Don't skip this restaurant. Located on the water with a big parking lot out front, it's worth the quick drive to eat here. Seemed friendly for kids, dates, or even smaller groups. They don't take reservations. When we arrived they were busy, but no wait. We were sat quickly with. Waterfront view. The smoked fish dip was perfect. I got the Jager Schnitzel with a side of spatzle and it was seasoned perfect. The schnitzels were a little small themselves, but with the salad, bread, sides .... it's the right amount of food! We will definitely be back next time we are in town! read more

Our experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and the view of the sunset was beautiful. The staff were kind and on top of it. The potato pancakes were the closest thing I've had to my Oma's. Definitely recommend this place! It is a bit pricey, but it's worth a special occasion for sure. read more

straight up, beautiful location, right on the water. However, I will say very strange vibe to walk into not bad by any means but I didn't expect a restaurant on the water called coconut Café to be a German restaurant just a little strange, but the food was pretty good but Hella expensive and I'm not talking like a little bit like it was very expensive. I told my boyfriend to pay for his dinner, but then we split something because I didn't want to pay for him to have a whole meal. The servers were pretty OK, but didn't stand out to me, but like I said pretty view. read more

Amazing view, delicious food, very clean dining room, friendly staff. Everything was great, can't wait to come back with friends.

We love to go here for any special occasion. Food is delicious, service is always amazing and the restaurant is great for romantic dinners or intimate gatherings. We've tried lots of the dishes but my personal favorite is the Seafood schnitzel. The sugar snap peas as a veggie are crisp And flavorful. The smoked trout is a nice take on a fish based appetizer. We never leave without sharing a piece of the Black Forest cake. Somehow it's decadent and light at the same time. read more

What a great discovery. I have been visiting Melbourne for decades and never experienced Cafe Coconut. Typically people search for waterfront dining and think ocean, but if you want to experience beautiful sunsets Cafe Coconut's location on the river is the place to be. Be aware you will wait for a table as they do not take reservations and the food is slow to come out, but it is all worth the wait. A house salad is served consisting of greens, kidney beans, cole slaw, and a pickled beet. It's a perfect start to your dinner. I went with the braised pork shank with sauerkraut. It was cooked perfectly and what first appeared as a gigantic portion quickly disappeared from my plate. even the sauekraut was outstanding. My wife had the pork cutlet again perfectly cooked and presented. Go for the potato pancakes for the win. They have German beer on tap to make the whole experience authentic. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I can't wait until next year to return! read more

We enjoyed the ambience and the location which has a beautiful view of the Indian river/intercoastal. The interior is also decorated in a very warm and welcoming way. Service was very good and the waitress had a good understanding of the menu. The food was German fare, which is what we were looking for. It was fresh and the quality was good. The portions were generous as well,. The flavors were authentic, and the price was also fair. We would recommend if someone is looking for a change of pace and enjoys German food, e.g. pork shank, schnitzel, saurbraten, bratwurst, etc.. read more

Went for Mother's Day, my grandma is German and we wanted to take her somewhere nice. She wasn't crazy about her bratwurst but the rest of us had wonderful dishes. Potato pancakes were awesome! My grandmother absolutely loved the view and did not want to leave and take the drive back to Orlando. She loved how peaceful and nice the restaurant was. read more

Great hidden gem! Amazing views, excellent service and great German food. We started off with the smoked trout platter, it had everything you would want on there, smoked trout, pickled onions, hard boiled eggs, horseradish cream cheese, pickles, grape tomatoes, capers and came with three different kinds of toast/crackers. After we had appetizers while we waited for our main course we walked outside to see the beautiful sunset. Along with the sunset we had a show of dolphins, truly amazing. For our main course we had schnitzel and sauerbraten and a side of spatzle All tasted great! Only suggestion is to get a hard liquor license. It would have been great to have an after dinner drink. read more

DON'T GO. Worst place to eat. The food is horrible. Service is the worst; servers are not trained properly. Food takes over 45 minutes. Servers give you attitude whenever they feel like it. read more

We had a nice experience and the view of the bay was really lovely. We all started with the house salad and bread service which comes with all entrees. The salad wasn't anything special and I couldn't figure out the dressing but it was creamy. Our entrees included roasted pork shank, Wiener schnitzel with peppercorn sauce, goulash and breaded chicken breast. Everything was excellent including the side of spatzels, which were on the dense side. We ordered the Black Forest cake to go and it had almost no flavor, which was a disappointment. Service was good but the food does take some time to come out but the salads came out quickly. We would return as each entree was excellent. read more

Third time's the charm!!! First two tries to eat here didn't go as planned. First time, found them closed for vacation. Second time, issue with the hood in the kitchen. Super glad I made the third try. Service was prompt and friendly. Kaylee was very helpful. After 30 years in the high end catering business, we appreciate the attention to the little details. Breads came nice and hot with a fantastic compound herb butter soft enough to spread. We both agreed the house salad was one of the best we've ever had with a great combination of flavors and textures. The bride had the schnitzel with bernaise, I had the combo Jager schnitzel, sauerbraten and bratwurst. Again, everything was delicious, well-thought and professionally plated. Veg of the day was snap peas served family style and also perfectly cooked. Not normally dessert people but Kaylee successfully twisted arms. The missus opted for the chocolate cake and I went with the apple strudel. If you like chocolate, that's the one for you. I'm not a huge chocolate fan but even I loved that one. Apple strudel was amazing, nice and warm with some crunch in the pastry. Last part is the ambiance. Interior is reminiscent of an old country club fine dining room with amazing sunset water views. Silverware was polished and a proper fold to the napkins. This will be our new go-to when in the area. Sorry about the photo. The strudel was calling my name. LOL read more

Cafe Coconut Cove - Amazing apple strudel and chocolate cake!!! 6 stars - German Near Me - Melbourne Beach, Florida

We finally made it to Coconut Cove, it was a nice experience. The dining area was small(ish) and there was a short wait for a Saturday night. The setting was outstanding and we had a sunset / water view. Service was solid, this having a European menu means it's also not a fast meal. The entrees and bar selection were great. Nice draft Pilsner and a local beer on draft. All of the entrees were flavorful and the group enjoyed them. I had the flat iron steak that included aside of spicy bbq I wouldn't have thought to get. We found the appetizers and deserts a bit underwealming and pricey for the portions, I'll likely stick with entrees and a drink if we go back. read more

A hidden gem for sure! Kind of one of those places, despite the sign out on A1A, that you would probably drive by frequently and never spot! Went there, at my adult daughter's suggestion, with her and my son this past week. Their website bio says they have been there since 1987. Heavy German influence but a great varied menu. I chose a ribeye and it may have been one of the top 2 or 3 I have eaten in this part of the country since moving here in 1978 from Cape Cod. Terrific service from a smiling face. Do yourself a favor and give it a try! read more

Very disappointed that I drove 45 minutes after a friend recommended eating here. I verified on Yelp that it was open today. Get here and there is a sign they are on vacation. That's not a problem-- enjoy the break but please update your Yelp page if you're not open. It's a long drive. read more

Homey interior. Get there early for a window table with view of lagoon. Food always very good. I always get the wurst plate. Good coffee. Wish they would offer pint sized beer. Largest draft 13.5 oz. Service good. An Appetizer, couple beers and 2 entrees will cost about $100 with tip. read more

This is one of the best restaurants, the food is spectacular always top quality and one of the few places I try a new dish from each time.

Driving an hour, We tried this restaurant with our German friends. We love German food. We were not impressed with the food. While it was good it did not stand out. They open at 4:00 and we arrived at 4:45. It was packed by 5. Service was friendly (hard to judge) I think, as our server was wearing a mask. Probably one of the only places to eat for a distance. The meal was topped off by a beautiful sunset. Don't think we are in a hurry to go back. read more

Four of us went on a Tuesday night and the place was busy. We were seated immediately and our server, Colleen, was very attentive and friendly. I had the sauerbraten which was good, red cabbage was awesome, and the potato pancake was good. The downside was the table next to us. There was about 6 people seated and they brought their dog - inside the restaurant. I can see allowing that at a restaurant with outdoor seating but I don't think it should be inside. The dog was like a poodle mix and started barking at one point. It was clearly not a service dog and, I'm sorry, but even an emotional support animal should be more controlled than that. I'm disappointed that they allow this. Good food but questionable policies on animals in the restaurant. If I had an allergy, I would have walked out. read more

This was our first visit to Café Coconut Cove. The ambience was fantastic. The dining room lighting the setting on the water. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Brevard. It's a bit of a drive for us but worth it a couple of times a year. It has an eclectic menu with a heavy German influence. It's waterfront in a cool old house on the Indian River. Definitely a romantic spot for date night. My one and only complaint is they don't have a full bar. Beer and wine only. Although they have a nice selection. read more

This was one of the best meals I've had. I cannot rave enough about this place. It's German food and authentic, which is not for every one. But wow, it was amazing. This will be one of the more memorable meals I've had. Kudos read more

The Cafe Coconut Cove serves authentic German Cuisine. The restaurant is small, very popular and does not take reservations. It took about an hour to get seated but the time went quickly while we hung out on the dock and watched the sunset over the water. We started with homemade liver pate ($9.00), mushroom toast ($9.00) and potato pancakes. ($9.00) All of the appetizers were served freshly made and taste delicious. My favorite was the liver pate followed by the potato pancakes. For my entree I went with the traditional Wiener Schnitzel.($29.00) The lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned veal cutlet taste amazing and was exactly what I expected. The sugar snap peas served along side of the cutlet was the best that I have ever had. I could have made a meal out of just snap peas. The service was outstanding and the restaurant stayed crowded during my three hour dining experience. read more

My goal for this review was to take a picture of each dish and course; however, the food and the dining experience was so enjoyable, I totally forgot about the review! I've had a lot of German food through the years but none more enjoyable than Friday night's dinner! The bread was warm and fresh and the salad chilled and crispy. The seafood schnitzel was amazing and I can't say enough about the tenderness of the steak which practically melted in your mouth. I had the mushroom gravy with mine which I would definitely order again. The view is perfect for a sunset dinner. It was extremely busy and I thought at first that the service might suffer, but I couldn't have been more wrong. A great dining experience. Next time, I'll add the photos..... read more
