Every time we head to the beach in Edgewater, we drive past Osteen Diner and say, "We should have stopped there for breakfast this morning!" After saying that countless times, we finally made a point to stop on our way one Saturday morning. The diner has a relaxed, local feel, and you can seat yourself wherever you'd like. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a classic diner and at reasonable prices. If you're passing through the area and looking for a casual breakfast spot, give Osteen Diner a try. So far, this has been the BEST cinnamon bun we've had! Definitely the standout of the meal and worth coming back for. The hash browns were a little undercooked for my liking. The chicken and waffles were okay, the chicken strips were at least crispy and not dry. The country steak with gravy was also just okay and didn't really stand out. Service was good, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a typical local diner. Overall, the cinnamon bun was the highlight for us! read more

We've been to Osteens at least 15 times, particularly after picking up relatives and friends from Sanford airport. I've even had the same breakfast at least 4 times, Country Ham and eggs, (salt cured). Today's Country Ham was so salty it tasted as if the cured Ham was salted again. It was so salty I was unable to eat it. I didn't eat it and mentioned to our Server to have the kitchen Manager taste the Ham. She just looked at me and repeated, well, it's salt cured Ham. For Pete's sake, I've been eating salt cured Ham for 50+ years, I know what salt cured Ham is. I know what good salt cured Ham tastes like and what it shouldn't taste like. Anyhow, everything else was just fine, Service included. read more

A real mom and pop place. I love a true southern down home restaurant. It's hard to find in Central Florida. I enjoyed the two egg breakfast and apple cinnamon roll. The cinnamon rolls are homemade and so is the icing. The breakfast was filling and I especially enjoyed the home fries. They run like a well oiled machine and food comes out fresh, quick and hot! Stop in read more

I'm sure those place has been reviewed a ton, but it was my first visit and the food was amazing along with the cinnamon rolls are a must! Emily was our server and she knew the menu front words and backwards. The service was amazing and the restaurant is themed around the country. Just like mom cooked. Took my aunt here last week, a nice diner with nice decor, but that's about it. Food is average at best. I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and Black Eyed Peas, which had no taste at all. Will not be going back. read more

This is just a good old fashioned diner. You go in and feel like your back 20-30 years but in a good way the staff is so welcoming and inviting. The menu is typical diner with almost anything and everything you might want. We stopped here after a bike ride ioff the Osteen trailhead. They close at two but we walked in at 1:58 and no worries. The food was given quickly and freshly prepared. You can not beat the price and blue either. The chowder and fries weee piping hot. The vibe is so chill too read more

Out visiting a local customer and it hit lunch time so he brought us to Osteen. Awesome local diner. Full of locals. Large menu with chalk board specials. Just like the old days. Friendly service. There were four of us and we walked in and they cleaned a table off for us. As soon as a table emptied it filled back up. Great food and friendly place. Simply a local greasy spoon the way it is supposed to be. read more

Saturday morning and we arrived with friends who had been here before. The place was full and had several large groups too. Our server was kind, friendly and efficient. She got our drink order and quickly returned to take our order. DH ordered the country eggs Benedict and I ordered the 2 egg plate with hash browns. The food came out quickly and my food was good. DH was expecting a stronger sausage flavor from the sausage in the gravy for his breakfast. It seemed bland to him. Other than that, it was good. Everyone else liked their food. Our server was juggling several large tables. She checked in with us and she was good but didn't come back to give us refills on our sodas. It might have been an off day so we're planning to give them another chance. They're open until 2 so we'll try something else on the menu. They have a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch. read more

There are people who eat to live; my husband and I live to eat! From breakfast to dinner and in between. We enjoy trying new restaurants and food. We discovered this cozy and very homey diner on our way to our daughter's home in New Smyrna Beach The Osteen Diner has much to offer. Our breakfast delicious and our server, Madison was as sweet as she could be The atmosphere was down home country. They have plenty of parking. They have tables and booths. We highly recommend this gem of a country diner. read more

Some of the worst food I've had and it's depressing because I was so looking forward to trying this place cause their parking lot is always fairly crowded. The service was alright, she did the minimum Wait staff is trained to do; take the drink order, take the food order, check in half way, check in on parties done eating when table mates are still eating. Can't complain, she did her job. The food was delivered WAY TO QUICK!!! There is no way anything was fresh cooked besides my eggs. The bacon was limp, fatty and covered in grease, my fingers literally glistened with grease. The hotcakes were so dense that syrup didn't soak in like it normally does and the syrup was also super thick. The orange juice was absolutely from concentrate and tasted gross. My partner got the chicken and waffles with a sweet tea. There was nothing sweet about the tea, I could only taste the bitter of it. The chicken breading was overly salty and dry but the chicken was moist. The waffle was dense and had no crisp to it. The powdered sugar was actually in clumpy lil rocks. My partner said it was like eating a school breakfast. I believe the only reason this place stays open with a well packed parking lot is they're the only show in Osteen. The service as trained and the chicken being moist are the only reasons I'm leaving a 2; instead of a 1. read more

A group of us normally visit Osteen Diner on weekends for breakfast. This place is usually occupied by local folk country folk. For me there are other places I prefer more but today wasn't my pick. The service and prices are good at the Osteen Diner. There is always a crowd but we always get a table without waiting. Today I had two eggs, grits and toast with coffee for around $9.50. Everything tasted good and we had great service. Outside there is a pen with a few head of cattle children can feed. Even though I am an elderly guy I enjoy visiting the animals. We will definitely return. read more

Exactly everything you'd expect in this genuine old timey diner! Stick with the basics like breakfast standards, BLTs, etc and don't look too closely at the surfaces -- this place has been around for a long time serving local farmers, hunters, bikers and construction workers. A hidden gem on an otherwise desolate stretch of highway. They even have their own chickens. read more

After talking about going here for at least 20 years, now that we live nearby, we finally went. This is definitely an old timey diner. They have an automated dessert case! I havent seen one of those in ages! We will have ti get dessert there next time, they have about 9 kinds of pie, plus other desserts. We had a Osteen double decker (club sandwich) and a Cuban. I should mention here, there menu is quite extensive, with American, Greek, Tex-Mex, Cuban. Italian, Seafood and more, items. Both our sandwiches were great. We saw several things we want to try on return trips. read more

Just your typical country diner. I came here for breakfast and ordered a chili cheese omelet - delicious. They are very generous with their portion sizes. Even though the omelet was huge, they still serve it with 2 sides. The waitress made sure my coffee cup was always full. Very reasonable prices, speedy service, and friendly staff. 4 stars. read more

Great Food, Great Service every time all the time. New waitress just started. Missed her name but she was fantastic.

Great service! Great food..the bacon is perfect, out of all the places we have eaten breakfast!

Just real good mom and pop unpretentious diner foodie fare here. For whatever reason, over the years, we've always sort of avoided coming in for no real good reason and what a mistake that was. One of my new found joys. Wonderful Southern comfort foods without the commercial homogeneity you might expect at cracker something or other or something else like it. Perfect, just as you are. read more

The food was horrible. The chicken tenders were the same frozen ones that you buy at Walmart. The waffles were the small packaged ones you get at Costco in a huge bag... difference is here they just put it on a plate and charge you 500% more (literally, $2 versus the almost $13 on their menu). The place was also not clean. Sitting on my chair I stepped on some blueberry muffins next to my chair. The table was sticky, and the silverware was just rundown and not cleaned well. Never coming again. read more

The place was packed, as always. Great food, good service! You can't go wrong with a southern breakfast. Yum!!

If you like American diner/Southern comfort fare, this is the place. With a homey atmosphere and quick service, the restaurant serves adequate portions at reasonable prices. My husband's omelet and hash browns were cooked to perfection, and my deep-fried and creamy treats consisted of onion rings, Mac and cheese, fried okra and fried green tomatoes. They also have an extensive menu of pies. Just minor negatives-I thought my sides came with a side of corn bread but that was not given although there was a delicious ranch sauce that was served with the fried green tomatoes. My father ordered avocado with his burger, but they did not have it (probably not much demand for avocado from their average clientele). Also, the hand-written bill was very hard to decipher, and our server started cleaning our table while some of us were still eating like she was trying to get us to leave even though there were several empty tables. But all in all, if you want to eat a tasty (not necessarily healthy) American meal, try this local gem. read more

You get 2 packs of wing flats at the local store for less than 10 wings at Osteen?? We thought the hand corrected $19.99 menu price for 10 wings was a mistake. Server told us the cook said wing prices went up everywhere but I can still get wings at Anthony's, Shots, Nice-n-Easy, BWW, Alehouse, etc... for abt $1 a wing. LOL The one star is for the wing price only. Otherwise, it's your typical 3.5 star diner. read more

Amazing food, service is always fast and the ambiance makes you feel right at home!!!

Great little country style diner. Service is friendly and seems like regulars are known by name, which gives it a very home-y feel. Prices are very reasonable and portions are pretty large, so there's a lot of bang for the buck. Flavor of some of the things like the grits and chipped beef came out a bit bland, but nothing that can't be kicked up a bit with some seasoning. It's a very busy place, seemingly all the time too, which is a good sign! read more
