The World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's (aka "Epic McD") is a unique McDonald's fast food restaurant that opened in Orlando, Florida in 1976. With a floor area of 19,000 square feet, it was the largest McDonald's in the world by square footage until it was surpassed by the opening of a 21,500 square foot McDonald's at Disneyland Paris in 2026. Another one located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is believed to be taller in height. The original Orlando facility was closed in 2015 and subsequently demolished. The current structure opened in 2016. It has three stories and offers a 22-foot-tall PlayPlace, a Mac Tonight animatronic show, over 100 arcade games, and a waving 30-foot-tall image of Ronald McDonald at the entrance. In addition to standard McDonald's menu items, it is also equipped with an Italian kitchen that features a brick oven. Customers can order customized pasta dishes, brick oven pizza, Belgian waffles, omelettes, "Gourmet Bistro" items, and diverse dessert items. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day. My family and I recently visited the World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's while we were on an East Coast Road Trip. I wouldn't normally feature McDonald's on my blog, but I think that I can make an exception for this location which is absolutely massive and frequently packed. My younger son is a little more traditional, and he ordered a Happy Meal with Chicken McNuggets & Fries. The rest of us wanted to try some of those custom Italian-inspired items. I had the "Ravioli" (w/ tomatoes, onions, olive oil & garlic sauce), my wife had the "Cavatappi" (w/ bacon, onions, basil pesto sauce), and our older son had the "Cheese Pizza" (w/ bacon bits, olives). It's worth pointing out that custom meals aren't ready as quickly as standard McDonald's items; they take a bit longer. We waited close to an hour for our dishes, but it was worth it. Had to stop in and visit my old stomping grounds. Thankfully it wasn't too busy. It was clean, service was quick, and the food was as expected. It was fun to check out the wider variety- even if it wasn't exactly done....well. (The pizza is very skippable). Passing thru Orlando and the family wanted to try this location. This wasn't like the McDonald's I'm used to, and the place was super busy. There is apparently an upstairs area with an arcade and such. I did not make my way up there but my family did take a peek. We had the option of ordering at one of the several kiosks or at a small register in the corner. The place seemed to be divided into 3 food areas. One for regular McDonald's items, another for pizza & pasta, and another for desserts. This felt like chaos due to so many people waiting and ordering meals. The pizza station was a bit slower and my food did come out quite some time after my family's orders. The pasta was okay, not too bad. There could have been more flavor to the Alfredo as the flavors fell flat and started to taste the same after a bit. My family did enjoy the pizza. They appear to have a legit brick oven set up. Despite the heavy traffic, most of the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Even in the main dining area...As soon as guests would leave, the staff would clean each table and area quickly. The custom pizza and their pasta was surprisingly good! Chicken nugget tasted bland compared to those two lol. If you order dine-in, they bring it to you. There was a long line for kiosk despite there being multiple. I mean that's as expected though because this is kinda a tourist attraction too. We waited more than 30 minutes for our food though. They offer brick oven pizzas, gourmet waffles, a dessert counter, and more. A very interesting stop. I heard about it and decided I needed to know what it was all about. We tried the pepperoni and sausage pizza, tortellini in alfredo sauce, and Philly cheese steak. At first, it was too much!!! People everywhere, then once I got in the mix, I was good. Dan the Man helped me and he was a joy. We had a brief co versatile while he professionally took my order, engaging with ne the entire time. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. The burger looked good, especially after seeing other customers' orders, but the taste did not match the appearance at all. It had an unpleasant aftertaste, and both my family and I felt sick afterward. The prices also felt way too high for the quality of the food we received. For what we paid, I expected a much better burger and overall experience. In my opinion, there are better options nearby, including Five Guys or Steak 'n Shake, where the food is more satisfying and feels like a better value. My review of Epic McD in Orlando, FL., the world's largest McDonald's at a whopping (sorry about that), STAGGERING 19,000 square feet. To begin, the ordering process is a very chaotic and disappointingly frustrating ordering process. I had to order at a kiosk which I simply loathe due to the amount of DNA and fecal matter that is undoubtedly all over those screens. Guys, don't say it ain't true; I've seen you come out of the stalls and make a beeline to the door only to be seen touching the kiosks. You're nasty. I tried going to the one open terminal, but nobody was present at the time. Back to the kiosks where humanity is challenged by the ever static McDonald's menu. At the end of the kiosk order, you are asked for a tent card number if you choose to eat in. Wouldn't you know it, all but two of the many kiosks did not have those present. So when you work through the kiosk order and get to the end, you are then under the gun to get a table tent card. I ordered a staple for me which is a Big Mac w/ fries and a Dr Pepper. But there is a brick oven pizza that is touted for this place so I searched for and found it on the menu! I put in an order for a pepperoni pizza with the Big Mac and fries. There, that in; order is placed and now.... no receipt because the printer attached to the fecal matter covered kiosk is out of paper. The hand sanitizer dispensers were empty too. All of the ones at the kiosk and in the dining area. All empty and no manager or employee to help. No hand cleaner, no receipt at the kiosks. I'm just going to trust the process and see what happens. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands only to find one of the soap dispensers not working. I use the one to the left of the sink and it dispensed a small amount of soap. Being diligent and not wanting someone's butt all over my hands, I eventually got enough soap to wash and push the door open with a sweep of my foot. I am back at my table where the tent card sat undisturbed. I was stunned given the amount of people there, so thank you everyone for being honest and nice! The Big Mac and fries arrived, a pleasant young lady said the pizza would be out shortly. I am stunned that not only did the Big Mac actually look well prepared, it tasted just like I remember as a kid. Great job Epic McD! The fries to me are always meh, no difference there and the Dr. Pepper was on point. I'm halfway through the Big Mac and the pizza has arrived. 15 minutes after ordering! Not bad considering how busy it is here and most pizzerias can't do that on a mildly busy day. Granted, this is a small to medium size'ish brick oven pizza, but this came out A LOT faster than I was expecting given my initial frustrations of trying to order. The pizza is actually really good, kind of a Neoploitan'esk to New York style. Way to go McDonald's, this is very good and your saving grace. It should be offered at more of your restaurants rather than some slices. But I will stop there. This pizza is definitely not something you'd expect from McD's. The rest of the place is, well it's simply huge inside. There is an area for desserts, obviously the pizza oven and large bar to sit at around it on the first floor, along with a huge dining room that wraps around the place. The 2nd level is a haven for kids with an arcade, a massive play area and more seating. Back to the first floor, workers were.walking product to tables, removing table tents, but the kiosks never seemed to be "full" with them. Employees seemed busy, but not too attentive. More care could be placed at the kiosks as that appeared to be the bottleneck in the restaurant. Once you get passed getting to a kiosk and ordering, the rest is nice that your food is delivered to the table. I just had a Big Mac,but it did not disappoint, the pizza was better though. I wouldn't say you've gotta go here, but if you loved McDonald's at some point it's worth a go. Note to management, pay more attention to the front of house and ordering area. One employee was mopping a soda spill near the soda fountain stations while customers were trying to fill their drinks. I wish people were smarter and did not frustrate her while she was trying to clean the area, but people are that stupid. Hats off to her for the care given to the soda station. I wish I could see her name tag, but great job and thank you for your care. Management, please make sure soap and sanitation stations are full and operational. When planning my trip to Orlando, I knew I had to add "Epic McD" on the itinerary. At 19k sq ft, this location was considered the world's largest McDonald's. At first glance, it looked like a pretty standard McDonald's until I saw the pizza oven, pasta line, and a whole separate area for cakes and other desserts. I was able to try the Philly Cheese Steak which tasted like a Big Mac x Sausage McMuffin crossover. The highlight of the experience was the McChicken Alfredo Pasta, it was TOP TIER! I was able to customize the veggies, sauce, and noodles for my pasta and added on a McChicken filet which is the same chicken they use for their sandwiches. On the second floor, there was a large arcade with claw machines and a multi-level PlayPlace. The service was great! They had employees walking around, offering to take plates and trays away for convenience. On our way to Camping World Stadium, we stopped at McDonald's for dinner. It was a convenient midway stop between our home and the stadium. This McDonald's location is one of the largest in Florida, spanning four floors and offering oven-baked pizza and pasta in addition to the classic McDonald's menu. I'm surprised at the low ratings here. This is a great McDonald's. It's spotlessly clean. There are staff going around constantly: clearing tables, emptying garbage cans, sweeping the floor and cleaning the bathrooms. The bathrooms here are surprisingly very clean. Now on to the important stuff, the food. In addition to the regular McDonald's menu you can find pasta, pizza and even a Philly cheesesteak. Surprisingly it was one of the better cheesesteaks I've ever had. The sandwich was even served on a real plate. Even the "regular" Mc Donald's food tasted better here for some reason. We had to stop by and check out the biggest McDonald's after hearing that it's right here in Orlando! First off, I was very surprised by the menu and what unique food items there were to offer. The pizza and pasta stood out and we decided to give it a go. For dessert, there's also the Belgium waffle that we had to see for ourselves! It's a 2-story building with a mini arcade and games for the kids to play while the downstairs area is mainly for seating. It gets pretty busy so be sure to try and save a good spot if you're dining in. The interior does remind me of a typical McDonald's but with the highlights of the pizza oven and other food showcases to watch. Now, you can either order food at the front or order at the kiosks which is easier and faster to do. Remember that you can also login to redeem your deals and get points for your order like other locations! After ordering, we got a table number and the staff brought us our food within about 10 minutes for a few items and another 10 for the customized pizza and pasta. Let me tell you - I was very impressed and surprised by the quality of the food. The pizza was a thin crust with a light sauce and minimal toppings (based on choice) and it held well and was pretty good! Finally got a chance to visit "The Worlds Largest McDonalds" on a trip to Disney. While this place is in fact spectacular on a McDonalds scale. There are some slight drawbacks. I would describe it as an 8 year olds paradise. Tons of things for them to do and get a cheap meal for the parents. That being said boy oh boy were there a million kids here. Not bad. To be expected with its close proximity to Universal and Disney. But the parking lot is much too small for the volume of customers they create. Spent a very long time circling the restaurant hoping to find a one. The food here was good. The cheesesteak on the new menu was delicious even if it was too salty for my liking. The chocolate cake was great as well. The rest of the meal was standard McDonalds quality which is not at all a deterrent. Would go again. This was such a funny McDonald's. 3 stories tall, 2 floors separating the restaurant and the arcade. But parents be warned, the arcade is expensive! I have heard so many people dumping a hundred dollars on just an hour here. The food isn't bad, just not worth a whole trip out, but to be fair I only tried the Philly cheesesteak out of the location specific items. They use ground beef but all the flavors of your standard cheesesteak are there. For $9.99, it's pretty big. You could probably split this and a large fry between 2 people and be pretty happy. It even have video games if you're ever in Orlando Orlando, you have to come and check this place out the only McDonald's that sells pasta pizza in Philly cheesesteaks. read more
