The inside is very small, and there are only a few tables to sit, but I love how cozy it is and how fun the decorations are. I felt like I was stepping into a European pub. You order at the counter and then they bring it to you. There was only one man working behind the counter doing everything. He was super nice and very helpful in giving recommendations. Kudos to him for doing it all and making sure food got out in a timely manner. They have one German beer on draft, the Bitberger. Very light, delicious German beer. They have a good selection of bottles and cans too, and a few wine options. I ordered a Dukas flatbread. It sounded so different and interesting, and it certainly was. It was messy and fun, and very tasty. My only critique: I just wanted more bratwurst, and a bit more toppings overall. My friend got the Die Behrens. I usually don't like schnitzel, but I had a bit and thought the combo of flavors was pretty good. Nice new little German delicatessen located in downtown Winter Garden. They serve a wide variety of traditional German sandwiches with a twist. They serve some. Ice German beers, one on tap for a cold, tasty draught. German potato salad or other sides complete the meal. Good size portions. Interesting shop. They show German and Premier League football.(soccer) games also. I didn't ask a lot of questions of the gentleman behind the counter, but I took him to be the owner, operator and chief bottle washer. He seemed kind of preoccupied even though there were only a few customers. My turkey sandwich was well constructed with a nice medley of flavors. I would prefer more fresh ingredients and in house roasted meats. That's just my preference and does not deter me from recommending this place. Plentiful portions of tasty food. read more

Despite this being in downtown Winter Garden the parking is plentiful! When I walked in there was a lovely lady playing the accordion. So delightful. I did not use the restroom so I can't speak to that. I ordered a Das Munchen, which is a schnitzel sandwich. It came with a side item (much I could select) - I chose German potato salad. For dessert I ordered a Black Forest Roll. Again, both possessed an excellent taste. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is tough on the wallet (aka expensive). I ordered the port schnitzel sandwich. Thought I would order one of the more popular items. I've had pork schnitzel many times at various German restaurants in the past. How can you mess up this dish? First of all it comes on a pretzel bun. When it arrived the pretzel bun is not much larger than a dinner biscuit so most of the pork is outside of the bread. The taste? It had a strange flavor to it that wasn't at all tasty. Hard to describe but on the bitter side. It came with a little container of spaetzle on the side. That was ok but a very small serving. It's also pretty expensive for what you get. The Willow Tree in Sanford is far superior. read more

We got the schweinibraten and deutcsh dip along with the spicy Mac and butter spaetzle. The spaetzle was some of the best I've had and the spicy Mac is great but very spicy. First, at $21 for a sandwich you would expect a decent amount of pastrami, but maybe it had two thin slices of meat that was mostly chewy fat. There is nothing better than a pastrami sandwich This place has an amazing sandwich that is loaded with a unique flavored pastrami almost like it was slightly smoked. The fat to meat ratio was on point and the spicy mustard on it was fantastic. The portion was big enough to share for lunch and you would still walk away full. I am a fan we sampled 3 items as a take out order. Schnitzel, pastrami, and bratwurst are all very good (had some gristle in the schnitzel...but gristle happens). They were very authentic and had superb flavor. The sides were very divisive while we liked the vinegar tang of the German potato salad we were not fans of the pepper flavor of the Mac and cheese. Just had lunch for first time at Schweini's... there were three of us. I had the Deutsch Dip which is their version of a French dip. Plenty of pastrami with braised onions, melted Muenster cheese on a garlic hoagie services w/au jus (which is really brown gravy). It comes with a side and I chose the spaetzl. We also order the Muller which has pastrami with the braised onions, pickled red cabbage, Muenster cheese and mustard. This came with German potato salad. And the last meal was Die Behrens which is pork schnitzel on a pretzel roll with lingonberry compote and lemon arugula. All three meals were very good and served hot and promptly. They don't have their beer/liquor license yet so you can only get nonalcoholic beverages right now.
