Mexican Camel in Florida offers plenty of parking, so getting there is easy and stress-free. The interior is pretty standard for a fast-food chain, but that's not why I stopped by in the first place. What caught my attention was the concept itself--the fusion of Arabic and Mexican cuisine sounded intriguing. It was late when I visited, and the staff seemed a bit low on energy, as if one foot was already out the door for the night. On top of that, the music was playing so loudly that it was difficult to hear--or place--an order. Since our senses do play a role in how we experience food, I asked if they could turn the music down, which they kindly did. That said, I didn't come for the music anyway , but for the food--so don't let that part kill your mood. The burrito was enormous, packed with vegetables, sauces, and steak. Unfortunately, the steak was on the chewy side; I'm still waiting for the day when steak in a burrito truly melts and slides through your mouth--and this wasn't quite it. The price was also a bit higher than what I'm used to for this type of food. Overall, despite a few drawbacks, the concept is interesting enough that I'd be willing to give Mexican Camel another try
Was in the area and decided to try this place based on the google reviews. It was completely empty on a late Friday afternoon and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the strong smell of old mop water. Despite being empty, the service was also rude and borderline dismissive. That being said, the Mexidilla and the mini churros that I ordered were actually pretty tasty, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
Fresh, Fresh, Fresh Reminds me of a Chipotle with how you can build your own bowl, but has several other "base" options you don't see there. Plus there are many more toppings available. So much better! You walk through a line of options as they build your meal, or you can order one of the 9 prearranged meals shown on the board. They give you plenty of food Prices range from $11 to $16 for most entrees with $12 being the average. My rice base was so fresh I could have just kept eating rice by itself with the cilantro sauce they recommended. Everything else I added was fresh and just right. I have a new Mexican place when I'm in the International Drive area. Drinks are not Pepsi or Coke, but an alternative. With prices so high I passed on this. You dispense your own. Ambiance, hopefully you like crazy camels because it's their theme. It's fun. It's crazy. They keep the place clean (although not sure why there was a long cleaning tool laying on the bar-height table in the middle of the dining room, you can see the head of it in my picture). The music they were playing was 80's rock, which was awesome. I'll be back!!!

Lots of great options, and the staff were helpful (although not super warm). The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. Great place for a quick bite.
The reviews for this place are BS. It's Chipotle style (it's just like a CAVA ) but the meats are not fresh they are just reheated old meats . I visited on a Friday for lunch it was empty and that should have been my first sign but I tried it anyway based on the great reviews. The meat looked dry and old and tasted like it too. They are not cooking this stuff up fresh. I am so disappointed I used up calories for the day here on this meal. What a bummer.
So I am visiting and my hotel was approximately half a mile away and this selection comes as close as chipotle as it gets and I was not disappointed. You can either choose from Mexican or more of a Mediterranean selection. I went with the Mexican and he did not disappoint. The customer service was also really great. It's a cute little sit down area, which was pretty clean. I'm glad that I went. The price was great and for the amount of food that I received I was more than happy.
This secret hole in the wall place is incredible! The food is packed with flavor served up with so many varieties that cater to meat eaters and vegans is ohhhh so yummy. The service was excellent, honest and professional. I had the lamb on a pita with the choice of 10 (yes, 10) toppings as options. My friend had a delicious veggie quesadilla (it was soooo good) and the chips with guacamole and cheese were excellent! This spot is a must go to. You won't regret it! Enjoy!
This place is a fusion of Arabic and Mexican food. The staff don't speak English well which makes it hard to communicate. I was welcomed by a homeless man on the outside in a rough shape asking for money which was too intimidating for me as a girl walking up in the evening. I told the staff and they barely understood me. Food taste 6/10, lower than chipotle in quality but will give them 4/5 stars for trying. Meat just tastes too spicy or not fully cooked or just strange. I wouldn't choose this place again if I was in the area.
Highly recommend this place. The ingredients are fresh and varied. The bowl is a great price and large quantities given. Commendable service. Plenty of seating. Would come here again!
Chipotle but 1000x better. At first, I came here with expectations that it would be like every other overhyped mexican place serving mediocre food. This might be the best bowl place I have ever been to. Portions were incredibly generous--not even simply the bowl itself but when I asked for a tortilla on the side, they gave me one the size of my head AND heated it up. Amazing. Food was delicious, no joke. All the ingredients tasted homemade and like it was cooked with love. I took one bite and told my dad that I would choose this place over Chipotle any day. Everything was clean, service was friendly, no complaints at all. If I come back to Orlando, best believe I will coming back here for a quick and delicious meal.
My wife and I were finishing up a quick trip to Orlando and wanted lunch before we hit the road back to Tampa. The Mexican Camel offered up quick, tasty and filling food with a twist. This place is unique. A Mexican-Mediterranean fusion restaurant. It's not what you would expect but it works. Ingredients such as rice, veggies, meat and other things can be interchanged and that's what I got. I tried the Pita lamb fusion. This pita packet was stuffed with Greek braised lamb, lettuce, pickled onions, tzatziki and pico de gallo for that latin flair. My wife opted for the chicken fusion bowl. This dish had Greek grilled chicken, cilantro lime rice, chickpeas, grilled fajitas, lettuce, pica de gallo and a cilantro lime garlic sauce. This was reminiscent of other place we've been but with the added fusion flair, it kicked it up a notch. We sat down in the mostly empty restaurant and are our food in peace. It was good and we would definitely recommend if you're in the area. Another nice thing was that Yelp offered a free dessert with check-in. We got mini churros that were stuffed with caramel. I don't see them on the menu anymore but they were fantastic.
This is by far and away the biggest surprise and delight of any fast casual non-chain restaurant I've ever dined! I absolutely love this place! The amateur might scoff at the prospect of a Mexican-Halal fusion, but my son and I were intrigued and took the opportunity to try it out. We went back 4 times on our week's trip, and do not regret it! The shrimp tacos were unreal, the bowls are superb, and the pita chips are freshly prepared and out of this world. I will never eat store bought pita chips again! We also tried the amazingly good churros, and the freshly made chips, salsa and queso. And the service is absolutely wonderful! Exactly the kindness you want after a week of intense and chaotic schedules. We will be back!
What type of cuisine can you find at the Mexican Camel, you ask? Exactly what the name says! It's a Mexican & Middle Eastern fusion- think a Middle Eastern version of Chipotle. You can get a bowl or a burrito in a tortilla or pita, you can get protein of chicken or lamb or schwarma or other, it's such a fun mix of two wonderful regions of food. And all under true adorable branding of a literal Mexican Camel guy. The burritos are MASSIVE. Definitely enough for 2 people, unless you like hadn't eaten all day or something.. even then, it's more than plenty. The steak is fabulous and seasoned deliciously. Overall it's a cute store and nice if you want something a little different to eat but still not too out there. Also, the queso is absolutely fire, they make it in house and I'd highly recommend! read more
Tried this place for the first time and overall had a pretty ok experience. The flavor of the food was great. I ordered the quesadillas and they came out hot and fresh, which is always a plus. Definitely a solid choice if you're looking for something quick and tasty. I also tried the dulce de leche churros. They weren't exactly my favorite, but I'm still glad I gave them a try. It's always fun sampling something new on the menu. The service could have been a little better, especially since the spot wasn't busy at the time. Nothing terrible, but it didn't feel very attentive. Overall, I'd come back again for the food because the flavor was definitely there. Next time though, I'd probably go with a pickup order instead. read more

First time trying and it was really good!! Uber eats recommend and I got the chicken fusion bowl. It was way better than expected! Not a fan of chick peas but combined with the other flavors it was a solid 8/10. I did pickup and they were several people sitting inside. I also ordered churros filled with chocolate and dulce de leche. Definitely a sweet tooth worthy treat! I preferred the chocolate more. Definitely recommend for a quick inexpensive dinner option. read more

I wanted to love this place. The components are there but I ordered the wrong things. Staff is friendly and the space indoor and outdoor are inviting. I had all of the items in tacos. But the lamb meat is better served in a bowl as opposed to a taco as the meat is to wet. read more

The food is delicious but the service is absolutely awful. They also don't follow the food safety guidelines. An example, we ordered churros for dessert and the gentleman took his bare hands to push the excess sugar that fell on the counter into our churro bag... then proceeded to touch his ear bud for his music then went on to handling more food with his bare hands. As someone who is in food service... it was a bit displeasing to want to eat the food. The person who was refilling the meats in the station had no gloves on either. It was difficult to find positives in the customer service from sanitation, friendliness and timeliness... but trust that the food is good. read more
The restaurant kinda feels like the bones of a chipotle, but the food from this restaurant is significantly better! In my opinion, they are the pinnacle of good and quick food. I ordered the Mexdilla with a side of their chipotle mango sauce. Let me just say... I wish I knew about this place when I first arrived. I want to try everything on that menu. The staff wrapped up this experience in a bow. They were all super helpful, informative, and kind! I will for sure be back! I really wish I could say more but honestly there's no need in selling the idea of dining here. I'm sure you see the same 5 star reviews I have. Enjoy your meal! read more
This was my second time here and it was a good as the first. Same delicious proteins (you must try the chicken!!) and many many toppings to choose from. They have a great staff and the restaurant is spotless! Make sure you check in, I got a free dessert! read more

Loving the Mediterranean and Mexican mix here! It's nice to have variety! This place is perfect for a quick bite to eat if you're in a rush or heading for some outlet shopping. It's bright and fun atmosphere puts you in a good mood when walking in. My husband and I both went with the create your own bowl. They let you choose as many toppings as you'd like after choosing a meat. I went with half spicy chicken, half lamb, on top of cilantro white rice and black beans. We also tried the grilled chicken in our other bowl. Don't sleep on the fresh juices, we tried the watermelon and it was so perfect for a hot summer day! We also tried the desserts thanks to the Yelp check-in for a free dessert, sweet! :) The churros were so light and not too greasy. We also tried the baklava, but it tasted more like green tea to me. Still good with a nice flakey pastry, but I wasn't the different taste. The staff was super friendly, we loved trying this place for the first time! read more

This location is located on International Drive near the outlets. If you are coming from I-4 you have to turn and then go around the back to find it. It can be a little difficult to locate. But it is in a small shopping center on the corner. We have never been here before but this has a Chipotle, Bolay vibe. It is a create your own and can go either Mexican or Mediterranean. My husband and I got different items. He went with one of their signature items and I chose to create my own nachos. I was unsure of the braised lamb but the guy behind the counter was so friendly, he asked if I wanted to taste it. I really appreciated him asking if I wanted to sample as other places never do that. I chose the braised lamb so my bowl went the Mediterranean route. We also ordered falafels and the baklava. I asked for hummus sauce on the side and I really don't know what it was, but it was like a blended hummus and it was delicious!!! I really enjoyed my nachos, and my husband enjoyed his bowl. The falafels were hot and made fresh, they were crispy and delicious. You start with with your option, bowl, nachos, pita, burrito, etc. and then can add rice and beans. I normally do not enjoy beans at all but they had chickpeas as well. I have never seen it before and really appreciated it to have that as well. I really think that is a nice feature besides just black beans and pinto beans. The restaurant itself is a little smaller but lots of tables both inside and outside. You can also get it to go and delivery. They had music playing which gave it a fun upbeat vibe. My only suggestion would be to add little tags with the names of the toppings. There are so many things to chose from but you cant tell what everything is especially the sauces. If they had little tags telling you it would help a lot. This location is not really near us but it is near Universal which we do go to, so it will definitely be a location we return to. I already know what I will order next time. I am so glad we were introduced to this local gem. They have definitely made fans of us! read more

Totally in love with that Lemon Ginger "agua", but I know you are here to read about the food! Both my son and I had each a bowl - I had lamb and chicken. He had Chix Tinga (spicy version of Chix) and Lamb. On mine, I really piled it up with the Mediterranean suspects - like Tahini, chick peas, mediterranean rice, tabbouleh and Black olives, and he loaded a bit more traditional. Soooo...I do have to add, my son said, "this easily gives Chipotle a run for their money", and when in the area he will definitely repeat! I agree! This Med-Mex combo is for the godsssss... Everything was cooked to perfection. All the add-ons were fresh, and the guac was actually tasty! (I make my own, so I am picky.) To top it off - these peeps make their own BAKLAVA! Wuattt?? The easiest way to describe The Mexican Camel is as an upscale Chipotle that also incorporates Middle Eastern options to create fusion dishes. Our party of four had very different items, which illustrate the diversity available here. One person opted for a vegetarian, mostly Mexican bowl. Another had lamb in his. And a third had spicy shrimp on a salad. I, on the other hand, went far afield, and had nacho chips topped with Chicken Tinga. Everyone really enjoyed their selections, so there were no wrong choices! One thing that really stood out to me was the friendliness of the two servers working behind the counter. This was definitely not a robotic Chipotle performance, they were really into it. Service was also very fast. We all thought the bowls were a bit pricey, but I guess that's true of everything these days, and everyone agreed we'll be back soon, so that's what really matters. read more

As a family, we have very few places we can count on a good, healthy, and hearty meal. Specially kind on the wallet. The Mexican Camel has managed to check all the boxes. We most certainly be coming back to get some more items. Has the build your own bowl option, wow I'm at alloys for words on the quality, quantity and freshness of the items. Specially arriving as the last party of the day. Had the lamb and spicy chicken with both, yellow and white rice. All three beans, pinto, black and chick peas. And some of my favorite add ins were the green salsa, the garlic sauce, corn salsa, tabbouleh, and the pickled onions! My daughter tried the chicken quesadilla, and my father had some amazing lentil soup! Overall, all but praises here. The cherry on top was the Stubborn soda machine!! Ahhhh this is the new classic among foodies. Soda is just wow really. Just go and try yourself! Staff was very friendly, the tables were clean and the ambiance was very pleasant! Ok so few things make me want to make the trek to I-drive but apparently this Mexican-Mediterranean has converted me. TBH I was expecting a chipotle knock off but I couldn't have been more wrong. Everything I had was fresh and delicious. I did a build-your-own bowl for $15, going with grilled chicken, white rice, roasted potatoes (which we're.. chef's kiss), guac, pico de gallo, salsa and cilantro lime sauce. Then to put the top hat on this whole experience there was a free dessert with check in. The extra churro and baklava at the end was the best (yuppp I got both, fat kid inside me dreams big)! Then they also had stubborn soda on tap but the watermelon mint tea was my go-to. read more

They do not. Think of it more as a way better chipotle. It's fast casual not table service. Still really enjoyed it! Hope this helps!
