I ordered the Sweet & Spicy Meatball Sub and added some veggies on top, and it was hands down the best version of this sandwich I've ever had. You can't go wrong when ordering from Firehouse subs. As a true sub lover, firehouse is most often my go to. I was glad to hear that when moving to the area, there was one close by. We have been here several times and, truthfully, have never had a bad experience. I always order the Italian sub because I like my subs warm - which they always are. The staff is always attentive and quick to get my order together. If you haven't joined the points system - make sure to do so, because you can get free subs! The only thing that I don't necessarily love about this specific location (and it's not their fault at all, which is why I didn't dock their review) is the crows outside. I am deathly terrified of birds and these birds are ALL over their tables on the outside. This is unfortunate because my husband and I love to meet for lunch there and bring our dogs with us. Meh Came here because I had a free medium Hook & Ladder sub offer. I only ate half of the sandwich. I got it as is as the offer didn't allow customization. The only thing I would have omitted was the turkey since I'm not a fan however in this sub it was the ham I wasn't fond of. It says honey ham but it tasted more like smoked ham. The white bread was kind of dry. It's difficult to judge this place based on one free sandwich especially since I wouldn't have ordered that particular one. Solid branch. Staff are polite & speedy, despite its popular location. They are now selling the buckets they get their pickles in for $3 (5 gallon buckets). The smell does linger, but as long as you replace the lid it dissipates after a thorough cleansing & about a week to air out. I hadn't been to a Firehouse Subs in years. My fiancé and I were in town and were craving a good quality sub. We were driving by this Firehouse and decided to come inside and check out the menu. Upon entry we were greeted by a very welcoming team. As we took some time to look over the menu, a very upbeat and cheerful woman proceeded to ask us if we had any questions and when I asked she seemed delighted to help guide me in the right direction. The whole team seemed to be in good spirits and made the atmosphere delightful. We grabbed our seats and took a moment to soak in the shop. I felt a sense of community and appreciated that a portion of the proceeds went back to help our first responders! Andrea came and brought us our subs and man did they look delicious. I got the brisket and cheddar and it was so juicy. My fiancé got the turkey bacon ranch and she was a huge fan. We also got an order of the Mac n cheese..... WOW! It was amazing. Not what you would expect from a sub shop. There was even bread crumbs to top it off! Everything was so amazing I just needed one last thing to solidify my review. The worse experience ever with customer service. To the chubby Hispanic cashier with the cross eyes actually made an aloud comment " oh lord" when my mom was asking questions about the menu. So I normally love firehouse subs! I got a small sub and I had one piece of ham and one piece of turkey on the sub. Not sure if that's all the small allocates but I swear I'm the past it was more so it was like eating a sub roll. I went around 6:00 pm. It's the same as most other firehouse sub shops, so if you've been to one, you've been to this one. All their subs are toasted, they have lots of hot sauces on display, though you can't use most of them as almost all the bottles are empty. The food we got (turkey club and hook & ladder) tasted fine. A combo is about $8 per person. The service was SLOW. They were not very busy, maybe 8 customers there, and I waited for 15 minutes to get my food after ordering. I've been to other Firehouse subs and they are a little faster, but as far as sandwich shops go, Firehouse is significantly slower than any others I've been to (Quiznos, Subway, Roly Poly wraps, Gator Subs, Jimmy Johns...). As always in Winter Garden Village, parking is hit or miss-- you might get a spot right in front, or have to do some hiking and park further away. Take your money down the road to Gator Subs on McGuire if you want better service, lower prices, and better food. read more

The way the store is layer out, it makes it hard to see where the line ended and it just looked like a bunch of people standing around... but once we found the 'end' of the line, we waited out turn. I've been to a few Firehouse restaurants in the past so I am familiar with how it works. When we entered through the door, no one said the familiar , "welcome to firehouse " greeting. The floors and tables we're dirty from previous visitors. The ice machine was out of ice. My mother had ordered a sandwich without lettuce, but they had put lettuce on it. That was however fixed. I have never seen, despite how busy the store is, no one out in the front, wiping off tables or sweeping the floors. I would rather wait a little longer for my food, than to sit in a dirty restaurant eating it. It leads one to assume that the back of the house may not be clean either. We stumbled in here since we were starving after our flight from Chicago. We had no intention of coming here, I was just sick of Five Guys and Panera. This is now one of my bf's favorite fast food places. The subs here are ridiculously good, all but two are prepared hot. I'm used to the typical cold (literally) cuts so I was pleasantly surprised to find the turkey in my Turkey Cranberry sub to be warmed up - looks like they have a steaming machine. Subs have been coming out at a SNAIL'S PACE. With almost no line, I would have expected the subs to take just a few minutes to make. We ordered two medium subs, and still didn't have food after 45 minutes. I've watched people who came in after me get their food before me, and I was sitting there hungry. Really confused why the food was taking so long to come out, and why orders were coming out of order. For a quick-service restaurant, this was perhaps the slowest service I've ever experienced. I will not be returning to this location again, and I probably will not return to any Firehouse Subs after this poor experience. I lost a whole hour of my life waiting for two subs that never came. Usually I order online and pick up the food to bring home but Sunday we stopped in and ate there. Let me add my order has always been ready on time. We had a nice meal here. Order was ready quick and the sandwiches are always good. I highly recommend the Ms Vickies Sea Salt and Vinegar chips, they are really good. However, tonight while picking up a couple of sandwiches I was greeted with nothing but a ton of sorry attitude. While ordering my sandwiches the "manager" stood with his hands in his pockets, no eye contact whatsoever, and punched in my order with the pen he just took out of his mouth. When my order was ready, nothing was said, just the two sandwiches I ordered were literally tossed onto the table. As I sat there stunned that this guy was acting this way, he yelled "you are very welcome" , while walking away in a very condescending manner. Then got home with the sandwiches to only bite into very stale bread. There are literally 100's of other restaurants to choose from, and I can assure you I will go elsewhere from now on.
