After traveling to Italy and discovering guanciale, we've been on the hunt for an authentic local Italian restaurant that serves this delicious specialty. When I found out Manzzo had it on the menu, we made reservations for Saturday night. The design of the restaurant is upscale, yet still casual (but not too casual). I also fell in love with Aperol Spritzes while in Italy, so as soon as I spotted one on the drink menu, I knew I had to order it. I was initially excited to see it listed at $8, only to realize later that was the weekday happy hour price. Oh well--it was still delicious, and I probably would have ordered it anyway. We started with the Arancini appetizer--crispy fried rice balls filled with rich lamb ragù. The cheese flavor was bold and perfectly complemented the savory filling, making for a fantastic start to the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, while my partner chose the Tagliatelle all'Amatriciana. Both featured guanciale, which was exactly what we'd been craving. After noticing the enormous crispy breaded chicken breast at the neighboring table, I decided to add one to my pasta. It was so large that we were easily able to share it between the two of us. Both pasta dishes were outstanding and instantly brought back memories of our trip to Italy. The homemade pasta had a wonderful texture, the sauces were rich and velvety, and the guanciale was perfectly crispy, adding incredible flavor to every bite. Combined with the generous portions and authentic flavors, Manzzo delivered exactly the Italian experience we'd been searching for. The service we received from Leo was excellent, too. Gaby was great! Super attentive and so sweet!!! It was my first time, during magical dining and the food was good. I was a little disappointed that the special was sold out. Especially when the other options were seafood (which I don't eat) and mushroom risotto (which I don't eat). No other options were provided. The octopus was very good as well as the grilled chicken with fettuccine Alfredo. As others have mentioned, it's a little weird. They don't serve bread with their food. We went early and even with nobody there the service wasn't very good. It seemed like the waitress was new and unsure how to take care of us. The ambience is very nice although I would assume it would be very loud when the restaurant is full. I have had their pizza takeout before and their pizza is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. They are overpriced and trying to be fancy because they are in Windermere. Have never heard of this restaurant but, since they were participating in magical dining we decided to try them. First they were out of one of their appetizers. The demi glaze sauce they used comes out of a bag. My citrus reduction was very salty and my risotto was undercooked. The sauce to fettuccine ai Frutti di Mare was too watery. They serve their drinks in small thin glasses and their sodas come from a small can. They charge for a refill of tea. For dessert the custard in the Mille-Feuille was dry like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for awhile. The Torta Al Cioccolato was tiny with one scoop of ice cream. Their flan was weak and just tasted like eggs and condensed milk with no attempt to enhance the flavor. Before we even tasted the food I knew we wouldn't be coming back. read more

I have been 4 times to Manzzo since we moved from Miami to Orlando one year ago and have always liked the food... Today we decided to try their "Orlando Magical Dinning Menu" which is a seasonal special event with several restaurants participating offering a special fixed price and menu... It was a major disappointment! Appetizer super small, seafood pasta with tomato sauce flavorless, not a place I am excited to go back any time soon. I recently visited Manzzo Cuisine and was really impressed. The service stood out right away everyone was attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel relaxed without being over the top. The restaurant itself feels a little more elevated than your typical Italian spot in the area. It has a nicer, date-night-worthy atmosphere while still being comfortable enough for a casual dinner. I also appreciated the Brazilian-Italian twist on the menu it makes the experience feel unique compared to standard pasta restaurants. Overall, between the great service and the polished ambiance, this is definitely somewhere I'd come back to when I'm looking for a nicer night out in Windermere. read more

Saturday night, looking for some place for dinner want to go somewhere we haven't been before and somebody had recommended Manzzo. When we arrived, we didn't even get a hello - just "do you have a reservation?" We didn't and asked if we could be accommodated. After an eye roll, she played on the tablet and we were seated in the back. Please keep in mind that at this time - there were only there other tables with people. Our server was friendly and she did a great job checking in on us through-out the meal. I got the salmon dish - it was ok. Salmon was under seasoned. The mashed potatoes were delicious. I also got the white sangria. There was entirely too much strawberry in it as it wasn't slices, it was muddled so when you tried to drink through a straw, it plugged the straw. And when you tried to take a sip directly from the glass, there was so much of it that it basically blocked any of the wine or the liquid coming out. My husband got the filet and gnocchi dish. The filet was small but he said it was good. The gnocchi was tasty but very filling. The music that was being played in this location was entirely too loud. Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience.. nice place and environment. The food was decent... good taste.. The service really really needs some improvements. My first appetizer took almost 40 minutes. While the second appetizer came almost on top of the other one ( timing matters) Surprised because wanted to change the pasta for risotto (Frutti DMare) and it was very disappointing the way it was managed. Based on the manager the cheff was unable to change the pasta for risotto. Instead they placed an order of the shrimp risotto and brought me an order of mussels, I guess they want me to mix them by myself on the table, I don't know!! , very disappointing Personally I think need a lot of training if they want to have an upscale Italian restaurant in Windermere The service in the bar by Lucas was very good... thank you friend. read more

The environment is nice, they have a nice menu, but too expensive. Service was great. Arancini was good. Filet mignon with gnocchi was very good, but truffle oil made it bad. Risotto and ribs, ribs were amazing, melt in the mouth, but risotto was bad. I couldn't eat. I think it was saffron, when too much is added, tastes like soap. Lava cake was amazing! read more

This is a lovely interior design for a restaurant--definitely upscale. Considering that, lunch prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, the food and service don't live up to that promise. Service started off weird with an icy greeting from Wednesday Addams at the front desk, who had to disappear to check if our table was ready (note that the restaurant was empty when we arrived at 12:30). Indeed it was. And yet although the restaurant remained sparsely populated throughout our lunch, and despite six front-of-house employees, somehow things seemed ragged and sluggish. Caesar salads were good, and my wife enjoyed her beef carpaccio, although it was a rather unusual preparation with no oil; but the accompanying rosemary-seasoned toasts were excellent. Chicken Marsala was pretty much completely flavorless--odd because it looked good, and the sauce had the right consistency, but just nothing going on. In sum, it was a completely average experience. I agree with a lot of the reviews on the good and "needs work" things about this restaurant. GREAT THINGS things (bravo and please continue): your bartender makes THE BEST NEGRONIS I will come back just for that. Also great, our server was very attentive and pleasant, also the manzzo pizza and pasta funghi were very good. Things that need work: your hostess is very snobbish , unfriendly and cold. Really need a warmer welcome please (we almost left because it was so off putting). The prices are HIGH for dinner. The tiramisu was tasty but a little too much cocoa powder on top had me coughing up cocoa dust for the half hour following dinner. Very nice atmosphere however it can get a bit loud. I ordered TAGLIATELLE ALL'AMATRICIANA. Which was delicious, my husband got the FETTUCCINE AI FRUTTI DI MARE- he thought it was good. We like bread with our pasta and was disappointed in the bread serving. This is a nice addition to Westside Shoppes. This is a big step above the nearby fast food and casual dining restaurants. The decor is contemporary and well done except for the unfortunate placement of a couple of emergency bug eye lamps. My OCD didn't allow me to stop looking at them. The service was friendly and patient with our group. They helped us with our diet restrictions. For appetizers, we had Margherita pizza and Patatine Millefoglie. Both were crispy and delicious. The potatoe dish was new to me. It looked and tasted like an elevated fry with a generous amount of butter and cheese. My entree was octopus. Generally, I avoid it because it is never made well, but I took a chance and it was worth it. For once, a received a good portion of a tentacle. It was tender. The ends were crispy and flavorful. The octopus was served with shallots, potatoes, and cherry tomatoes. Overall, I was happy with my meal. I finished the evening with a small latte. The dinner was pricy, but I found out the lunch menu is roughly half the cost. I will be coming back to try the lunch. read more

This is a wonderful Italian/Brazilian restaurant that is located in a medium sized shopping plaza. The pasta and pizza dough are all freshly made daily on site. I had the octopus entree, which was very tasty though swimming in a sea of melted butter. I tried a little bit of the pasta in mushroom sauce that one of my friends had and it was delicious and the freshness of the pasta stood out. The service was excellent and the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions for us to try. read more

We stumbled upon this exquisite location this evening - you HAVE to try Manzzo. There is nothing like it in the area. The second photo is our Moscow mule with a ginger foam ; my dirty martini, perfection. I have no notes, truly everything was amazing. We can't wait to visit again. The staff was amazing and very attentive. We sat at the bar and loved trying the recommendations of our bartender. The guava cheese dessert is rich and delicious as well. With a moody ambiance & classy decor this is a must visit place and honestly our new favorite near home. My husband and I tried a new to us restaurant and we were excited. Upon entering, the do you have a reservation came up. I asked is that a problem? On no, come this way. There were two tables in use. The lunch menu pricing was great. Now, without any introduction of himself, the order was taken. Marsala and chicken parm. We placed drink orders of ice tea and soda. While waiting for our meal another party was sat across from us, one of the party members broke out his phone dialed a friend and now the three +phone friend, carried on a loud conversation while he was draped across the table holding the phone. So annoying! The unknown staff member gave them the ugly stare, which I hoped he'd say something. No, he kept glaring every time he walked by. The unknown waiter served our food, never came back to check on us. My Marsala was bland, the sauce had little flavor, yet my husband's parm was fantastic with a great sauce. We ate with the bozos phone on and the room becoming very loud as other tables were in use.Our empty glasses sat lonely on the table without ever being offered or asked for refills. Considering the great lunch prices we were surprised when the food and service were not anything we expected from a restaurant with a lovely interior. Hallelujah, I've been lost and found! I've been searching in the wilderness that is Orlando Italian restaurants for the 25 years that I've lived here and I am so happy to proclaim from the rooftops that the new Manzzo's in "Windernear" is the first authentic Italian restaurant that I've found in Central Florida. I'm not saying Italian American, I'm saying Italian, like in Italy (not Newark). As someone not only of Italian heritage, but as someone who is lucky enough to travel to Italy somewhat frequently, I was so happy to dine at Manzzo's tonight. Yes, Amatraciana has guanciale in it (not bacon), yes Carbonara has eggs (not cream), and yes, the Tiramisu is not overly sweet. The wait staff is great, the atmosphere is a nice vibe and the wine list is good enough. The food is wonderful. We had a pasta dish (properly al dente) and a risotto (perfect!) tonight and it brought us back to Rome, I think Stanley Tucci would be proud to eat here. Even if the authenticity of the Italian food is not a concern to you (admittedly I am obsessed), I am sure that you will find Manzzo's to be the best restaurant on the west side of Orange County. Was so looking forward to trying this new place! Had a mixed experience: service was slow and the bar could not accommodate our requests for martinis because they were out of vermouth! We had the arancini, the meat and cheese plate and the shrimp risotto. Risotto was excellent with lots of well cooked shrimp. Loved the meat and cheese plate also-meats were very good quality. Arancini were tasty but needed some kind of sauce. I will give it a second try despite what looked to be a very disorganized bar and front of house staff.
