This place was absolutely beautiful. I attended an event during their bottomless brunch and the space alone had me in awe. The ambiance was inviting, stylish, and felt like the perfect setting for a weekend experience with friends. The food overall was good. The shrimp and grits were definitely the highlight for me full of flavor and well done. The steak, however, wasn't my favorite and didn't quite hit the mark. The fruit bowl was exactly that fruit in a bowl nothing special but fresh. The banana pudding was delicious and a sweet way to end the meal. The service was a bit inconsistent, which I believe was due to the waitress being very busy. There were a few moments where we waited longer than expected for menus, straws, or even water. While noticeable, it didn't completely take away from the experience and felt more like a staffing issue than a lack of care. Overall, I would absolutely return for brunch with friends. We visited The Table in DeLand with a group of ten and had an overall good experience, with a few mixed moments. For appetizers, we tried the coconut shrimp, Table tots, spinach dip, and charcuterie. Everything was fantastic except the shrimp, which were a bit overcooked. The rest of the starters were flavorful and well prepared. Most of our group ordered the NY strip since they were out of the filet, while others chose the meatloaf, mushroom pasta, and a few other dishes. Portions were generous and the food was tasty. While the strip wasn't the best I've had, it was cooked perfectly. Dessert was a bit hit or miss. We tried all the pies -- most were decent and nicely presented, though nothing stood out. The salted caramel cheesecake had a grainy texture rather than being smooth. Service was friendly, but a little rushed. Courses came out too quickly, making it hard to enjoy each one before the next arrived. The table became crowded with plates, and the pace felt chaotic at times. Absolutely stunning building in historic downtown serving upscale southern comfort food, what more is there to say? Ok there's a lot. We went for dinner on a weekday night and ordered the tenderloin tips and the pork ossobuco as well as sides of the goat cheese grits and crispy Brussels sprouts. The tenderloin tips were as the name implies very tender and even slightly on the medium side of temperature. The gravy didn't have any significant flavor, but the risotto had an overwhelming rosemary flavor and unfortunately was still a bit crunchy in some parts. The green beans were perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned - I would have had double of those over the risotto. The pork ossobuco was the outstanding item of the night. Fall off the bone tender and succulent and so well seasoned. The risotto suffered the same issues as our other dish but again the green beans brightened things up. The goat cheese grits were as you'd expect, a bit of funk, coarse grits, could have been a bit creamier for my taste. The crispy sprouts were somehow both crispy and moist - when you bit in you got an initial crunch but then a gush of the tangy sauce. I liked them well enough but can't say I'd order them or the grits again. It's both romantic and trendy but quaint and welcoming at the same time. Food: we went to downtown Deland to visit a family member who lived on that side of town and went to dinner at the Table due to menu options. We got the rigatoni and added shrimp, the pork osobuco, and the short ribs. We also got whipped sweet potatoes and fried brussels. The sweet potatoes weren't really whipped though, probably more like mashed. Pros: flavors were fantastic (in my opinion perfectly seasoned but one of the people in my party needed cheese on the pasta), pork was TENDER, shrimp was delicious. the sides were great and enjoyed how they were small portions! Cons: the short ribs was alittle tough, risotto was delicious but not a traditional Arborio rice. Mild mushroom flavors! Service: our server was super busy and was juggling the bar as well! We do wish that she had asked if we would like anything else before she brought our checks, since we took a peak at dessert posted on the hostess stand and they looked fire! This is my second time at The Table - and I am not impressed. I first tried them for brunch a week ago on a Saturday - they serve it tapas style which is strange - I got their chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits and fried chicken with pepper jelly - the only noteworthy dish was the pepper jelly which paired well with the chicken I decided to try them again and - . I had dinner here tonight - there is a lack in attention to detail - the table they seated me at was wet . I ordered the braised beef with risotto - the beef itself was cooked well with good flavor but the risotto was overcooked to the point where I wondered if it was grits. I ordered a guava margarita And I have yet to taste the margarita - half of the salt was in the drink 1 I couldn't even finish it. I don't think I'll be back again as I'm sure downtown Deland must have better food offerings than this. We reserved a room at the table for a rehearsal dinner our son's wedding. Communication with the owners who schedule events was challenging because they literally refuse to talk to customers on the phone and we live out of state so we couldn't just drop in. Not a huge deal but a bit frustrating. When food finally did get served, the server spilled hot sauce all over my son, his fiancé, and a guest. We haven't been here in over 5 years. Surprised to find they've moved down stairs to a dark, cave like room. Maybe at night it has more ambiance, but at lunch it felt dark. Next time we'll opt for their outdoor dining patio. Be aware the stairs are steep. You have to call a number to access the elevator. The old space is only opened Friday-Sunday and is a cocktail/wine bar. The chicken pot pie was delicious as always. Bit enough to share. We ordered drinks and apps the pink lady was yummy and not too sweet. Our server was honest and helped us pick our choices. We decided to stop in and try The Table again with another couple. What a great time! The menu has something for everyone and the restaurant is just so beautiful inside. They had a nice selection of wines and an interesting cocktail menu. One of us got the Old Fashioned and it was fantastic. Our meals were all delicious! However, the beef tenderloin tips were a bit dry and hard to chew. I would highly recommend trying the beef short rib or pork osso buco if you're looking for some really tender meat. Me and my girlfriend stopped in for lunch. She ordered the chicken pot pie, I ordered the fried chicken. The food came out and I was immediately shocked/confused, thinking I must have misread the menu so didn't really say anything. The fried chicken was advertised as fried chicken thighs. What came out were chicken thigh chicken strips. They were also very stringy and burnt, almost as if they tried to refry strips from the previous day. It was the worst fried chicken I've had in a long time, which is disappointing from a place that advertises itself as a place that serves southern style food. I was hangry, so I just ate it. The Mac and cheese wasn't good but wasn't bad. What was most off putting was the half full sauce cup of coleslaw that had turned probably a day or two ago. It was soured and off color and I wondered why they even gave it to me seeing that it was less than a spoonful. The chicken pot pie was decent, so there's that. Service was slow but not bad. I won't be going back, but I'm sure they have their set of regulars. Their brunch was TERRIBLE for an assortment of reasons. First, the location of the restaurant is down a very long set of small steps. Once you actually find the restaurant, it is fairly large with lots of seating and nice enough. They only allow one fixed price of $30 per person for all you can eat brunch. They do not allow an a la carte option to just chose an entrée or single item for brunch. So we did the all you can eat. They have a pancake station and an omlette station, plus all of the items off the menu you can order. The menu description of items was terrible! It would say an item comes with sauce, but not describe what the sauce actually was. When we asked the food runner they had no idea and said "It looks like white sauce to me". Another example was that they had a loaded brunch casserole with no description of what is was loaded with. The bruschetta was pathetic. Literally one ball of mozzarella thrown onto an entire slice of regular white bread toast! Look at my photo for reference, it will give you a laugh. The Table is a chic, modern restaurant in the heart of Historic Deland. The entrance is a bit tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. We thought they were closed until we saw the sign to go around the corner and downstairs. The outdoor seating area is very cute and the ambiance is relaxing. The food was just okay. I thought I noticed more vegetarian options on an online menu (I know those can become quickly outdated) but I opted for my go-to veggie burger option. The burger itself was a little mushy and I wish they put more sauce on it. But it was fine overall. I added some salt to it. I ordered some kind of Peach John Daly-style cocktail. The menu said they use UN-sweet tea, which is why I ordered it. I don't like overly sweet drinks. This was not the drink for me. It was very sweet. First of all what caught my eye to this cocktail lounge was the ceiling lights that you can see through the windows as you drive by. I wanted to go here before they even opened. The ambiance is great inside because of these lights! They have big lounge chairs set up in sections. I wanted to sit in one, but unfortunately they were all full. They also have high tops and the bar you can sit at. We chose the bar and glad we did. The bartenders were great! I tried The Black Opal that was a delicious vodka based drink. It was on the sweeter side and it even had a yummy berry flavored candy on the bottom. I also tried The Krakens Mistress a rum based drink. When I saw this drink I had to try it. It's a pretty pink and blue blend with a orchid on the side. A little sour, but yummy. We ordered a charcuterie board and BBQ Chicken Flatbread. Both were tasty and I wish they offered bigger charcuterie boards, because I love having many different options. My only problem with this place was they didn't have hooks to hang my new purse from under the bar. Ha! I look forward to returning here many times and kudos to the new owners. We were visiting family in Deland and wanted a decent place to go for brunch or lunch on a Sunday. Unfortunately a lot of restaurants in the downtown area of Deland are closed on Sunday and Monday. Thankfully, I found The Table on Yelp. After reading reviews, I tried to make a reservation (but couldn't on the same day) and was worried about the wait time. We got there around 12:30 PM on a Sunday, though, and were seated right away. For brunch, The Table has an all-you-can-eat brunch. It's a little on the pricey side, but a nice splurge. They have a menu of items that are tapas-sized, and each person can order as many dishes as they'd like. Additionally, there's an omelet station where a chef can prepare an omelet with ingredients of your choice. There's also a do-it-yourself waffle station where you can cook your own waffles. I'd have preferred if they had someone making waffles for you at the waffle station and then you just grab one and add toppings. I did go to the omelet station. Some of the ingredients I tried to order, they were out of. But I still had a great omelet made with sausage, peppers, and gouda cheese. And it was BIG. Thankfully, I had help at my table so I didn't fill up on just an omelet. The omelet was delicious, though. It was very creamy. We thought it was best to order different things to share so we could all try a variety of items. The Shrimp and Grits were amazing and so flavorful in sherry wine and cheesy grits. The Avocado Toast was delicious as well. The Kitchen Sink (tater tots topped with pulled pork, macaroni & cheese, and sauce) was sinful. The Steak Chilaquiles was good, but the tortilla chips were soggy, so I passed on some of those. Then there was the Loaded Hashbrown Casserole. YUM. So flavorful and creamy. And let's not forget the super thick perfectly cooked bacon. Wow! I wish I could have eaten more, but I had to call it quits. Then there was the dessert station. A very friendly Ian greeted with us with a smile. Falling far beyond being in the weeds, only Ian was seating guests, taking orders and slinging drinks. A lone bus-dish washer carried plates as food trickled from basement kitchen. Atmosphere deteriorated as dining room filled. We waited an hour and a half for four salads and one burger. Burger so dry & tough it was inedible and deducted from ticket. Then poor young guy delivering meals flipped an entire tray filled with a bunch of orders next to our table near front door entry. Scurried back to basement to retrieve a broom & dust pan, leaving the pile of broken dishes & ruined food. After scrapping up remnants and fragments a large oil slick was left on floor. We cautioned passing customers to be careful but soon a patron lost traction landed with a loud thud onto the concrete floor. Embarrassed she rushed out. Other patrons informed Ian of the accident. We pointed out the oily floor. Ian pulled welcome mat over covering the hazard. Saying well that'll do in a pinch. Seems like the whole wait staff must have quit leaving Ian on his own. It was Sunday brunch and we clearly arrived to a short staffed restaurant that has on the menu brunch is 90 minutes max. It took 20 minutes to get coffee/drinks (we saw the poor server was preparing and delivering all drinks), then 30 minutes to place our first order. This was the first time I tried The Table for Brunch, we went on a Sunday afternoon at around noon. Brunch is $25 per person & the plates are unlimited. There was indoor & outdoor seating. (Dogs are allowed outside) We were a group of 8 people and they sat us down immediately. The waitress was very nice, got our waters very quickly and also got our orders in promptly. We did not have to wait long for our food to come. My husband ordered: the vegetables hash, steak tips, goat cheese grits and french toast. I ordered the Pancakes, french toast, hash browns, thick cut bacon, an order of fruit & the bruschetta. Everything was delicious! Plates would come out as we ordered throughout our meal and all of my friends enjoyed their food. The plates were a good size so you can order a variety of food and you wouldn't feel too stuffed. The bathrooms do not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis as there was also, dust covering all surfaces and the toilets resembled a seven eleven gas station, and had zero toilet paper or paper towels for the customer. We got the chance to go out to dinner with friends, without kids, so we chose The Table. Our server had infinite patience with me as I was indecisive about the wine and meal, but we had a great time. I had the Clean Slate Riesling and the Southern Fried Chicken. It paired well. The Mac and cheese was delicious. The atmosphere at The Table is relaxed and laid-back. Offering dining inside or outside is one of the things that we love about The Table - it means that Zach, our Maltese rescue can dine with us. The servers are attentive, but not hovering. They know the menu and can always weigh in when you are torn between two items on the menu.
