Mushroom risotto
Aimee B.

Was in for dinner on 12/4 and was excited to try some of the items. We decided to share the mushroom risotto and the new beef burger. The risotto was delicious and more mushroom than rice - which is totally what I prefer. Lots of great flavors! The burger was absolutely amazing. The candied bacon and the mustard seeds were perfectly layered for flavor in every bit. I am already thinking about my next trip in for that burger. The service and management were around the restaurant and very friendly and attentive. They are doing some renovations, but the space is still large and inviting.

Chef Gabor promises a fresh take on Alpine comfort food. His new venture includes menu items from Gabor's previous restaurant, Schmankerl Stub'n German Scratch Kitchen along with the new dishes that represent his Bavarian upbringing. Presently they are in a soft opening as the menu and some of the decor takes shape in their new space. This location on McGuire previously housed Rusteak Ocoee and most recently Bella Tuscany. I drove by and saw all the cars so I made a U turn and made plans for dinner. They were busy and the parking lot was full on a weeknight. They were in a soft opening as the restaurant opened mid July 2025. I had a short wait and then I was seated. My server was attentive and I experienced excellent service and did not feel rushed. I had the pork loin with mushroom and cream gravy which came with a choice of side and I chose the butter spaetzle. My comfort food was very tender with a rich flavorful gravy. So good and unfortunately taking a photo was an afterthought. The menu has an uncluttered layout of three columns which has an appealing design. The entree name in the first column followed by the accompaniments and sauces. The last column is the price. Appetizer and salads are $10-$20. Entrees including pasta is $18-$45 and side items are $8. Good portions at a reasonable price. I look forward to trying more new items like the ricotta-spinach ravioli and Riesling chicken.

I have seen them at some of the food events in Winter Park and Thorton Park. I really enjoyed what they had, so I had to visit them at their restaurant. I went on a Saturday evening. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and seated to the bar area that I requested. Food and drink menu were provided and I took the suggested tin drum (16 dollars) cocktail drink. It looked like an old fashioned, but tasted a bit more bitter. It was also decorated nicely. But best of all, it was very strong that I would have chanted tiki toki if they had a live polka band. For my entree, I tried the pork schnitzel (22 dollars) with cucumber salad as the side. The pork was pounded nicely, still being tender. The breading was just enough and fried just right. The lingonberry sauce provided the right amount of sweetness. The cucumber salad was a bit soggy, but still very enjoyable. The dill added was just right. It almost tasted like a pickle, but in a very good way. The portions were quite generous, but the food was light enough that I could finish the whole thing. For dessert, the cheesecake (12 dollars) was rich that I did take some of it home. I could tell it was homemade as it had the right amount of vanilla beans for the flavor. There were a lot of blueberries and sauce, but it still complimented nicely. I am glad I took some home so my mom could also enjoy, but I may finish it the next day if there are still some left. The service was excellent. My bartender was very friendly and provided me great suggestions. He explained the story about the restaurant and owner. He also talked to other guests as it was not busy at all. The dining area is only on the right side, and looks like the left area is not used yet. That wasn't a problem at all as there wasn't much of a crowd. It was pretty quiet that the soft DJ boots and pants (remember from the GEICO pig commercial?) like music were playing in the background. This restaurant is quite underrated, and deserves more recognition. I know most people go to the famous Hollerbachs in Sanford for great German food, but Alpine Bar and Grill still deserves a try as well. The food is really good and the cocktails are amazing. Maybe if they can get a live German band to play as well, then more patrons can visit and enjoy such amazing German food! Prost! Overall: A

We were excited to try a new German inspired restaurant. It is in the soft opening phase and unbeknownst to us, reservations are recommended. We did not have any so we sat at the bar and Abby took very good care of us. She is amazing and a hard worker so she definitely deserves kudos. We started with the pretzels with cream cheese and, unfortunately, the onion was so overpowering, I was unable to enjoy it. The pretzels are soft and tasty and did well alone. That item is a one and done for us. For our entree, we shared the chicken schnitzel with fries. It was so tender and tasty and the fries were crispy on the outside but cooked to perfection. For dessert, we went with the cheesecake with blueberries. This was the star of the meal and truly incredible. The inside is still the same as it was before and apparently they still have work to do before the grand opening. All in all, it was enjoyable and we will return.

Wanted to try out the new German style restaurant in Ocoee on the corner of Maguire Road and old Winter Garden Road. Staff was super friendly when you first come in but seating is limited on the right side of the restaurant only. So the service was pretty quick for a Friday night. We ordered the pretzel sticks as our appetizer with the pretzel being fluffy and crispy on the outside though the cheese spread that was given to us was fresh out of the refrigerator and too hard to spread on our pretzel sticks. But the flavor was good. My husband ordered the veal schnitzel while I went with the standard pork schnitzel and both were impressed on how perfectly cooked they were with a light breading on top. They're both served with Lingonberry sauce on the side with side item of your choice. My husband went with the standard french fries that were nicely crispy, fresh, thick like steak fries. I went with buttered spatzle that was, plain overall. I did ask for the upgraded Jager sauce with my pork schnitzel, but was not impressed to spend $10 for the upgraded Jager sauce. Drinks wise I ordered the black forest colada which was light and refreshing, but definitely had a sense of drinking potpourri and my husband did like that. They had his favorite whiskey at the bar that he ordered neat. Overall, our schnitzels were cooked perfectly and everything else was either a texture issue, or not appetizing or had little to no flavor.

Really enjoyed the food here!! The onion soup was very flavorful. My friend's tomato soup was not something I'd enjoy, had a bit of spice to it. The pretzel appetizer was decent - I liked the cheese but it probably wouldn't be something I'd order again. For entrees, I had the chicken schnitzel and the portion was huge! I also really liked it with the side of mushroom sauce. My friend had the pork schnitzel and also really enjoyed it. Each entree comes with 1 side of your choice, which are the same portions of you order individually. This was great because we were a group of 3 and each ordered a side to share. I think my favorite was the red cabbage. The spätzle was decent, but I have had better. The creamed spinach was also pretty good. For dessert we had the mascarpone cheesecake with blueberry topping which was really delicious! Highly recommend it. My partner tried a few drinks, I unfortunately don't remember the names but one was basically an espresso martini which was pretty good (we were told their brunch one is amazing), a drink similar to a pina colada, and then a fruiter drink. He seemed to like them all and the pina colada one was actually pretty good. Looking for to going back and trying some other items and perhaps their brunch!

Liked the Alpine restaurant so much we went back just a week later. Crushed that they didn't have the fondue anymore. Steak tartare was solid. Mushroom parfait is not a parfait at all, but terrific app. Onion soup also very good. Loads of Parmesan cheese on Caesar salad. Almost comical amount. Wagyu burger was simple and flavorful. With just ground mustard and burger sauce, it was tasty. Would be better with a thinner patty and tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese. Mushroom risotto was fantastic. Veal sausage was a little weak in flavor. Surprised pretzels and traditional brats not on menu. German beers were terrific (again).

We came for an early dinner during the week for the first time and we will definitely be back. While they are still undergoing reservations, we ate in the bar area and sat at a large booth that had plenty of room for our group. The service was wonderful where our server and the bar manager checked on us multiple times. All of the food we got was amazing which included the bread, tomato salad, goulash, schnitzel, black Forest cake, and cheesecake. Everyone loved their meal, including our pickiest eater, and the portions are huge which let us bring home plenty of leftovers. The food is all traditional German from the part of Germany the owner has ties to. Happy hour is only at the bar unfortunately but the drinks are picturesque and very strong. The highlights of the meal included the bread service which was super soft, the pork schnitzel which came with a yummy berry sauce, and the cheesecake which is honestly one of the best I ever had! We will definitely be back and highly recommend checking this spot out.

For larger parties, they will take your phone number and notify you when your table is ready so that your group can wander the shops nearby or grab a drink at The Lodge bar (part of Hollerbach's). There is a ton of seating both inside and outside, and at certain times there is live German music inside which is broadcasted outside on TV and speakers! One thing I was really impressed by was their ability to substitute sides. I substituted both of my sides for no extra charge. I highly recommend the German potato salad (warm kartoffelsalat) instead of French fries for a way more traditional schnitzel experience. The cucumber salad (gurkensalat), egg noodles with gravy (spätzle mit soße), and sauerkraut (sauerkraut) were all delightful as well! The atmosphere is lively, noisy, and fun (especially on the weekends) with people doing shotskis and passing around Das Boot!

Service was not the greatest without server, hard to get her attention for things. I got the paprikaschnitzel with heaven and earth potates and a salad. All great flavors and were really good. Only disappointment was the potato were a little dry and I needed some gravy for them. She got the schnitzel weiner art with potatoes and salad. Hers was really good too It's always a good time sitting inside with the music and singing. Can be a bit loud at times and hard to hear each other. But it was too hot to eat outside. Will definitely be back. Need to check out the upstairs rooftop patio area.

I was a bit early for my pickup, and while I waited I was even offered a water. It smells so incredible in here that I was already so excited for my meal. I ordered the Polish plate, because it's my first experience trying Polish cuisine. I wanted an opportunity to try many different dishes, and this plate included Golabki, Potato & Cheese Pierogis, Potato Pancakes, and one Polish Sausage. A friend of mine raved about his mother's golabki for years, so naturally I started my meal with that. Wow, it was incredible! It almost reminded me of a spaghetti dish with its vivid tomato flavor. I really love that the roll holds together well when you're eating it with a knife and fork. I'm going to ask my friend for a recipe because it seems like it would be a good go to meal. I think my next favorite item was the polish sausage. I do enjoy eating sausages, but sometimes I'm just not a fan of how some are seasoned. That wasn't a problem with this polish sausage, because it was delicious and flavored just to my liking. Now pierogis I have tried before, and I'm not sure if they are polish origin or a neighboring country, but I have always enjoyed them. These cheese and potato pierogis were exactly as I expected them. They were cooked well and stuffed with filling. I shared a few with my nephew who is a bit picky, and to our surprise he was enjoying them. I would definitely give another flavor option a try! The final item was the potato pancakes and I think they were cooked well, but I think I would have preferred a little more salt to bring out the flavor. I plan to research Polish food after this visit and see how each dish is usually eaten. There were 3 condiments that accompanied my meal, but I didn't use them. For the most part, each dish was delicious all on its own. The Polish plate is definitely enough to share between 2 people, and you'd probably have just enough room for dessert as well. I know the pistachio cheesecake will definitely see me, if I find myself in the Daytona beach area again! Thank you Dill Schnitzel & Pierogi House for an amazing first experience with Polish cuisine!

What a fun find! I was in town for a career fair and my friend said I should check this place out…read more It's in a bit of a weird spot in a mostly chain restaurant shopping area, but don't let that fool you! It was literally steps to the beach so that was nice to stroll out there before/after. After poking around some shops, I made my way upstairs to Dill! The place is cute and colorful! Loved the European decor! I was there on a Tuesday night and there were only 2 other tables sat so pretty dead at the time. Server was lovely, cheerful, and helpful! They don't have a full bar but do serve beer and wine so was able to get a glass of vino. I really wanted schnitzel and pierogies but unfortunately you can only get the pierogies by the dozen (unless you get the big combo meal which comes with 6 rogis and a shit ton of other food). Problem was, I had a 6am flight the next morning so no way I would be able to eat any leftovers. I asked if there was ANY way I could just get like 2 rogis and she unfortunately said no (I totally get it, but maybe add smaller options in the future!). So I went with a cup of borscht soup and the pork schnitzel. The soup was served hot (I've only ever had it cold) and was very good! The schnitzel was legit the biggest schnitzel I've ever seen in my life and it's a GOOD THING I didn't get rogis in addition to it lol. I immediately cut it in half and was only able to eat that much. I got the mushroom sauce too and that was so yummy with the schnitzel! The potatoes and slaw were very good too, loved how refreshing the slaw was!! You would never think to look for this kind of food in Daytona of all places, but it's definitely worth a stop! If I had anyone dining with me, I could see getting a few dishes to split because of how large the schnitzel was. Wonderful place with great service and delicious food, just wish I was able to try those rogis!

Our friends had the Wienerschnitzel and the Eisbein. Everything came out perfectly prepared and full of flavor.
