This is a good place for a fast casual meal, especially if you like ice cream. I came here for lunch with my kids. They have amazing kid meal deals, 7.99 or 8.99 for drink, food, and ice cream dessert. The food is fairly standard, but it was nice that there were fruit and vegetable options as sides. My son did choose broccoli so that he could feel less guilty about his sundae! I had their version of a Philly cheesesteak. It was served on Texas toast, and the meat was chopped hamburger, not shaved ribeye. Nonetheless, it was tasty with nice pieces of bell pepper and onion to show this was made of real things. Our server was an angel, and I felt for her, overwhelmed by the number of tables. At one point, I saw her break into a run to try to keep up with everything. Thankfully, at some point, other servers showed up, but I do think this place is understaffed for the capacity. Food was quickly prepared, but with few servers, the plates could sit on the counter for a while before getting delivered. Table next to mine was just the "drop" zone for the restaurant... a bunch of extra table advertisements tossed and stored on it, a water pitcher so the servers do not have to go in back somewhere, a bunch junk like that. Food was acceptable, but nothing to get excited about. I enjoyed the new location. It had a new, clean feeling. The restaurant is large and can hold a large party. Perfect spot for a large group visiting Orlando (saying that because of the location of the restaurant). We visited just for dessert. My family enjoyed it and ate it all up. I have always heard about Friendly's but this was my first time trying it! I wasn't super hungry so I got the mac & cheese, which was a small portion but perfect for what I wanted. The top was already cold when I got it, but it was still hot at the bottom. It was creamy and tasty, just wish it was hotter throughout. I got the monster mash sundae for dessert and it was very cute. The ice cream was creamy and there was a good amount of hot fudge (though I still ordered a side of extra!) We love Friendly's for a quick and delicious meal. I usually get the burger with onion rings and round out the meal with a sundae or a milkshake of course. This location is close to WDW so it attracts a lot of tourists and the wait to be seated can vary but they are usually very quick. The servers are friendly and personable. I just ran the Disney Marathon and stumbled across Friendly's located 10 min away from Disney's property!!! Post-race treats from Friendly's could not be more ideal. We came in at 10:10 p.m. When we asked to be seated, the waitress walked up to the hostess stand, groaned, and threw her hands in the air. She then walked away and left us standing there for about 15 minutes before finally seating us, even though there were only three tables with customers. Once we were seated, I ordered a tea, and the waitress told us she had already thrown the tea out because they close at 11:00 p.m. We asked if she didn't want us to eat there, and she said no. At that point, we decided to leave. I live in Tampa and regularly stop at Friendly's on my way home from the Orlando theme parks, and this is the first time I've ever had an experience like this. If they weren't willing to serve us, they should have told us when we arrived at 10:10 instead of making us wait 25 minutes and leaving us with less time to find another restaurant that was still open. This is the cleanest Friendly's I've ever been to. Friendly's was one of my favorite places as a kid and it was fun to share that with my daughter. I ordered the pastrami super melt. It was good. My daughter got kids Mac n cheese. The sundae was obviously the best part! I LOVE peanut butter, so our amazing server helped me create a very peanut buttery sundae, which was delicious! My daughter got a banana split. She doesn't usually finish her food (even dessert!), but she finished that sundae! This place was amazing all the way around. We came off of a very long flight, and stopped in just an hour before closing, and it was game changer. We still had a two hour drive and needed to get to our destination asap. The service was exceptional, Alicea was our server, and she was phenomenal making sure that all of our orders were correct, getting things out as soon as possible. She made sure that everything was thought of and we didn't really need to worry about anything. Additionally, the food was great. We tried several of the Late Night Appetizers, which tasted great. The Mini Motts Sticks were by far our favorite, with all of the kids mentioning how great of a cheese pull these had, something that's all the rave. We all tried different things, and really these dishes had an elevated palette, for instance the bacon Mac and Cheese Burger had Savory, Salty, and a variety of textures that really broke up the dish. The overall experience was 10/10, we loved the overall vibe and atmosphere of the joint, the people working, and the quality of the food. We recently tried Friendly's in Orlando after my sister-in-law told us they're popular in New York and totally worth it. We ended up going pretty late, around 9 at night, and it turned out to be the perfect time to go. They had a nighttime deal where appetizers were half off, so of course we had to take advantage of that. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table, and everyone got ice cream. Between my two nieces, my brother, his wife, and me, we had plenty of food and sundaes to go around, and I believe I spent less than $50 for all of us. That was honestly impressive for the amount we ordered. The food was delicious, and the sundaes were so yummy. Everyone got something different, and every single one looked amazing and tasted just as good. It really felt like a classic, fun ice cream experience. The service was quick, too. Our server was handling the whole section by himself, and you could tell he was busy, but every time we needed something, he was right there. Super attentive despite juggling multiple tables. Overall, I absolutely loved it. Great experience, great prices, and such a fun spot for families, especially at night when they have deals. We went to this Friendly's and when we arrived there was a sign that said wait to be seated we waited a while as staff looked at us over and over but never approached us or said anything. There were only about a quarter of the tables occupied when we arrived. Finally got the attention of someone and asked her if we should seat our selves and she told us no and she would be over in a moment. She then proceeded to stop at three different tables and then went in the back. I then asked a man if he could help us. He did walk over to the desk and asked us to put in our names and we asked why if most of the tables were not occupied. Asked if we could be seated and brought water (I was very thirsty and I was also walking with a cane) and he became very angry and was speaking in an angry loud tone. Another person also asked him a question in a calm voice and he again was very angry, rude with voice raised and told them he was having to cook and wait tables and they should just leave. They were a family with children. He then also told us to leave multiple times. None of the customers were being unreasonable and they were all treated horribly by this man. He was acting incredibly hostile towards us all yelling for us to just leave. The Friendly's corporate and management really needs to look into this restaurant because the staff need to be re-trained or better managed because this is not a reasonable way to treat anyone!!! I do it to myself at this point with back to back to back to back bad visits, but it's so hard not to come when it's my favorite flavor ice cream of all time. The service here is bad. Like BAD bad. The restaurant was empty - it was 9:30pm with a single table inside. The guy who approached me at the to-go counter looked like he didn't want to be there. I got an email that if I downloaded the app I'd get a free sundae so I did just that. I showed the worker my coupon, he put my order in then told me "oh if you download the app the same day then you can't use the coupon it's because they want you to come back" .....on the app it doesn't have a start date only that it expires 30 days after earning. I had to pay for my sundae and let me tell you, the MEASLIEST scoops in a medium sundae and the peanut butter sauce was so thin and he only did one pump (other workers have given more than 1 pump and I've never seen it this watery). I got about 8 spoonfuls of ice cream out of my whole ice cream, NOT worth the +$6 they charge. It is so good to have a Friendly's here in Florida, that we can occasionally get to when we are in Orlando. We had two dinners here this past weekend, and the same waitress who was very attentive and responsive. They are clearly understaffed as empty tables sat there with people waiting to be seated. The kitchen was clearly the bottleneck. Food took forever to come out of the kitchen on both nights. On one of them, the waitress apologized and said the manager had gone back to work there to help out. It is a nice clean, modern Friendly's. So excited they are open. They are still in a soft opening so we kept that in mind as we dined so we were extremely patient and understanding but will share our experience. Even though there were some challenges we will return as we know they are all still learning. We went for breakfast. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in the door. It was pretty empty just two other tables and a ton of staff. All of which were amazing btw they do a great job helping each other out and are super friendly. Everything is brand new and super clean of course. Breakfast menu is small but plenty to choose from at great prices. Kids menu is incredible. Great variety and of course the value is fantastic. Service was slow. Our food took longer than normal and it was cold. But like I said above they are all still learning. Items were forgotten but as soon as we said something our server went to get them. It was odd two of us ordered a side of breakfast potatoes and my portion was huge and my sister's was tiny. Not "Friendly" at all, the cashier was a greasy heroine addict that has the personality of a s*** sandwich and told us we couldn't eat the ice we just purchased there in the restaurant. There was 2 tables occupied and there was more than 50 tables empty. Its a typical HOT Orlando night and we were rudely escorted to the front door and the gutless Manager refused to address this me and told scary looking cashier to tell me it's company policy, like that means anything. I have visited Friendly's since 1972 and I will can see why they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Go to Freddy's, or Handel's, or Cold Stone. This place is an absolute no go. Disgusting! read more

It took over 20 minutes for an employee to come to the hostess stand. She announced there was going to be a 30-40 minutes wait. Once again tables were waiting to be bussed. This is a management issue. If you have 30 tables, you should have enough staff to be able to serve 30 tables. We will not be back. read more

We went to Friendly's weekly when we lived in Massachusetts but 12 years ago we moved to Florida west coast and I have missed this favorite of ours. The food is good American fare.
