We came at 4:30 but was let in to get a drink at the bar. The bartender is sweet and knowledgeable. Come 5:00 we were seated come 5:25 we weren't even looked at. We nabbed Abby who was great and was our waitress for the duration. Immediately she brought us bread, drinks, took our order did this while caring for at least 3 other tables. Ambiance is okay. A little noisy in the dining room but comfortable. The food came ! Yay! The prime rib was a special tonight! Lean and beautiful. Saving leftovers for a great stew this week . All in all it wasn't terrible. Just aggravating when your hungry

The restaurant is really nice and comfy. They have booths and tables and a bar. Their menu includes German cuisine and American dishes. We were sat right away and chose a booth. Abby was a wonderful server! She discussed the salad and soup along with various dishes since this was our first time. We ordered the mushroom crab appetizer which was good. DH ordered the Jager schnitzel in pork and it came with potatoes (he chose German potatoes) and cabbage. I ordered the 16 oz prime rib which came with potatoes. We got the soup and I added the salad. The soup was amazing and the salad which was only tomatoes, cabbage and cucumber. Each one was marinated in different marinades and it was good. The prime rib was tasty and tender. DH was so very happy with all his food!!! The German potatoes were fantastic! We even ordered dessert to take home. He ordered peanut butter pie and I ordered cheesecake. Delicious! We'll definitely be back!!

Our friend begged us to come here for months, and I'm so glad we finally made it! What a hidden gem to those of us not from DeLand. The salad and potatoes alone are worth it, but everything was excellent!

Stopped in for a quick bite during lunch. It's an older establishment with a decidedly 'central Florida' feel. Ordered an 'American' dip a.k.a. French dip and a Haddock sandwich. Apparently it was American Monday due to it being President's Day. The haddock was great, as was the coleslaw and sweet potato fries. However the beef on the dip sandwich tasted like the sliced roast beef you'd get from a deli. It was SUPER salty and had that lunchmeat flavor. I choked it down but it was not good. Should've had the burger. The folks there are friendly and the prices are in line with other lunch places. We'll be coming back for dinner soon to try the prime rib and their German offerings. They have Warsteiner beer on tap which I'm excited to try next trip as I don't often see it at bars.

If you want the best prime rib or German food this is the place to go. Miss Emy is the owner and she will go out of her way to make sure you feel right at home. She checks in throughout your meal to make sure everything is perfect. She is an immigrant from Germany and serves up great food. This is not a fancy place, just good down home cooking. They start you off with two big loves of fresh baked bread which is delicious. Then you get soup or salad. We chose the salad which consisted of shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese in a creamy sauce. The salad was very fresh and more like a cucumber salad. The main course was a giant slice of prime rib that was roasted to perfection. It is enough for at least two meals. We all took lots of food home with us. We will be going back as it was so good and we want to try some of the German food.

This was my first time at Emmy's ! Everything was amazing, steaks perfectly cooked. Potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the slaw is my favorite salad. Came here with the bestie for birthday dinner, we sat at the bar where the bartender was the star of the show, drinks were very generously poured. Everyone was enjoying themselves . He mentioned that they will not be carrying the filet much longer due to the price which is find sad. Meat is expensive. When i go out for a good steak , I expect to pay the prices. The ambiance is old style country diner which I love. It's like going to grandma's house for dinner.

I have been coming to Emmy's for a few years and it has always been exceptional; both the service and the food. Last night was the first time I went back following Emmy's passing, which saddened everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. I was a little worried about the food quality and service slipping without Emmy, but I have to say, our steaks were exceptional and the service was outstanding. In fact, everything was great; the steaks, the cabbage/cucumber salad, the beef barley soup and the other appetizers. Although I'll miss getting a hug from Emmy when I visit, she would be proud to know that the crew at Emmy's is continuing her legacy of making people happy by warmly welcoming their patrons and continuing to serve the best steaks in the state at reasonable prices.

For larger parties, they will take your phone number and notify you when your table is ready so that your group can wander the shops nearby or grab a drink at The Lodge bar (part of Hollerbach's). There is a ton of seating both inside and outside, and at certain times there is live German music inside which is broadcasted outside on TV and speakers! One thing I was really impressed by was their ability to substitute sides. I substituted both of my sides for no extra charge. I highly recommend the German potato salad (warm kartoffelsalat) instead of French fries for a way more traditional schnitzel experience. The cucumber salad (gurkensalat), egg noodles with gravy (spätzle mit soße), and sauerkraut (sauerkraut) were all delightful as well! The atmosphere is lively, noisy, and fun (especially on the weekends) with people doing shotskis and passing around Das Boot!

I did not taste red wine or beef broth but the onions were tender and it was delicious just very different. In between, we enjoyed a small house salad with strawberries, raisins and cheese as well as cucumber salad - very fresh. Next, we had chicken schnitzel and jaeger schnitzel covered in mushroom gravy with spaetzle and sauerkraut or red cabbage served warm with a hint of cinnamon. Portion sizes were good to excellent. Service was SLOW. Our table was the first seated just before 6 pm. First out was a slice of banana bread cut into four strips followed by a basket of delicious and slightly sweet bread. Over the two hour meal, there were only 3 tables of diners in the restaurant, 4 staff including the twins and chef, yet things took a very long time to come out to the table. Service was very slow by American standards so be prepared for that. We overheard another table asking about substituting and the server always had to go ask - it doesn't seem that substitutions are encouraged or welcome. Sides are set by the chef and you can choose your soup du jour or salad (side or cucumber). Buyer beware that soda refills DO cost 99 cents ‍

I was a bit early for my pickup, and while I waited I was even offered a water. It smells so incredible in here that I was already so excited for my meal. I ordered the Polish plate, because it's my first experience trying Polish cuisine. I wanted an opportunity to try many different dishes, and this plate included Golabki, Potato & Cheese Pierogis, Potato Pancakes, and one Polish Sausage. A friend of mine raved about his mother's golabki for years, so naturally I started my meal with that. Wow, it was incredible! It almost reminded me of a spaghetti dish with its vivid tomato flavor. I really love that the roll holds together well when you're eating it with a knife and fork. I'm going to ask my friend for a recipe because it seems like it would be a good go to meal. I think my next favorite item was the polish sausage. I do enjoy eating sausages, but sometimes I'm just not a fan of how some are seasoned. That wasn't a problem with this polish sausage, because it was delicious and flavored just to my liking. Now pierogis I have tried before, and I'm not sure if they are polish origin or a neighboring country, but I have always enjoyed them. These cheese and potato pierogis were exactly as I expected them. They were cooked well and stuffed with filling. I shared a few with my nephew who is a bit picky, and to our surprise he was enjoying them. I would definitely give another flavor option a try! The final item was the potato pancakes and I think they were cooked well, but I think I would have preferred a little more salt to bring out the flavor. I plan to research Polish food after this visit and see how each dish is usually eaten. There were 3 condiments that accompanied my meal, but I didn't use them. For the most part, each dish was delicious all on its own. The Polish plate is definitely enough to share between 2 people, and you'd probably have just enough room for dessert as well. I know the pistachio cheesecake will definitely see me, if I find myself in the Daytona beach area again! Thank you Dill Schnitzel & Pierogi House for an amazing first experience with Polish cuisine!

It was literally steps to the beach so that was nice to stroll out there before/after. After poking around some shops, I made my way upstairs to Dill! The place is cute and colorful! Loved the European decor! I was there on a Tuesday night and there were only 2 other tables sat so pretty dead at the time. Server was lovely, cheerful, and helpful! They don't have a full bar but do serve beer and wine so was able to get a glass of vino. I really wanted schnitzel and pierogies but unfortunately you can only get the pierogies by the dozen (unless you get the big combo meal which comes with 6 rogis and a shit ton of other food). Problem was, I had a 6am flight the next morning so no way I would be able to eat any leftovers. I asked if there was ANY way I could just get like 2 rogis and she unfortunately said no (I totally get it, but maybe add smaller options in the future!). So I went with a cup of borscht soup and the pork schnitzel. The soup was served hot (I've only ever had it cold) and was very good! The schnitzel was legit the biggest schnitzel I've ever seen in my life and it's a GOOD THING I didn't get rogis in addition to it lol. I immediately cut it in half and was only able to eat that much. I got the mushroom sauce too and that was so yummy with the schnitzel! The potatoes and slaw were very good too, loved how refreshing the slaw was!! You would never think to look for this kind of food in Daytona of all places, but it's definitely worth a stop! If I had anyone dining with me, I could see getting a few dishes to split because of how large the schnitzel was. Wonderful place with great service and delicious food, just wish I was able to try those rogis!
