Our party of four walked in the brewery on a Friday evening and the big open space was buzzing with activity. Groups of friends and families were gathered and, from all appearances, very much enjoying themselves. We found a table and ordered beers. I chose the Blood Orange Wheat, ABV 4.7%, after asking what the Schwarzbier was, and the wheat beer was served in a Persimmons Brewery logoed glass. It was cold and good tasting and I appreciated the lighter beer in this warmer night as I enjoyed my tacos from down the block. The brewery from my observation is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and (bring your own) food-friendly. The staff also were friendly and helpful. With all these plusses, I can easily see why Persimmons is a great place to hang out.

Good local brews, fun vibe inside and a perfect place to wind down after a long day or to hang with friends without it being overly crowded. The best thing about having a good craft brewery local is that you can count on the best brews being on tap all the time but you'll get to sample new creations pretty regularly.

    $7 beer......

Second time I've been here, charged $7 for a beer and didn't get a full pour on my pint either time.. Nice enough staff, not very attentive. Don't think I'll be back here...

Stop by after having lunch in the area. Upon entering the smell hit me strong. Not sure what it was, but it was not pleasant. Big open area with seating throughout the bewery and also had bar seats. I opt for a flight to try certain beers they had offered. I didn't really like any of them and usually I'm a fan of good beers. None of them hit the spot for me. I ended up getting one of the ciders they had on tap and it was pretty good! Nice space to enjoy company.

Proof we loved the pineapple cider haha

Came to visit with my class to celebrate our Senior Week. The atmosphere of the building was really fun, but also relaxing. You could see the brewing equipment, the bar was clean and accessible, and the seating was comfy. There was pool, music, and board games. Service was incredible! It was so quick to order, get our drinks, and have the empty glasses cleared. My group loved the pineapple cider! I also enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon blanc. This is a great place for not only a tasty drink, but also a great place to socialize. We love Persimmon Hollow!

Great brewery. My husband and I each ordered a flight of 4, all different beers, and were impressed when we found al of the beers to be delicious. The staff are friendly as well and informative. The brewery has a large open area with lots of bar and table space. They have arcade games, pool tables, board games and so much more. Oh, TVs and WIFI. They have a nice selection of branding merchandise (shirts, glasses, etc.). They are in the heart of Historic Downtown Deland and it makes a great place to stop and wet your whistle after visiting the many antique and other vintage shops in the area. NOTE: They do NOT serve food, but you can bring food in. On Friday, starting at 5:00 PM they shut down the street for a farmer's market. Make sure you park in a lot further down the street so you don't get stuck inside the zone if you don't plan on hanging out until after the market closes. Which brings me to parking. There are several small lots along the same street with 3-hour parking. There is street parking but limited on the main streets. Definitely returning!!!

A must stop for beer lovers in DeLand. Solid beers, a big room to hang out in, and fun and games to be had (including a pool table). The Dirty Blonde and Beach Hippie are standard go-to's, and the Copper Lager was quite tasty (although served on the warm side - damn you Florida summer heat!).

Chill spot in an older part of small town Florida. Good beer and friendly servers. One of the few brewery taprooms that's posts blending suggestions. We went with a Beach Hippie ipa blended with the pineapple cider 90/10. Delicious. Open air and spacious. Definitely recommend.

A refreshing brewery in Downtown Deland! Walked in on a Saturday early afternoon and was taken away by the place. It's like walking into a garage. It's very rustic and the ventilation system was great for the place to keep their door open the whole time. It didn't feel hot at all considering Florida summer heat. We ordered the Laketime and Day Dirty Blonde and it was very delicious. Super cold and crisp, coming straight from the spout. They allow you to bring in outside food to enjoy with their beers, which I will definitely take advantage of the next time we come back! Beers were $7 a pour.

Great beer and a great scene. This brewery reminds me of one along the west coast of Florida. It is located right in the alley with a bunch of other restaurants and cute shops. The public area of the brewery has video games, darts, and other fun things in an open air environment. Not sure how it would be during summer but during spring it was fine - they have plenty of large fans. The beer here is pretty good. I had a flight and enjoyed some more than others. The staff was super friendly here and allowed as many samples as I wanted.

Great beer! Downtown Deland is covered with tons of shops and restaurants. Persimmon Hollow has made a name for itself in the neighborhood. They have darts for play, a pool table, and board games which definitely makes this a family friendly spot. We came by with friends and kids and everything was great!

Tipsy Unicorn is one of those spots you don't just stumble into... you find it. And once you do, you realize pretty quickly why people keep coming back. I've been here more times than I can count, and somehow it still feels like a great find every single time. The food is legit. Not just something to go along with a drink, but something you actually look forward to. That Dagwood wrap in the photo... stacked, fresh, and exactly what you want when you sit down and take a breath for a bit. Simple, done right. And the flights... always the move. They're thoughtfully crafted, and what really stands out is how much intention is behind everything they're doing. There's a creativity here that goes beyond just what's on the board. You can feel it in how the beers are built and how they're meant to be experienced. It gives you something a little different every time without ever feeling forced. But what really makes this place what it is... it's the feel. I'm not from here, and not once have I ever felt like an outsider. It's one of those places that just pulls you in. Comfortable, easy, and genuinely welcoming in a way that's hard to fake. And the people... they want you to feel at home. And they absolutely deliver on that. I've posted about this place more times than I probably should have already, and here I am again. That probably tells you everything you need to know. Get off the interstate. Go find it. Support local when you can. It matters. This is one of those spots.

Cafe DaVinci in downtown DeLand (112 W Georgia Ave) is hands-down my favorite spot for live music,…read moredrinks, and good vibes in Volusia County--I've been going for years, and it never disappoints. This place has such a unique, eclectic energy that's hard to find anywhere else: a perfect mix of cozy indoor bar, open-air courtyard with string lights and a massive lighted oak tree that gives it this magical, almost enchanted garden feel at night. It's got that laid-back, artsy DeLand charm but with enough edge to keep things exciting--think market lights twinkling overhead, pool tables outside, and a crowd that's always friendly and ready to have fun. The live music is what really sets it apart. They host original local bands, cover acts, rock, pop, R&B, throwback tunes, and everything in between almost every night--concerts start around 9 PM, and the energy ramps up fast. I've seen everything from killer rock bands to dance-floor fillers that get the whole place moving. And yes, people actually dance here! The courtyard turns into a real dance floor on busy nights--whether it's grooving to 70s classics, current hits, or feel-good empowerment anthems, it's impossible not to get pulled in. No stiff vibes; it's all about letting loose and enjoying the moment. The drinks are strong, reasonably priced (coldest beer in town, as they claim), and the bar staff is top-notch--super friendly, quick, attentive, and genuinely nice. Bartenders like Zach and the rest of the crew remember faces, crack jokes, make killer cocktails, and keep the good times flowing without ever making you feel rushed. The owner and team create this welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like a regular, even on your first visit. Whether you're coming solo to catch a show, with friends for a night out, or just want a spot to chill with great music in the background, Cafe DaVinci delivers. It's more than a bar--it's DeLand's best original live music venue where you can drink local, dance local, and make memories. If you're in the area, especially on a Friday or Saturday, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it--I've recommended it to everyone I know, and they all come back raving.
