Honestly this restaurant has become our favorite local Mexican food restaurant! The food is always fresh , fast and full of flavor!! We love the melty goodness on the steak burrito, the Texas rice is amazing and full of meat and is a huge portion. They recently remodeled and added a full and expanded bar. Very nice and inviting. I had the steak quesadilla which had huge chunks of meat and veggies (diced smaller would be nice), my coworkers got the fajitas and enchiladas both said they were good. Good portions. While I'm not a fan of their cheese enchilada (the cheese is too runny even when cold, it almost seems like a cheese sauce is used instead of actual cheese), I do love their vegetarian chalupa and bean burrito...exceptional! Ask for soft taco got hard taco and the ground beef had no seasoning at all. Like they slapped ground beef is a hard shell and put cheese in it and wrapped it up. The chulupa was the same. No taste. My family of four was seated immediately around 8:30 on a Tuesday. Though we were hangry when we arrived we were very full and happy when we left. Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly albeit a bit slow. It was not busy. The atmosphere was so basic I can't recall anything unique but it was totally fine, clean and organized. Honestly such an amazing Mexican restaurant local to Orlando. Their deals are great, food is beyond tasty, and the service is classic Mexican restaurant service: so fun and hospitable! I'm not sure why I waited so long to try El Potro, but that wasn't a great choice. The place is excellent! In traditional fashion, the meal began with chips and salsa, which were perfect. The salsa had a bit of a punch in certain bites, so definitely watch out if you're not a spicy fan. After that we tried many different tacos and they were all full of flavor and very hearty. Our usual favorite Mexican restaurant is Agave Azul. However, recent changes such as charging for chips and salsa, raising prices, and the condensing of their menu with several favorite items of mine no longer available, has made me interested in trying more places. I had been to El Potro once before a few years ago, and since it is across the street from Agave Azul, I thought we could head that way and make our final decision when we neared closer. With agreement from my friends, we decided to give El Potro a chance and have dinner there tonight. The ambiance is very casual and comfortable. We felt at home here. The service was also great. Our server (I believe her name is Stephanie) was very kind and attentive. I want to apologize here because while I tipped above 20%, my bill was low so my tip was not very impressive. On my drive home, I reflected on it and felt guilty. Next time, I will do better, so I apologize. Our server was wonderful. We were served complimentary chips and salsa and as our bowl neared empty, our server asked if we wanted more which we said yes to! The salsa has a great amount of spice to it and the chips tasted fresh. Our waters were topped off timely as well. The queso dip appetizer we ordered was also yummy. So many menu options which was exciting! For my entree, I got a cheese quesadilla with beans and rice. While the beans and rice were just okay, my quesadilla really hit the spot! It's a simple tasty classic. My friends enjoyed their meals as well (spicy watermelon rita, supreme burrito with shrimp, half order chimichanga). At the end of our meal, our server asked if we wanted dessert. We were stuffed but want to try something next time! I also want to get a margarita next time too because I tasted my friend's and it was delicious! Another bonus: the prices here are absolutely refreshing! Came here for dinner while on the way from the airport to our airbnb and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! I was starving and everything that we ordered absolutely hit the spot. They let my cousin bring her dog to the outside table and brought the pup a bowl of water when we asked for it. Pretty extensive menu with lots of combination platters and a la carte food. It's a table service restaurant with a full bar you can mosey up to. Server was friendly and on top of things. The portions were more than enough. They give a free serving of chips and salsa with purchase. The salsa is tasty without being too spicy for those folks who have a timid tongue. Came to this location for the first time on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is big and had a lot of big parties , but we didn't have to wait. Our server was great, attentive and friendly. This location is away from the Orlando madness and had a nice family vibe to it with nice music and great environment. I had a margarita sangria which was not my favorite (next time I'll stick to one or the other). They give you a complementary first round of chips and salsa (the salsa had a kick to it) and I ordered a side of queso which also had a spicy kick to it. For dinner I had the steak burrito. It was ok , definitely was not a fan kinda boring flavors. So...I ordered 1/2 of the chimichanga plate (beef) and my 11yo ordered a lunch #7. When it came out it didn't look like much however, the need was on point. It reminded me of the barbacoa I use to run and get at every chance in El Paso, TX. There was no fat or ligaments and all that other stuff when you get shredded beef that is from a bad cut. You know, the kind where you take a bite and you want to spit it out. It was soooooo good so don't let the look of blandness fool you. My daughter says..."it was very good. We stumbled upon this gem on pure luck. We searched for a Mexican restaurant near by and this restaurant popped up. It is a little Authentic Mexican restaurant located on the corner of this plaza in kirkman. It may not look like much but it's truly the best Mexican I've had and I just had amazing Mexican on Wednesday haha. First of all we had no clue Mexican buffets existed let alone did we know we were at one. $15 for all you can eat Mexican. This special goes on through out the week at lower prices too. Sundays lunch is $12 and weekdays lunch is around $10. We all opted for the buffet and ordered some bogo drinks. Yes they even had Buy one get one free drinks. Either Sangria or Margarita were bogo and they were absolutely delicious. They then brought us fresh nachos with homemade salsa. The buffet was absolutely incredible. All the dishes were hot and fresh. It was like ordering as many plates of amazing Mexican as we wanted. They had every popular dish you could imagine such as enchiladas, tacos, tamales, burritos, fajitas, beans, rice and so much more. There was also fresh fruit, toppings galore and some desserts. My baby even enjoyed the music and food as well. The buffet remained stocked with fresh food the entirety of our visit. Last but not least the service here was impeccable with the most polite servers. They were attentive and made sure our table was always clear. I wish I could remember our primary servers name. He was marvelous. The restaurant was very clean and decorated in a warm, homey feel. Overall it was an incredible experience and we will all be coming back many times. read more

There is much to like about this business. The medium size chicken soup is delicious and abundant. So much shredded chicken you may be inclined to say a prayer for the chickens lost in the making.
