzone and a smoothie instead. Sadly, this was the worst place we ate at Epic Universe. This cafe is themed perfectly! There is a plethora of seating inside, so don't worry too much if the line seems long to get in. Additionally, the staff seat your party so you don't have to worry about searching for a seat. We ordered on the app while we waited in line and then scanned the QR code on our table to have our order delivered to us. I love this process! The Bowser's Fireball Challenge was $25 and included a 1-pound meatball with spicy sauce and a Bowser shaped biscuit. The meatball was just okay. The mushroom soup came in such a cute bowl and was surprisingly really really good. This restaurant is a bit pricey (I think the Piranha Plant Caprese was like $13-14 which was hard for me to justify spending on a few tomatoes and mozzarella slices), but you do have to remember this is located inside Epic Universe so you will be paying theme park prices. I would come back for the soup on a cold theme park day if I wanted a quick, healthy, hearty snack under $10 (for the soup specifically). The desserts looked good, but we didn't get to try any. Amazing restaurant!! Probably my favorite place I ate at in the new Epic Universe. The whole reason you are going is for the ambiance, the decor, and theme of the whole restaurant. From looking into the restaurant from the outside, to actually entering and sitting down at a table, the whole journey is crafted so nicely with the design of the whole place and the Toad characters on the big LED screens to really just immerse you in the Mario World universe. The dining room was very large inside, and you are able to place your order with no human interaction needed. We ordered the Mario burger, Luigi sandwich, mushroom soup, salad, and the tiramisu mushroom block cake. The food came out decently quick, but it went by faster since we were able to watch the Toads roam around in their neighborhoods and cook in the kitchen on the screens. The whole environment inside is hustling and bustling with sounds and things to see. Sometimes, the toads on the screens encounter a thunderstorm and start freaking out and running around everywhere, and even the lights dim a bit in the main dining room: it's so cute!! The Mario burger was good, just your average burger though. Luigi chicken sandwich was also good, I really liked the sauce on the sandwich. They also came with fries which were decent. The mushroom soup was a sleeper though, really good! The salad was just regular salad but nice dressing. Lastly, the dessert was so cute and unique. Tasty as well! Food was good, ambiance was fun with the Mario Themed designs, dressings, and windows (screens). The food was allergy friendly for peanut and treenut allergies, which was nice and one of the reasons we went to this cafe. I had heard that the fountain drinks were not refillable, but that was not true - was able to refill mine without issue. I had the burger, which was good and without reading carefully, I ordered the Princess Cake thinking it was a slice. It wasn't - it was a whole cake. It says it serves 3-4, but honestly, I think you could feed 6-8 with it. The cake itself was good, the frosting and other addons were a bit much after the first few bites - that's my problem, not the cake's problem. There's no real service except to be seated and have food brought out to you. Food presentation, especially the desserts, continued to carry the Mario themes which was fun. It was a fun thing for my older kids, but perhaps the true value was lost on them since younger kids would probably dig it more. That being said, still plenty of adults, older kids, and family's with younger kids in attendance and all seemed to have a good time. There is no bathroom in the restaurant - whoever thought that was a good idea is crazy! I know, perish the thought, but after touching everything from rides, hand rails, and door handles, I like to wash my hands before I touch food. I had to go all the way to Donkey Kong land entrance to wash my hands. It wasn't bad, just kind of a but long for washing hands for restaurant eating. 5 stars for the Toadstool Cafe in Universal's Epic Universe Park - this quick service restaurant is located in the Super Nintendo area of the park (lower level). The design inside is nicely decorated with the Nintendo theme, and there is plenty of seating and Coke freestyle machines inside. We tried the Mario Burger and the Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs with a side of Garlic Knotts. The garlic Knotts and the Mario Burger were good, nothing too special and both about what you'd expect. The Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs however was really good! The sauce had a nice spice to it, and the meal itself was super filling. It's nice that the workers bring the food right to you as well. Overall, I think it's a nice quick service place to get a meal in the park. read more

It's the experience....but the food was decent. If you give this place a try, just know you gotta order the food on the park app while you're waiting in line for a table to free up! When a table is free, you scan the code on the table and they bring the food out to you. read more

This place is adorable. The visuals and ambiance are a 10/10 for kids & family. The artistry & design is really fun & it's def one of the coolest restaurants I've ever visited. The food however is very basic. Everything tasted like frozen dinner quality, so you're basically paying for the vibes, and for kids I guess it's worth it. read more

The design of this place is amazing. It is a very and theme restaurant, I found it funny that they kinda serving Italian food in a Mario theme restaurant. It did take a little longer than to get our food but it was worth it and it doesn't felt too long because of so much to see inside. Staff also works very hard to make sure the table is ready, saw a lot of people that try to get a table just walking in from the exit, but the staff handles it well and ask them to get inline. The Mario Burger is excellent, the sauce reminds me of Big Mac, it was not overcooked and amazing. Then Fire Flower Spaghetti and Meatballs tasted excellent and little spicy. I really like the Mt. Beanpole Cake, great presentation and great taste. For theme park food, it is excellent and fun. I will come back. read more

A lot better than I had expected! We wanted to try a new restaurant in Epic Universe for our second visit, and our friends were visiting specifically for this land. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the specialty drink, both which exceeded my expectations. I will continue on my journey of trying all the food spots at the park! read more
