Stop for breakfast after watching the sunrise at the beach. This place opens at 7 AM. We got there around 7:30. They were not too busy. Our server was a decent middle-aged lady who seemed to be kind of rushed. Since it was so early most of our table ordered Warner and one coffee she seemed a little stressed out about that in the water had a funny taste Other than that, everybody pretty much ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon . The eggs were a little overdone and firm, not fluffy, scrambled eggs as she described them. It's definitely a casual café where you can grab a quick bite but don't be accept. Did to stay long as they seemed very rushy. We paid roughly 70 bucks for five people to have breakfast which isn't too bad these days. They have indoor outdoor seating and a very small parking lot super close to the beach, but not on the beach and it seems to be just a few waitresses for the whole establishment . I don't write reviews too often, but I got an egg white omelette with mushroom and onions from here yesterday (it looked pretty oily when I got it, but that's pretty normal at breakfast spots, so I ate it; and just that, not the home fries or toast that was on the side). A few hours later I was throwing up that omelette (which was the only thing I'd eaten that day) and couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day. So take with that what you will. I would give this restaurant 2 stars based upon the food alone, but I threw in an extra for the friendly, diner-style waitstaff, who are talkative and jovial and just generally pleasant! The food though...ugh. If you don't mind artificial butter, re-heated very recently frozen biscuits, artificial syrup, and airy, squishy sausage patties, then you'd probably be okay here. Maybe even delighted! After all, location-location-location. Beacon is right on the corner of Flagler and N Atlantic. A stone's throw (shell's throw?) from the beach. But this morning I left HUNGRY. Beacon serves breakfast and lunch from 7am to 2pm daily. We missed breakfast at our hotel and the desk staff highly recommended Beacon. It is a corner restaurant with plain black tables and chairs. It's decorated with seaside beachy kitsch. The waitresses are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm always so hungry I forget to take food photos, but it's a very good breakfast place. Yummy yummy yummy. I read a review that kids were not allowed and honestly that is far from the truth. It was so busy in the restaurant that kids are definitely welcome. My little family and I really enjoyed breakfast. Parking can be a little tricky but there is plenty of sitting. I'm not much of a breakfast person so I asked about lunch. I was advised by our fabulous waitress that nothing fried is cooked until 11 as they don't turn on the fryer so I was okay with that. I came here with my entire family the other day for lunch and had a great experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by multiple smiling employees. We were quickly seated and brought drinks. The waitress was prompt in taking our orders and answering any questions we had! During our visit, our glasses were never empty. The service was exceptional! My family ordered a Rueben, vegetable soup, gyro, Jim Kelly salad and a grilled flounder sandwich. The food arrived hot and all of it was tasty. Located right on Flagler Ave - not only is the food delicious, fresh, homemade, prices are great... the staff here are so sweet and makes you feel right at home every time! This place is my family and I favorite spot now since moving here. Their breakfast is also absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend their omelette's and the pancakes are so good! While waiting for our food, you could hear that this was a place for the locals. Regulars would come in and the wait staff would know their name and their order. The prices were amazing and the serving size were very generous. My son wanted a buffalo chicken sandwich, so they tossed the tenders in buffalo sauce. My biggest complaint was the fried mushrooms and onion rings were done more than our liking. Also, they ran out of homemade ranch so I didn't get to try it. Diner of diners for sure. But they have a little bit of a Greek flair. Stopped by for breakfast on a weekday during covid19. They had outside and inside tables spaced out for distance precautions. Our server was nice and prompt. She wore a mask for our safety. The breakfast menu is typical diner style. Omelets, biscuits n gravy, pancakes, etc. Since we had stopped by a coffee shop earlier on our walk, we opted for water. She didn't mind that we had our coffee with us. I went with the house special omelet which has gyro meat in it. Yum. I had the tomatoes instead of toast and chose the home fries. My date had the big omelet, subbed the cheese for feta and added spinach. He also asked to upgrade to hashbrowns for a small fee. My date is a proud member of the clean plate club. Lol. I didn't finish my potatoes or the side of tomatoes. I neglected to see on the menu that my omelet already had tomatoes in it! We finished our waters and paid the bill. We came for breakfast twice on our trip in early March and sat outside both times. The atmosphere is great between people watching and enjoying the gorgeous Florida sun. Both times we weren't impressed with the breakfast or service. Granted the first day we came was a bustling Sunday but our waitress seemed thoroughly distracted. Don't get me wrong, breakfast was not bad at all. It was just ok. What is important though is my in-laws love the place and frequent here often and they come every year for a longer time. The server was fast and had an outstanding attitude. The atmosphere was quaint and fun. The food was average at best. We both had omelettes. I had the house which featured gyro meat, which was a generous portion, but had very little cheese or sauce. My wife had the spinach and feta. It could have been just a spinach omelette as there was very little feta. The home fries were luke warm. We come every year to NSB and I may come back and try something different. They don't use seasoning on their food. The mashed potatoes taste like they came out of a box. They have no butter, no seasoning and I took one bite and couldn't eat them and they wouldn't even take it off my bill. One of the staff was rude and said there was nothing wrong with the mashed potatoes and I could order something else next time. I would never come back. The pork chop was plain with no seasoning. The onion rings grease left a film on my teeth. I'm not one to like a lot of seasoning but a small amount of butter, salt is not too much to ask for mashed potatoes. They upcharged me 1.75 for onion rings and wouldn't it off of my bill in exchange for the inedible mashed potatoes. read more

There were several tables outside on a covered patio. The weather was perfect, with nice ocean breeze. After reviewing a menu that had numerous great selections, I chose the chicken salad sandwich with tomato, lettuce on toasted rye bread . The server was very attentive, quick with requests, and our lunches were served timely, and with a smile and great conversation . The sandwich was awesome chicken salad, perfect made, healthy portion . Simply, divine. The other entrees were of superb quality too! If you want a great experience, take this in. Very. Came here recently for breakfast on my birthday and was severely disappointed. I ordered Corned Beef Hash with house fries and a fried egg, and my significant other ordered the Greek Yogurt Parfait and an eggs and bacon-type combination. The house fries were completely unseasoned, bland as humanely possible. Ordered the egg over easy and the white were rubbery, also completely unseasoned, not even a pinch of salt or pepper. The corned beef hash was about as good as canned Hormel brand and that's about it. I'm not usually a "douse in hot sauce" eater, but Texas Pete couldn't even save this food. My S.O.'s Green Yogurt didn't come with the honey on it, the eggs were bland and the cheese on top was cold and unmelted, even after having it remade TWICE. The servers were mediocre at best, I got up to get hot sauce, silverware, and menus on my own and every time I got up one server or another would THEN "jump into action" as it were, saying "oh hon I could've gotten that for you." Too little, too late. When asking about the receipt, since none of the items were written out or itemized in any coherent fashion, the waitress gave a stern and unforgiving breakdown of the receipt without picking up on the fact that the food is overpriced and it was clear we were dissatisfied. The ONLY reason this place is getting 2 stars is because it was clean, quiet, and well lit. It's only saving grace was that it was clean and relatively cute. Our guess is that this business is surviving on repeat customers and locals who have forgotten what salt and pepper taste like. I mean, really. I'm not trying to bash this place, but by GOD this was the worst breakfast I've had since I was deployed overseas. MREs best this, they at least have salt. read more
