We love hanging out at hyderhead. Can't believe I've not yet written a review. We enjoy meeting different people and visiting with them, and sometimes have the pretzel or the Mac and steak.

Pretty cool brewery. Small but nice. They make a lot of different beers and some good food choices. Big parking area right across the street, and it is free! After a beer check out all the shops in Downtown DeLand..!

Something about this place that just makes you want to stay the whole day. It's comfy, lots of decorations to look at, has family history and their brews are all homemade in-house by the owner himself. We got two rounds of their German lager and it was delicious. We also got a four Scottish whiskey sample which I forgot most of the names, but remembered the specific Paddy's one. This one was so good that we asked our server where we can buy this in Florida. I've been to Scotland before so coming here was like reliving my best memories in Europe. Strong drinks and friendly people. I love it here!

This isn't my first time visiting & I only have good things to say about this micro-brewery. Love the ambiance, service, drinks & food. It has a Scottish theme & the owner is always around to talk to you. I went after the Friday Artisan Alley farmers market and the place was packed! There was live music, people dancing & good drinks. They just got their liquor license so not only do they serve beer, they have REFRESHING sangria (Which is what I ordered) spirits and cocktails. So if you're not too keen for a beer, they got something for everyone! They have seating inside and outside, pet friendly & 2 bathrooms. They have food too. I tried their steak mac & cheese. It was DELICIOUS. My friend had the pretzel. Great portion sizes for the price. Will definitely be back!

There is not a lot authentic places around volusia, at least not that i know about, regardless this is the cutest brewery I've visited so far. They have a very unique and interesting selection, some of the beers are brewed in the establishment (if not all) and their hops are imported from Europe! In my books that's a win for sure, their food is definitely authentic Scottish cuisine, not necessarily the most delicious for however definitely authentic and completes the experience. I've also tried their cider, and it was great! Not too sweet, which is a definite plus compared to commercially available ones. Service is great, we were checked on couple of times but not much, bartender made sure he is available if we need him. Additionally the walls are decorated in bunch of meaningful decor, mostly Scottish, And it makes you feel like you stepped into the highlands! Unique experience-will definitely come back!

ABSOLUTELY a must visit!!! The owner is the most genuine, kind hearted man you will meet. He is extremely proud of his work. And it shows in his brews. We never tried any of the food as we usually just come here for the drinks. The place itself is like you have walked into scottland itself. From the decor to the music choice, hyderhead brewery just transforms you to further elevate your experience. Such a cool gem!

It didn't impress me much You know that taste when a brewery is just getting started? We'll, the Frontal Load IPA was just that taste but almost there. Just not the depth of flavor quite yet. I was going to do only 3 stars but I can tell they're almost there and working hard to perfect their craft. I'll check them out again next time I'm in town.

Niche brewery in DeLand just down the street from Persimmon Hollow. The interior is chill, and definitely pays homage to the Scottish heritage. I ordered a flight of the Caber Toss Pale Ale, Sheaf Toss Rye Ale, Heavy Vixen Hefeweizen, and the Vader Toss Wee Heavy Scottish Ale. My favorite was the Vader Toss, a good malty beer. The Rye was waaaaay heavy on the rye and anything more than the 5 oz. taster would have been tough for me to finish. But, overall, the beers were tasty, and I'd definitely hit this place up when I'm in DeLand.

Great place. A definitive stop when you are in deland or traveling the backroads of Florida. Scottish themed, small batch beers with a handful of mixed drinks. Scottish-themed is an understatement

I met some people here for a work meeting turned into a great experience! The owner was there and spoke with us about the story of his family. Recipes are passed down from earlier generations. The beer is brewed using oats for the hops, which started during Prohibition! And he had traditional Haggis, which I've never seen or heard of before! Then we got to taste their Belgian Tripel, which was just finishing up and has a touch of Anise in it! AMAZING BREWERY!

Can't decide if the best part of this place is the beer or the owner & staff! First time here, so we knew we'd have to get a few tastings. We were persuaded to try their full flight of all 13 beers, which got us two bell rings right at the start (one ring for being first timers, the 2nd ring for ordering the big-boy taster.) Then Jeffery, the founder, introduced us to the tradition of sharing a drink from a Quaich, which gave us that extra layer of attention and making us feel welcome. Ended up enjoying an extra pour of their Vader Toss & I may have had a couple of extra pours of their Apple Pie Cider! We will for sure become regulars there!

What an absolute gem!…read more We do Fun Food Friday as a family every week and tonight we decided to check out some Irish Cuisine. Harp & Celt may lack in the parking lot aspect, but it MORE than makes up for it in flavor, service, and atmosphere! There are two sides to H&C, one a bit more of a lively bar scene, and the other a more laid back pub vibe. Both have great seating and a fully stocked bar with access to some of the most delicious food around. We started with the pretzel sticks and fries with gravy and they both came out super fast and the gravy is beyond words good! One warning, it is piping hot so be careful! Haha The shepherd's pie has a fantastic mince with creamy and crispy topped mashed potatoes that feels like a warm hug in your stomach. The fish and chips are light, excellently crispy, and ridiculously fresh tasting. Add a little malt vinegar for a little zing and you've got a brilliant meal! Tack on a cold Manger's cider from the bar and you could be in any pub in Ireland. When there is a soccer game happening they've got the televisions dialed right in so you don't miss a minute of action, and you can even challenge your friends to a game of darts if you've got the skill!

It's fun to check them out any time of day because they take soccer games VERY SERIOUSLY!! There'll be a rowdy screaming bunch on the other side of the bar. The Harp is more subdued but still has lots of fans watching the soccer games. (Tip: Don't share what team you're rooting for, even in jest, because you might trigger a rabid fan.) The beer is good, a selection is on tap, & I found a $4 cold Yuengling glass bottle recently during happy hour. They have traditional Irish beers also & food. I have enjoyed their Irish fry, although sometimes they might run out of an item & will offer a substitution. The food is good so get there early. They have a lot of fans. There are also events like poker, & featured Irish dishes specials on occasion. Nice staff that are REALLY into soccer/football.

AFTERNOON LUNCH DATE WITH THE WIFEY!!!…read more We stopped into the proper pie to grab lunch and here is the short of it. The pies are all frozen and take 20+ mins for them to cook it for you. If you have time the pies are very good. The only reason for the 4 stars is the time we spent waiting for the pies to cook felt like forever and the place was completely empty. I know these take time to cook, but just sitting there waiting felt like forever. I think buying and taking home to cook may be the way to go for these pies if you don't have the time. Pricing was a bit much in comparison to grocery store pies, but the filling sets Proper Pie apart from those in the freezer section. We got a beef and a chicken both were tasty. For us, Proper Pie is a once in a while or grab and take home to bake place, but when we want a meat pie this is the place to go!!! They also have an array of British food selections available. AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!
