The food was amazing!!!!!!! They've definetly expanded since the last time we came and the places looks very nice and decorated. The mat and chicken from the fajitas was amazing so so flavorful and the amount of food was insane. Love that they give a lot of sides and sauces with the food. Service was quick and the employees were very nice!
Late weekday lunch. Friendly prompt service by Alfonso. Refreshing Aguas Frescas de Limón. Huge tasty Chorizo Quesadilla with sides of refried beans and Guacamole included. My Molcajete for one person was delicious and huge; with shrimps, steak, chicken and chorizo with cheese and awesome Mexican veggies. Side of Guacamole, Refried beans, salad and Crema Mexican also included. Their salsas are perfect. We are coming back for Menudo and Pozole in the weekend. They also have breakfast starting 10am. Enjoyable ambiance with wall paintings of famous Mexican entertainers, well decorated and good A/C. Easy parking. Great discovery. Thanks Alfonso!!
All in all: I really think this is a great place to come back to if you like a simpler flavor of Mexico. Nice furniture and artwork. No real bar. Beers are in bottles. The premade margarita mix is sitting on the bar that isn't being used as a bar...More storage area than it is a bar. Food items are all LARGE portions. I should have ordered 1 birria taco. They have double tortillas which i love, lots of meat. Haven't had tacos this size since I lived in a part of town (different state) affectionately dubbed lil' Mexico...I still crave those street tacos...anyway... The salsa verde is sweet. Red sauce is good. The tomato salsa is plain, the chips are overdone. But they are still ok. Photo is of 3 traditional birria tacos with limes, and asada burrito (out of lengua). I placed the fork for size. The asada burrito was good. Massive. Easily a second meal for most folks. Our entire check came to less than $25 with plenty left over. Very affordable for those on a budget. I wouldn't come back if I'm in the area...there are places that have bolder authentic seasoning. Food was just too plain for us. BUT, had similar in Mexico. Also had more flavorful in Mexico...it's really just up to your palate. We like bolder flavors. The service was great.
We found this place through Google and Yelp reviews. The inside is a bit small so we waited just a bit for a table, but once we sat down our service was quick. The chips, queso, and salsa are all standard. The birria tacos were not my favorite.. I would pass on those as they were a bit soggy and had double tortillas which I don't think is necessary. If you do get it though, you could split it with another person since it's a lot of food. If I came back, I would want to try other things on the menu to see if I liked another dish better!
One of my favorite restaurants to go to when visiting Orlando. The food is fresh and authentic. The service is always great. There is a great ambiance in the restaurant and the seating is very comfortable. You can't go wrong with their tacos which are a very good deal. Their margaritas are large and delicious. Their aguas frescas have many options. I also tried a sope last time and it did not disappoint.
This hidden gem was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The service was too notch, homemade chips and 3 types of yummy salsa, the horchata and juices were fresh and crisp and cold! The surprise if the night was the amazing fried fish, the mixed grill in hot clay pot and tacos Al pastor so good.... The fried ice cream and churros were the best! I'd order it all again
GREAT authentic mexican food. We ordered the molcajete for two. So much food and so delicious. Fun atmosphere. Excellent service. Will definitely be back. Would like to try the fresh juice next time!
Tenampa is a municipality located in the montane central zone in the State of Veracruz, which must mean OBT in Spanish since that's where it's located, so good name. We were in the area and craving Mexican food, and the pictures of this place made us choose it. We arrived late evening on a Saturday and were promptly seated. It wasn't empty, but not packed either. (Aji Ceviche a few doors down was packed with a line). It was tough to decide what to get. I finally decided on the Fiesta de Mariscos which was an assortment of seafood (mostly shrimp). It had so many options and let me try some of the different flavors they had. Ceviche, Shrimp Soup, Shrimp Cocktail, Garlic Shrimp, Spicy Shrimp, Fried Shrimp and fish all on one plate. Everything but the fish was amazing, the fish just didn't have much flavor on it. Others ordered the Chili Relleno which was massive, steak nachos which were covered in steak, and a birria taco which was also good with the cilantro and onions on it. We'd probably stop by if we were in the area again as it was away from the touristy area of the Florida Mall.
Came in for lunch there service was great!! We were attended by Juanjo, he was very good and helpful. We got a chimichanga with carnitas, a steak fajitas, and a giant seafood and meat platter. The flavors were so yummy!! We wanted a bit more salt but that's an easy fix. We loved the seasoning ! The portions are hearty so we took some to go. We also had horchata and pineapple juice. Both were deeelicious!!
My girlfriend and I came in around 6:30 for dinner. There was a good amount of people but there wasn't a wait and we were seated quickly. We ordered the molcajete for one and the fajitas mixtas for one, as well as an extra queso dip for the table. I'll first start with the appetizers. The chips and salsa came out quick, however the chips tasted stale and were very hard. It was like they were from last week. The salsa was good though. The queso dip was good as well, however it wasn't particularly hot, just warm. On to the main courses. Both the molcajete and the fajitas took a while to be served to us. Once it got to the table, they were again warm, not hot. Usually the molcajete is bubbling and the fajitas are sizzling on the plate, but not today. It was probably sitting at the pass for a while before the waitress served it to us. The flavors of both, however were quite good. They were very well seasoned. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the stale chips and the warm, not hot food.
Was working on that side of town, and was really craving Mexican (not Tex-Mex). I opened up Yelp to search around me, and this popped up as one of the top spots within the immediate area. Yelp, as always, did not disappoint. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall off of the main road (south OBT near all of the car dealerships). It's actually next to Aji ceviche, which I've been, but never noticed this little gem next door. My visit was during lunch hours, so the foot traffic wasn't super heavy. I was quickly greeted by a server, seated, and served chips & salsa. The menu is quite extensive, and can be overwhelming if you're not familiar with this type of food. I went back and forth, but I ultimately got the steak fajitas. The food came out in a timely manner, was literally SIZZLING, and was very tasty. I often judge places on how good their refried beans are, and these were 10/10. Also, the guac was VERY tasty. Service was attentive, friendly, and when I (unfortunately) was struggling understanding the Spanish (I can usually pick up what's being said, but apparently not today), the server went and got someone to help. The interior decor is welcoming, comfortable, and well lit. I would also say that the price point is fair. The amount of food you get for the price would be hard to beat. I can't wait to come back again and explore the menu more. Thank you for the great food and service!
The moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. They then brought out chips and salsa. The salad was amazing. I ordered the park tacos and they came out with little wedges of lime. It was spectacular. I also ordered a aqua Fresca pineapple it was so delicious. The restaurant has a really nice tequila bar and Columbian bodega next door. The food and service was great. I'll be back here again for lunch or dinner to try more food.

Was greeted right away and the place looked very nice. The chips was on the hard side but their green salsa had a very nice kicked to it. The fajitas mixta was very good and very generous portion. It could easily feed 3-4 ppl. Love this place read more
I was visiting Kissimmee and I was hungry for something to eat. El Tanampa seemed like a good choice at the time. My first visit to this restaurant and I was happy with the way it looked. Lots of big tables and booths with tables that can move making it easy for big guys like me to fit. I actually ate there two nights in a row. My first visit I really enjoyed it however, it's my second visit that you left me very unhappy. I brought friends with me the second night and it was a completely different experience. The waitress was not very helpful. We ordered ribeye steaks with shrimp and she never bothered to ask us how we would like the steaks prepared like they did the previous night. She never came back to the table after she bought the food to see if we were ok or if we needed anything. In fact she never came back to even ask if we need refills on our soda or anything. It was a struggle just to get her attention. I asked several other waiters if they could please tell her to come over to the table and she would never come. When it was time for the check to be delivered, then she suddenly was available. Now the food was good. I can't knock the food. Even though she didn't ask us how we want our steaks prepared and even though she never came back again to see us during the meal , the food was actually very tasty. However, I personally will never go back to this restaurant. When I go out to eat, I want full service. I want an attentive hostess. I want a helpful server and I want good food. I'm a generous tipper 25-30%, but I expect good service and good food and if I don't get it, I won't return. read more

5 stars from my wife and I! Chicken enchiladas were OUTSTANDING! The tacos were also amazing, we had asada, carnitas, and chicken. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Green enchiladas! If you're looking for a great local spot this is it! 10/10! Plus our service was fast and our Server (Junior or Julian) was very attentive and friendly! read more

Honestly the food and service is amazing quality here but enter with caution! My little white tennis shoes were slipping with every step! Enjoyed our quick stop-in lunch to this authentic Mexican cuisine! Yummm They take quality and QUANTITY seriously here. Our server was very kind and was consistently checking to ensure we didn't need anything. Chips were house made and exactly what you would need for a thick quality house-made guac. Chicken fajitas were SIZZLING! So gracious and tasty Tacos: both asada and carnitas were very tasty. Missed the piña though **sad face. Check em out! read more
Tried this restaurant for the first time this week and it did not disappoint. We ordered food to go and had a drink at the bar while we waited. The drinks were so cheap, and the margarita was strong! They gave us complimentary chips and salsa while we waited. I think the salsa was the best part of the whole meal, it was delicious. For dinner we got a variety of tacos and ceviche. The tacos were a bit dry, but they sent us home with a ton of sauces so we made it work! read more

Nice restaurant, clean and very friendly staff. The food was amazing and a lot for what I paid, but the flavor, how soft and well-seasoned the meats were, it makes you want more. I loved the decorations, tables and chairs. I enjoy going there whenever I am in the area. There is live music that I enjoyed so much. Worth it. read more

Above and beyond service. The food was great, and a good amount of meat in the tacos. And the music was great in fitting the ambience of an authentic Mexican restaurant. read more
Think big plates of delicious Mexican food at small prices. We had the Beef Milanesa, the Mole Chicken Enchiladas, and two sopes - one with chorizo and one with Pastor - along with a side of roasted nopales (cactus paddles) and jalapeños. The margarita was large and, according to my wife who didn't let me try it, very good. They have Bohemia beer which I haven't seen in a long time and was still as good and refreshing as I remember. We love authentic Mexican food and we found it here. The only critique is they may need to raise their prices. Either way, we will be back. read more

Food is always huge portions and satisfying. Mariachis are always a fun entertainment while you eat. Food is reasonably priced for the portion sizes you gett. Today I only got the Tenampa sampler because I wasn't very hunger, but that even proved to be too much for me. This was just the appetizer. Main dishes are massive and flavorful. Beers are great as well. Love cominng back to thiS place. It does fill up quick and people stick around for a while to enjoy the food, the conversation, and the mariachis playing.. the wait can be a quiet long if you don't get in first. #attorneywithanappetite read more
So so gooood!! Real, seasoned mexican food! I always struggle to find a place that makes authentic mexican dishes, this is it! And im so glad it's so close to my job! The food is tasty, the servers are friendly and the prices are hard to beatwe had beers, appetizers and 2 entrees and everything came out around $60 (tip included). They start you off with some chips and salsa, I ordered a side of guac and OMG, it was great!! You can taste tell right away they make it right there, they also serve you the beer in frozen beer mugs which I loved. I highly recommend this little place, I also loved the designs on the table and chairs, coming back next week! read more
We were in search of some amazing Mexican food in the area. This little gem was legit! Not only was the decor superb, the service was A+. They were attentive, and very friendly. We had the birria tacos- HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! They are super flavorful, and filling. Juicy tender pieces of beef, with all the ooey gooey cheesiness. Then topped with onions and cilantro and. Dip those bad boys in the consome- WOWWW! Just wow! Next up to the loaded nachos! HUGE portions! I'm talking, they can easily feed 4 people! Steak, cheese, jalapeños, beans, guacamole.... Etc etc!! We also had a gigantic wet burrito. Loaded with steak, chicken, and cheese. Rice and beans on the side or in the burrito it's up to you. Nonetheless, this spot is the real deal! Hit it up if you're in the area! read more
We were looking for some authentic Mexican food while vacationing in Orlando. One of my friends found El Tenampa was close by to where we were staying. It's located in a strip mall, but being that most restaurants in Orlando were, we decided to give it a shot. The ambience was a little bit of a downer; it's like sports bar meets Mexican restaurant. Although they had flat screens only the Dish logo was displayed without any programming. Maybe it was the low ceilings but the place felt kinda dingy. The menu is busy, but the server was great at giving more details and suggestions. I ordered the wet burrito (vegetarian style), so it was supposed to contain rice and beans. I opted out of the vegetables. When I received the order it was essentially a burrito filled with steamed vegetables. The server was good to replace it, since it didn't have the beans or rice inside. Even though they got it right the 2nd time I should've just kept the initial order. The vegetables looked fresh and had great color and variety. Unfortunately the rice and beans in the replacement order were dry and lacked freshness. The rice even included parts that were obviously stuck to pot at some point. The chips for table were dark brown; tasted like the oil needed to be changed and cooked less. The cheese dip was tasty and ample for a group of 4 people. The server was also friendly and professional. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I expected a lot better in terms of taste and quality. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, ad it was the best decision EVER! Karen was our server, she was extremely polite, explained every dish we had a question! We ordered Tenampa Steak and Steak and Shrimp. On the Tenampa steak, it was a generous portion, it was juicy and the flavor on the meat was amazing! The steak and shrimp was 10 shrimps on the side of a really good size steak! It was flavorful as well. We also ordered margaritas, they were good too (my husband does not drink tequila, and he finished his first!!!) Queso fundido was good and the quality of the chips!!!!! Out of this world! I will definitely be recommending you to eat here, my fav food is Mexican food (allergic to spicy food) and this was the only place that was true to not spicy if not requested. Karen was really concerned as in the look out for my allergies! Desert (even when we couldn't do anything more.... We needed to try them!!!). We ordered Flan and Tres Leches: flan had a great consistency not extremely sweet (which we loved) Tres leches and the caramel cake will have to be tasted at home! It was a lot of yummy food!!!! Come try this place! We will be traveling just to eat here again! read more

Is this the same company/food as the location on 4565 W Irlo Bronson Memorial? I love that place but it is SO tiny inside and you always have to wait.
Yes
Is it good for a group of about 30 people?
It's a small restaurant, but I'm sure if you call ahead they can arrange their tables to seat two rows of 15 possibly.
